I went for my son's graduation celebration. Everyone with me really loved their food. I don't eat seafood. So it's not my style. I stuck with steak and potatoes. The potatoes were really good! Steak was cooked really well but did lack flavor. Once I added salt it was good. The waiter was very attentive. He made sure our drinks were full, he was nice and offered suggestions for us. It had been a while since I visited a Red Lobster and decided it was time to come back. We came on a Saturday evening and it wasn't very busy at all. In fact, the restaurant was pretty dang empty. Made me wonder if they will last. The service was pretty good, but not the best. The biscuits are super tasty, buttery, and soft. My husband ordered the filet and it was good, but he didn't love how grilled and black it was on the top. I ordered the crab and absolutely loved it. It was meaty and I loved the Cajun butter flavor. I did not care for the crispy potatoes on the bottom because they were all extremely overcooked and way too crispy. The side salad was drenched in ranch. I couldn't even eat the whole salad at all because it was so drenched in salad dressing. I had maybe six bites. Overall, I would come here 2-3 times a year! read more

As an absolute shrimp-fiend, I couldn't pass up the all-you-can-eat shrimp for around $25. I made sure to roll into this location way before the dinner rush so I could try all of the different preparations of shrimp possible. My favorites were the coconut shrimp and the two skewers. I probably had 3 of each of the skewers. There is something so delicious about the flame-grilled shrimp. My waitress was very kind and made sure to recommend the drink/side bundle to go with the bottomless shrimp. She was also very quick to ask for my next order so I wasn't wasting any precious hungry-time waiting for the next order of shrimp to come out. The ambiance was classic to red lobster. If you haven't been, it's a dimly lit and cozy new-England themed restaurant. You feel like you've been transported from the desert of Utah to the east coast. I almost had to have the staff roll me out because I had eaten so much. I loved nearly everything that I tried. It may be because I was spoiled growing up by my Italian mother's pasta, but I was a little let down by the shrimp linguine. And I might've experienced a little bit of grade school-induced PTSD biting into the heavily breaded popcorn shrimp, but 12-year old me would've loved them. Our experience tonight was terrible!! First, our party of 6 was sat at a table for 12 and when we requested for the extra table to be moved to hostess dropped some of our cutlery in the process; okay fine it happens. Then after our drinks were brought out on of the cups was FILTHY with caked on food on the inside of the cup! When our salads arrived we still didn't have to new drink or cutlery... then once our food arrived 3 plate were missing for a good 10 minutes until the manager came to check on us and we informed her that 3 of our plates were missing. She brings them out with the plates PIPING hot; note on of them was for a kid. The kids meal was missing an item as well (never received that...) we had to ask for our drinks to be refilled, our table was never cleared of plates from the appetizers. Beautiful night for buttered biscuits. 9 of us came for dinner. Hostess was super polite and got us on the waiting list. Prepared us ahead of time for the wait. Tuesday night, but not a bad time to wait. Food was great. Server was super attentive and made sure we had drinks, rolls, and anything else we needed. The coleslaw was not very fresh so we couldn't finish it. I heard that from multiple people at the table. The lobster was amazing of course as well as the pasta. This location is very nice and clean. POSITIVES: Jenny was an amazing waitress. She was funny, kind, and very helpful with bringing our food and refilling our waters, as well as answering our questions. Some of the decor was quite nice, and the booths were comfortable. The wagyu bacon burger was marvelous. I could literally taste each amazing part of the burger: the tender, juicy beef, the crispy bacon, the wonderfully aged white cheddar, and even the bun. The fries were perfectly crispy. And let's not forgot the whole reason anyone comes here.... Those cheddar bay biscuits. Absolutely fantastic. NEGATIVES: some of the food was a let down. I would've liked the mozzarella sticks to be breaded more... But who knows, maybe they're frozen and not made in house? The marinara sauce was too runny (almost like dipping it in tomato sauce instead of a thick, chunky marinara). The flavor was there, but the texture was off. Also, a lot of the food was overly great. The hamburger buns, the lettuce, the mozzarella sticks... It all felt like it was just soaking in grease. Funnily enough, the fries were probably the least greasy item, next to the biscuits. One other thing, my wife's fork wasn't cleaned very well. Wish I had taken a picture of that, but it had residue and some food stuck to it just as she opened it from the napkin. PRICE: expect to pay anywhere from $11 to $25 pretty person. Pro tip: the family feast is a generous amount that might help lower the price per person. RECOMMENDED: honestly, any of their seafood. Expect to spend a little extra when you come here, the prices are higher than other chain restaurants. That being said, they were very sanitary with hand sanitizer at the counter, tables blocked off to re-enforce social distancing and everyone was wearing masks. Technically, it's the only local seafood restaurant in the area. I don't think of it as a seafood restaurant. It's a shellfish place. Shrimp, scallops, crab and lobster tails. They don't overcook things badly. Sometimes, I just get an urge to have shellfish. I had the holiday special of two lobster tails with butter. This Red Lobster has exceptional service: if I could give them 6 stars, I would. The waitresses I've had for the times I've come in have gone above and beyond to make our trip really enjoyable, anticipate our needs and wants, and were willing to be really adaptable with those needs and wants. If there's something from the menu you really love, that's great, but if not, then you won't have many choices: it's fairly slim pickings for main dish options if you're not looking for a platter of some sort. I really enjoy the lobster or crab Alfredo, but it is very simplistic: nothing more than what the name suggests. The real winner on the table in my opinion are the rolls served at the table before your food comes--they melt in your mouth, fairly burst with butter and garlic taste, and arrive at your table so perfectly hot and soft. (Hot tip: they do sell the mix for them at some grocery stores and Costco, but somehow always taste better at the restaurant.) read more

