Restaurant 's vibe is perfect for a relaxing night. Food I ordered : the avocado dip, this is my favorite. The dip is so fresh and has a hint of spice from the pico de gallo. Chips are so crispy but I wish I can get 2 extra chips to finish off the dip. I wanted to order the tuna temaki but they were all out for the night so I ordered the Prawn crunchy roll. The tuna temaki was $9 and the steak frites was $27. What's nice is that you get to have a sample of a variety of food to try. Went for lunch today when it opened at 11:30. We had a couple hours in there and it was enough time to eat and then we went into the mall to continue spending time together with our friends. Server was very friendly and efficient. Good was delicious. I had the green goddess salad which was very good. Others had the chicken sandwich, bolognese pasta and the poke bowl. Cactus Club location in Richmond Centre. It's next to the main entrance facing no. 3 road, although the restaurant has its own outside entrance and doesn't open into the mall. Been in this location for a few years, after moving down from its old location further up No. 3 road near Lansdowne. Good-sized restaurant with chic modern decor. The space is divided into the dining room to the right and lounge/bar to the left. This location is pretty busy on most days, and was so on the weekend night we went. We did make reservation ahead of time so didn't have to wait, but there were people waiting for tables. They have a good selection of cocktails and drinks. The food menu has a bit of everything, sort of the modern Canadian/American western food with some items from other cuisines like Mexican and Japanese. We got the cheddar bacon burger, crab cake frites, and sirloin steak. Food arrived reasonably quickly. The burger patty is the smashburger style that is a bit more crispy. Burger was decent was nice sauce, bun and veggies. Came with fries which were okay but nothing to write home about. The crab cakes were tasty and tasted like they had crab (rather than just flour), but the two pieces were pretty small. They did give a lot of fries (again, mediocre) and kale salad which was good. As for the sirloin, it's chewy as you expect from a sirloin even at medium. Came with asparagus and mash potatoes which were alright. Total was around $120 including tax and tips. I recently tried their kale salad and it was so fresh. Also ordered a crab cake for a starter and there is only a thin piece with loads of greens on top. I probably would choose truffle fries instead or something more hearty. We ordered the New York Cheesecake which was one of my faves. I liked sitting in the dining area since it wasn't too loud. Now, Cactus Club is a restaurant chain, but we enjoyed it so much that we ended up eating at another location in Downtown Vancouver too. This Richmond spot though, that's where it was really at - the service was top-notch and it was the perfect start to our trip. I went with the Tuna Stack and the Salmon Aburi Roll, and let me tell you, that was a perfect pairing. Our server gave us some awesome local recommendations. My first experience at a Cactus Club was here (I'm from the States haha) and it was so fun. I came here with one other friend and we got a booth in the corner, but I loved the spot. We came during HH so the lights were dim and it was lively but because of that, we really only tried their HH menu. All of their drinks are delicious, but if I had to recommend one, try their bellini (especially if you like sweet alcoholic drinks). I'm a big fan of Cactus Club but I had never visited their Richmond location which is right opposite the Richmond Brigehouse Station. It's so big!! They have a huge indoor patio, a bar seating, and dinner dine space. It was a sunny day so we sat in their indoor patio which was amazing because it was bright and cozy. We were there to have some light bites and drinks. We ordered their nachos and truffle fries for appies, both were amazing as usual. I LOVE their truffle parm fries, one of the best in Vancouver according to me! Their nachos were pretty good too, no jalapenos so not spicy but they have feta cheese on top which adds a good balance to their tangy salsa. For drinks I got their espresso martini and red wine sangria, got were really good. The service in this location was pretty fast and the staff were very welcoming. I came here to meet my friend F from Calgary along with B. The place was super packed and busy. Luckily F came early and got the table at 5pm and we had it till 7:30 pm. I ordered the blacken Cajun Chicken Burger. B got the Crispy Chicken Burger. My Cajun Chicken Burger was super delicious. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. I had my burger with fries. Oh my god, the fries were super delicious. They were freshly made. The atmosphere here was wonderful. I have to say this is definitely a better Cactus Club than the ones in Vancouver Downtown. F ordered spicy wings. I tried some of F's spicy wings and the wings were very flavorful. I also love the celery sticks and the sauce that went with it. They were very delicious. I had two back-to-back problems at this location. On the first visit approximately a month ago we arrived a little past 9pm and ordered the happy hour steak frites. Upon receiving our bill I pointed out that we did not receive the happy hour price. The waiter informed us that the happy hour time had changed from 9pm to 9:30pm, we didn't know, it was an honest mistake since it used to be 9pm. The waiter offered to go and speak to the Manager since it was an honest mistake and we had ordered maybe 20 minutes before happy hour. Also, I would have thought the waiter would have informed us it is not happy hour yet if we are ordering happy hour steaks 20 minutes before happy hour. The waiter returned and told us the Manager refused to adjust the price. We came back a week later and was told there was a few minute wait to be seated. We moved off to the side where another couple had already been waiting for their table, but as soon as we moved over their table was ready and they left. The hostess immediately said to us "can you wait outside", rather rudely. She never asked the other couple to wait outside, but she asked us.... I am not sure why, discrimination much? We did go outside and never returned, deciding to spend our hard earned money elsewhere. read more

