This is what passes for Picahna . 1.5 inches wide and 5 inches long.

We had high hopes, a long drive getting there etc. put it this way, the "prime" flatiron steak came out cubed and wasn't comparable to steaks nearby at Prime 225, Shafers or the Chesapeake house. No worries , that wasn't my plate. I ordered the picahna, which I'm quite fond of, having had Picahna for the last two weeks. Once in D.C. and once at home. I should mention that I purchase Picahna about every other week when I drive north from D.C. and pass through rosedale. This Picahna was not what I would consider a Picahna steak. Perhaps a Picahna roast stripped of all fat and the edge of it at that l, which contains a lot of gristle. For the Ashby's , I did not mention this to our server whom was polite. I don't want anything taken off the check, ever. What I would like to see is some standards so the chef understands when to put the last cut towards something else instead of the plated course. If you're going to change the menu and add Picahna...maybe try some at a Brazilian steakhouse first. Also who decided to cube the flat iron steak? Was that a handful of end cuts also?? The peanut butter bomb was to die for!

We went to Cantwell's on Thanksgiving and had a marvelous time. The food was abundant and delicious. The service was outstanding. The ambiance was warm and inviting.

Great farm to table restaurant in historic Odessa in a building est. 1822 . I loved this 19th century tavern ! Perfect med Jammin' burger with arugula, tomato jam, and fresh burrata cheese with balsamic and basil. Fresh buffalo mozzarella wrapped around a filling of soft curd deliciousness. Replaced those fries with a beautiful side salad with homemade blue cheese. Dining companion had plant based portobello burger with blue cheese/arugula and side Caesar salad... delish. Impeccable service start to finish even with lunch rush.

We were in town and heard this was a great place for dinner. We scored outside reservations and it was a perfect night in LSD! We had a terrific server and the food was so fresh and delicious! No complaints at all! Terrific for a Friday!

In the area and decided to come for dinner. For an appetizer we ordered the nachos with chicken. It came out so hot and piled high with chicken and melted cheese! For dinner i had the Salmon ciabatta sandwich, it tasted fresh and the crispy ciabatta roll just made it even better. We also ordered the Shrimp enchiladas and loved them. Jen our server was excellent, constantly bringing out water and more drinks. We loved our food and service was awesome. Nice bar area as well. We will be back!

CANTwells...get it? Food: My cheesesteak hoagie was good. Great portion. Good choose of roll. Great shave of beef. The fries were very lack luster. Just very little to be desired. Service: can't do well Granted we sat at tables surrounding the bar...but still...we had to constantly go up to the bar to ask to get served. You know who did have her attention...these fellas sitting at the bar. Go figure. Ambiance: well....its a tavern affair.. You are engulfed in the history as soon as you step through the door.

    Swordfish served on mushroom risotto

Our server Christina was amazing, she made us feel so welcomed and her service was perfect. I had the swordfish special with mushroom risotto. We started with wings and pretzel bites and finished with a chocolate peanut butter bomb. The room we dined in was quaint and comfortable with a fireplace.

