Went to Brass Fish for a group lunch and every item came out quick and perfect. Juicy burger with perfectly crispy fries.

More famous for happy hour/after-work in the downtown. Has a very cool interior, that large whale skeleton! We ordered calamari and seafood risotto, both were tasty. Food: 4/5 | Service: 5/5 | Ambiance 5/5 | Price: 5/5

The ambiance is pub like with televisions and a gorgeous bar yet it is open and clean. Everyone we encountered at the restaurant was friendly and professional. I ordered the cumin toasted salmon and quinoa bowl with avocado. It had complex flavors and was healthy and delicious. My husband ordered the Chicken Katz i burger with fries. The portion was large. The chicken was crispy with a nice sauce on it. We also ordered the crispy prawn tacos which were outstanding! Th e flavors and combination of ingredients could rival any food competition!!!

The Brass Fish is in a beautiful old building in downtown Vancouver that is currently being renovated, but the restaurant space is seemingly unaffected. We were greeted by a very pleasant hostess, and our server was super friendly and helpful. Our Prawn Tacos appetizer (no picture, sorry) was very tasty with a surprisingly complex combination of flavors. My chicken Katsu burger had a lightly breaded and generously sized chicken breast fillet topped with cabbage and a couple of yummy sauces. SO good! My wife's salmon and quinoa bowl tasted fresh from the dock and was a very healthy and satisfying option. It's so great to be so pleasantly surprised by an unknown restaurant! If we lived here we would return frequently.

Great bar. Many drinks. Great bartender. Service was wonderful and food, tuna melt, buns and dumplings. All great. Modern music played. Not too loud.

This place did not disappoint! Was visiting from the states and this place was recommend to us for dinner. We had reservations on a Saturday. We walked in and we're seated right away. Servers were young and very well dressed. Dress code is more business casual. The restaurant is very aesthetic, urban and trendy. They are playing music and have televisions. This place is definitely catered to the more to the 20-30 yr old crowd. We ordered drinks and food and it all came out in a timely manner. The food was absolutely delish. After reading some reviews on this place, yea the servers look intimidating but if you are nice to them and chat with them they are super nice. We had a lovely conversation with our server and she even recommended some places and bars to check out! I would recommend making reservations before visiting and again, this place is geared more to the younger crowd and is also run by a younger crowd. If you're old and picky then don't come here. If your young and looking for an aesthetic place with yummy food and drinks, then this place is for you.

They chose a charity for the quarter and it's $10/person. I really wish more places did this. The service you get is top notch. So good in fact, that they will make you the drink of your choice so long as they have the ingredients. Can't wait to be back in Vancouver to have that Paella again.

Service was good, friendly. The restaurant is the same as I recall, clean enough. A little cramped and the seating isnt too comfortable. Its really not a good place to hang out for a long time, but rather sit down, eat, and get out type of place. I had the lavender latte and the Tagine this time. Ive had it before and at least its pretty consistent. Ive tried several other things on their menu in the past too, all pretty solid 4/5. Nothing standout as so amazing to deserve 5 stars, but consistent and tasty. I did have a reservation which they charge $10/person for, purely for donation to a charity and does not contribute to your meal at all, and also nonrefundable. While I find this somewhat annoying, I dont blame them for doing this from a business standpoint. They always have a lineup so there is no shortage of customers for them. There is no reason they need to deal with the headache of a ton of reservations. On the flip side, they honoured my reservation in a very timely fashion and I bypassed the line, so props to them for doing that part right. If you have to park, then you may find street metered parking or use one of the nearby paid lots.

But what really sets it apart is the people. Every single person we interacted with, from our servers to the management team, was genuinely kind, attentive, and made us feel like regulars by day two. The food? Consistently incredible. Not a single miss across four days, which feels almost suspicious (in the best way). The portions are generous without being overwhelming, and every plate comes out looking like it belongs on a magazine cover. You can tell there's real care behind what they're doing. A special shoutout to Leah, the manager, who somehow manages to be both incredibly professional and effortlessly personable. She runs a tight ship but still makes time to connect, which doesn't go unnoticed. By the end of our trip, Alouette wasn't just a breakfast spot--it became part of our routine, and honestly, part of what we'll miss most about Vancouver. I'd come back here in a heartbeat... and very likely order the exact same thing all over again.

The flavor profile of this drink was perfect. I could've had 2 or 3 of these. Vodka pasta: (5/5) DELICIOUS. Not even being dramatic, some of the best pasta I've ever had. The sauce was so flavorful, creamy, and the noodles were well coated. Caesar salad: (5/5) This was so refreshing and delicious!! Only problem is I wish we got a bigger one lol. I will mention I have celiac and asked for what I could safely have gluten free and was surprised they had so many options! I had the butter beef tataki, which I enjoyed but definitely better to share since it's a lot for one person. I also had the bang bang shrimp which is made with mochi flour and gives it an incredible crunch, I will mention I did not this this was spicy at all but I have a high tolerance so take that as you will. The star of the show here was absolutely the spicy vodka which I had with their gluten free noodle, I must admit that this is probably one of the best spicy vodka sauces I've ever had! Lastly, I had an affogato which they were able to do with decaf. Overall, the service was incredible. Every server and hostess was incredibly kind and attentive. They did everything they could to accommodate my celiac. Of course eat where you feel comfortable, what works for me may not for you. Lastly, the location is very vibey. The indoor and outdoor seating options are both awesome choices. They had great music playing that was not too loud and allowed patrons to be able to still chat. I loved the food so much I saved some in the fridge and trekked it through the airport all the way back to LA for my partner to try! Can't wait to be back.
