Supper affordable good eats! Been to LA Grill & Bistro many times with friends and always had a solid meal. Their drink prices are like from 20 years ago! They also offer lunch and dinner specials so check out their website for the daily specials. My favourites are the nachos, chicken souvlaki, New York Steak. My friend loved the BLT and LA Burger. There is discount eating and then there is discount dining. Ikea and Golden Coin, qualifies in the former. Golden Coin, IMHO is actually *healthier* than Ikea. Who knows what fillers and other preservatives is in the pre-prepared food of Ikea. Is Ikea edible? Yes. Will it Kill you? Unlikely. LA Grill is the latter, discount dining. Ironic that its next to a discount grocery chain, FreshCo in the same strip mall. If you want an addition to discount eating, there's also the Arches in the strip mall complex. There's also the option of fighting with the bottle collectors for some couch change at the Return-it Recycling depot a stone's throw away. DDDD, dumpster diving discount dining at its best. Derision aside, LA Grill is quite decent for what it is. It's not fancy, nor is it gourmet. The menu is not extensive, let alone exhaustive. Very simple with options for everyone's palate. The pricing is the bonus. It's extremely reasonable. Hauntingly similar to X-Site Bistro in North Burnaby. Others have mentioned that they maybe the same owners or related in some way. Worth a visit. read more

Went for a late 830ish dinner since we were in Richmond. Was pretty busy at this hour and when we went in there were 2 servers but the younger must have been just finishing cuz the senior staff member was alone taking orders, requests, clearing tables etc.. and let me tell you she was doing a fabulous job considering how many tables there were and she was by herself. We ordered calamari for appy, I got chicken souvlaki and wife got the blackened salmon. The calamari was done almost perfectly. Nice portion, tender meat, the tzatziki sauce was acceptable. I personally would like a bit more flavor but I've actually had worse at specifically greek restaurants. The chicken souvlaki skewer was seasoned well, and moist/ tender. Rice pilaf lacks a bit of flavour but was cooked well. Eaten together with the chicken brought harmony to the lacking rice. The accompanying pita was warm and soft wifi was delightful. Caesar salad was dressed perfectly with every leaf dressed. A bit of cheese would have elevated the salad a bit more. Otherwise a solid meal. Wife's salmon although cooked perfectly was technically not blackened. But was super tender and moist. Salad she said was just kinda sprinkled with balsamic dressing. The roasted potatoes were just ok. Overall the entire meal is very decent for the price point. Would definitely go back if in the area. read more

We were staying in a nearby B & B and he suggested we try. They were slightly busy when we arrived. A sweet young girl seated us and was our waitress. The salad came with balsamic vinegar and when I asked for a side of ranch she brought me more balsamic. I let it go. The hamburger reminded me of a meatloaf sandwich. It was a slightly different texture. The salmon was just lightly blackened. Seems like a spot that locals hang out in. read more

First time dining here for lunch! Casual atmosphere. Had their Chicken Souvlaki lunch special, which was an affordable price of $10 with the purchase of a beverage. Decent portion of food, although the rice was a tad dry and the chicken was quite plain (needed more char and seasoning). The plate also had potatoes, pita bread, and a small side salad. Service was friendly! Would give 4 stars for the affordability and service, but little less than 4 for the actual taste of the food. read more

I'm quite convinced the LA in LA Grill stands for " Less Annoying " . Why ? Everything here is so streamlined with no fuss . Cocktails ? They offer just a few . Daily specials ? Two per day to choose from . What about desserts ? Tiramisu and mud pie ONLY . Selection is indeed somewhat limited in certain areas of the menu but whatever on it is generally fairly satisfying . We recommend the wildly popular and great-tasting steak and garlic prawns . At $19 there is simply no competition . Anywhere . read more

This gem of a neighborhood gathering place serves up Greek-inspired dishes at affordable prices literally unheard of nowadays. The $12 6 oz. Monday night steak special blows our minds but you do have to buy a drink to enjoy the offer. Talking about drinks they all are very tempting too like $6 for a house red/white with $5 drink specials like Caesars and Long Island ice tea etc. Their "Purple Rain" makes me miss Prince so much! No wonder patrons are still pouring in after 9 (they close at 10) LA ^_^ read more

I had the garlic prawns which came with rice, garlic toast and potatoes. It was pretty yummy. The $15 deal I had came with clam chowder and caesar salad too. Pretty filling. Service was good too, with the server coming by to top up water without being asked. There is a big parking lot out front, but it is tricky finding the place and getting into the plaza, especially if you do not live in the area. I had to circle round the block before getting there. It is cash only for under $50 I think. read more

