I went here the other night for a team dinner. The restaurant is located right on the water so it has beautiful views and was quaint with wood floors. They had a lot of beers on tap but I went for a sweet cider and it was delicious. For dinner I ordered the Cajun chicken which came with a side of mashed potatoes and roasted kale. The chicken was tender and came with a Cajun butter that added flavor and moisture. The mashed potatoes were especially tasty and the roasted kale was crisp, yet a little oil logged. Great place, great atmosphere, lovely views! The service was really nice. I had the raspberry Moscow mule (so refreshing and tasty!), queso dip and pork carnitas tacos. Everything was delicious! We still had some queso dip left so I requested some more chips but unfortunately I wasn't warned that it was extra $. OMG so loud downstairs ... it's terrible for conversations at a party. My strawberry lemonade with the basil was interesting. Not sure that I'd have it again. Bartenders are very nice though! I saw chips with guacamole, chicken sliders, two veggie platters and tacos for food. They looked okay. I'd eaten beforehand at Tre Viet down the street so wasn't really there for dinner. The location of this CRAFT Beer Market cannot be beat. No matter where you are seated in the restaurant, you have a world-class view of English Bay. My group was sat on the "patio" which is conveniently placed on the second floor of the building with large open air windows overlooking the beach, and bay. One of the nicest things about the patio is that it has a roof, so it's possible to enjoy the fresh air without getting a sunburn. Our server was polite, cheery and returned to our table at great pace. She made recommendations to help us sort through the massive beer list, and also understood the menu well enough to comment on all of the food items available. The food itself has improved a lot from what I previously remember being available at CRAFT in Olympic Village. The Tuna Poke was fresh and crisp-tasting and the beers were ice cold and served quickly. I'd recommend this place as a post-beach spot with friends, or also to kickstart a night on the town. What a delicious surprise! We were in town for a week and tried our best to stay out of the rain, but couldn't keep too far away from the bay. A perfect way to enjoy the view, but keep dry was by going in to CRAFT! We went not only once, but twice! Everything was delicious and our server was so incredible. She didn't even judge us when we were sat in her section two days in a row. While I did not manage to snag photos of all drinks and food we tried -- take my word for it -- everything was delicious. The poke was really good, it was a big portion, almost couldn't finish it all. The only thing is, it had a bit too much rice, but the flavors were good which made up for it. The view from the patio was stunning, so try to grab a seat there if you can. One thing worth mentioning is their excellent allergy protocol. They assured me that there were no peanuts in the kitchen, which was a relief! The only downside was the price. One drink and one entree each, the bill came close to $100 after tax and tip. Wow! Not sure what the bad reviews are all about....we went last evening and had the most amazing time on their patio! We put ourselves on their waitlist and we're hanging out on the beach. Missed going when our table was ready. Went after 30 minutes and they they graciously put us at the top of the waitlist and got us seated right away at the best table with a view of the beach! Our waitress was super sweet, brought out beer samples to try and kept refilling the kids' ginger beer. Felt like we were on a beach vacation. We started with a sangria and a wheat ale. Sangria was delicious and strong. Loved it. We also got the dynamite cauliflower, parmesan fries and the kale Margherita pizza. Next round of drinks was the coconut mojito and a delicious pilsner. I have now been to Craft on Beach twice, once on the patio once at the bar. I was really excited for this place to open, for obvious reasons -- craft beer, duh. Has it lived up to the hype? Service 3/5 -- They do a pretty good job here. It seems to be a positive environment to work in, and I think that helps to bolster team mentality (I say this based off of observation as I sit at the bar.) There does seem to be a certain lack of expertise, or confidence in the servers and bartenders I've met, and wait times for service can be a little excessive, even when they aren't that busy. An example would be that the bartender asked me if I'd like another beer a few moments after I finished, but I was nursing the bottom of the glass for quite some time. It was kinda busy--not really. I won't dock excess points for that, but efficiency is something they'll have to work on with service staff. Waiting to pay was excessive. I sat with empty beer and cafeteria tray in front of me for quite some time -- not how I'd normally want to spend my rare free time. On the first visit it was the same thing. What the heck?! Waited a good twenty minutes for the bill. Atmosphere 5/5 -- I worked in the building when it was still Boathouse, and I have to say what Craft did with the space is quite awesome, and amazing. The wood and steel industrial interior really lends to the whole warehouse