I have to give this Ralphs store a lot of credit. Ever since the remodel, there has been something different about this store - an improved attitude. Every time I go in, there are people in all departments willing to help you and showing a courteous attitude - something I am not seeing at most competitors right now. The deli counter, the produce section, the seafood market, the bakery...all of them. And lately there have been employees doing samples of great appetizers and snacks. They have a good selection of organic produce, and they still have the self checkout counters for when I just need to get out with a few things quickly. I really enjoy going in to get groceries here. It was always a good value, but the improved store experience makes me happier about coming back. Well done. read more

Ok guy's, normally I don't like to give bad reviews, but the bakery failed me. Let me preface by saying, that I really do like shopping for groceries here and that everyone is really helpful. So I ordered a cake on Thursday for pick-up the following Monday. It was a white cake with white frosting and lemon filling. My only special request was that they put coconut on the outside of the cake. I was asked to call the following day and speak to the manager to confirm it could be done. I called, spoke to the manager, she was very nice, she said no problem. We even spoke about swirling some lemon on the cake, I said perfect. Fast forward to today, went to pick-up the cake, cake was ready but no lemon on top, luckily the coconut was on the cake as requested. I was asked if it looked ok, I said well hopefully there's lemon filling? The response from the person I dealt with, "oh I'm sure if you asked for it, it's in there". Well guess what? No lemon filling! The cake was good but I'm somewhat disappointed. read more

Hands down best fried chicken I have ever had. The pieces are a decent size, the meat is juicy, and the breading is crunchy and flavorful. Albertsons use to have really good fried chicken, but the size of their pieces have shrunk so much to the point it should be called fried cornish game hen. read more

I try to avoid going here unless I have to. The lines are always outrageously long and they do not have a selection of organic or all-natural raised meat. There also is not much of an organic fruit section. read more

Wow. I wish I had come here sooner. I usually go between Sprouts and Trader Joe's but neither really have a great meat/butcher department, so I'm glad I discovered this Ralph's finally. It's a really nice grocery store. I love the upscale feel. The store is very well organized and clean. Normally I wouldn't leave a review about a grocery store. Quite frankly most of us don't expect exceptional service at a grocery store that's open until 1 am. However, one employee in particular stood out from the rest. Cody truly demonstrated the qualities necessary to be successful in delivering excellent customer service. I was on a mission to buy 6 pound of shrimp on Christmas Eve and I was disappointed to see that all shrimp had been cleared, all lights were off, and nobody was standing behind the seafood counter. As Cody stepped out of the back room( I could only assume he was about ready to pack up) I asked if he could help me out with picking some shrimp from the freezer. Honestly, I expected a bs answer like, "Oh the freezer is locked, we're closed." On the contrary, he was extremely nice and not only did he get the shrimp for me, but he also measured it to exactly 6 lbs. At this point I was not only amazed, I was in awe! But wait.... there's more! This guy wouldn't even take a tip from me when I offered to compensate him for his great work! Cody if you're reading this, believe me when I say you are going to get far in life if you keep up the good work! I would give you 10 stars if I could! read more

The customer service here absolutely sucks. We ordered a Thanksgiving prepared food package over the phone. The lady who took the order on the phone diligently took all of our details and told us to show up at a certain day and time to pick-up the meal package. This was basically our family's Thanksgiving dinner. So, we show up to pick-up the order and our worst nightmare happened. No order under our name. They completely dropped the ball and not only were they not apologetic, they were incredibly rude. In essence, they made us feel like we lied and that we made the whole order up. Nothing to try and accept responsibility or offer any kind of service oriented discussion. Everyone we spoke to was absolutely horrible including the so called manager. Shame on you and thanks for ruining our Thanksgiving! Try opening a customer service manual once in a while, you might learn something. Based on your location's 2.5 stars, clearly I am not the only one to have a bad customer service experience here. read more

Stopped to pick up a few items on Christmas Eve, first they didn't carry what I wanted, I really miss pavilions, the market is packed, no surprise, what is a surprise is that on every aisle they have carts while they restock, seems the personnel would be better sourced running the registers and collecting carts (which there were none of) than blocking the aisles. read more

I come to the Starbucks in here everyday and Stacee I think her name is always has a mood like she doesn't want to help others like customer service is always horrible also there are two American looking guys I'm not racist I just don't know there names anyways always have an attitude and always get my order wrong all I ask for is a iced caramel macchiato with soy milk one they always ask hot or cold (didn't I just say iced?) And they don't listen to you anyways gives me regular milk. Really irritating that there are people out there with great customer service and hard working with no jobs and these guys come to work acting like they hate there job -_- read more

This review is about the guy at the bakery. First, we wait 5 minutes for someone to help us. A person gets paged and this guy walks up to the customers before us. The lady wants a cupcake. He grabs a plastic container and seems to have this whole conversation with himself. He has trouble getting the cupcake into the container so starts thumping on it. He can't seem to close the container so he gives it to her without sealing it and pricing it. Then it's our turn. The guy is still having a conversation with himself but he's mumbling, so it's hard to make out what he's saying. We ask him to slice our bread, a regular sized bread. He grabs the bread and put it in the slicer. He fiddles around with it a minute or 5 and decides it doesn't fit so why not cut the loaf in half and then slice it up. He then goes ahead and puts the bread back in the bag but it doesn't fit right so he shoves it in until it does. Still in conversation with himself, he hands us the bread. We leave, tell someone at the cash register but not much of a response. That was weird! read more

