Cute decor. Fun servers. Spacious booths. We enjoyed our food. The beet salad was delicious with hints of citrus. Enjoyed the butternut squash pasta. White linen was well balanced. Don't skip on the dessert - it's delicious and unique! We had a hot cocoa brulee and a banana pudding. They were attentive to us celebrating special occasions and put candles in our dessert.

Myself and four friends dined here last week. I was visiting from out of town and Reds' came highly recommended by one of my local friends. This spot was super cute and cozy. Upon walking in, we were greeted by the gentleman who would double as our server. He was wonderful and attentive and I wish I got his name! For my meal, I had the smash burger. I also ordered a side of broccolini which I ended up sharing with the table because it was a very generous portion. The burger and accompanying side of fries were quite tasty! We were all very happy with our meals. I would absolutely want to return to Reds' Bistro next time I am in the area!

My husband and I had something to celebrate, so we decided to go to Red Bistro for a Martini and to split their amazing Ceasar salad before our dinner at home. Sadly, they replaced their unique Ceasar which had big leafs, capers and great croutons, with what seemed like a bag salad, and brown edged pieces, so not a fresh one. The martinis arrived sometime after the salad even though the place was very slow, but we are used to the bartender's snail pace. We are not giving up on this lovely restaurant because we do like the vibe. Just hoping this is a one off. But to their great Ceasar, RIP.

You would not know it, but this is the beet salad.

We grabbed dinner on a recent Saturday at 5:15. Two of us ordered the cioppino -Unfortunately, the execution was inconsistent. One bowl arrived flaming hot, while the other was lukewarm with soggy bread. We sent the cold one back and they did remove it from the bill. Portion-wise, it was underwhelming: approximately two clams, three mussels, no crab, and overall not what we expected for the price point. For a seafood stew at that cost, we were hoping for a more generous and balanced presentation. We also ordered a beet salad that came under an odd covering of sliced apples. They Mary's chicken was rubbery. The sourdough bread, nice servers, and generous wine pour were notable, but not enough to save the meal or have us come back.

The service was amazing and fast. Our two year old was acting her worst and the servers were very helpful. The food though, I felt like could be better. I hoped I didn't end up with just a steak on my plate like the pics. But alas they were plated separately. The angus steak wasnt medium and still dry somehow. It was more medium rare/rare. The drinks were very good. My partner said his duck was overcooked a little. The French onion soup was very very salty. It was everything a tad bit off. But the Christmas tree they had was beautiful and the decorations. I'm glad they kept them up late!

FOOD - Spring Salad: mixed greens, carrot ribbons, strawberries, candied pecans, cubed goat cheese, avocado, with strawberry dressing. This was tasty and a nice, light starter. 4.5/5 - Duck Leg Confit: duck leg with braised cabbage, fried kale, apple in a mango raspberry sauce. This was soooo good! I highly recommend it. I've never had fried kale before and I'm obsessed. And the duck meat was fall off the bone. 5/5 - Vanilla Crémeux: caramelized apples, brown butter crumble with meringue. Light and creamy. Not overly sweet. 4.5/5 SERVICE: Steve was amazing! He made friendly, observant, and made great recommendations! 5/5 FINAL THOUGHTS: I would definitely come back. The food was so good. The only thing that was kinda ehhh was I did say it was our anniversary when I made reservations online but it must have been missed. No anniversary greetings or any mentioning of it at all. Oh, well.

Steve was fabulous

We were celebrating our son's 29th birthday. Steve made the night fabulous. The oysters and duck were amazing. We love Loomis!

Ask the Community - Reds' Bistro

Is there a dress code?

It's a nice place but not stuffy, I would say just no pajama pants:)

Does Red's still have the bone marrow and clams appetizer?

They were not on menu on 08/01/2002.

What is the corkage fee?

A review stated the fee. I believe it was 25.00.

The BBQ was decent, although I wish the brisket had more moist cuts and larger portions. Garlic bread was great, and the dirty grilled cheese were solid choices. We had our kids with us, and the servers and staff were so helpful and kind despite their controlled chaos. We really appreciated them for that. Prices are reasonable and manageable, even for our family of 4. Parking is available adjacent in the lots behind the restaurant. Casual/Tahoe-esque vibe with cozy, woody/cabin feel that's great for dinner and catching up with friends and family. Beers and drinks were great! Selection was on point and the cocktails were creative and delicious as well. Recommended.

