I had a craving for beef dip here and tried with brie cheese and caramelized onion. This additional $3.5 has worth to make it more delicious easily. The service were great. I felt very informative, polite and friendly service at there. However, after our table ordered bottomless drink, there were many empty glasses but non of servers didn't take it. Three different servers and four times at a table. Finally the server offered bill to remove everything. That was sad. read more

Stopped by on a weekday for lunch as had a voucher for a free legendary platter. It has been quite a while since I was last in a Whitespot for any meal other than breakfast. I was seated right away and the meal came out pretty quick. The taste and presentation were quite good...much better than what I recall from years past. I actually enjoyed the 'slaw, the fries were great..nice and crispy and I quite enjoyed the burger (with lettuce and tomato). The service was also great as they came around several times to check and refill my coffee. It was a very positive food experience and happy to recommend this Whitespot. read more

This review isn't specifically for this location but for white spot in general. The service, no matter what location I go to, is always nice and professional. That has never been an issue. The problem is the food. Growing up here in the lower mainland White Spot had always been a fixture in the place you go to celebrate a birthday or family get together and was always something special. Pirate packs when you're a kid with the ice cream in the small styrofoam cup, your plastic spoon scraping along the edges, the gold chocolate coin, and for me, always the burger, fries, and a root beer. Later on it was zoo sticks, a burger, plain with just triple-O sauce, and a root beer. I can't recall when the burgers stopped being the best I've ever had but the quality of everything has tanked. You can pretty much say the same about anywhere you go to eat these days. But this is different. This isn't a rant about how things used to be and longing for the past. You can never go back. The last time I sat inside was a few months ago with a friend. I ordered the mini yorkie roast beef and a blueberry pie for dessert. The roast beef was lukewarm and was disappointing, practically no taste. The blueberry pie was a frozen pie shell pulled straight out of the box, a scoop of blueberry compote, and two small dollops of whipped cream. I attempted to cut the "pie crust" and it broke into two pieces so I just ate the blueberries. I should've sent it back but, honestly, I was just so disappointed. Like everywhere else, restaurants are cutting corners when they can and offering cheap, low grade, barely edible stuff and charging ridiculous prices. I expect that these days but to see how far a restaurant chain that played a part in our childhood and throughout the years has fallen, .......very sad. First time eating here since the pandemic started. Had the haddock and chips and it was delicious. Way better than the regular fish and chips. My hubby had the clubhouse and it's always consistent. Waitress was constantly giving us attitude. Lectured us on how we ordered due to dietary restrictions as a result of recent surgery "we're making an exception for you but never again". Order was wrong. Wrong drink, wrong bun (violating stated dietary restriction). They fixed both after we pointed it out but rather than remake the burger they just swapped out the incorrect part and brought it back - not adhering to Food Safe practices. Food tasted good once corrected. Service was incredibly slow. Had to argue with waitress to get a refill to which we were entitled. To pay the bill the waitress just slapped the machine on the table and told us to figure out how to pay. When we didn't process a gift card correctly on the first attempt the waitress got mad at us. read more

Celebrated a birthday here with a group of 11. White Spot food rarely disappoints and the food met our expectations. Service was not up to par however. Wait time between ordering and having food delivered to our table was unusually long. One menu item was prepared incorrectly and had to be remade. It was eventually brought to our table just as the rest of our party were finished eating. Our waiter did not return frequently to refill drinks or check on our group. I understand that these days there are staff shortages but this service was worse than an excuse for a lack of staff. With so many fancy brunch restaurants around, sometimes it's nice to go back to the classic spots. Simple yet comforting to eat They also offer bottomless smash browns! They're so good, it was low key the star of the meal. however, that doesn't mean the rest of the food wasn't good because it was just as delicious. This location is somewhat hidden from kingsway but you will see a big White spot sign a few meters before you reach it. I went here last night around 9:42pm with my wife as we were both hungry and needed a decent meal. Our server was named Michael and he was extremely helpful. We ordered New York Steak medium rare, Monty Mushroom Burger with endless fries; for starters we ordered Clam chowder bowl and Cauliflower Bites. Michael came to us steadily to refill our drinks and he asked about our food. Would highly recommend him as a server. He went way beyond for us and helped us in any way he could. The monty mushroom burger was decent. I cut the burger in half and opened it up to see the meat being well done which was great ! The new york steak that my wife got was also good ! It wasn't dry and had very good taste. The cauliflower reminded me of sweet tacos you get at a Mexican restaurant. My wife loved it. I will say that my endless fries weren't that great but I liked the burger so it did not matter to me. Would recommend this white spot for a quick bite or if you're super hungry! read more

But what WAS cool was that they have blueberry pies in the summer. I didn't know this! But for $2 more, you get a blueberry pie with your legendary burger ($11.99 for the burger meal + $2 for a blueberry pie). The pie's pretty big and comes with whipped cream. We couldn't finish it since our meal was already quite big (eggs benny + the Bacon Cheddar Bigger Burger), so we took it home to go. Tasted pretty good :) read more