How funny..my review is about ANNETTE as well.. if you happen to end up in her line do not even bother getting your groceries without being poorly treated with snarky remarks and inappropriate sarcasm. I go here for lunch quite often..but after dealing with her I do not think its worth my time or money. I usuallt get a salad with dressing on the side. they give you separate containers for your salad as well as your dressing. i have never had to pay for my dressing on the side and i have been working in the plaza for almost TWO YEARS. as soon as she weighed my salad she then looked in my hand and said "um i need to weigh that as well" and glared at me as if i was trying to steal something. i said that ive never been charged for dressing on the side before and then she laughed and looked at me like i was stupid and said "uhhhhh its always been like this. it either goes in your salad or im weighing the dressing and charging for it" lady behind me took my side, said it was ridiculous and she then attempted to make the lady behind me think as if she were dumb too. WHERE IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND POLITENESS??? This matter did not have to turn into such a big deal and she held up the entire line just to be able to prove a customer wrong.. of course i went without the dressing. This is probably one of the "MOST RACIST" stores I have ever shopped at. I have been living in Irvine for over 7 years and I have only shopped at Albertson's or Ralph's. After witnessing Anette Leering and yelling at one of her employees when I walked into the store who happens to be Hispanic, i immediately clarified my suspicions that she is indeed racist against the Hispanic community. IN FACT I purposely stood in her line behind a white female and noticed how she immediately greeted her right away *almost as if she was being submissive*, as soon as she was finished ringing her items up, It was then my turn and she didn't greet me first until i said, "hello..." all she did was slightly give me a grin, and said "hi". She didn't bother to make small talk with me as she did with the white female customer, I guess because of the color of my skin i don't deserve to be asked some generic questions like her, "how are you doing today?" or perhaps its my perfect English that she can't understand. I may be Hispanic but as a general manager and the owner of my dealership we treat everyone equally and ethically. I am truly disappointed at the level of disrespect I witnessed, and felt. I will never spend my money at this location ever again. My dealership would always buy from this place in bulk and spend thousands. Now I will be more than happy to spend a little more time and money in gas to send my employees to any other groceries stores for any bulk items. Walked in to purchase balloons as I usually do and noticed they had a guy working in their floral department. The customers ahead of me mentioned it would be a while as they had been waiting for over 15 min to have him blow balloons up. He finally finished so I told him I wanted a balloon bouquet and picked out the balloons. I went around and purchased other items then came back expecting my bouquet to be done. Only 2 balloons had been blown up out of 8. After waiting for another 10 min he finally finished and tried to tie a weight on which he clearly did not know how to do. 2 of my balloons flew in the air and I finally said i'm very late please just give me my balloons as they are. He would not give me my balloons and insisted on finishing putting the weight on. total waste of money considering I didn't even receive everything I paid for. read more

I go here all the time today I was on my lunch break and went in to get a few items. My total was $18.00. I realized I left my wallet at my office. I asked the cashier if I could write a check she said yes. I wrote my check then she asked for my ID. I told her again I left my wallet but I know my number and I have a picture on my name badge. My name badge matches the check. I live locally and it was $18.00. I also used my Ralph's reward card so they can see I have shopped there for over 20 years. They still said no I can't write a check since I didn't physically have my license. I understand policy and procedures but it was $18.00, really they couldn't make an exception 1time. Then the bagger said I took a check without a license and it was a bad check. The checker said we aren't saying your check is bad. I could understand if it was a larger transaction but come on $18.00 and I had a photo id badge with my first and last name. read more

I was oh, but what about the other boxes since I had bought multiple, she roll them up on her screen and repeat "see the minus" and just continued ringing other items. This review is ONLY regarding the deli. I've been shopping at this store since they opened back in the 90's and it's a good store, friendly staff. But I never tried the deli before. I had a large party being held on a Sunday. I ordered a humus party platter and a boneless chicken wing platter on the previous Thursday. When I went at my scheduled time on Sunday, only the humus platter was made up. They forgot to prepare the chicken platter. The counter man went to the back and some man came out saying that he was going off work in a few minutes (like I cared). They literally took the dried up chicken that had been in the pan at the counter and put a foil lid on it. It was not placed on a party platter. Nor did it have a bowl of ranch dip surrounded by vegetables like in the picture. All it was was dried out chicken that was probably prepared the day before. It was embarrassing to serve it at my party. I could have done better and cheaper by buying some frozen chicken and doing it myself. Never again will I try their catering menu. read more

I had a horrible experience today at this Ralph's. I went shopping for groceries with my almost two year old and spent $80. I checked out with an older lady who wasn't too friendly. She had someone from the Coffee Bean come to bag my groceries (Sue I believe her name was). Things were ok until I got to the parking lot and went to return the cart. Sue followed me out and asked me if I had stolen anything from the store! WTF?! I had just spent money on groceries. Why would she accuse me of this? I have never been so offended. She said she saw me going into my bag... which was my DIAPER bag. I told her yes, I go in there often to give snacks to my toddler and to dig out my wallet. WTF lady?! I will never be going back to this store. I called the manager to report the incident and she apologized, but as long as Sue works there, there's no way I will ever go there again. Big mistake, BIG!