Decent Western style restaurant in the strip mall at Blundell and No.2. Parking is plentiful in the lot surrounding the building. The interior is modern but rather dim. The seating area is unique in that it is shaped like a H, with the washrooms in the middle. There is at TV screen as well. Staff are friendly. No complaints. The menu looks suspiciously like that of X-site in Vancouver/Burnaby, but rumour has it this restaurant/chain came from them originally. My friends and I each had the $15 (coupon) combo. I had the garlic prawns (11 total). The main is served with Greek rice, mini potatoes, garlic bread, and a slice of lemon. Included sides are a bowl of clam chowder and a salad. The food overall is pretty decent quality. Prawns seemed reasonably fresh. Tried some of my buddy's steak and it seemed decent as well. Chowder was pretty good. Salad was decent but nothing special. My only complaint was that I left a bit hungry at the end, but this happens fairly regularly. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point. Recommended. read more

First time coming to the restaurant. We came at 615 and was seated right away. There's a wait for people who came after us. We ordered the Monday NY Steak special and the garlic shrimp. Portions are good for their prices. The food taste okay and no complain. They are a bit understaff therefore service is a bit slow but it's alright as we're not in a hurry. Through the grapevine staff from either of the two X-Site Grill locations in Vancouver and Burnaby branched off to start this establishment. Their identical menu and daily specials are a dead giveaway to support the rumor. Our party decided to give them a try with a $15 per person coupon which included Clam Chowder & Caesar Salad with your choice of entrée New York Steak, Garlic Prawns, Grilled Salmon, or Chicken Souvlaki. The clam chowder was good, creamy with a variety of seafood ingredients. Caesar salad came next and it was no better or worse from what you expect from other restaurants, but I have to say the portions were small. I ordered the New York Steak and it was decently cooked to a medium rare, served with brown rice, garlic bread, and potato wedges. The place is uniquely shaped like a "H" with bathrooms in the middle separating two seating areas. The décor is modern but a little dim on the eyes. Staff were young, friendly, and efficient. Free parking is plentiful as it's situated in the strip mall on No.2 Road and Blundell in Richmond, BC. read more

LA Grill & Bistro is located at Blundell Centre - a small but very busy shopping plaza located at the corner of Blundell Rd & 2Rd in Richmond. Whenever I passed this restaurant I noticed it was always busy inside. Very cool relaxing interior - we were promptly seated & served immediately. I'd wanted a Cosmo but settled on a Purple Rain cocktail. We ordered the Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo & I had the Prawn Spicy Linguini. Don't forget to ask for Parmesan cheese & sprinkle that all over - like I did! Absolutely fantastic - loved these dishes! Most of all the price was great - one walks out feeling they just left having bought something at a super sale rate! So if you're in the area - give LA Grill a try! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Originally came here to meet some friends on their suggestion, and as we were waiting for them, I was astonished by the menu prices! Truly unbeatable especially in 2023. We went on a weekend afternoon, around 3pm. The service was quick and attentative, our server was very nice and made sure we had all we needed multiple times. It wasn't too busy so our food came out pretty fast. We also went again on a Wednesday night and although it was busier, food still came out in a timely manner. Ambiance is great, just a cute quaint little local place. Cocktails were strong!! Got the tequila sunrise and it was great, no complaints. I got the Mozzarella Burger with Caesar salad ~ $15, great portions!! The burger itself is not a huge one, but coupled with the salad and the potatoes, I was STUFFED. Taste wise, I think I noticed some kind of after taste with the mozzarella, not sure what it was but it wasn't anything gross, just wasn't used to it. Not sure if it's the particular kind of cheese they use but it was still really good and didn't detract from the meal! I believe its the cheese because I got the chicken pesto another time and noticed the exact same taste (it has mozzarella on top). Their Caesar salad IS THE BEST. I don't know what they put in it but it's like crack I love it so much. Next time I could just eat a whole Caesar salad with chicken. read more

Can't go wrong with the late night specials here. Every Monday to Saturday, from 8.30 - 11pm, their incredibly cheap late night specials menu is available, offering $4.95 - $5.95 burgers and a variety of appetizers ranging from $3.95 - $6.95. We came here for a late dinner and decided to get a clam chowder soup ($4.95), a mushroom burger ($4.95), and an L.A. burger ($5.95). The clam chowder soup had lots of ingredients, and came with a side of crispy garlic bread. The taste was pretty good, quite possibly better than some other ones I've had at fine dining restaurants. The burgers each arrived with lots of salad & a side of potatoes. To be honest, the taste of the burgers was comparable to those $10+ burgers from chain restaurants such as Red Robin or White Spot. Overall, service was ok but the food quality & portion sizes were what really surprised us. Above average quality & large portion sizes - all at such amazingly low prices! We will definitely be back again when the late night hunger pangs strike. read more