This was my first time at a White Spot, which I was told was something of a BC institution. It's a small chain with a family-friendly comfort-food menu (burgers, pies, salads, desserts). On my visit the service was friendly and efficient and they did a decent pint of craft beer to go with my veggie burger and salad (yes, there are a few veggie options if you need them). I am a regular customer at various WS locations in Vancouver, but I want to leave a comment here as I had one of the worst experiences here. I was having dinner with my three young children here, and as they were still very young, they naturally behaved as such - freely talking loudly. The waiter grew impatient with them, and screamed at me over other customers - as in across tables - to tell them not to talk so loud. Last time I checked, WS was a "family restaurant". This does not tell me that it is so. The waiter either got mixed up with another restaurant, or he was just being rude. Either way, I am not returning to this location, but I will to others because they understand what customer service involves. read more

Thanksgiving turkey dinner is amazing at White Spot. Luckily, we arrived early enough to be seated right away. By 6PM, there was at least 30 waiting to be seated. The turkey was moist, the gravy rich and the mashed potatoes creamy. I'd rather have Thanksgiving here than at home. read more

Super friendly service. I live pretty far from this White Spot and I am glad I came here on Christmas Day for lunch. All proceed went to charity. As well the servers, hostess, cook and u name it all whitespot employee on that day are donating their time to support charity and this also includes gratuities and everything to charity. For the kids! Kingsway community! Yes they don't get paid for that day and I am glad to see how many people came to support this event. I ordered a bacon cheddar burger and it tasted awesome. For some reason the camomile tea tasted awesome too. Not to mention it was top notch service too. I don't mind waiting the 30 mins to 1 hour for a table. Will come back next year on Christmas Day. I was astonished over how classy and clean this location was! This is not the usual White Spot restaurants I remembered in the 80's, 90's and early 00's. Entering this one and seeing the waterfall was a welcome experience. I went in with a group of three Monday evening; it was busy and we waited about eight minutes to be seated. We were greeted and seated...server Iris was quick and attentive. Our food came beautifully presented and delicious. I ordered a basic burger with mushrooms, no bun. We ordered 1 fish and chips and a spinach dip to share. The food came in a reasonable time. Food was hot and tasty! During our meal, Yvonne was taking another from the table across from us and she notice our fries were finished. She came to us right after her order taking and offered us refill on fries. When we were asking for the check, we asked for 1 box the spinach dip. Yvonne was so thoughtful to bring us 1 box and 1 sauce container to separate the dip. We were WOWed! She is amazing at her job! There are only so many family friendly restaurant and here I was with a toddler as part of the lunch party. Of course, the toddler enjoyed a pirate pack. I ordered the legendary burger with sweet potato fries. Food arrived fairly quickly. The kitchen was very good with serving the child first. The rest of our food arrived shortly afterwards. My burger was good and the fries were pipping hot. Our server checked up on us once. But did not refill water or clear our plates during the rest of the meal. We had to ask him to pack our leftovers and to bring out the ice cream for the toddler as part of the pirate pack while paying for our bill. It was a busy lunch rush so service was okay. I am sure if we really needed more water, our server would have refilled it upon request. read more

Ah. White Spot. Every couple years I break down and go to White Spot. The pirate pack is genius. Who doesn't like a cardboard boat? Every restaurant should deliver kids meals in some cardboard vehicle. The last time I went to White Spot, the service was bad and the food worse so I decided not to return. But apparently, my memory is only about 2 years as I decided to take my kids there again. This time the service was great. The restaurant has hired on a whole whack of young people to wait the tables and they are much better than the previous wait staff. But unfortunately, the food is still just horrible. I had a chicken salad that was just drenched in dressing. The chicken was burnt and the kids' burgers were soggy with sauce. How hard is it to make a burger? They have begun serving the kids deserts in small plastic sauce containers so they can save on washing dishes, I suppose. The kids had to ask if there was a chocolate coin. I don't know how they remembered the chocolate coin from last time. I guess it was the highlight but this time it was mysteriously missing on both boats. I think they were going to try to save on that too. How can I be so disappointed when my expectations are already so low? Ah. White Spot. See you in 2 years when my memory fades again. read more

While I have found the food and the service to be good... it is completely unacceptable to have to call over 40 times to try to place an order for pick up. I've spoken to the manager and explained that they are losing business. I suggested getting another line, or a program that will put me on hold in queue. I've given them months to remedy this and nothing. It still takes about half an hour of repeat dialling to place an order. This place doesn't care about you or need your business. Quite frankly there are better burgers at restaurants that are willing to hire adequate staff to meet the needs of their clients. Absolute garbage. read more

As a mom, I have frequented many White Spots. This happens to be the one in my hood. We've come here on many a rainy day when I'm too exhausted to cook. One of the great things about this particular White Spot is that it has some amazing long term staff that ensure the quality and consistency of service. Servers come by enough to get refills, see if you need anything, etc. but they don't overdo it, which makes for a much better dining experience. They are also quite genuine. As for the food, I don't usually stray from the typical White Spot staples, as they don't do special menu items well. I once had a Korean BBQ burger there that was the messiest, strangest tasting burger I've ever tasted. Stick with the classic burgers, beef dip and fish and chips and you'll be just fine:) read more

