I was passing through from the 757 area to JFK and decided to stop and eat at Derby's. I had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and everyone was incredibly friendly, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I ordered the BBQ pulled pork with mac and cheese, and it was honestly some of the best BBQ I've ever had. The pulled pork was flavorful and perfectly cooked, while the mac and cheese was creamy and delicious. Everything tasted amazing! read more

No complaints. Was in DE for the Amish bike ride. The guest services guy when asked recommended this spot. It's just a quaint local spot to eat. Nuttin fancy. The food was good AND reasonably priced! The bathrooms were very very clean. Our waitress was helpful... sorry forgot her name. They do offer breakfast at all hours. We had planned on going back but decided on another local spot. Support local businesses! Sista was hungry and didn't get pics but Ibhad the fish and fries, a friend had a burger and the other person had a quesadilla. We all enjoyed our food so yay! read more

Cream of crab soup was good. Service was excellent Fried calamari was cooked to perfection and the marinara was excellent fried pickles were good too! Nice friendly atmosphere. read more

Passing through and chose Derby's based on reviews -not always the best decision criteria but it sure was this time. Cant say enough about this place. Staff were very nice and although the place was packed we never felt neglected (this wait staff hustles!). Food was quick and large portions. They offer a large and diverse menu. We all had burgers and quite likely the biggest burger I've had in over a decade! With all said and done it needs to be said that the prices are also quite reasonable. Would I come back- absolutely!! read more

What an amazing stop based on the recommendations!! Great stop great food great service. If we're ever in the area we'll definitely be stopping again. read more

I had a horrible experience going Derby's on my 55th birthday .the waitresses was like 68 years old .I don't care about her age but she should have a good attitude which she did not! we waited 15 minutes to get drinks .there is a table of like 20 people in there four waitresses take care of them we have a table of six and the food came out it was cold it wasn't good at all I would not recommend this restaurant unless you're drunk and want to go to the bar they shouldn't even be in business they they should be shut down they have horrible food and horrible waitresses with attitudes! I asked her if I could get up if I get a scoop of ice cream for my birthday and she said we don't do that here, with a major attitude!!!!!!!! Fuck that place!!!!! I live in between Harrington and Seaford and I will never recommend anyone going to that disgusting restaurant!!!!!!! read more

We had dinner tonight at Derby's for the first time. We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our meals. When we arrived the place was packed and busy. As we were waiting to be seated we were talking to the host/cashier about the menu and his recommendations. He had several pictures of menu items on his phone and showed us the entrees that we were considering. Our server Beca was friendly and also offered her opinion and recommendations. We both decided to get meals that were "Specials" on the menu. The amount of food that we were served was incredible. We started with a salad. Our entrees followed and came with 2 sides and a dessert! There was a DJ there, and we played music bingo. The prizes included tokens worth $5 or $10 off your bill, or $100 cash for winning the final bingo game. It turned out to be a really fun night! I highly recommended checking this place out. read more

Another visit to Derby's tonight. I enjoy coming here as the service is always friendly and attentive. Tonight they started offering a new special... Sweet Chickadee. Two large fried chicken breast tenderloins with a spicy bourbon glaze, bacon, and cheese, served with soup or salad, two sides, and dessert. It's delicious! As usual there's always a nice crowd and the dining area is clean and pleasant. I think we will stick around for Quizzy Bingo! read more

I ordered the Oyster Fritter appetizer. A fritter is a mix of batter with chopped or whole oysters and fried. It is a seafood pancake. What arrived were 4 oysters fried separately and in a crusty cornmeal coating. The oysters were so tough they chewed into wads of dry pulp. I complained and was refused any accommodation. Last visit here! read more

We arrived tired and hungry after a long 6 hour drive. It was about 8:30pm on a Wednesday and it was quite quiet at the restaurant. The waitstaff was very attentive, we placed orders and everything arrived promptly. The food was excellent, we even got dessert as part of our entree meals. By the time we left a bit after 9pm the restaurant was packed with patrons! Our bill was also very affordable. Highly recommended! read more

After going to Rudy's for years we decided to give Derby's a try. Service was good. My wife's fried clams and fries were very good except that there were a lot more fries than clams. Our son's French dip was kinda sad. A little lacking on the meat. My main gripe was the so called bowl of cream of crab soup! If you all are going to serve a bowl to a customer then please buy some larger bowls. Be a little more generous on the crab meat also! read more

Derby's food was fast, friendly, and fairly priced. The salads were made with particularly crispy lettuce and the server told that was due to the extra care they take in the kitchen. This is a Delmarva landmark and worth the visit. We capped off our meal with Tapioca pudding which appeared to made from scratch. We will definitely be back! read more

Always a great variety of food, drinks, desserts! Yum to soup, salad, cheesecake, triple chocolate fudge cake, margaritas, wraps, three course meals, ice cream- especially mint chocolate chip! Service on Fridays and Saturdays is aokay to good. A lot of regular customers, I am sure. But kind of busy between 5 and 8 PM. Restaurant is always clean, spacious, packed with people for happy hour, any meal, or entertainment. Management and his family are friendly, helpful. read more

The lady waiting on us had no teeth and kept spitting on my food. We were a party of 8 and saw her 3 times all night. Shame because the burgers were good. Extra rude as well. read more

My wife and I like their food and service. I love their soups. We eat there regularly, and there is always a crowd. A good indicator of the popularity of the restaurant. read more

