I'd likely eat here every single day if I could. I think the menu has a good variety for anyone. It's elevated bar food and that's exactly what I want for lunch! Don't drink so can't really provide any context there. I go places for the foods. I'm gluten free and they had plenty of options for me to include pizza! I ordered the fire roasted Brussels sprouts, the stuffed jalapeños, and deviled eggs for apps. My pizza was next, gluten free of course, and did not disappoint (crumbled sausage and whipped ricotta). We've found two great pizza places here recently and this is one of them! Honestly, really hard to come by good pizza in Delaware. The other menu items were serious bonuses for me since apps are lacking in this state too. Service was great, attentive enough but not over the top. Also, yes, they do offer a military discount. Not too often I give five stars, but this place deserves it. Been here a handful of times and every time has been solid. Very unassuming on the outside, but nice when you enter. As I've only been for lunch, I can't speak to the dinner service, but lunch typically has one person working, I'm assuming the owner. He is always very good. We walked in after hearing good things about this place-used to be a somewhat run down but consistently "OK" pizza joint (I had family that worked there and let's just say they never raves about cleanliness) ... anyway! Knowing it was a new pizza spot appealed to us so we headed over. Inside is not glamorous, but it looks that they redid most of it and it looks refreshed inside. Love that you can see them making pizza in the wood fire oven while you're sitting inside! Our booth had a stain on the seat and a piece of food on the table. Not great, but still willing to give it a chance. Our server was a young lady who was very knowledgeable about the menu and was super nice. She checked all of our IDs (including my mom's, and she was flattered) and gave prompt beverage service. My husband got the seasonal IPA on tap and hated it... luckily our server came over and checked in on our drinks super quickly, and she was more than happy to grab him a different IPA instead. I got the Brooklyn Lager with an ice cold glass - very refreshing. My mom got a red wine and they have generous pours here. On to the food: we started with the Brussel sprouts and they were very good. They come with bacon, shallots, balsamic drizzle, pepper flakes, and are wood-fired. Some pieces have a little char or a little kick, and the flavors were super complimentary. For pizza, we got the picante, the little Italy, and the Fruit of my loins. All of them were absolutely delicious! Can't wait to come back and try other pies. I think the only real improvement this place can make is beefing up their draft options and making sure the booths are completely clean in between patrons. read more

Can count on The Brick for a good meal and often suggest it to people visiting the area. The ambiance is nice with the brick oven at the back. So everyone can see the flames and cooking from where they are seated. They have a bar area with about 10 seats and TVs for sports that is never too loud. The service is friendly and welcoming. They now have a lit sign making it easier to locate in the shopping center. They have a large menu of beers. This visit I went with the Mediterranean pizza on the Specials menu which did not disappoint! It was delicious and unique- spinach pesto, goat cheese with eggplant and sun-dried tomatoes. read more

We started with calamari because we can't get it at home. Delicious! We split two pizzas -the Buffalo and the Little Italy. We took home enough for a snack the next day. We ordered the donuts for dessert. Ummm...yummy!! The server and hostess both got involved in a conversation about what we might be able to do that evening. There was four of us. Two kids and two adults. My first impression of the outside was, the sign is tattered and temporary. But, I moved on. We went in and were sat promptly in a dim lit dining room. There were about 25-30 tables. And in the back of the room was a gleaming red wood-fired oven. Very neat. The ceiling tiles were a little dire but, it was quant. The bar was decent and the beer list was more than decent. Prices of the beers that come from all over range from $6 - $10. Being a beer enthusiast, I know the cost and what profit would be like. Their beer menu was impressive. But, their prices were a little steep. UNIBROUE LA FIN DU MONDE - a 9% Triple-Belgian from Canada is delicious. But they wanted $9.00 for a 12oz bottle. In PA, you'd pay at the most $7.50 for it in a restaurant. A four pack is around $16. But again, moving on. I had a Milkshake IPA - Peaches and Cream. Was very nice. But a 16oz for $10 kept me at one. Wife had a Dogfish Head sour. Standard but tasty. The kids had a cheeseburger kids meal. The burger was good. The fries tasted a little mushy. It looked like they pre-cooked fries and put them on the plate inside their wood oven to hear them a second time. Not sure if that was the case, but looked like it. I had an Arrabbiata Pizza on the special list. It said it had a spicy marinara with sausage, pepperoni cups, shredded pork, pepper flakes, and fennel seeds. The pizza was cooked nicely. But it was sweet. I wouldn't call it Arrabbiata. I would call it a spicy sweet sausage pizza. It tasted like it had something sweet on it with sugar in it. Threw me off and didn't match the name but overall was a good pizza. The wife had a white pizza with broccoli. That one was better than mine. The broccoli wasn't mushy and the ricotta was nice. The service was great. The bathroom was a little dingy. Didn't look very clean or dusted in a while. The trash can was overflowing onto the floor. And this was at about 5:30. Overall, there are things they could do to really change it up but 3/5 is my rating. I would give it another half star if I could. But I can't give four. For a quick bite by the hotel, not bad. read more

Overpriced and underwhelming is what I can say. We order the wings to start and you get six little wings for 13 dollars and they had no taste. Then we ordered a pizza don't even remember which one, just know for 15 dollars you get a tiny thin pizza with no flavor either. The beer was good is all I can say. This restaurant was pretty mediocre in my opinion. We ordered the garlic knots to start and honestly they were bad. The dough was so bland and tasted like it didn't have any salt. The gemelli sausage pasta was better but honestly it tasted just as good as something from the frozen section of the grocery store. The restaurant was nice inside and it was cool to see the brick oven they use to make the pizza. Maybe if I had gotten the pizza my experience would have been a lot better. The service was also just fine. We hardly saw the server. We didn't need anything from the server during the meal but if we had it might have been hard to get the server's attention. Such great food. Crispy bottomed pizza, so much so it literally cracked and exploded when I bit into the crust. The wings are crispy and charred and delicious. The cocktails are superb. The exterior is super unassuming but super cute inside. It's really cool to see staff making your food in front of you and putting it in a huge brick oven. read more

Our search for good pizza in the Dover area led us here today. Since it was our first time and we have been disappointed so many times from other local pizza shops, we only ordered one pizza for take out. My fiancé sent me pics of the inside of the restaurant and it looked lovely! He brought home a Bianco and man, was it delicious!!! The crust had a lovely texture and I very much enjoy the slight char of a woodfired pizza. Service was fast and friendly. My only complaint is that we didn't order MORE food to try! A friend once told me the best Italian restaurants are in strip malls. The Brick-Wood Fired Eats certainly supports that theory! We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon right as they opened and were seated immediately. The focal point as you walk in is the massive brick oven at the back of the restaurant. When we saw this, we knew we had to get pizza. My companions had the margarita and mushroom pizzas which they said were excellent. But I think the highlight was "Fruit of my Loins" which was sliced peaches, prosciutto, mozzarella, basil, truffle oil topped off with a balsamic glaze. I've never had a pizza like this and the flavors melded together beautifully! Honestly it would be worth a trip down to Dover just for this pizza. The size was perfect as well. We also had the deviled eggs (with bacon!) and the garlic knots to start; both were fresh and tasty. Our server was attentive and friendly; she did a wonderful job making sure we had everything we needed.