LA Grill is a great place for some comfort food. I especially enjoy coming here for the late night deals, which are available from 8:30pm and onwards everyday. You can get their LA burger (which is STACKED) for only $5.99. I usually add an avocado on top to elevate it to the next level. My other go-to orders are the garlic prawns and the zucchini sticks. Food is reasonably priced and pair well with beers. They have different drink specials for each day of the week as well. read more

We came here on a groupon (three course meal: clam chowder, caesar salad, any entree) and we left extremely full and fairly satisfied. The clam chowder was massive and filling, but just a bit salty. Neither of us could finish the gigantic bowl and requested for our salads shortly. We both had the baby shrimp caesar (could have picked grilled chicken but didn't) and it was decent as well but there was a bit too much sauce for us. (Note: I'm Asian and I'm used to lightly seasoned dishes so the amount of dressing was probably perfect for a lot of people) The mains were of good value because we both picked the $15.99 dinners that come with garlic prawns. We shared the new york steak and salmon, and I actually preferred the salmon while my friend preferred the steak. The garlic shrimp were cooked very well and were quite flavourful. They went really well with the rice and I managed to finish ALL the carbs somehow... (toasted garlic bread, a heaping of rice, a roasted potato) Anyways, the Groupon was a really good deal and I've eaten here before for their specials and they were pretty affordable and well priced as well. It's one of the only "Canadian" restaurants in the area, as most of the other eateries are either fast food joints or Asian restaurants. Definitely recommended! read more

wife and i had the munchies the other night , so we thought why not give this place a try. we've always wanted to try their late night specials which start from 830pm onwards... we ordered the chicken wings w/SP. the. tried the garlic shrimps. also had a pint of Sapporo for only $4.5! what a great price!! the wings were crispylicious. inside the meat was juicy. not too salty. seasoned just right. came hot and fresh. the garlic shrimps were equally amazing! succulent and the garlic butter sauce was awesome. dish came with 2 slices of warm garlic bread. crusty on the outside but soft and full of flavour on the inside. my only concern abt the place is that if u decide to sit inside, it is quite dark. lol. they need better lighting. service was quick and efficient. came with lots of smiles. i would repeat for sure. cheers! happy eating!! read more

I love this place so much. here are the reasons why. 1. it's so cheap! you can get a burger, salad, and potato wedges for under $10! if you go at a certain hour it's sometimes $5! this is basically as cheap as mcdonald's. 2. the staff are sooo nice. once, i left my airpods there, and i later called and they were so nice about it. i also had an experience where one of the lemon wedges in my water had mold. it was barely noticeable. They kindly replaced it. 3. the food is delicious. nothing much to say about this. overall, i recommend %100 percent to go to LA grill. it's always my #1 choice when i don't know what to eat! read more

Came here after an evening gym session with a buddy. I had previously been to the LA Grill on Oak and King Ed for a Groupon deal but had a pretty bad experience so my expectations were not high. This location in Richmond has lots of parking and we were seated fairly quickly. The menu is in comic sans which is an interesting choice but right off the bat it's clear that there's some good deals on beer and daily dinner specials. However if you work in the neighbourhood, their $5.95 lunch specials are very attractive. We got the chicken strips as a starter, they were served piping hot with some honey mustard dipping sauce. Overall they are okay but they seem like they might have been frozen. It's a very thin breading compared to other chicken strips, not bad for around $5 but the portion is pretty average. For the entree, I ordered the LA Burger which has bacon, cheddar, and mushrooms on it. A classic pairing and for just $9, a pretty good burger. The side salad that comes with it is just slapped together with no dressing so the $1 upgrade to a Caesar salad might be worth it. It comes with roasted potatoes with no option for fries or any other substitute. In my opinion this is a missed opportunity as fries/yam fries would pair nicely with a lot of their menu items. Perhaps they don't have the equipment to do fries. They also had a good beer special for just $4.50 a pint although I just went with a regular iced tea. I was disappointed to find out that the $2.50 iced tea did not include free refills. While overall the menu seems like it offers good value, their soft drinks should really be priced better. Overall I would say it was a 3.5 experience factoring in the food, service, and value. The fact that LA Grill is reasonably priced and open late definitely help. At 9:30PM on a Tuesday night, the restaurant was still decently busy. read more

Worst experience I've had in a restaurant. We were seated at a table near the back and waited at least 25 minutes for anyone to notice us. The restaurant was not even remotely busy. No one at our table had any menus or water. Our steaks were cold and tasteless when they arrived. After we told our waitress that our food was cold, she reacted in a very snobby manner. Minutes later, she came back with our food warmed... CLEARLY our plates had just been popped into the microwave and served back to us. If I wanted microwaved food, I would have just stayed home and eaten a nice TV dinner. Needless to say, we did not leave a tip and we will never be going back. read more

