A super cute little gem of a place located in the heart of Dover. Super quaint and tucked away with plenty of on street parking, as well as a parking lot in the back. Tons of seating! Lots of intentional planning went into this design. There's an indoor bar, dining room, outside seating of all kind (under tent & not), as well as a bar that has garage doors that can open to the outside. There's corn hole and other things to do. This place is a vibe with a German touch! Plenty of beers on tap, as well as some clever cocktails! They even have beer cocktails that feature their drafts. Service was exceptional! We sat at the indoor bar as it was raining. Stephanie was terrific. Very attentive and friendly. Ordered two drinks...Drunk in Love (delicious), and Beerloma (delicious). Highly recommend both of these. They had lots of other seasonal options as well that sounded delightful. Nice to see a pub theme place also craft some great drinks for the non beer drinkers. We ordered the burger on a pretzel bun and the German Street Diner. Both absolutely delicious!!! Impressive that we have both food and drink on point! No notes. The fries are great too. Don't leave without the cinnamon and sugar pretzel bites with the Carmel and white icing dipping sauce! We got out to go. Don't leave without them. Awesome!!! Such a terrific find. Loved the concept and setting. The beverages came out fast and they were nice and cold. My wife had a Strawberry Mimosa and I had a .5L Warsteiner German Pilsner. Both were tasty. The food was ok to sub sub par. My wife had the bratwurst sandwich and she enjoyed it very much. I had the schnitzel sandwich with a German Potato Salad side substituted for the fries. Well, I didn't care for the puddle of liquid that completely soaked the bottom of the sandwich bun - I had to pour it out onto the pan that it arrived on, and there were not enough napkins to keep my hands dry and clean. The pork schnitzel was over cooked, not pounded to make it tender, and the breading was dark brown, almost burnt. I was hungry so I ate it. To make matters worse, the potato salad was a fail fail fail. The fingerlings were good, but, like the sandwich, it was sitting in a pool of liquid. In this case it was oil. Tastless so it added nothing to the dish, and there was at least a 1/4" of it under the potatoes. To say it was unappetizing would be kind. I had to pour out the oil onto the pan. There is no excuse for a kitchen to make pair of mistakes like this. Sadly, no wait staff came by to check on us, which was probably a good thing. While the QR code thing is "cool" it cannot replace the customary service model where waitstaff takes the order, and either a runner or the waitstaff brings the meal, and checks in on the table at some point. I was taken aback that we had to include a tip before even seeing the food or the waitress. For a little background, my wife is a German citizen, but born here. I was a hospitality consultant for a few years. We both know what constitutes good food regardless of ethnicity. I have been to at least 5 beer gardens, and even more German and Swiss establishments. I have prepared many schnitzels, and many German potato salads. Aside from the oil slick the flavor was ok. It would have been better if they used a little of the bacon fat, together with some white vinegar and a little beef stock, as a dressing for the salad. This is really easy to make and hard to mess up, but somehow the kitchen didn't get it right. I didn't give it a one star rating because the beverages, the ambience, and my wife's sandwich was ok. I may come back at some point since we are often in Dover. But I will not be ordering the potato salad or the schintzel. To be fair, a second visit would have to be a game changer for me to not give a one star rating. Wishing you guys the best of luck. This place is a real gem in Delaware. My wife and I are in town visiting family for the week and stopped in for lunch. The place is great and has a huge well maintained outdoor area with lots of seating. They even have an outdoor covered seating area in case of rain. The service is QR based. So it's easy to order and the service is fast and friendly. They answered a couple of questions I had on menu items. They couldn't have been much nicer. If you like beer and/or cocktails you can't go wrong. I recommend the pretzel too. Big shareable and HOT. Stop by if you're in the area. You won't regret it. read more

Cool spot in Dover, especially when it's nice out. The beer garden was popping when I arrived, and the inside area (bar and tables) was mostly filled. The place mostly cleared out when the sun went down, and they closed at 9pm. My meal was delivered to the bar, but came without napkins. When I asked for napkins, I was told to go to the opposite side of the room and get them myself. I thought that was bizarre, kinda rude and not sanity (If I didn't inquire, I guess I was supposed to use my shirt or pants). The people at the bar next to me said the bartender told them to get napkins for their meals and they thought it was strange too. The Falafel Doner and fries were flavorful and filling. My one knock was that it seemed as though pickles were included in the pita mix. Pickles don't belong in a pita and weren't listed on the menu. This place seems ot have a great vibe and hopefully the napkin thing isn't bar policy. read more

