I cannot say enough wonderful things about Becky Maria at Quest Diagnostics. She truly deserves recognition for the exceptional care she provides. For years, I have dreaded getting blood drawn because my veins were damaged after repeated unsuccessful attempts by someone in the past. Ever since then, finding a vein has been extremely difficult. My previous visit, I was stuck five times before enough blood could be collected. On another visit, I was poked three times. Needless to say, I was incredibly anxious about having to come back again for blood work. Then I met Becky Maria, and the entire experience changed. She immediately took the time to look at my arms and listen to my concerns. I mentioned that people usually have to use a smaller needle, and before I even finished, she said, "That was my suggestion." Right away, I knew I was in good hands. She located a vein simply by feeling my arm--not by looking for one. She explained that they always use touch to find the best vein instead of relying only on what they can see. Amazingly, she found a vein that had apparently never been used before, one I didn't even know existed. The needle stick was completely painless. I honestly didn't even feel it. The blood flowed perfectly without having to reposition my arm or struggle to keep the blood flowing like during my previous visits. Even more incredible, this is the first time I have had absolutely no bruising afterward. Becky was patient, gentle, compassionate, and incredibly skilled. She completely changed an experience that had caused me years of anxiety into one that was calm and painless. Please do everything you can to keep Becky Maria at this location. Professionals like her are rare, and she makes an enormous difference for patients who are fearful of blood draws. Because of her, I no longer dread coming in for my lab work. I remember coming here when I first moved to Texas and this is the only place I come to get my bloodwork done. The ladies are so welcoming and treat me like a person and not a number. The worst place ever I came 4:10 PM they close at 5 ,waited for 30 minutes the lady came and told me I can't take you with no appointment even if there is the option of walking patients!!! I told her that I'm in pain and the doctor told me to do it as soon as possible to see the inflammation I have and solve it but even that she told me don't start to cry, smiling like non-sympathized and there is no reason to don't take me. I've been to this location before but this time it was the worse experience of all. My youngest had just turned 11 yrs old, and she needed to have blood drawn. The employee was in a very bad mood. She didn't acknowledge us and had a terrible demeanor. She didn't treat my girl kindly, knowing she was young and nervous because she was going to be poked with a needle. Overall, it was a horrible experience. On top of it all, they charged us $500+ dollars and didn't consider any type of discount. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Very unprofessional. I'm honestly not sure why the last person gave this place one star. I waited no longer than 10 minutes, the check in was extremely fast, and simple as well. The workers greeted me and were friendly. I don't remember the name of the young woman who attended me, but she was lovely! She was extremely gentle yet quick when drawing my blood. At first i was nervous because some nurses/assistants are so rough to the point where it hurts pretty bad when they poke you. The pain was barely noticeable and she drew 3 tubes of blood in less than 5 minutes. I thought it was going to be longer, but i was in and out within 15 minutes. Needless to say i'm very satisfied and will be coming back. If you're reading this review and you decide to stop by, please be patient if they're understaffed. This place is a joke. They walk around like no one's there. They have no communication with the patients at all ,not even when you walk in do they greet you in any form or fashion whenever you ask a question they are so rude they don't even have any compassion. I would never recommend this location to anyone read more

The lady that drew my blood was very hostile. I informed her that normally one cannot draw blood from my left arm because the veins are too small. It is best that she withdraw it from my right arm instead. She informed me that the left side was most convenient for her because it was closer to her station and she knew what she was looking for. I told her the right arm is best and is the side traditionally used by all professionals. I also told her it was best to withdraw from my right side because I did not want her to have to stick me twice because I am afraid of needles. In response, she chose the largest needle she could find and proceeded to try to draw blood from my left arm. Since she was unsuccessful, she kept inserting and reinserting the needle several times until I said "Oh my God, when are you going to stop". She withdrew the needle and asked if I had drank water. I said yes, she said I must not have drank enough water. At no time did she apologize for her recklessness, rudeness and unprofessionalism. She then tried my right arm just like I told her at the inset and was successful. I did not appreciate being treated as less than an animal. My left arm is extremely bruised from her abuse. Regardless of where I go, I expect to be treated with humanity and professionalism. In this instance, my voice was ignored and my pain was dismissed. Rather than accepting responsibility for her reckless behavior and actions, she placed the blame on me for "not drinking enough water". I believe humanity and professionalism is included in the price the consumer pays and your company failed to meet that standard. Therefore I would NOT recommend this location. read more

I have never had an issue with this location been coming here the 6yrs I have lived in Texas but today was the icing on the cake walked in and was registering and one of the workers gonna come out and ask if we had an appointment which this is new to me bc it never mattered before she was rude when telling us this so I walked out to the car and made an appointment walked back in and re-registered she acted like she was pissed came out and said come on sir talking to my minor son never once showed us if the name was correct on the little stickers that goes on the vials after she drew the blood and gave him a cup and said I need you to pee in the cup, and then you're free to go Her attitude was just awful read more

