Ramen 4 Real is such a cute little spot. The location is super cozy and a little small, but honestly that added to the whole authentic feel for me. We did have to wait about 10 to 15 minutes, but it was just one lady working her butt off serving and bussing tables so we really did not mind. And it was absolutely worth the wait. I ordered the shoyu ramen with extra chashu and potstickers. Everything was amazing. The broth had so much flavor, the noodles were perfect, and the extra chashu was the right call. I would one hundred percent go back. The woman working was so sweet too. She kept bringing us cute little drinks to try for free and it made the whole experience even better. This place is definitely worth stopping by if you are in the area.
Went here on a rainy night for ramen with a few friends. The space is small and it was a busy so we were waiting for quite sometime. I don't recommend coming here if you have a big party. Since we were a big party of 6, they couldn't seat us at a table so we were seated at the bar. It took them a while to get our order. And when they did, it felt like our waitress was rushing us. Their ramen in my opinion was okay. Since we were waiting a long time, our waitress ended up giving us appetizers and a few bottles of free soda on the house which was greatly appreciated! If you come here, I recommend keeping your party small and being prepared to wait during dinner time.
Loved this place. We went there for dinner today and loved everything that we tried. We ordered the Takoyaki and they were perfect crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. For the main course, we ordered two Ramen- the Jigoku Special with spice level 2 and it was the perfect spice level for us. The noodles were firm and the broth was flavourful. The second Ramen that we ordered for Uchi Kuro and it had lots of garlic in it (which I loved) . The broth was salty and flavourful. We also asked for fried garlic and chilli oil for the table. For drinks we had water and a Coke. The best part about this whole experience was the server- she was the sweetest!! She gave 2 Japanese drinks and a diet coke on the house. She was so warm and welcoming! I see this place becoming my favourite ramen place in town. It's good a good vibe.
Came back again recently and I still think this is the best ramen in town! While Ramen 4 Real doesn't seem to be hurting for business, I think there's an easy opportunity to elevate the vibe inside. The one thing that is giving the interior a hole-in-the-wall look is the mismatched wall paint. A nice coat of black paint to make all of the walls match could go a long way in uplifting the ambiance. The food here is top notch, and the restaurant deserves to look top notch as well!
I love real "word-of-mouth" suggestions. I'm here because a co-worker has been loving it for years. How had I never even heard of it? It first opened in 2017. He said order the Miso Hot 'N' Spicy. This was my first time in a ramen restaurant, and I was thinking it's probably not much different than outa the package at my house! I was kinda figuring something like what I ate in college. Nope. This ramen is elevated! Super tasty. The broth was almost creamy. The char-broiled Pork Belly. Sweet corn kernels. Spicy ground sausage. Aaaand a perfectly-cooked medium-cooked egg. Also bought potstickers. Yup! Super crunchy. And the friendly helpful hostess/waitress knew every person that walked. Decided to try the Bean Balls for dessert.
Loved trying this ramen place on a cold rainy day. Their potstickers are amazing. The hostess also gave us complimentary spicy sausage appetizer. We each got ramen and it was full of noodles, extra pork, egg, spinach and seaweed. I got no spice but added chili oil. The broth and noodles are good, not amazing. We arrived right at 12N when they opened and the restaurant filled up quickly! There were a few reserved tables, lots of bar seating and a handful of small tables in the seating area. The restaurant is small but service is extremely quick, food is good and portions are generous and filling. We couldn't finish our bowls after also enjoying the appetizers.
My first visit here, came right at 12 when they opened up. So let's break it down, I've had ramen in both San Francisco and Chicago, some of which is direct transplant straight from Japan. For Reno, this is cool to come check out if you are craving ramen. But to me, this just doesn't hit it for authentic ramen if you have ventured around a bit to truly experience what it is supposed to taste like. Service was great, food came really fast, and our server was very friendly. Noodles were decent, broth was fine, but absolutely lacking depth. Thing for me is, I've had some really great ramen, and I even make ramen at home to fill the void of Reno not having anything that compares to true ramen. This definitely will not keep me from making ramen at home. True ramen eggs should be marinated and brown on the outside, these were not. I could almost overlook that, but the Chashu really disappointed me. I'm not sure if it's because I came right when they opened or what but ours doesn't even look like everyone's else's pictures. I was really looking forward to the Chashu itself because it does take a long time to make and I'd love to find somewhere in town up to my standard. Ours came cut almost paper thing like lunch meat and did not really taste like anything other then plain pork slapped on a flattop. Total bummer for me, consistency is everything, and the second the Chashu hit the table my mind went, "hey what gives?" No idea if maybe the rolled logs just weren't ready quite yet so they cut them thin to keep them from being hard to chew. This was a total bummer. The other thing, the bathroom, is clearly having drainage issues, there is water up to the top of the drain, and MAN did it smell bad, the smell of backed up drain water is hard to miss, and very unique...
This is hands down the best ramen spot in Reno! It's a small, intimate setting so just keep that in mind cause it can get very busy, but they turn tables very quickly. The menu is small and simple but don't be fooled, all items pack a flavorful punch! My favorite is the Uchi Kuro. So garlicky and rich. Perfect for the rainy day that we had today. Paired my ramen with a Sapporo which was the best combination. The woman that owns this is so nice every time I'm there. She even gave us complimentary bottles of soda when we were leaving.
My friends and I have been coming here for a while and we love it. The food is so delicious and the service is phenomenal. I don't go to any other ramen spot in Reno! All my love to the amazing staff here, who put so much care into trying to remember their customers and their orders. Eating here is like family
I came here on a weekday for lunch--lots of parking spaces here. The inside is very spacious, and there's a lot of seating. The waiter is very nice and friendly. I ordered their shoyu ramen. I love their Chashu. They roast/fried it before putting it into the soup. It's very tender and melts in your mouth. The soup was a good balance, I would say it's a little salty on my end. But again, it depends on personal preference. I love their noodles, and it was Al Dente. I would come back here, and try their other flavored Ramen. Their appetizers look good as well! read more

