Service was fine, chicken katsu met all my expectations!! But damn it's called Ramen 101 but that ramen was ass.

So glad there is a new ramen place here in this area. We came a little before noon on a Saturday and the wait was less than 15 minutes. We had the Tonkotsu ramen and Shoyu ramen, and a Karaage to share. Food was served pretty quickly which was quite impressive. The broth was ok, not too salty. Noodles were good too, not too soft. The ajitsuke egg was a soft boiled one, which was already much better than a lot of other ramen places. The chashu was definitely good and satisfying too. I like this place and would want to bring my kids here next time. However, I will appreciate if they can stop using breach or something with a very strong smell to wipe the table so that I wouldn't keep smelling the chemicals while eating! read more

Just did a take-out order and was told by locals this was the best in the Dublin/San Ramon area. For the area, it's not bad, but you can drive 20-30 minutes into Oakland and get better ramen. I had the black garlic ramen, which was good but only came with 2 pieces of pork for the whole thing! The broth was very fatty and luxurious (like me), which kind of made up for the lack of meat. My wife had the veggie ramen, which does not come with an egg, so I added one. Hers was good but I think in the future I'll just make the trek out for better ramen. read more

Came for lunch and a few tables were empty, so we were able to seat ourselves. I don't mind walking up to the counter and ordering. The food came out super quick. Had to try the whole squid and it was definitely a good choice. Tender enough and the sauce complimented the squid. Ramen came in big portions, couldn't finish one bowl. The noodles had the prefect chewiness and I liked that you can pick the spice level. We tried the black garlic and the seafood ramen. I think there was a good proportion of noodles to soup to toppings. Customer service was also really attentive and offered to take away empty plates, refill waters even though you can serve yourself. A great place to warm up when it's cold and rainy outside. You'll definitely be full when you leave. read more

I came here and ate at the restaurant once. The place is small but it's spacious enough for dinning in with friends to catch up on. The atmosphere is very a quick bite and a good catchup place. I notice there's lots of take outs than anything. My friends and I have taken out from here more than dinning in. Just have to recook the soup to get it hot before eating. Best ramen place in the East Bay without going to Fremont, San Jose or SF... Totally recommending everyone I try it once. read more

Ordering online is very simple. They have a table set up strictly for takeout pickups. Very efficient and the food is good.

I give this place 3 stars the food is good don'tget me wrong, but it just doesn't knock me off of my seat. The staff here are always friendly and they are speedy in getting your food to the table, it's just the restaurant is small. When I come I usually get one thing and that's the miso ramen. I have tried the Tonkotsu ramen but I really wasnt a fan. All in all a good spot for a quick ramen fix read more

When this place was just opened, we loved this place. We tried ramen, chicken karage, unagi rice, takoyaki, and they are really good that the pork in the ramen is soft, chicken karage is big and juicy, takoyaki is big and less floury. But yesterday we went again and tried everything and the new pork rib ramen. We were so disappointed because pork rib is so hard to bite off, chicken karage is over fried and meatless, takoyaki is small and floury and less crispy. We guess we won't come again. read more

Pretty decent food. I ordered the Unagi don, chicken karaage, geso fry (squid legs), my boyfriend had the miso ramen. The portions for the appetizers were huge (which is always a plus for my book). Right size amount for the unagi don, and the ramen was pretty tasty. read more

Not bad for a ramen place that is counter service. I had the black garlic ramen. It was good, but I can't say it was memorable. Very fast service and the food arrived quickly, so I can see how this place is pretty popular. The restaurants in this area are sort of separated from the main shopping area along Fallon, but if you are going to the outlets, the collection of restaurants in this smaller area are worth a look. read more

It was pretty good. I had spicy miso and my husband had black garlic ramen; also ordered Takoyaki. All of them were tasty. Pretty fast after ordering the foods at counter. Not enough seating area but we will go back to try other flavor ramen later. read more