First time at This neighborhood restaurant. It is a little small, not too small. Seating are not super comfortable. Services ok. I had the steak and prawn lunch. It comes with salad, rice, garlic bread and red potato! That's a lot for me! I do plain salad and used their house vinegar, which actually matched with the whole dish. Steak and prawn both cooked properly (not over not under) and taste good! My buddy got a LA burger, which comes with salad and red potato. Good for the price, taste and portion! Two meal plus a daily special drink and the bill comes $29.22. Sure will come back for their late night menu. It offers good priced good food. Nothing fancy, pretty filling! This place looked seedy from the outside. They have outdoor and indoor dining. Once inside my fears were laid to rest. The specials are a antastic value! Amazingly priced drinks at 4.25 for a martini and specials of the night was about 10. I had the Wednesday night special a Chicken Souvlaki with rice, potatoes and salad. Everything was very good except the potatoes. Which tasted odd. Normally there is a nice lemon flavour to dishes like this but this one tasted... more... sour to me. Not sour like it had expired but less lemon and more sour cream. It was an odd flavour. The drinks were made appropriately but they served there martini's with little straws in them. The stemware was dirty. Blatant lipstick on one of the martini glasses and not the right shade of the person drinking it! I do question what they are using for "lime juice" as it seemed more like "lime flavouring" I asked if the Salmon was farmed and the answer I got was a, "I believe it is yes." Our waitress seemed eager to please and that is the answer she thought I wanted. I would double check on the Salmon before concluding it is farmed or not. Over all a very good experience I will definitely be back for the great value when in Richmond. read more

Came here the other day with my dad on a Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch since he said it was his favourite place. They have a pretty affordable lunch special from Monday's to Friday's it seems if you order with a drink. But since I went in the Saturday it was regular price I ordered the New England chowder with garlic bread, a fettuccine Alfredo with garlic bread, and a pint of the sapporo. The chowder was a solid 10/10 for the portion sizing, price and the flavour! It was a very hearty soup for about $5 so it was definitely worth it. The Fettuccine Alfredo was also really good as well. Compared to other places I've a simple dish like this, personally I felt that LA Grill does it better than most places haha! It definitely doesn't taste or feel as greasy as most fettuccine Alfredo dishes taste and I enjoyed whatever cheese was on top as well. They have a fairly decently large menu so you're bound to find at least one thing you'd like. And they also have a pretty good variety of alcohol bailable as well! Service was pretty good and the food arrived fairly quickly. I would definitely comeback here again! read more

Great little place and the prices are AMAZING! Lunch specials are incredible $7 Mon - Fri 11am - 4pm. I don't think you can even buy some lousy or gross McDonalds meal for that. And the food is good. A pleasant surprise and def not expected based on their prices. Tbh, I was suspicious and had low/no expectations when we saw their prices. So I ordered dishes I've had many times and at many other places, and it was as good as many but at half the price. No exaggeration. We had their Garlic Prawns Special which was yummy and came with a sm green side salad, a very generous amount of prawns, garlic toast, and potatoes, all for $10. Crazy! Also have had their Chicken Souvlaki and Prawns at $14 (hello). It came with a skewer of chicken, seasoned rice, a sm salad, bread, and tzatziki. Compared to a plain Chicken Souvlaki (no prawns) two weeks later a highly reviewed Greek restaurant elsewhere, which was double the price and not as good. Truth. I'd never go back to the latter but definitely going to this little place. And fast. That kitchen hustles. If we need to grab a quick bite they can deliver. There was a constant stream of ppl coming and going to pick up take out orders. The decor is kinda quirky. It's not flashy or fancy but good-for-you food which . The service the last time was a bit slow but in fairness they got hit all at once and had a line of ppl show up at the same time to eat in, plus everyone picking up their take-out orders. read more

Upon first entering LA Grill I couldn't help but wonder "where the hell am I?" It is dark and there is freaky art and weird finishing all over the walls. Too dark for me personally I don't mind mood lighting but I can't see in the dark and I struggled to make it through a meal here. Oh my god that made me sound old, moving on... The server was nice despite my dysfunctional and inappropriate family giving her a run for her money. I would have LOVED to have the option of fries with my burger but since this is a wannabe Greek restaurant you get a moderately cooked potato and some dirty tasting salad with only balsamic dressing. All said and done it is cheap and enough to fill your belly. The veggie burger was good but nothing special and the pasta dishes did not look too appetizing. read more

The food is good here, and very surprisingly inexpensive. Their sandwiches usually come with a side of red potatoes and a salad and completely fills me up for honestly cheaper than what I would order at the McDonald's across the parking lot, and with better tasting and healthier food.