My favorite restaurant in Reno and mine and my boyfriends go to spot The ramen is so yummy I love the flavors and options of different spice levels, I personally get level 2 and it fulfills my love for spice. They also have delicious gyoza with a yummy sauce They have unique drink options as well that I haven't seen anywhere else in Reno. The service is amazing they have the sweetest server who is always so attentive and makes the experience here even better. The ambiance is great here they have comfortable seating and a chill relaxed vibe nearby downtown and cute shops. Definitely recommend coming here and trying the chicken jigoku level 2, it's my favorite. read more

When it comes to ramen, I must say that I'm a sucker to try a ramen shop whenever I'm in a new city. While staying at the Silver Legacy for Christmas week, I looked on Yelp to see what we can have for lunch on Christmas Eve that was not only open but close to our hotel. I chose Ramen 4 real based on its high rating but more so that it was just a 6 minute walk from Silver Legacy. Mind you regarding the location, it's easy to miss since they don't have a large sign compared to two other Asian establishments in the same building. In fact when looking for the place and using google map, we saw we arrived but didn't see where it says Ramen 4 Real . We almost accidentally assume they were not there /or closed/ or taken over because of the lack of signage. But lucky we walked past the other 2 Asian restaurants to see this was at the far end corner of the building. So the ramen, I ordered the Jigoku Special spicy level 2 (1-3). And my wife ordered the Shoyu ramen (can't spice that up) The bowl the ramen came in I would consider Small and was the only option size. Despite its size, there was enough ramen for me to be content and full. We got lucky that we didn't have to wait since after we got seated, there was a steady stream of people coming in that we saw since we sat on the window seats. Our waitress/owner shared that the lines can be out the door on other times so we got lucky we came on a slow day. I definitely enjoyed my bowl of ramen. I almost regretted getting spicy level 2 since it made me cough a few times because of the spiciness but I think I handled it well and didn't deter my enjoyment of my ramen. Overall, one of the top 5 ramen places I've been to in my life and would say it's the best in Reno. Would I go back? Oh for sure. Went here on a snowy day for a warm meal and was not disappointed! The service was so friendly, the owner Sakura is so sweet and we felt taken care of the whole time. The broth for the ramen is very flavorful, and you can upgrade any ramen to be spicy if it isn't already, which I love! And the gyoza is perfectly crisp without being too heavy. Me and my friend sat at the bar and got a good view of the snowy neighborhood. Always a good and flavorful time coming here. read more

