Came here for dinner so my poutine obsessed daughter could get her poutine fix for dinner. She…read moreordered the Classic poutine as she usually does and a Virgin Blue Hawaiian drink. I ordered an individual size Baja Nomad Nachos. I also ordered a Virgin Witch's Rock drink. We also used up a few coupons that we had for free tacos and ordered Ancho Chicken Taco, Grilled Basa Fish Taco, and Garden Veggie Taco. Forgot to tell the server "no cilantro" so ummm...food wasn't quite as good as usual but I'm not deducting points for that cuz that was our own mistake for forgetting to say "no cilantro." (Big sigh) It's such a pain though to have to keep on remembering to say that everywhere we go. Why don't restaurants realize that not everyone likes cilantro and make it a policy to bring it up with customers? Why don't they remind the customers that there's cilantro in a dish and then ask if the customer is OK with it? Anyone reading this right now is probably thinking I should just get over it and deal with it. I'm really just venting I suppose. The cilantro problem is just hugely annoying for both my daughter and I.

Lots of Benedict's so I naturally had to have one. The good - the meats are really good especially the pulled pork. Very tender and flavourful. The bacon is decent. Altogether the Benedict's are decent though next time I'll focus on the pulled pork. The egg I asked for medium - not really runny. Though that's a really small criticism.

Their "brunch burger" is a major missed opportunity though... this really should have a fried egg on it. You could possibly add an egg from the ala carte section of the menu, but those cost $3, so you'd be looking at $27 for a burger and a half a cup of fried potatoes. That's insanely expensive. Currently the brunch burger has two small patties which have a tendency to overcook and become dry. My patties were well-done despite me asking for medium - don't even ask if the kitchen can't deliver. Not sure what makes that a brunch burger, but it would be much better if those two patties were combined into one, and a fried egg was added, while staying below a $24 price point expensive burgers in Vancouver. Other restaurants can do it.... Oh, the other disappointing thing is that the card reader defaults to tips at 18, 25, and 28%. Not cool - we already pay servers high wages in BC, tipping should be 10% if not eliminated altogether. 28%? No thanks!

The ambiance is so cute, staff were all so friendly and welcoming, and the food and cocktails were beyond delicious. Definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area and looking for a bite or a cocktail. Food/drink review: Paper planes: (5/5) Super well balanced and delicious. Red flag: (5/5)Obsessed. The flavor profile of this drink was perfect. I could've had 2 or 3 of these. Vodka pasta: (5/5) DELICIOUS. Not even being dramatic, some of the best pasta I've ever had. The sauce was so flavorful, creamy, and the noodles were well coated. Caesar salad: (5/5) This was so refreshing and delicious!! Only problem is I wish we got a bigger one lol. The dressing was so creamy and tangy, yumm! Shishito peppers: (4/5) Simple, but yummy. Cooked perfectly and not too spicy. Asparagus: (5/5) Surprisingly sooo delicious! These were cooked to perfection, had great texture, and dipping sauce was yummy! Tuna tartare: (5/5) The fish was so fresh and this dish was to die for. Seriously could've eaten this entire bowl.

I will mention I have celiac and asked for what I could safely have gluten free and was surprised they had so many options! I had the butter beef tataki, which I enjoyed but definitely better to share since it's a lot for one person. I also had the bang bang shrimp which is made with mochi flour and gives it an incredible crunch, I will mention I did not this this was spicy at all but I have a high tolerance so take that as you will. The star of the show here was absolutely the spicy vodka which I had with their gluten free noodle, I must admit that this is probably one of the best spicy vodka sauces I've ever had! Lastly, I had an affogato which they were able to do with decaf. Overall, the service was incredible. Every server and hostess was incredibly kind and attentive. They did everything they could to accommodate my celiac. Of course eat where you feel comfortable, what works for me may not for you. Lastly, the location is very vibey. The indoor and outdoor seating options are both awesome choices. They had great music playing that was not too loud and allowed patrons to be able to still chat. I loved the food so much I saved some in the fridge and trekked it through the airport all the way back to LA for my partner to try! Can't wait to be back.

Full disclosure: I won a contest for a tour and tasting here…read more We sort of didn't know what to expect and had not been to the space save for walking by outside. What a great spot - I can envision sipping cocktails in the summer with the doors open, or inside in winter - very nicely done up by someone with an eye. The tour exceeded our expectations and took us into 2 other spaces not normally accessible including a cask room in the back that can be booked for small to medium sized groups. Our guide was the owner and we are curious science minded people so it was a great match. Jan is an excellent teacher and story-teller. The tasting really educated me but let's not mince words,.. it was also tasty! The final phase of the tour is to show you how to mix gins into cocktails with a little hands on mixology tutorial with batertender Ky. All told several samples, and cocktails were included - all amazing. All of the staff were great. It was just a really enjoyable afternoon and worth of a rare 5 stars! I think this place is a must stop for a day adventure from Vancouver to the Shipyards area. It should also be noted that these guys aren't kidding around: national and international spirit awards across the board with some really quality innovative (but not gimmicky) products here.