vibe. The patio is also awesome, but I'll be avoiding it as I burn like a lobster. Washrooms are a good place to take a sploosh-kaboom; comfortable, clean, and dark enough to make me look hot in a mirror. Just kidding, I always look hot. #modesty Cleanliness 5/5 -- Pretty rare perfect rating on cleanliness here. They must have good support here because even the hard to reach spots on the bar didn't have rings from old glassware. Food 3/5 -- Plant based life. Not a lot of options. I got the Impossible Burger with half fries half salad. Glad that the portions aren't huge, because I was kinda anticipating the regular overindulgent Vancouver hamburger that's 1500 calories. It was actually a respectable size though! That's pretty exciting! The price however is through the roof. NINETEEN DOLLARS for the burger. I understand that prices have gone up everywhere, but CRAFT was never about the food, and it has always had foodporn prices. Aside from the portion size and price the food was alright, but not worth breaking the bank for. Overall 4/5 -- This can all be broken broken into one basic thing that most of us already know. Stumbled in here during one of my weekend strolls of the sea wall, and haven't wanted to leave since. Literally. Drink specials are great, $6 mimosas, sure. The food is reasonably priced, and large portions. But the team brings it all up a million notches. Morgan, Calli (sp?), Elinet (sp?) Justice, Ameron, Andrea, Sarah and Sam come to mind. I come here more than I would like to admit. They have an amazing selection of beers and it's great for groups or if you want to sit alone at the bar (yes quite a few people come alone here). On saturdays they have a DJ that comes and it can get pretty loud but the rest of the week is a great place to come for a date or hang out with your friends. I am not a huge fan of their food, smaller portions and very salty ( everything I have tried so far at least). I would get their nachos though, MASSIVE and very tasty. read more

This is Beer having for people like me that love to enjoy a good brew on a sunny day. They have so many options that it's hard to choose. Many good European beers as well as the good locals. I recommend getting flights to sample each one of their good beers, their flight menu rotates as well. The food is pretty decent, nothing exceptional but still good, I mostly come here for beer. I recommend the AC burger with beer salt fries, I did try the chicken sliders but they weren't my favorite. I love the vibe of this place. I was in the area for a walk with a friend and then we stopped by for dinner, just missed the happy hour but it's fine. We had deep fried pickles, arugula margarita pizza and a cheddar cheese burger. I enjoyed the pickles and pizza but I find the food too salty over all (hence the 3 star). They pre-cut the burger for us to share so I appreciate that. If you're looking for a "fruity" beer without too much hop summer wheat beer is great. I don't like beer that are too hoppy (don't judge!). The atmosphere wasn't too quiet that you feel awkward to speak bad it wasn't too loud that you had to yell over your food. This was my first time visiting this location, and honestly have no complaints about the experience and food and drinks. I am writing this review strictly to say how amazing Riley, your night manager is! I've worked in the industry for 10+ years now and don't normally see FOH management being this engaging with tables and hardworking around the whole restaurant, all with a smile on her face! I got a drink with a friend a few weeks back and it was a good experience. We sat outside upstairs on the patio and it was warm with the heaters and even though it's winter it was quite comfortable. We were there for happy hour and had a few small things that were fine. I appreciated Granville winter ale as I had forgotten about it. Happy hour discounts made some things more affordable. I guess it's the new reality now that even a classic burger is almost 20. Not an inexpensive place. Serving staff was attentive and though we did roll our eyes a little at the bubbliness of the hostess, why not have some positive energy these days. Certainly better than the reverse. read more

But, I digress, the reason for this review is not because of all these great things in your favour ... this review is about fantastic service experienced. I was ever so lucky to have Jaclyn as my server this fine evening. Immediately after seating, I somehow tossed my glasses so that they fell behind the banquet in your upstairs patio section. My quick survey of the situation made me initially think that they were lost at least until your first renovation.  But this is where Jaclyn's adeptness quickly showed its prowess. She orchestrated a cooperative solution between our table and our neighbours without ever breaking a single COVID protocol and within minutes [after some Circle de Soleil manoeuvring on the part of my table neighbour that involved an umbrella - hard actually to explain really] only to have my glasses returned to me... Voilà .. like magic. If that wasn't enough, she proceeded to recommend and offer great samples of your delicious brews, all the while with the warmest of smiles, quick wit and the most friendly and courteous service all through our visit.  She is most golden!