Not bad for Reno Tsukemen ramen. I got the Kakuni Tsukemen. Noodles were good, soft boiled egg was good but it was not an ajitama because it was just a plain soft boiled egg. The menma was plain too. Best ramen shop! Please come here if you are looking for the sweetest staff and the best ramen. There is an incredible drink selection, my husband and I love getting the milk tea and the Ramune's (Japanese sodas). I prefer spicy ramen so the Jigoku is always my go to, my husband loves the shoyu. We have been to Japan and this ramen shop is the closest we have come to the authentic ramen we love and the atmosphere we had in Japan!! We were in Reno for a dog show and wanted to whet our appetite with some ramen. I came across Ramen 4 Real on Yelp and the reviews looked consistent. The photos were making my mouth water. Reno is obv not known for Asian food, and there are not many other options for ramen, but we decided to trust the process. Before we went, we took a good look at the menu and decided on what we were going to order. I landed on the Uchi-Kuro with corn added while my husband decided on the Jigoku Special with woodear mushroom added. It was a quiet day when we went and after the lunch rush, so we were the only people dining in. We were warmly greeted by the owner and quickly ushered to a booth (she told us she wanted us to be comfortable in the AC). She was the sweetest lady and we told her we were ready to order. While we waited for our ramen, to our surprise, the owner gave us a small sampler of the appetizers! We got the pork gyoza and the fried shrimp shumai, both of which came with their own dipping sauces. They were delicious and fried perfectly. Our ramen bowls were next to arrive and they were fantastic. The bowls might look small, but there were plenty of noodles and the broth was delicious. It was a filling lunch for sure. The noodles were the right texture and consistency, and the chashu was extremely tender. Personally I wish I had a full egg instead of half, but the half I had was soft boiled beautifully. I loved the fried garlic on top of my bowl, and the spinach helped cut the fat. I was glad I added corn to my ramen as well. My husband's ramen was pretty spicy! The chili oil they use is no joke, and he only ordered a level 3. Since he got the special, his bowl came with extra chashu, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I got a chance to try his broth and it was delicious, but definitely made me need to drink water after due to the spice. Next time he would get a lower spice level, and both of us love spicy food and have a pretty good spice tolerance. We would definitely return to Ramen 4 Real the next time we are in Reno. Not only is the food delicious, but the owner is super sweet, and we love supporting small businesses like hers. I'd definitely recommend Ramen 4 Real to anyone who needs a ramen fix when visiting the area. read more

This was my second time here and I've been blown away every single time. As a solo foodie or a group each time is a great experience. The server who has been there in both My experiences -was friendly and eager to ensure you have an Incredible Experience. My second visit there - She informed us that there was a wait as she was the only one serving at the time, and was doing her best. We informed her We were happy to wait and she checked up on us from time to time -which I appreciated. The food is worth the wait. The broth in my miso Ramen was fantastic, and the potstickers were delicious and warm on top of that. My noodles were cooked to perfection, as well as the additions we received on top of them. If you plan to go with a larger group, ensure you have ample time to wait because the food is amazing and worth it on top of this place. Makes you feel like family with it's exceptional service and staff. read more

Came here for a celebratory dinner for the kiddo with our friends and had a wonderful time! The inside is so cute and well decorated, you feel transported out of Reno. Everyone was so nice and friendly, we even got a free order of potstickers and Ramune! All three of the ramens were also so delicious. The broths are delicate, yet flavorful. The Cha Su was tender and juicy. The noodles bouncy and little sponges for flavor. Honestly, The whole experience was just lovely. Good food, good friends and good music. We came back to Reno for the 4th of July weekend. We have never been here before so based on the good reviews we stopped by for lunch. Seems like an older established restaurant. Stopped here while in town for work. With the temps dropping it had me craving soup so this place stood out when doing my search. I was seated quickly at a high table near the front window and placed my order for a Miso Ramen. The server returned less than 5 minutes later with my bowl of goodness. The broth had a great umami flavor and the pork was super tender. The soft boiled tea egg was tasty as well. Another amazing Ramen hut for Reno. This one located just outside downtown in a strip mall with great Sushi and Taiwanese. We have only had the ramen but the rest of the menu looks fabulous as well. Good selection of Japanese Beer and Sake to with your meal. I had the Pork Jigoku Special Ramen at a level 2 heat. Very good spice level though I think the 3 would be manageable as well - I do t mind it hot though. You get extra pork with the special. Ramen noodles are a little thin to call them perfect IMHO. The broth is wonderful - full of depth. We have been here a couple of times though our first review. We'll definitely be back. read more

Reviews warned that this place leans spicy, so I was sure to order my Uchi-Kuro with spice on the side & it was perfect! The Mi-So Hot looked great for spicy / corn-lovers. Our server gifted us some potstickers on the house and they were excellent!! Will definitely get those next time. Cute spot with limited seating that makes for a cozy, easy atmosphere. If you're looking for an authentic ramen experience, it doesn't get any better than Ramen4Real. From the Japanese style broth, the Chashu, and all the add ins, it's absolutely delicious. Ramen4Real is a small resturant with bar, table and half booth seating, lower lighting that feels inviting and cozy and was on the quieter side as they weren't very busy. Our server was very welcoming and friendly, let my family pick our table and was awesome throughout our entire visit! read more