Canned Corned Beef Hash was horrible. They didn't deny it was out of a can and kept saying that is how it is supposed to be made. I could only laugh and try not to barf. Hashbrowns also had hair in them. We showed the server and she only took the food away, didn't take it off the bill. When we went to cash out and tell the manager or whoever he was about our experience he could only tell us about how we didn't know anything and the food was great. As we were leaving he said "see you next time" ... yea no way in hell. read more

Their crab cake sandwich is to die for! I had it broiled...so fresh and delicious I didn't eat the roll. Very large size also! Their crab soup was great also. Their Long Island ice tea tasted weird, but they were happy to replace it with their margarita, which was good. read more

My wife and I stopped here during our purchase of a car in Felton. I had the shepherd's pie, which was on special. For a reasonable price it came with soup and dessert. It was delicious. Wife got the chicken wings which were also good. Service was great. A great place to grab a bite! read more

Food was great service was great pricing was very reasonable. We will return again. Meals were served quickly and were hot from the kitchen. The restaurant was clean and the bathrooms were clean also. It's easy access and parking lot is lighted well. read more

We stopped in here tonight for the first time since it's been Derby's and boy were we pleasantly surprised. I've been telling my husband that we should go there sometime because every time we ride by the parking lot would be full. There were 3 in our party, two of us got the crab cake special and my husband got the cabbage rolls. Our server was quick to wait on us the food came out when expected and everything we had was cooked perfectly and tasted great. My husband and friend got the soup and I ordered the salad that came with the meal and all three of us were pleased with what we had. At the end we also got ice cream or rice pudding for dessert, again everything was great. We definitely have a new place to go out to eat. Forgot to take any pictures. read more

It was Denny's on roid's! First of all they don't like to clean food off the floor during shift... The service /waiter, was very attentive/ justin? I think. The food was mediocre at best. Burgers was falling apart but had a great pesto on it. It was well priced for what we got.. you get what you pay for... $10 for 6 burned mozzerella sticks with iffy sauce. Salads were...salads, but chicken was anything but fresh. $5.00 Long Island ice tea was exactly that,,,, a $5.00 long Island ice tea..There are a lot of places fighting for my business. not great but you pay for what you get... we will not be going back. read more

Pretty good, but puzzling. I ordered a Mixed-up burger (mushrooms, peppers, onions, and provolone), and it came as described, but oddly on a dry bun with no lettuce, tomato, or any kind of sauce on it. I asked for and got lettuce and tomato slices to go on it, but I felt slightly gaslit... aren't those things just always with burgers? And some sort of sauce -- mayo, ketchup, mustard, and relish on the side at least? The patty was a good size, just missing the rest of the sandwich. The crab chowder that came with it was great, though. read more

Great food, good service! I usually eat breakfast there but occasionally eat lunch there as well. Friendly relaxed atmosphere with many locals as well as travelers from other cities and states stopping here. Quite a crowd is attracted here on Sunday's. read more

Service was good... however we came because earlier reviews when it was under the name Stargate indicated good home cooked meals. The serving was huge! I ordered the meatloaf and mashed potatoes because I hadn't had that in a long time. The meatloaf was bland. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant. The gravy was underwhelming and the mushrooms on top were canned. Sure to fill you up but a big disappointment to me. read more

The peppered steak was one of the best meals ever tonight at the Derby. A group of friends go there at least three times a month. We are never disappointed. The service is always top notch. Most meals are made so you have left overs for the next day. We have been going' there since the new owner took over. If you want good food at a fair price stop by and check it out you will not be disappointed. read more

We have come to love this place. If you like French Onion soup, theirs is FANTASTIC, the best I have ever had - consistently. And the service has also been excellent. The Four start ratiing today was because we did encounter a recent food issue. We ordered the Nachos from the appetizer menu with added beef. When it came to our table, the nachos looked DRY. Was expecting melting cheese on tip. Didn't see any cheese, until we dug into the nachos and saw that the tortillas had cheese on them that was dry and burnt on. We asked the waitress for some additional melted cheese and was brought back shredded cheese. I again asked if some cheese could be MELTED on. She took the nachos back to the kitchen and they added cheese on top and put it in the over, which only caused the prior cheese to burn more onto the nachos. We didn't finish it. The cashier was very nice and took off $5.00 off the cost of the bill. read more

French onion soup and caesar salad were very good. Crab cakes were quite good for this type of restaurant, with not a lot of filler. They could have used a little more flavor, but overall good. Glass of chardonnay was very nice. Good service. Would come here again. read more

Its a 5 Star for me but the only thing that ruined me Is the Texas fajitas im sorry But this Was the worst Fajitas I ever tried in my whole life The only good thing about it is their breakfast and salads in my opinion. read more

Today was our first visit to Derby's. We will be back often. It's more of a casual restaurant than a sports bar which was very nice for a family outing on a rainy afternoon. Dana was our waitress. She was great. The food was delicious! Started with salad and thier house made buttermilk ranch, best ever. The chesapeake chicken imperial was perfect. The only flaw was canned string beans. Fresh beans would have been far better. Highly suggest Derby's. read more

Bruh the food was nasty af... idk how you can mess up a salad. The chicken was dry af. All the food was terrible.. Husband said he was gonna throw up... WELL HECK THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE ONLY GOOD THING ON THE MENU. The only good thing was the free ice cream at the end. Im sure they do that to make up for the crappy meal you get read more