I usually go for the dirty grilled cheese, always comes out great (tons of meat), looking and tasting delicious. Tonight I made a different choice, thought I'd try a bit healthier option with the meat sampler chicken. Now usually when I have been to bbq spots you get like 1/2 chicken so I was VERY shocked when the smallest piece of sliced chicken breast came out on a little side plate. Was a strange presentation and immediately had me disappointed in my choice. In fairness, the chicken tasted nice, was pretty dry though and barely warm, but good flavor at least (needed sauce so wasn't so dry). It was maybe 4-5 ounces of chicken which seems a bit skimpy for the price. My side salad with blue cheese dressing was good as usual. They should really consider at least more chicken and better plating though! Got my usual, very berry refresher, maybe a new bartender tonight? Wasn't as good as usual, but everyone has an off night. Overall though, love this place, still gave a good rating and of course will be back.

We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant for the first time, and unfortunately,…read morewhat should have been a lovely afternoon turned into an incredibly disappointing experience. We arrived around 1:20 PM. The restaurant was busy but certainly not packed, with several open tables. My daughter and I were dining with my young granddaughter, so when we were offered a two-person table, we politely asked if we could wait for something larger to accommodate a high chair. The hostess told us it would be approximately 30 minutes. While I understand that restaurants sometimes stagger seating, it seemed odd that we could be seated immediately at a smaller table but would need to wait 30 minutes for a larger one when several were visibly available. We ended up waiting more than 30 minutes, and honestly, it felt as though we'd been forgotten. I'll start with something positive: the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful. The plants, decor, and overall aesthetic are gorgeous. Unfortunately, that's where most of the positives ended. Once we were finally seated, our server, Yuliia, immediately wanted to take our order before we'd even had a chance to look at the menu. Since this was our first visit and several menu items were unfamiliar to us, we wanted a few minutes to look everything over. She seemed visibly irritated by this and repeatedly looked at her watch. I understand the restaurant closes at 3 PM, but at this point, we still had plenty of time to order and enjoy our meal. Instead, we were made to feel rushed and unwelcome almost immediately. We ordered the Varenyky to share, and I will say that this was easily the highlight of our entire experience. They were delicious! Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. My daughter ordered the Salmon Benedict and specifically requested that her eggs be cooked a little more than usual because she didn't want runny egg whites. Our server responded by telling her that would take more time. My daughter clarified that she was perfectly fine waiting and that she wasn't asking for overcooked yolks, just fully cooked whites. When our food arrived, her Benedict had been prepared with scrambled egg whites instead of poached eggs. This was absolutely not what she ordered or requested. She immediately brought the mistake to another server's attention, and he offered to bring out poached eggs. Here's where things became especially frustrating. Bringing out two poached eggs on the side does NOT correct an improperly prepared Eggs Benedict. The entire dish is meant to be assembled together, with the poached eggs and hollandaise sauce complementing everything underneath. Adding poached eggs on top of an already prepared dish of scrambled egg whites completely defeats the purpose. Our server, Yuliia, then appeared holding two poached eggs in a cup and rather rudely asked, "Do you want these?" Not once did anyone offer to remake the meal correctly. Not once did anyone offer to remove the incorrectly prepared dish from our bill or provide any other reasonable resolution. Mistakes happen in restaurants. I completely understand that. But when a customer receives something entirely different from what they ordered, the appropriate response should be to offer to remake the dish correctly, not hand them a couple of eggs in a cup and act as though the problem has been solved. As for my scrambled avocado toast, that was disappointing as well. The bread was barely toasted and wasn't even warm, and the eggs, which were supposed to be soft scrambled, were not prepared that way. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that the food being served to other tables looked fantastic. We genuinely came in excited to try this restaurant and had every intention of enjoying a wonderful meal. Instead, we experienced a long and confusing wait for seating, an unfriendly server who made us feel rushed, incorrectly prepared food, and a complete lack of effort to make things right. The most disappointing part wasn't even the mistake with the food. It was the attitude and the unwillingness to properly correct it. A beautiful restaurant can only go so far when the service and attention to customers fall this short. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would neither return nor recommend this restaurant to others. Restaurants make mistakes. Good restaurants take responsibility for them. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience here.

