Such a great first time visit to this place! This place gives upscale vibes without the upscale prices but also without slacking on food quality and taste. We went for their weekend brunch and it was great. Their menu was versatile and unique, with a bunch of great breakfast and lunch options. They even had a DJ during the brunch hours and he was great too, spinning some fun, upbeat songs while our group was hanging out. Our server was Selena and she was incredible, mixing up some amazing cocktails and always being kind, friendly, and attentive to us. We loved our brunch experience and look forward to trying this spot again for dinner soon!

My husband and I stopped in for an impromptu Happy Hour (which they call Social Hour), and I'm so glad we did. The atmosphere and vibe were fantastic. We sat at the bar, and the bartenders were all very friendly and attentive. We ordered the cheese curds, coconut shrimp, and seafood egg rolls. Everything was delicious, but the coconut shrimp and seafood egg rolls definitely stole the show, we ordered seconds of both! For drinks, we each had an Old Fashioned, which were sweet and smoky. Parking can be a little tight in the lot directly in front of the restaurant, but there's an additional lot right across the street that's very convenient. I hear they have live bands on certain nights so we will definitely be back for a date night.

Great spot for date night, dinner with friends or solo date. The service was good, generous with the food portions. Check it out

Beautiful restaurant with great staff! Our waitress Jalen was amazing. She served our large group of 19. We were well taken care of. I had the jerk shrimp with grits and a delicious expresso martini!. Try the strawberry cheesecake pancakes if you are really hungry!

Just left Jackson House again because I was craving those potatoe skins I was telling ya'll about. Unfortunately, they didnt have them today. However, this forced me to try something new. I ordered the Fried Lamb Chops & Seafood Egg Rolls. So glad I did because both were THE BOMB! The fried lamb chop was soooo tender. It came with a side of hot honey sauce that tasted homeade. And DONT get me started on the seafood egg rolls! The filling of the egg rolls were so good but the kicker was the rolls being tossed in garlic parm sauce after. Not to mention, there was a side of chipotle aioli sauce for dipping. I also tried my husbands calamari and it was good too.

This is a very nice restaurant. The servers were really nice and friendly. The service was excellent. We had 630 reservations and we arrived a little early and they seated us right away. We ordered our drinks and appetizers. And we received it right away. We ordered our entrees and it was amazing that once we finished our Appetizers, they were there with our entrees. The food tasted great and the atmosphere was great. We will return to try other foods on the menu! Husband enjoyed his Pasta and I really enjoyed my Salmon

This place is fantastic. We sat at bar and had a great time. This was our first time and our bartender gave us some great drink and food selections. Food was amazing. It a nice place and we will be back..

I heard good things about this place when it first opened I finally tried it and they barely had any food listed on their menu and the food was cold and overly salty.

Been looking forward to trying another new Middletown restaurant. Place was very busy on a Tuesday evening. Service was good. Food came out Very slow. Our oysters came out right with our entree with some apologies. The margarita was good, a little too on the sweet side for me. Our entrees were good, pink on the smash burger was new for me but as someone that doesn't mind pink it was ok. If you don't like any pink be careful. We know how all new places still have bumps to figure out so we will be back again to try something else.

Stuffed chicken

Would've given 3.5 but isn't an option. The food was ok. Presentation was nice but food wasnt hot by the time we got it. The salmon was a bit slimy in the middle wish it was cooked a few minutes longer. The flavor was good though. The calamari was good but wish it had a dipping sauce. Well probably try it again . We want to try brunch one day. I forgot to add they have one if the cleanest restrooms I've ever seen in a restaurant!

As this location only opened a little over a week ago, I am going to believe that's the reason for why I cannot give it 5 stars at this time. I made a reservation but I arrived about 30 minutes before to which I was promptly seated, however noticed that I didn't truly need a reservation for this Sunday's brunch. Maybe many people were traveling or decided to stay in, but considering this is still a new restaurant in the area I did expect it to be crowded. My main concern was that I was seated and it took about 10 minutes before anyone even greeted me. I noticed all the waitstaff and manager walking around me and initially was wondering if I was invisible, but I think maybe my coming in early the host didn't communicate to the waitresses therefore it was not clear who's table I was. I noticed a table that was sat after me was promptly greeted, maybe it was because it a 5 of them and only myself for brunch that led to that. Either way the young lady came over and didn't even apologize for the wait as she looked right at me when she and the other waitress were trying to figure it out then went to the host station before coming over to me. I say this because all aspects of service is very important especially for a new restaurant and management needs to communicate this. Oh and I did find it odd that I was asked what type of water I wanted by my escort to table, it really threw me off and perhaps that should take place as usually expected after seated. Also, I noticed my waitress poured another table's water into their glasses, but did not do the same for me. Consistency in service is a must! I decided go order less than I planned because while I gave grace for the wait the fact that there was no acknowledgment of it, that changed my desire to explore the menu. I ordered a Lavender Elixir cocktail which was very tasty, however it was missing the flower as indicated on menu and other reviews. I asked the waitress for their top sellers and she suggested the Chicken and Waffles and their breakfast plate which I went with the Chicken and Waffles with a side of scrambled eggs with American. The eggs were cooked very well however it is clear that they were liquid eggs and not 2 whole eggs as indicated on the menu; the latter being my preference. I did add some pepper and the eggs included chives (not indicated on menu so if have issue with that inform) but I was pleasantly pleased with the taste prior to adding the pepper. The waffle pieces were warm and along with the syrup they were delectable. The chicken was a chicken steak piece that was fried perfectly, however something was missing in the seasoning (thinking some pepper/cayenne) that made me have to add some hot sauce to it. I will give them a plus to my stars because nothing was overly salty! I gave the middle of the road rating because it was just so so to me. The ambience is fantastic, especially for Middletown, and I really enjoyed the musical entertainment during brunch. I'm not going to go out of my way to go again any time soon, but I would give them another try especially since dinner reviews seem to be highly rated.