I wish I could say I was excited after dining there for the first time but I have to say I was left somewhat disappointed. I can overlook most things, but when dining out i go for the food. And the food was just OK. We started out with cocktails. Two of us ordered from the unique signature cocktail menu and one of us just decided to have their usual Kir Royale. Of these three drinks, the Kea Royale was the best. Neither of the others thought that their drink was so great that they would order it again. A young man showed up at our table with three small dishes, asking, "Are you familiar with amuse bouche"? Yes I am. I don't need an 18 or year old to try to make me feel like he knows more than I do. It was condescending at best and just pretentious. He explained it was compressed cantaloupe with a mint oil and a touch of salt. If I had closed my eyes, I never in a million years would have tasted anything except a little bit of salt and a little bit of water. It was flavorless. For appetizers, we shared the snails, the rabbit poutine, and the foie gras. Both the snails and the poutine came with a sauce, and the servers almost insisted on pouring the sauce over the appetizer. One of us opted to stop the server because why would you bring it on the side and then not let me elect how I want it on there. That just did not make sense. There's no theater here you're just pouring. The snails were served in a vol-au-vent and were kind of lost in the too tall puff pastry. Both the snails and the poutine were lacking some serious flavor. The best bite of the appetizers was the piece of foie gras which was served on a comparatively mammoth-sized sleepy zucchini bread and with pickled local strawberries. I didn't care for the combination and for the price, the two bite piece of foie gras was not worth it. (understand you can drive 3 miles to a restaurant that puts more of it on a burger for that equivalent price.-plus you get an 8 oz burger). The pickled strawberry did not work either. We also order the "bread service." I don't like paying for bread but was intrigued by the bone marrow butter upsell. For $20 you get 5 slices of bread, some salted butter, and at most a tablespoon of bone marrow butter. Skip it. Not worth it. For entrées, we ordered the salmon and the duck for two. The salmon was supposed to be seared, but the presentation side looked more like it had been steamed or poached. Perhaps they seared the skin side, but this particular diner did not like salmon skin, so that was lost on it. The diner did not like couscous, which was the side that came with this dish so they asked for the pomme puree as a substitute. The potato purée was also lacking seasoning and of course we got charged $8 for the substitution even though this potato purée is a side for other entrées. The server who took our order recommended the duck. I'm a big fan of duck so our other dining partner indulged me and shared this entrée with me. The duck came with two breasts, two confit legs, baby carrots, cooked in duck fat and a frisée salad. This was probably enough for three people because we took home 1/4 of a duck breast, a whole leg and plenty of carrots. The duck breast was well rendered of the fat, and the skin was crispy. I like a medium rare duck breast but the underside was very rare as if it was never flipped in the pan. The leg was delicious (probably tossed in the deep fryer before serving to crisp the skin) but the carrots were heavy with fat. Very little frisée was served (almost as a garnish ) and it really needed more of it that acid from the dressing to lighten things up. Again the server tried to pour the sauce that came with it over the breast without asking if I wanted it first. I stopped them because I know how much I want and I know where I want it. I don't need you to do that for me. One cocktail, one appetizer and one entree per person was $100 per person on average. No tax in DE Service here is amateurish with training. I have already cited a few things. The waitress who took our order poured water for each of us spilling a significant amount when pouring one glass, said I'm sorry I misjudged. Bad depth perception, she said and continued on with her opening spiel which we got to hear in almost the exact same fashion as she greeted other tables. No offering to change the tablecloth of its two foot diameter circle of wetness. She just kept it moving. We came dressed business casual. We were the best dressed there. Lots of shorts and casual wear. This is not a fancy place. People appear to come as they are. I just did not get that I want to come back here feeling. Service was not great. Food was just ok and not ok for the price. Atmosphere is more American bar than French bistro. I am not super charged to go back.

This in the backyard of Bohemian Manor which is a winery, which we also visited. It's down a hill, but they offer frequent golf carts trips to patrons to assist. One driver met us halfway as we were heading up, which was nice. The cocktails they served for movie night were $15 each. They were made well. On one hand I want to try again for dinner but for the price, I'm not sure it's worth it. Pros: Amazing service - very attentive server(s); we had one in training/shadowing and she was just as good as our primary server, offering refills, clearing plates, overall greet banter Cocktails are fantastic - had the Minnie Ripperton and loved it - creamy yet refreshing and bright which is a tough combo to achieve Cons: Hidden entrance - after circling what looked like an abandoned building 2x we finally figured out the entrance was in the backy and down a set of stairs. I now understand the "speakeasy vibe" but the clutter in the front made the building look abandoned or under construction; not a great start to the experience for us Food service - the other couple we were dining with got their entrees about 10 minutes before ours and we were some of the first orders & diners of the day. Usually you might hold the whole table or refire some of the dishes so it all comes out at the same time. They finished theirs before we even got our to start, making it a strange eating experience Small print menu - with the low light of the speakeasy, the menu had the teeeeniest print I've ever seen making it very difficult to read the menu options. We also didn't realize that the menu changes/is seasonal (not called out on the website) so many of the items we had wanted to try were not an available option. I love a menu that changes but hope it's indicated on the website (aka: sample menu, subject to seasonal change) Hit-n-miss: Fried chicken Benedict- huge portions, amazing biscuits and perfectly poached (but unseasoned?) eggs. I don't know if the hollandaise soaked into the fried chicken or never existed at all - and that's the thing you want with a Benedict. If it existed, it never reached the biscuits because while they were good, but were completely dry Shrimp and grits - perfectly cooked, great consistency, but very under-seasoned Water - just an observation and maybe it's just the local tap water flavor but it tasted off or as off the soap hadn't been washed from the glasses Pro Tip: be aware of the automatic gratuity in some circumstances; if you don't know, check the website before your meal!
