I don't think Harwood Arms was prepared for how many people were going to show up- it seemed completely disorganized, chaotic, and just ridiculous. We were sitting down at one of the tables outside in the alley area and the walkway was clear- at first. After the game had actually started, I guess they just let everyone in and the entire walkway was PACKED with people to the point that our once clear view of the TV, was gone in an instant. As the night progressed, obviously a girl has to pee, so as I was walking into the actual restaurant/ pub to use the bathroom and I guess the "bouncer" stuck his arm between me and the door and dismissively said I couldn't go in. Excuse me? After telling him I literally have a table outside, he yanks at his collar and speaks into his little walkie talkie asking if there's a table of 4 outside under my name. Sorry, I didn't know I was watching the Mexico game at the freakin White House surrounded by Secret Agents. Give me a break. So when he magically confirms I have a table (because I do), he lifts up his arm and gives me the ALL CLEAR! It's actually funny looking back at it. But give me a break. When going back outside to sit at my table, the same bouncer/ Secret Agent/ FBI dude gives attitude to my boyfriend and myself for the commotion caused earlier. The actual police officer next to him told us it's ok and to just have a good time. The only nice thing someone said to us and he doesn't even work at Harwood Arms lol. To management, if you do not want people "off the street" to go in and out of your pub or inside to use your bathrooms, then I don't know- maybe come up with a wristband method so your paying customers can smoothly go in and out to use your bathrooms? Just a thought. OR just don't be unwelcoming to people that are actively spending money at your pub. Harwood Arms was NOT prepared at all for the high velocity of people coming in to watch the FIFA games. Quite frankly, it was a MESS. I did visit Bar W a few days after that and had a MUCH BETTER experience-- go there instead.

The curry chicken is an absolute must-order, and the cheese curds are some of the best you'll find anywhere. Everything is consistently delicious, whether you're stopping in for dinner or just grabbing a bite with friends. The management has created something really special here. They've built a place where regulars and first-time visitors alike feel genuinely welcome, and that kind of atmosphere doesn't happen by accident. A special thank you to Stephanie, Rey, Tony, and Eddie. They're exceptional bartenders who always make everyone feel at home. They remember faces, take the time to chat, and somehow make every visit feel like catching up with old friends. Their hospitality is a huge part of what makes Cannon's such a great place. It was one of the best chowders I have ever had. It had everything wonderful in it. Potatoes, carrots minced, cod chunks, shrimp chunks, salmon chunks, and other vegetables. Although they had misters on over the patio tables; it was too hot (100F+) to sit on those outdoor tables. Plenty of small outdoor tables unoccupied at 6:30 pm. No host/hostess was present but a couple of waitresses came to start us with drinks. Draft and other beer, wine and alcohol choices were available. Guinness of course. All 3 of us ordered the fish (cod) and chips plate for our dinners. The 2 piece plate $14, the 3 piece plate $17. The large plank fries ( chips) were great. They were cooked crisp and served hot. Excellent, beer-battered and generous-sized, chunky cod pieces. Best fish n chips ever! I didn't check out the restroom. Trivia night was being played. The microphone was difficult to discern. Plenty of ambient noise from the tables and bar stools made it practically impossible to hear the conversations at our small and intimate table. Most recently, we went to The Skellig the night after Halloween. It also happened to be Game 7 of the World Series where the Blue Jays tragically lost, but the game was still a high value product and Skellig had it playing on a huge projector screen that made it easy for everyone to enjoy. Inside it feels like your classic pub, but after hours it becomes a pretty traditional bar as people pack in and have a great time. All their drafts and specialty drinks are listed on their chalkboard wall and the bar sits perfectly in the middle with bartenders on all four sides which is perfect for a busy night out especially if it is Halloween, Game 7, or a night of great college football. The DJ was playing heaters all night with all the crowd favorites you want and it was crowded but not too extreme. One of my favorite features of The Skellig is the genuine Guinness on a nitrogen tap, poured the true Guinness way which creates a refreshing beverage you can split the G with or just chug. We didn't know it was a trivia night. So it was very very loud. It was impossible to have a conversation.