Went into this location after making an appointment. Was called into the room after waiting 15 minutes. As I headed to the room a man sitting down stood up and blocked me from entering. He said he needed to go in and get his blood drawn a second time. I said ok and sat back down. When he came out he tried talking to me and I said I was in a rush so that I could get back to work. I went into the room to have my blood taken and he preceded to stand outside of the room listening to my conversation and as I left he stood to the side of the exit door staring me down. The staff needs to take control of their waiting room and not allow clients to harass others or block them from entering the rooms when called. read more

2 ladies working there are very rude. Been here multiple times. They are very short and curt with all their customers. If we ask a question, they will quickly cut you off with their unnecessary justifications. They have zero empathy for people who are most likely coming there for underlying medical problems. They made me wait 10 minutes before calling me for my appointment which they harp about...while they are watching videos and talking amongst themselves. These ladies obviously have a chip on their shoulders. Do better Quest. read more

I had the best attention and care today getting my (multiple vials) of blood drawn. I love that I can just drop in and see if you have availability - most times you do or tell me when the best time to come back. My HMO requires me to use Quest. No Problem. Two thumbs up. read more

I was at the Quest Diagnostics location at Arapaho rd (inside the Tom Thumb) in Plano Texas today evening about closing time. My mother in law who is 85 needed some blood work. I am so grateful that Alice Bello was the phlebotomist on duty. She was truly an angel to my mother in law and me! She was patient, kind and so compassionate! She had to use two kind of cannulas to draw blood because my mother in law is so frail and was also dehydrated. Alice put her at ease and was so kind and gentle. We are so grateful for her help and kindness! No language barrier exists when the phlebotomist speaks the language of love. Thank you Alice!! read more

This location is inside of Tom Thumb. It's not terrible and it's not great. The phlebotomist were nice and courteous! However the "process" is a little slow. For example, the phlebotomist have to take phone calls, which I think should be handled by a receptionist. The wait time was not too bad. Also, the office is small. This location is not as bad as its ratings BUT it's not perfect either. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR PAPERWORK BEFORE you go in or it will be mass confusion! Insist that you doctor give you paperwork to take in there! 3/5 and room for improvement. read more

This location use to be good. I get blood drawn every few weeks and this location has definitely gotten worse lately. Staff is incredibly slow. I walked in today and there are 4 people waiting and one of the techs said she was leaving early for her break. As a healthcare provider myself I would never treat patients that way. Unfortunately with my insurance I have no choice but use quest. I hope the tech today puts in a clean pair of gloves without me having to ask her to. That was last months experience... read more

Upon arrival, the person I dealt with was very rude, mumbling, and not answering any of my questions. Additionally they FAILED TO PERFORM ONE OF THE BLOOD TESTS which means I have to go back and get my blood drawn again. Do NOT go to this location. read more

When I arrived there were only two people ahead of me. My wait time was about 20 to 25 minutes. The tech Laurie she was great very sweet gentle and got my blood on the first try. Actually that was pretty amazing for me. I would come back here again. read more

The "phlebotomist" could not draw my blood from either arm, and I am a young, healthy person. She poked me several times and did not respond to obvious expressions of pain. She ignored my input about which veins to use and which to avoid. When she could not get blood, she accused me of being dehydrated. (I drink over a gallon of water most days and am most definitely not unusually dehydrated). She did not apologize once for the multiple unsuccessful sticks (and jostles while still in the veins) and yelled at me when I asked for another phlebotomist. There was no way I was going to let her draw blood from my dorsal hand after all that. Honestly the worst experience I've ever had in a healthcare setting, and I was in tears when it was over from the physical pain and the feeling of being completely unsafe and disrespected in this person's hands. I fear for the safety of this woman's future patients, and I strongly feel she needs to find another profession given her horrible attitude and lack of basic patient care skills. read more

I have to do annual blood work for our medical insurance company, and I usually go up the street from my house in Plano, but since I'm headed to my grandparent who live in Garland, I decided to get it done in their area, wrong answer.. Receptionist just says sign in, have a seat....well I had a seat for 45 min til my name was called, proceeded to the back where I see why it is taking so long...mind you there is only 2 techs in the office on a Friday, girlfriend is chilling listening to music and on her cell phone while we(clients) have other ish to do with our day waiting patiently in the waiting area while she chills and gets paid for making us wait!!! read more

Don't even THINK about going to Quest without the paper work from your doctor in your hand! I made that mistake the first time I went to a Quest location. They won't see you. They won't try to get it. When I got to my on line appointment at 8:45, they were three people on their phones screaming at their Doctor's office to fax over orders. Why can't they call and get it before you get there? You sign in on a HIPAA violating clipboard and wait. The staff is pretty friendly and professional, but Quest doesn't care. read more