Red Lobster is a classic! I haven't been here in forever, mostly because I am not a big seafood gal so I usually visit another Darden Restaurant. However, I have been seeing an ad for weeks now for the 3 for $15.99 and that is really what pulled me in here (shout out to Red Lobsters Marketing Team, I gueeessss ;) ). I pull up at about 4:10pm on a Friday. I was kinda shocked with how long the wait was for how busy it wasn't. There was just about nobody in the restaurant but I still waited 20 minutes out of the 10 minute wait time I was told about. It's fine though, I had nowhere to be! I get seated. At first, I was worried that they didn't have the 3 for 15.99 because I wasn't seeing it on the menu, but I found it on the little card at the table so phew! I knew I was going to get the Caesar salad because that is my jam. I also knew I was going to get the mozzy sticks because also, my jam. However, I bounced around what I wanted for my entree. The Cajun Alfredo was what I was originally planning on, then I randomly thought, no I should get the fish and chips. Honestly, a bad personal decision on my part... I don't like seafood that much but randomly spewed that out for my order because I am at a seafood place lololol. In hindsight, I genuinely think I should've ordered the chicken strips because that would've come with two sides hehe. The Fish and Chips came with one big fish filet, fries and coleslaw. Also I got a side of Ketchup, ranch and tartar sauce. I don't like coleslaw either so when I tell you I am so dumb for ordering this, I am not kidding lol. It was nice to get to munch on those biscuits while I waited for my food. Gosh those are good! The ranch was exactly what I would expect from a seafood place. Little lesson I learned from a literal book about ranch, France's ranch is tarter sauce. Ranch is a very americanized sauce and it is common in other countries, but in different ways. Red Lobster pretty much uses French ranch, that is the best way I can describe it. Since I did get a side of ranch and tarter sauce, I will say that there is an apparent difference between the two but not by much. The ranch here is very dill based and just has a very similar taste to tarter sauce, just not as chunky I would say. I will admit, the service was meh. The host girl was extremely sweet for sure! However, my waiter did hardly check on me and just wasn't my favorite. I do understand though that I cannot see everything that goes on and he may have been super busy with other sections. I just felt forgotten about and not very attended to. The taste of the food overall was decent. I would definitely think of getting something else next time though, not just the items I didn't like hehe. The salad had a lot of wilted pieces and just didn't taste fresh. Which is ironic because they did take the time to type "fresh" within the name of the salad. The mozzy sticks were decent, nothing out of this world but not bad and I did eat all of them! I would definitely go back again just to try some different things and hope the salad is a bit better. As far as the prices, they were honestly what I was expecting because I saw the ad so I am not sure how much I can speak on this. On terms of value, I thought it was pretty decent value. The biscuits are always delicious, and the Lobster Dip appetizer was good; beware it comes out hot, and our waiter kindly reminded us it was hot. They have specials through the week and they have a Lobster menu going on right now, so I ordered my staple Admiral's Feast, and Lauren order a Lobster Roll and Bisque. What happened to this restaurant? I'm appalled. We came here Monday night. I ordered "Lobster-Topped Stuffed Flounder" Its menu description says exactly from their website/menu, "Wild-caught flounder roasted with our signature seafood stuffing and topped with Maine and langostino lobster in a creamy lobster beurre blanc. Served with choice of sides." The picture has this fluffy fish topped with pieces of lobster. What I got was this disgusting, thick, vomit-colored fish paste, mixed in with tiny shrimp underneath the super thing piece of flounder. Is this to make it look bigger, more impressive so you can justify the price tag?? Then on top was maybe 1 or 2 tiny pieces of lobster mixed with mushy crab pieces!! Did the chef honestly think I couldn't tell the difference between the 2 textures?! The Brussel sprouts were not just caramelized but burnt. On another note, we had to order the kids extra food after since their meals were half the size of what they used to be. Its popcorn shrimp for cryin' out loud! That's what you choose to reduce to save money? Not to mention the floors were dirty on a slow night and the shrimp on the skewer was over cooked and chewy. All of this may seem like an inflation thing which I can imagine could be harder on restaurants currently, but to charge MORE and serve HALF the food or worse, use different food items under the disguise of another is a crime! How horribly dishonest! There are better, more quality restaurants out there, do business with them instead of this place and maybe they'll change. read more

