I hadn't been here in quite awhile. I've had mixed feelings about this place. I heard it might have new owners so I figured I'd give them a try. As soon as I walked in I was bathed in beautiful bright lighting and new booths, tables and chairs. I noticed the cleanliness right away. I had called in my order and it was hot & ready when I arrived. The staff were friendly & happy to serve. This was always the better choice in pizza for the area. I've tried them all. I'd say as close to a North NJ/NY pizza as you can get. I'm a transplant from those areas. The crust had a good flavor and crunch. The tomato sauce had a good flavor with a touch of natural sweetness and didn't detract from the cheese. Which was a creamy and delicately stretchy mozzarella that didn't have a bubble gum texture. It also wasn't salty. All ingredients blended well together. The staff handed me their new bright & colorful paper menu with some great new items & traditional ones. We miss the old restaurant! We got a pizza and had to eat around the bubbles, and black on the bottom but the crust was light. The fries were flimsy but dark at the same time.When you are a new restaurant you are supposed to impress the locals. I think it lasted a month. Bella-Villa has soups, and it has a small salad menu, but there is one thing at which this restaurant obviously excels: CARBS. Pasta, strombolis, pizzas, the whole works. Not a great place for a diabetic, which now that I mention it makes me think that it's not a great place for Smyrna, since - given the girth of the people I see around town - I am fairly sure that a sizable portion of Smyrna must be diabetic. That being said, the food is...OK. We came to celebrate a coworker's departure for greener pastures, and group-ordered pizza. It's the average, freshly-baked, goop-pie of a pizza you'll find in any small-town pizzeria. The IT guy at our firm is kind of quiet and soft-spoken, but I know he's a covert food snob. At the table I summoned his secret identity by asking him how he likes this food, and he goes: "Well, it's food." Carry on, my wayward son; well put. The entire restaurant reeked with the acrid odor of something burnt; guess someone had left a pizza in the oven too long. The tables weren't terribly clean, and the little plastic stand-up menu holders were sticky with the grease of a thousand hands. The lights were turned down low in an attempt to be stylish...or perhaps to hide some of the dingy décor. I felt like there should have been an arcade game in the corner of this teen hang-out, but instead they had a flat-screen TV up on the wall that cycled through a bunch of insipid factoids and cluttered adverts for local companies done by some graphic-design tyro. Our meal experience kind of lumbered along until we all looked across the table at each other and realized the pizza was pretty much gone (I know I didn't go after it with all that much gusto). This experience was a pretty recent one, as I had decided to stop by for a lunch. On first glance I was a bit on the nervous side, in that the place looks like it's a needed a remodeling. It looks a bit like a mix between a bar and a partially remodeled 80's restaurant. I can tell you the dropped ceiling in the restaurant area needs to be replaced a bit, due to the coffee staining and drooping tiles in one or two spots. Bit too sleazy for the family, but okay for a cheaper bar. The woman who was on shift was the only one out there and a bit brusque, but she wasn't snotty or anything. She could have maybe finished cleaning the restaurant area, but she was the only person on shift, so I don't blame her for focusing up front until she was free. She got my order, and actually was pretty knowledgeable about the twin slices I got. If you get a sausage-pepperoni mix, they actually make it double-dough so it can hold the grease, cheese, and sauce. And let me tell you, those slices were amazing; greasy like Greek Pizza, but amazing nonetheless. I did have some fun that time, in that other workers came in wearing wifebeaters and so on to work the ovens. The waitress/front manager also gave prompt feed back to her cooks, so I can compliment them for their communication, if not subtlety. In short, decent bar, good pizzeria, and iffy, but okay service. I got food to go from Bella-Villa for the first time last night. I was super excited because I just moved to the area and it is super close! I ordered a Sicilian plain cheese pizza, a chicken Alfredo pizza and some cheese fries. When I picked it up I was blown away by how cute it is inside! Not what I was imagining at all! The staff were really nice and helpful. I got the food home and enjoyed most of it. The chicken Alfredo pizza didn't live up to my previous pizza endeavors. The chicken was obviously canned, and it was sitting in a pool of grease. However, not the worst I've had that's for sure! I know that they are probably short staffed and don't have much business right