I was sitting waiting for my friend to show up and was asked to get up for someone else to sit down because I have not ordered yet. When the employee told me it was first come first serve. I was pretty sure I was at the table first. I've been in the restaurant industry for 15 years and have never asked a table to move or get up. I am appalled at the request. I still spent money here but it's hard for me to want to make a return trip after poor service. read more

I am big fan of Noodle...so, I tried ramen 101. Broth: noy strong enough, not enough flavor Noodle: just O.K Topping( Tonkotsu Ramen): Charshu is very dry Conclusion: just O.K if you are easy going. If you are big fan of Ramen, better look for other place. read more

Really fast service. Tasty Ramen. Don't let the feel of a fast food restaurant deter you. The staff are attentive and friendly. They close at 9pm so don't come last minute - My biggest gripe with Ramen in the US is that it's overpriced. Ramen should be cheap, delicious and everywhere / but we're not in Japan. Ramen 101 delivers great food and great experience without breaking the bank. Thanks for that read more

WIFEY and I found this place after doing some shopping at the outlet store in Pleasanton. Your first impression will definitely throw you off. You order when you first come in, not like the traditional table service we're accustomed and then find an open table. The wait for your food is minimal and once the food arrives, your mouth will encounter a delicious flavor of authentic ramen and Urigi fresh water eel. Did I mention their service is excellent. Definitely coming back to explore their menu read more

One of our favorite spots in Dublin. We actually feel pretty lucky that there is a place like Ramen 101 out here as the option to go to either SF or San Mateo "J Town" for Ramen is just too long of a drive for us. Lots of good options to customize your Ramen, but we personally enjoy the standard the Tonkotsu Ramen. The broth, noodles, the pork, the egg are all really good. It's no Orochon of "J town" in Los Angeles but it's not a bad option for the East Bay. The various appetizers from fried oysters, squid legs, takoyaki are all pretty tasty as well. We ordered "to go" and the service is always pretty quick. The prices are reasonable. 4 stars as the venue could use a little bit of house keeping. At the time we went, although the place is mostly empty for indoor dining (given COVID), a lot of their supplies are stored in the sit in area outside the kitchen. Just makes for a "tacky" setting. read more

Always been intrigued to try ramen. I saw this place on yelp and I had to go try it. Small clean and very peaceful place to eat. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen (Spicy) and OMG! The broth was exquisitely amazing and the noodles where fresh! I may not be a ramen soup expert but so far this is top notch ramen here and the soups come in packed with everything you asked in it! Definitely a must try! read more

Food had no test . I ordered 3 different dishes none had flavor. Please save time and money. My 2 microvable soup had more taste than the chicken Roman I ordered there. I dumped it after a few bites. Great ramen! Super simple bowls, but flavors are all there. I got the Tonkatsu ramen, spicy, with extra pork in addition to the black garlic bowl. I heavily underestimated the size of these bowls haha. I was looking at the photos on Yelp and figured I'd be able to down two bowls since I hadn't eaten in almost 24 hours, but I was wrong. Def worth it! read more

First time here... it's good and some place I'd come back to. The price and portions are a good value! With such limited Ramen places this one is worth trying!!! I had the tonkatsu ramen and it wasn't salty at all which was amazing! Sometimes they put to much salt in ramens and you can't taste the pork flavor. But this one you can Also the service is fast and the people are nice. They are very hospitable for a fast Ramen place! read more

I come here often for lunch and have not been disappointed yet. Their ramen is one of the best in the area.