Found a babysitter for the evening. Joined the waitlist at 7pm. Drove 30 minutes to Red Lobster. Told we would be sat in 30 minutes. 45 minutes go by. Inquired about our seating. Told we have to wait an additional 30 minutes. It's about 8:15 pm now. The reliability of the hostess' word is now questionable. All other restaurants are closed now. Now driving 30 minutes back home to pick up our child from the sitter. Thanks Red Lobster. I will now longer support the Orem location. Certainly has lost class and value, and most certainly is not up to the standards of Red Lobsters in other locations. The environment feels like a cheap buffet. read more

I wish I could write a raving review about this restaurant but, sadly I just cannot! We have been to several locations over the last year with a group of friends because we all take turns choosing! This happens to be one couple's favorite "eats" out there! From the minute you walk into ANY of these restaurants the smell is old and musty (like a goodwill store) and so outdated! It's very noticeable. Except for the biscuits - which are always fresh, hot, and yummy, I cannot say anything good about the food "I" had! I ordered the lobster linguini for $30.99. My husband ordered the endless shrimp. He said he'd give his about 3 stars out of 5! He said "It's like the ihop of seafood!" That pretty much sums it up! I'd give it a 2 star rating and that's only because we had the BEST waitress who was beyond attentive, friendly and so accommodating to our group! We tipped her well! But there was confusion as to an appetizer that was advertised online that made it appear "FREE" (because it said "FREE") which we learned was NOT free. Our waitress said she'd get it removed from the bill. Which we thought she did! But it appeared elsewhere on the bill. She brought the manager over and he was quite nasty and literally yelled at all of us with tables all around full of patrons. He chastised us (!!) instead of comping (which everyone knows they can do) or even meeting us in the middle, and proceeded to scold us on the coupon - which was actually very deceptive advertising- as even the waitress said she thought it was free as well! We ALL felt he was incredibly curt, loud and just rude and out of place on this one. My food was awful. The sauce was so overly salty I could not eat it. The noodles were NOT fresh at all, not hot, and part of them were even hard. After we all got up and left, we discussed how disappointed we were by the actions of the manager, and felt he really ruined the end of the meal by his tirade and less than professional manner in which he handled the situation. When you work with the public, you do everything you can to make things right. Eventually, he did end up taking it off the bill but, not before he made an inexcusable scene, as well, at the cost of all of us deciding afterwards that we're pretty much DONE with Red Lobster. So many other good choices out there where the food is so much better and the staff are actually GLAD you came, and show it! Lesson learned! read more