Right off the bat, I really don't like that they give you the time limit for the table when you arrive. It seems, to me, to be aggressive and given they quoted us an hour and fourty-five minutes it was really unnecessary. It's kind of odd to me to be that off putting in your very first interaction. That being said, I had the spaghetti Portofino which was outstanding. I've never had that kind of pasta before with the prawns and corn included along with a great sauce. The location is huge. much larger than it looks like from the outside and I could tell they would be able to section off parts of the restaurant if there was a large party as to not disturb anyone else. Happy hour at Cactus Club is another level of happiness. We ordered the mini crispy chicken sandwich duo ($10), zen roll ($13), yam fries ($7), truffle fries ($7), and tequila seltzer ($6.25). The food was lovely, but the zen roll deserves my undivided attention. It is 100% plant-based and the yuzu tamari adds depth to the sushi in combination with the avocado, cucumber, mango, and asparagus. Absolutely delicious. It was my friend's birthday which Cactus Club knew about from my reservation. There was a sweet birthday card at our table when we arrived. Then they presented my friend' with a crème brûlée with Happy Birthday written in chocolate dust on the dessert plate. Excellent service. Food is delicious and fairly priced. read more

I have been to Cactus Club multiple times with my gf and we frequently order takeout from here. The food and service is generally good (esp their happy hour specials which start at 9:30pm); however, on a recent trip we were disappointed to find a piece of sharp plastic ceramic in the Thai Green curry dish my gf ordered. Luckily my gf was not seriously injured as you can easily chip a tooth or cut your mouth if you unknowingly bite into something like that. To the restaurant's credit, they were apologetic when we raised the issue to the manager. The manager (believe her name was Asha?) helped us fill an incident report and comped us our meal. I have given the restaurant 3 stars for now and hope that their food quality control measures are improved in the future and something like this is investigated and never happens again. Overall, the food, service and ambiance of this restaurant is good. The staff is generally friendly and the location is spacious. We do hope our experience is a one-off experience and no one else has to find foreign objects in their food. We do appreciate the restaurant manager for properly handling the matter and for this reason, we will give the restaurant another chance. read more

Been to this Cactus Club in Richmond Centre a couple times now. I made reservations for 8:30pm online in the lounge. Upon arrival, the host in the front told us to wait inside as they were just clearing up a table and she told us that we could only have the table for 2 hours and they would "need it back" at 10:30pm. Kind of rude sounding but that's ok since it seems like it's been happening quite often. We did end up staying until 11pm due to the fact that we ordered a dessert before the waitress told us we had to leave because they have a group waiting when there were many other tables available. Upon sitting we ordered our drinks and food pretty quickly, and just as quickly everything was served to our table at a timely manner. The waitress didn't give us water until we asked for it but maybe it's because we already ordered drinks. Food wise it's always the same delicious food that is served at other cactus clubs! I always get their hey hibiscus as a non-alcoholic option, the Bellini as their alcoholic option, truffle fries, salt & pepper chicken wings and this time I did try their prawn ravioli which was very creamy and very good! I really enjoyed the basil on top of the prawns. We also got their chocolate lava cake for dessert and it's very very rich. The vanilla ice cream paired nicely with it but I do wish the chocolate was sweeter! But it is made with dark chocolate. Overall it's a cactus club experience! Yes, I won't hesitate to recommend this restaurant. From the first time I had their Spaghetti Portofino, enjoyed the meal and went back a second time. Their customer service was great, place was clean. The only thing I didn't like was the price of Coke which was $4.50 plus GST and PST. We asked to be seated at a booth but were told there would be over an hour wait for one, but could be seated at the bar right away. They have definitely changed up the menu since the last time I was here. They now have a lot more vegetarian, vegan and seafood options! I was definitely happy to see the range in choices. I ended up ordering the Thai green curry bowl with prawns and a non-alcoholic Hey Hibiscus drink. My friend got the butternut squash ravioli. My meal was subtle in flavor but in a pleasant way.