I went here twice in a row last week and think it's the best ramen I've had in the area. Menu selection is a little limited imo, but the food has been great and affordable. The tonkatsu ramen I've tried had a nice, creamy broth but wasn't too creamy, no absence of flavor. The black garlic ramen came with flavorful roasted garlic and a nice, crispy char on the outside of the char siu. Noodles were thick and chewy. Portions are also generous, can share a bowl and an appetizer with someone else and be full right away. Oh, and the chicken karaage was the crispiest I've had. Service was also super speedy. Even when I came in during a lunch rush, our food came out hot and only a few minutes after we sat down. Only thing was the place was a bit small and loud, so I don't think it'd be ideal for a big group to have a sit-down. But overall am glad I don't have to trek far anymore for good ramen. read more

Y'all I'm not a ramen fan AT ALL. The closes thing I've tried is from an instant ramen noodles packet and I swear, I don't even like it that much. So my dad decided it's time for me to be familiar with real ramen and he brought me here at Ramen 101. Oh man, after having it there, I never looked back. I had the Shoryu ramen and it was the BOMB! I can imagine why everyone is going crazy over ramen noodles!! The place itself was small and it got really busy during lunch time (even on weekdays, my dad said). The amount of people lining up to place their orders goes all the way outside. So if you want good seats, come early. The broth was really flavorful and the noodle-to-toppings ratio was quite generous. I definitely recommend this place to ramen noobs like me! Definitely coming back again read more

I went here for lunch on previous occasions and never had issues and the Ramen was always great. On July. 9, 2018 I ordered the black garlic ramen and as I was eating, my girlfriend noticed a fairly large metal shaving in the ramen, thank god she spotted it before I ate it. They offered to replace it but after that I didn't have much of an appetite. They did refund my money so I guess that made things a little better. I also observed the cooks cleaning the fume hoods while they were making customers Ramen. Shouldn't that be done once the restaurant is closed for the night? Just the thought of that makes me want to puke. read more

Had a tonkatsu ramen with all yumminess that goes with it. The pork was delicious, moist and tender. Was a disappointed with the egg which came whole and was a normal hard boiled tea egg and not as tasty. The soup was fairly good, not too salty. Also ordered the grilled squid which was topped with a sweet sour soy sauce which was interesting... Will probably be back since there are not many ramen options around this area and I'll have to try the other menu options! read more

Here for the first time and ordered two bowls of the Miso Ramen and an order of the Chicken Kara-age. The Ramen was served in a decent sized portion. The pork was delicious as was the whole soft boiled egg they put in the soup. The Kara-age was too breaded though. The food was tasty and I started to think..."hmm, I might just come back here again. Would be really good on one of those cool rainy winter nights. But that all changed. We were seated at the table closest to the bathroom. We observed employees constantly going in and out of the one and only single stalled bathroom, multiple times. Twice we observed the same employee walk from the kitchen to the bathroom with his food service gloves on, touch the handle of the bathroom, found that it was occupied then returned to his station in the kitchen without taking off his gloves, washing his hands and changing into a new pair of food service gloves. We know this because glass surrounds the kitchen space and we can see him behind his station. He even has a box of gloves right there at his station. After some investigation, he is responsible for the toppings station. You will see a pic of him - I was pretending to take a pic of the menu. (MAJOR Health & Safety issue). Also one of the employees used the bathroom for a while and when he left, he left his lighter and box of cigarettes on the toilet paper holder. My kids freaked about about a lighter being there and I just told them not to touch it. (safety issue) We also observed a staff person use a To Go Menu as a funnel to refill the seasoning bottles found on the tables (Health & Safety issue). We ordered a Spam Masubi to go and opened it to wide eyes, then confusion... did we order a snowball of rice?? Cause that is what it was. Pic attached. So needless to say, we won't be coming back even though one of the staff was nice enough to keep checking on us and asking if everything was alright (although I figured he saw that I was typing a Yelp Review). Hoping that my family and I won't be making trips to the Porcelain Throne tonight due to Dude with unchanged nasty food handling gloves. read more

My parents have been raving about this place for a while, so I decided to try it with them when I visited. The service is fast, we got our food relatively quickly but it wasn't too busy to begin with. The cashier lady was nice and patient with my mom since she can't hear too well, always a bonus. The food was "okay for the area" - ramen in the Bay Area is better! However, I did not appreciate the cooks/boys working in the back laughing at my dad when he asked for to-go containers. This place obviously doesn't hire professional or serious employees. I told my parents to stop coming here because there are better more friendlier places to pay money at. read more