now, which would explain the canned chicken, (I hope). My husband and I have eaten there for the past 8 years. We had excellent service when Tina was working and not anywhere as great when she wasn't there. Now that she is not there a lot of the time (haven't seen her in a couple months) the service is just horrible. The service is very very slow, the employees ALWAYS look miserable and the atmosphere is not what it use to be. We will still go there, but, not anywhere nearly as often. There are so many other places that treat us better and have better service that appreciate us buying from them. Such a disappointment on how it is going downhill fast. Customer service is absolutely horrible. Was put on hold and literally forgotten about for over 10 mins before hanging up. Returned the call and put on hold again 5 mins before anyone took the order. Over an hr wait for delivery and once my cheese steak did finally come it was disgusting! The bread was stale , very very little steak , onions were not fried but just raw onion thrown on and the cheese wasn't even melted on the sandwich! I had a very bad experience with "Momma", who runs the joint. Now, I will preface this by making it clear that the food was still decent, but the service I received was awful. When I called to place my order, I could not hear "Momma" on the phone. I asked politely (and only asked once) for her to please repeat herself because I could not *hear* and I was met with a big scoff and she handed me off to another employee. When I finished placing my order with this employee, they hang up after just replying "ok, order number 3" to what I wanted. None of this bothered me too much at this point, as I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe they were busy or such. However, when I arrived, I gave my order number, and "Momma" comes up and says very rudely, "oh so it was YOU on the phone?", and I was taken aback. She then proceeded to say rude and demeaning things, such as like mumbling "can't f---ing understand mama eh..." and, as we got to my total, with a angry face and a roll of the eyes, she says, "you understand 20 dollars?!". And all during that time I can hear her clearly bickering to herself or other employees about dealing with me, and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I could sense the customer waiting next to me was uncomfortable as well. I spoke with the friend who recommended the place to me, and has been going to them nearly since they opened, and he said that he has stopped going to them for a few periods of time because of this type of rude and unprofessional treatment, not just from "Momma" but other employees too. So, in review, the Sicilian pizza I ordered was pretty good, and you could tell the sauce was made fresh and is very unique, but be warned, "Momma" and her employees can be very rude, and without much reserve. read more

This is my favorite place in Smyrna to get pizza. The crust is thin and crispy with just the right amount of sauce. It is always just out of the oven hot too. This is a great place to take the kids for a pizza! I have practically ordered one of everything at one time or another from the Bella- Villa menu and I have always enjoyed it immensely. Besides the pizza I think my favorite thing on the menu is the Antipasto Salad. The Antipasto is piled high with Italian meats and cheeses. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Their subs are out of this world. Don't forget to save room for dessert the Bella- Villa is the only place in town to get a cannoli. I ordered the stuffed pizza with cheesesteak, pepperoni, sausage, and a order of garlic knots. The stuffed pizza had garlic pieces and seasonings which made it very flavorful. However, the garlic knots were dry and barely had any garlic. I asked for extra garlic on my second time ordering the knots which should already be included since they are called garlic knots and was charged extra. I don't know if it's because I watch Dave with Barstool Pizza Reviews and expect more now, but I just ate 4 slices (I was hungry, and watched 2 fizzes pizza reviews-One bite everyone knows the rules) And I wasn't blown away, or savoring the moment. Let me break it down for you the consumer and maybe the establishment. 1. I did order it well done, I like a crisp crust, a nice crunch. So I'm not sure if this hurt my experience? But the crust was a bit chewy? I mean I had to really work at it and chew, chew, chew. 2. There was a smell coming from the pizza that didn't smell like cheese, sauce or bread. I won't lean to much into this one because I did eat 4 slices. And if you know what I am talking about, add a comment. 3. The sauce was good, no issues there. 4. The cheese, it didn't string, wasn't overly melted, more like it stayed in place? 5- last, I like this business, I like seeing the same faces, but I want to make sure they haven't changed anything. To start off I am not a thin crust kind of guy. My wife loves it so I gave it a shot. The pizza is great, especially the meat lovers. The ingredients don't have that prepackaged, frozen taste that accompany so many pizza places. I do not know about the actual service. I only get delivery, but the pizza always arrives hot and the drivers are courteous. All in all I have to say out of all the pizza I have eaten it is definitely in my top 5. read more

