The service was fairly terrible, with the waitress not stopping by our table even once to fill waters throughout the meal, and appearing almost angered by our presence. I ordered the vegetarian hash option, which got progressively better as I ate, since the sauce was able to soak more fully into the potatoes. Great vibes all around. By far the best brunch in Vancouver, the pulled pork hash is to die for and never disappoints. Every time I've been I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes for my food. Upon asking, they had not looked at their reservation list for the morning, and said they had no open tables for us. Not bad - tiki-themed joint near Lonsdale Quay with a laid-back surfer vibe - tons of tiki drinks on offer from reasonable to a $20+ huge fishbowl sized fruity drink along with some massive burgers and Tex-Mex food. They had a 100 oz. beer tower on offer for $34 that's similar to the Tower of Power you get at a Fogg N' Suds. I don't know if it's actually 100 oz, but we were about to squeeze about 7 sleeves out of it. Jugs were around $25 - so it was a no-brainer for us. I usually have a better memory about how much stuff costs, but I think that was promptly washed away by the 2nd beer tower we had. The food and drinks were pretty pricey, but some of the dishes that were scooted past us looked amazing as we were in a beer n' nachos mode that night. Normally, this joint would probably earn a measly two-stars from me - but I think the best part about this place is the ambiance. Sufficiently busy without being packed, the server was prompt and attentive and the music selection was probably the most eclectic I've heard in a restaurant. Never thought I would hear NWA and White Snake together on the same playlist. As the songs change, look on the other people's faces for the odd mix of confusion and familiarity - it was pretty cool. Anyways, a really fun vibe that encourages irresponsible drinking - a bit of a splurge for burgers and Tex-Mex, but would check out the food again the next time I'm in the area. read more

If you're looking for a great place to hit post-Grouse Grind, look no further than this funky tiki house near the quay. A wide array of creative drinks (in various sizes) and late night dishes, and very attentive and friendly wait staff. Fantastic food, great location, funky decor - the service can be a little slow especially during peak times, but if you're not in a hurry and are looking for a hearty meal, this is a great choice. Saturday brunch featured free French Press coffee, too! The burger I had was one of the best I've experienced in Vancouver, so even if you're not feeling like experimenting with one of their other dishes, you can't go wrong. Definitely 5 stars! When I lived on the North Shore, this was my absolute favorite place to go. Huge fruity fishbowl drinks, great food that is always perfect, and fried banana's for desert!!! Went for Brunch, my poached eggs were made in a form and had a skin on them - toast tasted like whatever had been cooking in the oven - potatoes were chewy bland - bacon was dripping in grease - our table smelt like sanitizer. The service was friendly and the chalkboard tiki drawings were rad - but the atmosphere is icky and lacking the kitschy surf vibes they're going for. I read the reviews and decided to check out Raglans... it was nothing like the people said. The waitress was slow and didn't bother to check on us after we got our food. Had she checked we would have got at least two more rounds of booze. I got the cajun chicken wrap which was good but not amazing. I found two hard chunks of gristle inside, the black beans muted some of the spice and it was wrapped poorly so I had to eat it with a knife and fork. I was very curious about the deep fried banana so we each ordered one and let me save you ... go for the brownie. The banana is obviously deep fried in the meat fryer and it tasted like whatever they fried before the banana went in. I will go back and give it a second chance but I am hoping I get the other waitress who was all over the place and refreshing her customers drinks with gusto. read more

My friend & I visited for Happy Hour around 5. Service was very good, as were the lime margaritas. Only complaint was their bland "classic" nachos. Huge portions at a reasonable price. I ordered the pulled pork hash, which was really tasty. Very crispy potatoes and flavorful pork. My only criticism is that the poached eggs were cooked all the way through (I love when the yolk is runny). It was like that for our entire table of 6. Great spot with decent outdoor seating for brunch. Right by the view if the port and enough shade to hide you from the sun if sitting outside too long. Customer service was great and food was amazing. I ordered just a normal breakfast, and the seasoning and onion on the eggs were just right. Went on a Friday night and it was packed. Had a fancy cocktail (a "passionate kiss") at the cozy but cute bar while I waited for the group and a table to come up. The staff was super friendly and communicative throughout the evening. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. Overall - excellent! The food: I had the Louisiana hot wings with blue cheese dip and they were fantastic. A few others at the table order the Classic Poutine and all loved it. Another friend order the BBQ wings and inhaled them in a similar fashion as I did mine. More on the cocktails: I also tried a shaken strawberry margarita and it was lovely. Others had (and loved): Shaken raspberry margaritas (several of these vaporized pretty quick at our table), pina colada (nicely decorated), Passionate Kiss, Red wine... We all loved everything. so my girlfriend took me here because it had amazing Yelp reviews for breakfast. Well when I entered I was not impressed the seats looked worn down the restaurant looked pretty beat up and it is definitely what I would consider a hole in the wall especially for the neighborhood. But don't let that stop you the breakfast was really good, one of the best I have had in Vancouver during my vacation. don't come here expecting anything fancy but come here expecting pretty good food at a pretty good price nothing outstanding but it definitely got the job done. read more

Great place we stumbled upon. The poutine with chicken (Mexican flair) was amazing and I ate way too much! One child had the 540 burger and loved it, the other had the BBQ chicken pizza and loved it. Hubby had Jamaican Jerk sandwich and grapefruit ale and proclaimed it excellent. Would definitely come here again!