To start, we split an order of one of their specials, which was a crostini that came with fresh tomatoes and cheese. The tomatoes were bursting with flavor and at their peak summer ripeness. Next, we split the endive salad, which had peaches and Bleu cheese. I'm not a big fan of Bleu cheese so we put it on the side. The salad was light and refreshing and the peaches were perfectly ripe. For my entrée, I ordered the chicken salad Panini and was absolutely blown away. I have had chicken salad before, but never in a warm pressed Panini and something about the combination was pure magic. All in all, I was thoroughly impressed with my first visit to Farmhaus and look forward to coming back again very soon.

I left feeling hungry and uncomfortable after spending $80 on dinner. I was most disappointed in my "large plate" option of crab stuffed salmon. It was maybe a 3 oz filet with a half ounce of crab meat in a tiny dollop on top of the filet. It was on a bed of 1/4 cup of corn with a couple cherry tomatoes and shishito peppers. The cilantro lime crema was tasty. Again, meal was fine, but $44? Wine was $18 (typical bottle sells retail for $50), so they are making a killing there. My friends and I split the blue cheese stuffed dates. They were also good and I forget the price, but it only included 4. The benches outside were hard and a weird distance and height from the table. I don't want to be uncomfortable while eating an expensive meal. Service was fine. Nothing remarkable or unpleasant. She cleared out plates and silverware which had us eating the last of the potato side dish with our hands. If you don't mind overspending on food, try it out, but don't expect to be satisfied unless you order more food.

I first called the Roseville location. The gal who answered was very sweet, but she couldn't answer catering questions and let me know she'd need to check with the kitchen. Rather than play phone tag, I decided to swing by in person (the following day) to see if I could make a stronger connection. The gal working was just as kind face-to-face as the first girl I spoke with on the phone, she also did her best to answer what she could, and ultimately recommended I get in touch with Kat, who handles catering. When I finally connected with Kat, I felt more at ease about going with this restaurant. She was absolutely fantastic and should probably have a PhD in reassurance. She patiently walked me through the options, answered everything with confidence, and made me feel completely comfortable placing a fairly sizable catering order over the phone for pickup at the Rocklin location. Five stars for Kat. She is exactly the kind of person you hope to work with when planning an event. On pickup day, I arrived about 15-20 minutes early. Some restaurants build in a little buffer and have orders sitting around before the promised pickup time, but not these folks. My order was ready exactly when they said it would be, and honestly, I prefer that. It meant everything was as fresh as possible rather than sitting under a warmer waiting for me. We chose the #2 catering package. Of the options we chose: a large Greek salad, two skewers of meat per person, pita bread, dip, lemon potatoes, and pilaf rice. The presentation was beautiful, everything was thoughtfully packaged, and, the food was very good. If you're deciding between the proteins, I'd give a slight edge to the steak skewers. They stayed tender, while the chicken, was a bit drier by comparison. If you're looking for catering that's both visually impressive and well received, The Great Greek delivers on both fronts. Whether you're feeding family, coworkers, or guests at a special event, this is the kind of spread that earns compliments before people even take their first bite. Four and a half shining stars!

Stopped by Buckhorn for the first time for Father's Day lunch. Great joint for pretty good BBQ!…read more Buckhorn is an order at the counter and get a number type place. The line was long when we came in, but moved quickly. The bigger problem is that there aren't nearly enough tables for how many folks were dining in. We did end up finding a table on their patio- which is always a win for our family. For about $70, we got two kids' meals (one slider and one chicken tenders), a shareables order of the tri-tip tacos (that my wife ate as her entree), and a two-protein platter with the pulled pork and tri-tip. They asked how we wanted our tri-tip cooked, and we answered medium, but all of the tri-tip came out well done. The flavors of everything were good, though, and the portions are substantial. The kids' meals are a great value. The two-protein platter was enough for two meals if you wanted it to be. The tacos were filled generously and were very tasty. I enjoyed the coleslaw- though I read some others find it bland. I did not think that at all. I really enjoyed the selection of sauces available at Buckhorn. They have a pump-your-own-sauce station with several types of BBQ sauce, horseradish sauce, ketchup, and spicy ranch. Yum! My favorite was the mustard-based BBQ sauce. Overall, I would totally return to Buckhorn. I could probably lean 4 stars here, but I think it's a better spot for BBQ than many others in my area and in the Roseville area that I've tried. It's certainly made my Roseville area visit list.

The service at the counter was very pleasant then you go into make your own sodas. My wife had the tri-tip burger and her tri-tip was grisly. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was Sahara dry. Even generous amounts of bbq sauce couldn't save it. Bbq sauce not bad though. Cole slaw for the sando was also pretty good. The highlight of the visit were the OG fries.