Never encountered this "Mama" character that a few previous customers have referenced but I like this place. I don't go there anymore because I've eliminated carbs from my diet but I like it. I'm not really a fan of their pizza though I've eaten quite a bit of it but their Cheese Steak Deluxe (I think it's called) is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had in my life. Like...whoa! Seriously good stuff! They only lose the one star because I don't particularly care for their pizza and once (ONLY ONCE) did I go there and have remarkably terrible service by a younger waitress. I haven't been here in a while but my elderly mother was hankering for an Italian sub. Ordered it over the phone with most of the fixings, minus the raw onions, and hot peppers. Picked it up 20 minutes later, this was during the dinner hour, Saturday at 6 pm. So WOW! We got a large size and it was so loaded with everything it was falling off into the paper wrap. Needless to say, we could only eat half of our portion and am saving the rest for tomorrow. It was spiced just right, the meat tasted great and the lettuce was crisp and crunchy. LOVE IT! Bella-Villa is owned by family members of the guy who owns Trevi Ristorante across the street and the two places couldn't be more different unless they served different cuisines. The pizza at Bella-Villa is not good. It's greasy, chewy (not is a good way), and bland. I've had pizza from there a few times now and the last time was certainly the last. It wasn't the bad pizza that has totally turned me away, it was the incredibly rude service. If you read another review here on Yelp, you'll see a reference to the older lady working the counter and phone as "Momma". She is a rude and miserable woman that only cares about the regulars. I've always thought she was a bit odd but my previous encounters with her were for just a couple seconds so I didn't think anything of it. However, the last time I was there, I had to wait a while because they had misquoted how long it would be when I ordered for pickup. I ended up standing there trying to mind my own business for roughly 10 minutes. She kept glaring at me and then proceeded to ask "You're not from around here are you?" Fair question. "No, I'm from Syracuse, NY". Fair answer, right? "Why you move here? To many people like you come in here, don't know good pizza takes time." I didn't say anything in response but I was only there because they told me it'd be ready then. She continued to grumble to herself until one of the regulars came in and then she was all smiles. The second he left though, back to grumbling. My order comes ready and she asks for payment. I hand her my card and she rolls her eyes, sighs obnoxiously, and stomps over to the machine. I guess she doesn't like paying credit card fees but that's the cost of doing business these days. If it wasn't already bad enough, she starts having trouble with the machine so she starts swearing (I have Italian family members so I know the good ones) and yelling in Italian at it. Then she starts yelling at who I can only assume is her daughter to help her while pointing at me and swearing under her breath. I was floored. Needless to say, that's not how you treat customers. DON'T come here unless you like terrible pizza or you want "Momma" to tell you how little she cares about your business. read more

First, I called and placed my order for 2 pizza's, we bought a large cheese and a sicilian cheese and we waited about 10 minutes before leaving my house as I live 4 miles away. I show up and my order hasn't even been started yet, mind you the restaurant is completely empty, I give them the benefit of doubt and they just need some more time, when I here the pizza maker say, when did he call, where's the order? So I go sit in my car to wait since my entire 5 person family came as this was supposed to be a fast trip. So we wait, I walk back it to see the first pizza get put in the box and then 5 minutes later I see my sicilian get put in a box. I watch for another 5 minutes as my food sits on the back counter just sitting there waiting for someone to care to call me over so I can leave. I am now about an hour in from when I placed my order originally. So I finally get my order and head home. We open the the box to find cold and burnt sicilian pizza crust, hard as a rock the dogs couldn't even eat through it. The Large regular cheese was not burnt, but was sub par at best, I would have rather ate at Xbos! We will not ever go back and we do pizza once a week. read more