My problem with Red Lobster is they did not carry Alaskan King Crab during their crab days!

My wife and I visited Red Lobster for her birthday dinner this last week. Our server in training accidentally spilled a tray of drinks on our table and all over my wife. We understand it was a mistake and didn't make a big deal out of it. We were told the manager would come by to say something, but we sat through the entire dinner soaked in water as the manager walked by us over and over again without acknowledging us. At the end of the meal, I was brought a check with no discounts or anything. I reluctantly paid the full check with no complaints, and THEN the manager came by the table and very casually and awkwardly looked at my wife and said "hey I heard you got a coke spilled on you or something? Here's a couple gift cards for you guys, it should be enough for one meal or something" (He gave us two $10 gift cards. Both of our meals were at least $25). First of all, we had a total of 5 full glasses of water and soda spilled and BROKEN all over us and the table. Not just "a coke spilled on us". Secondly, to not be acknowledged for the entire rest of our night on my wife's birthday is rude and unprofessional of a restaurant manager. And lastly, two $10 gift cards is a little cheap for what happened to us, but we can get over that. My only concern with that is why wouldn't you just take $20 off our check instead of offering it to us AFTER we paid for our $60 meal?? This was just a really crappy experience at a restaurant we expected better from. And just as a reminder, I put NO blame on our servers or any of the other staff we interacted with. Our servers were great, especially Jennifer. She was sweet, apologetic for what happened, and attentive. Whenever we decide to come back, we'll be asking for her by name. I put the blame for our entire experience on Malcom, the restaurant manager. It is HIS responsibility as a manager to know what is going at all times regarding good and bad guest experiences. And his quiet, awkward, downplaying comments at the END of our meal about simply having a coke spilled on us made us feel like he didn't know or care about what happened. If Malcom had stopped by and spoken kindly with us and apologized right after we moved tables, we would have had a much better experience, but he didn't. read more

After discussing this with Angellica, I decided to give Red Lobster one more shot. Ok.... I ordered water, Lobster Lovers Dream and Clam Chowder. This time, the Clam Chowder was kinda "bleh". I wouldn't stake a business's reputation on it. Too watery and like last time, almost no clams. (1/5) The Rock Lobster, which this is the first time I knew exactly what species I was eating, it had a decent taste but was rather tough and rubbery. (2/5) The Maine Lobster, this time was a decent size. It tasted really good and had a good texture. (5/5) The Lobster-and-shrimp linguini in a creamy lobster sauce was really good. The sauce is a good creamy sauce that was full of flavor. The pasta though, seemed like it was boiled a bit too long. (4/5) The biscuits were pretty good. (4/5) Table service was super. Megan did a fabulous job! Her friendliness earned her my respect! (5/5) And the cost? $44.36. But...was it worth it? I'm kinda iffy. A different menu was provided this time, having much more selection than last time. So that helped an awful lot. By my score that's technically a 3.5 stars out of 5. Seeing a better selection than last time, I'll have to come back and try something else. I seriously doubt the clam chowder will be on my list, however. read more