The burgers came with an allergy sticker on each of them. They were both LOADED with MUSHROOMS. This could have been potentially deadly as I'm deathly allergic to mushrooms. The restaurant tried to make it up with a $20 coupon to their store (won't be using those) and new burgers and 4 boxes of fries (Manager brought it himself). It was by far the worst burger I have ever had from White Spot. The bun was dry the patty was beyond well done and there was next to no mayo and triple O sauce. Oh White Spot, you have been the quintessential restaurant for Vancouverites who have just needed comforting food for decades. From burgers to pot pie I believe this is the most western style chain that we have here. My girlfriend absolutely loves the pot pie and I concur, it's pretty great but that's really all I can say is "great" about this place or the franchise in general. Everything else is just "good", definitely nothing special or mind blowing but White Spot will continue to be a place that is mostly suitable for families and young kids due to the fame of their pirate packs haha. This location is decent, the service is alright and the food is just like every other White Spot with lots of parking. Out of towners seem to try this place because of the history and that's all and well but I wouldn't advise anyone to make this one of your top stop spots lol. read more

Family and I came for dinner, and as usual they are busy. This is normal and I am happy they are flourishing. We have come here for years, and the quality has been top notch; until today. Yes, they are busy, however I don't feel that food quality should be downgraded because of it. I can count 8 floor staff and a floor manager, plus 5 in the kitchen. The service should be reasonable and quick. Unfortunately not tonight. My daughter ordered Chicken Fingers, they arrived extra dark in colour. Usually it means either the oil is very old or the oil is not hot enough and the fingers were left in a long time to cook. This makes the outer crust hard as a rock. I picked one of the chicken pieces up, and was literally able to ring oil out of the meat. Hence the ladder of the possible problem exists. Next, to the fries that accompanied our main dish. Granted the steak was done correctly, but the fries, like the chicken were over cooked on low heat. Same as the chicken, I took a small handle full of fries, placed them in a napkin and squeezed. I result was a oil soaked napkin. We took these issues up with the manager, he just spent time defending, and explained they use garlic butter on the fries. We just simply wanted non-greasy fries. Judging by the new staff, new management, I can only assume they have a new franchisee. read more

This was my first time at White Spot. We came here on a Sunday night with a group of 8 people and it took us about 15-20 minutes to get seated. The building itself was clean and well furnished but a smaller than expected. Our waiter was very nice, helpful, and timely. I ordered The White Spot Club with cole slaw and baked potato poutine. It took us about another 15-20 minutes to get our food. The coleslaw was light and had sunflower seeds, which was different but refreshing. The poutine was topped like a baked potato; bacon, sour cream, and chives along with the regular gravy and cheese curds. Not bad. The White Spot Club came with turkey, bacon, mayo, chili sauce, lettuce and tomatoes. It was a bigger portion than I thought it was going to be and and surprisingly delicious. Good food, better service and always a comfortable atmosphere. This is easily one of the better eating establishments around Kingsway / Knight. The appetizers are always good here. I've tried them all. We missed the happy hour on appies which is a good deal all around. The "kids" took it easy on my wallet as all ordered burgers. Some got onion rings which looked real good. Another had poutine which is another option to fries. Every order looked great. Endless fries and bottomless drinks ensures you always leave filled up. The sneakiest of the bunch ordered a steak. It looked like it was done just right. Never seen anyone order a steak at White Spot, but it seems to be a good option. Could compare with any place. She must of liked it as she was able to finish it to my surprise as she doesn't look like a big eater. I was the only one to order a milkshake. White Spot makes the best shakes around. I love their kids menu here. They can get two sides if they want and they get a really good portion for their main dish. Plus from 2pm to 6pm some of their appetizers are for $6 only! I love their zoosticks and their flatbread already so at $6, I just had to order them! I love that their sides for the kids are bottomless so they could have more vegetables and fruits if they wanted too. We also ordered the Breakfast on the Bun (that's what I call it)...i forgot the correct name....It had a sunny side up on a burger and a large onion ring to top it off. Super filling of course, along with the bottomless fries! I like that kids can order a small milkshake instead of the regular pop, juice or milk if they wanted to...actually uses real fruit in the strawberry milkshake....not too big of a size so I don't have to worry about too much.....Blueberry milkshake could benefit with a little more berries though.... I crawled into White Spot on a Sunday morning with a hangover and some friends for some much needed greasy food. The restaurant was pretty quiet but our food and drinks did seem to take quite awhile to show up at our tables. White Spot has one of my favorite veggie burger patties and they gladly substituted it into the Legendary burger with some cheddar cheese, so so so good! There was about 8 tablespoons of triple o sauce on the burger but oh gawd it was still freakin' fantastic!