We had a dinner reservation and arrived about 30 mins early but we were seated promptly. We found it odd that we were asked what type of water we wanted by the front door before being seated. They could easily ask after you're seated. The non tap waters were $10+. The waitress was attentive and made sure our food was to our liking. We order crab and artichoke dip as an appetizer. It was good but for the price it wasn't worth it. It was small and came with an even smaller amount of chips. We asked for more chips which they brought out but after looking at the bill they charged an extra 2.50 for barely bringing a small bowl of chips. Overall the food we ordered was good although expensive. I would only return on a special occasion. This time we were celebrating a birthday which we noted in the reservation but they didn't acknowledge that at all. I would mention it at the door if you want it to be special.

Rack of lamb
Lan N.

Food was delicious. We had the poutine, shared the whole rack of lamb and beignets for dessert. Everything was delicious and they even spilt up the rack into two separate plates for us. Only gave 4 stars because we were going to wait for table and hostess said it would be a long time, only to observe 4 empty tables that were never sat the whole time we were there. Recommend you making reservations if you want a table

Clandestino - Looking towards the bar area

Clandestino has grown up, literally. What began as a small operation in Frederick has moved into a…read morelarger space, and the expansion suits them well. This is Puerto Rican pitorro, also known as ron cañita, made with care and intention rather than gimmickry. Many local liquor stores now carry the brand, and it is well worth picking up a bottle, but visiting the distillery is an experience in itself. The founder is a fellow Puerto Rican born retired military member, a background I share, and like me, he has put down roots in Maryland. That story is reflected clearly in the brand's own framing, "Puerto Rican born, Maryland made." The space feels grounded and unpretentious, and that sensibility carries through to the hospitality. We arrived late on a Saturday and were still welcomed warmly, never rushed. We were taken care of by the founder's daughter, who was exceptionally kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. She guided us through a flight that included the traditional pitorro, almond, pineapple, coffee, coconut chai, and several seasonal offerings. The flavors were thoughtful and well balanced; even the infused expressions retained a clear rum backbone rather than drifting into novelty. We enjoyed them enough to leave with several bottles. This is artisanal pitorro done right, rooted in Puerto Rican tradition and confidently made in Maryland. Buying it locally is convenient, but going to the distillery is where the people, the story, and the spirit fully come together.

This in the backyard of Bohemian Manor which is a winery, which we also visited. It's down a hill, but they offer frequent golf carts trips to patrons to assist. One driver met us halfway as we were heading up, which was nice. The cocktails they served for movie night were $15 each. They were made well. The food: chicken tenders and old bay fries, as well as brisket and pulled chicken was good. I enjoyed watching JAWS while we snacked and enjoyed our drinks. It was cold by the water, so we didn't hang til the end but it was a good time while we could handle it. I really wanted to highlight the staff here in this review. Everyone was kind and accommodating, ready to help if you needed anything. We came around 11:30 in the morning for a wine tour and Lisa encouraged us to go down and enjoy ourselves despite them not being open yet. The bartenders are the heart of the experience. They don't just pour drinks; they create them. There's real skill and artistry behind the bar, and the conversation is as good as the cocktails. You can tell they care about balance, technique, and presentation. The Walk in the Garden gin cocktail is the perfect example: bright, layered flavors, premium ingredients, and that lavender garnish that hits your nose before the first sip. The scent alone sets the stage for the drink. It's thoughtful, elegant, and exactly what a craft cocktail should be. The food holds its own right alongside the drinks. The skillet meatballs come out tender and full of flavor, the kind of dish that disappears faster than you expect. The potato skins are crisp, satisfying, and exactly what you want with a cocktail in hand. And the homemade Baileys cheesecake is the kind of dessert you plan to share but end up guarding with your fork. It's rich without being heavy, with that unmistakable homemade touch. One of the best parts of Hummingbird to Mars is the tapas-style menu. You can eat as much or as little as you want, a couple of small plates with drinks, or a full progression from appetizers to dessert. It gives you the freedom to shape the night however you want, without committing to oversized entrées or predictable bar food. And that's the bigger point: places like this don't happen by accident. They come from creativity, risk-taking, and a commitment to doing things well. If we don't support small businesses that put this level of care into their craft, we'll be left with nothing but the same chains serving the same menus everywhere you go. Hummingbird to Mars is the antidote to that; personal, inventive, and genuinely memorable. From the first sip to the last bite, it's a place that delivers an experience, not just a night out. It's worth supporting, worth returning to, and worth celebrating.