Just passing through last week. Had several more hours of driving to do so was looking for a quick break and a meal. My frankfurter was great. This seems to be the specialty here. My wife ordered a salad. I ate my frank, my wife went to the window twice to ask about the salad. lots of strange looks. no salad. after 45 minutes, the salad shows up, its wrong. dressing is wrong. My wife complains and no one seems to care. Essentially, since you order and pay for your food using your I phone, I suppose they are not paid to care because they already have your money. Felt like stopping by for a burger and a drink! I wasn't sure about the location, but once we circled around downtown to the restaurant, it was stunning! It had a nice open patio with yard games and tables. I even saw a sand box for kids to play in! Definitely very unique and capable of handling a lot of people. Jess greeted us outside and informed us about the system. Since it was warm outside, we went inside for lunch a don't here was plenty of space :) I ordered just a simple cheeseburger and fries, and my husband ordered the schnitzel sandwich and a beer. While we waited, we played a few rounds of Trivial Pursuit that they had nearby. The food was honestly okay, it was a little overpriced for what we got, about $40 total for both of us. This is one of my favorite places to go to when I visit my son in Dover. Unfortunately this trip wasn't great. Some of the changes have been good, some have not. The outside area has always been great. Toys for adults and kids. Nice tents, umbrellas and fans for the hot days and cold days. You order off a scan code on the table and it's pretty easy to navigate. The drinks came out fast, the food took a little longer but it wasn't bad for a restaurant. The food was a little disappointing. I got the hummus this time. The hummus, olives, tomatoes and falafel were delicious. The pita wasn't toasted so you couldn't scoop the hummus and the cucumbers were soggy like they had been frozen. The kale salad with chicken was ok, just needed a little more dressing. The fries and beer cheese was were great. The staff and owner are all very nice. The owner checked one everyone and helped clear tables. The portions have gotten a lot smaller from when we first came here. We came here when they first opened last summer and it was fantastic! We came for New Year's Eve for the kids and it was fun and there was a lot for them to do. This trip wasn't the best but we will keep coming back because there is so much potential. read more

Tucked away, but worth the travel. Beer came out lightning quick, food was right behind it. Wide open seating with a great menu, order from your table. Plenty of stuff to do for the kids like a big gravel sandbox, Bocce, playground equipment. Large TV's for sports games. Had a great time. Food was really good and really fairly priced. We made an impromptu trip up to Dover in search of bratwurst and the obligatory lager chaser. I'll cut to the chase. We had the best time! We made fast friends with the other "elders." We loved our brats, even took a few home. And the amber lager was right on. Service was impeccable! We met the owner and exchanged military academy stories. "Ambiance" would not be an accurate descriptor to use for this place because it's not that type of dining experience. I'm just saying. We were "old school" patrons who fit right in with the young'uns. We loved the vibe there! Okay, I was totally out of my element. One skeeter bite, and I rushed inside with the Eagle Scout Cadet in tow! But that's what made it REAL! We promised we'd be back soon. Hopefully it will be on a Thursday when they have karaoke. This place is really cool. I sat outside and one of my favorite movies The Witches (the original) was playing. You sit down at a table and scan a code and order that way, and a server brings the food to you. I got the curry wurst and potato salad and it was really good. The only thing is you pay and tip before getting your food. I'd rather tip after bc a tip should be based on service. It's really not a big deal though, I'd still hang out here all the time if I lived nearby. read more

This is such an amazing addition to Dover! The food is great. The atmosphere is so family friendly. We went for the Mother's Day market and had the best time. We also went for the Pride Celebration and it was amazing. I really love that they have fun vegetarian options. Not this time. been here a few times. recent visit wasn't good. was unusually uncrowded. we were a group of 4 with 2 kids. it took forever to get our meals, and they came out one at a time. we all were done eating before the last person got their sandwich. watched other tables get served before we were. Really enjoyed the atmosphere here - the weather was cold so we went inside but outside looks great. Inside seating near the bar is a bit awkward as the long tables and benches between the posts create a barrier to get through if people are sitting back to back. There is a large projector TV on one wall that only half the seated patrons can see. Ordering was by QR code at the table and was efficient and orders came out quickly. I enjoyed the German beer flight of 4 beers pre-selected. There is not an option to choose your own beers on the flight. The pretzel was large enough for sharing and the German cheese dip that came with it was excellent - definitely appeared freshly made with chives. The server does not bring napkins with it. When we asked they told us napkins were on other side of restaurant down a hallway (out of sight). Server did not offer to get them and it was difficult to crawl through benches with seated people to get to them. I really enjoyed the overall ambiance though and would like to return and try more items on the menu and more beers. I bet it will be a very popular place when the weather is nice. read more

I came here with a bunch of people from work- most of us are retired/active duty military that were stationed in Germany so I'm so happy that we I came across this in my searches. The beer was great from what I heard. They said it was delicious. The food was absolutely great. I had the Bavarian on regular buns and came with fries that were curled but were thick and nicely battered. I ate every single one. The wings were delicous as well. Staff was great and attentive. I went with the flight if local brews, and while I figured I would like the sour..I didn't foresee liking the two IPAs more than the cider. Weird! Food is excellent traditional German beer hall fare. I have family in Berlin and they would agree. Beer choices are also great. The beer hall atmosphere is fun. Service is competent, but a few flaws. You order from your phone. I ordered water. When it never came I flagged my server who told me water is self serve around a wall. My food came with no silverware. Apparently that's self serve too. I would be ok with this IF they let you know. But they don't. The positives far outweigh these minor inconveniences and I will certainly return. Management take note....let your patrons know they need to get their own water and silverware. Or better yet, have the servers bring it. read more
