Cannot believe that I have not given this place a review. I mean, yes, I did give its former place iTea a review, but not with the new store. This place feels like home because I know most of them by name. I've been here so much that I even got them to make my own drink that's not on the menu. Yes, it's called "Lon's Special." Don't believe me? See my photos for proof. What's Lon's Special? Well, I can't tell you. You just have to order and try it yourself. :P I used to alternate between a few drinks: roasted oolong milk tea (default for me), honey brown rice milk tea (less caffeine), and iced lemon (a fruit tea). Now I just get Lon's Special most of the time. I mean where else could I get that? :D Not only are the drinks here great, the snacks are probably way underrated and overshadowed by their drinks. The basil popcorn chicken (thigh) is highly addictive. The curly fries are on point. My wife loves their chicken wings. QTea used to be I-Tea. I guess I haven't been back in a while! Well we were in the area and decided to pick up some boba and decided to try them out again. The service was nice and quick. Payment was easy enough. In short, I think I may have just gotten the wrong drink or I remembered this place being better. I'll have to come back to try out a standard drink with boba to judge appropriately. I'm sure if I had my drink and I wasn't pleased they would redo my drink but we took it to go and I didn't drink it until after we left. QTea is located in a big plaza with plenty of parking. It was a bit hard to find at first, as it is kind of tucked away. The exterior is simple, while the interior is cute with the penguin theme, but narrow and not well lit (in the evening). I ordered the jasmine milk tea with boba. After ordering, it took awhile to get my drink, even for 1 drink. The milk tea was alright / decent - it was on the creamier side with a subtle tea taste, while the boba was on the chewier / soft side. With so many boba and tea shops around the area, QTea stands out for many reasons. Great drinks AND great snacks? That's rare. I've tried most of their hot snacks but their popcorn chicken is amazing. They keep their prices down. Menu is posted everywhere, no funny business. Most of their drinks include boba and no substitution charge. Prices have remained the same for a long time. The drinks actually taste like what is advertised. You can taste the tea in every sip. They do a fabulous job customizing drinks and are generous with toppings. I've never had an issue. Really calm and clean ambience with family games and nice AC. There is a cashier with a nice bright smile who is always taking orders and I watch her interact with each customer in the sweetest way. Not sure her name, but she has the best energy. QTea is one of my favorite spots in the Tri-Valley. There's just something to be said about a family-run place. You know they take a lot of pride in what they serve and their overall service and customer satisfaction. My favorite is the lychee slush with pearl, and each of my family members has their own favorite too. You have to try their chicken nuggets, too. So delish! My most recent experience was about a week ago. I was shopping nearby and had a craving for my favorite drink. There are so many ways to order, but by far the easiest is to text them! When I texted my order, I received a response with clarifying questions almost immediately. My order was ready in basically 5 minutes. So before I start my review on the amazing food/drinks. Let me first talk about how amazing the service here is. Being in Dublin is usually very safe, but being a bart stop makes it hard to predict who will randomly pop into our city. There was a very creepy (most likely drugged up) man that was loitering around the shopping area. He saw me approach the Boba shop and started to inch his way closer to me. I rushed into the shop seeing as how he kept eyeing me too. (always follow your instincts gurls) The lovely woman who was working the front was the sweetest woman I have ever talked to. She helped me navigate what I wanted to order, gave perfect suggestions to sweetness and ice.. and overall made me feel like a valued customer from just our short interaction. My husband and child were in the car waiting for me, but I wasn't able to reach my husband (his phone died) to let him know I was uncomfortable leaving the shop alone. So I had asked the lovely woman if she wouldn't mind walking with me to my car since there was a man outside who scared me. She immediately without hesitation took my order in her hand and started to walk me out. There was another woman working in the shop, younger and stoic. She was, according to the lovely first woman, stronger than her. So the younger woman ended up walking me out. She was incredibly heroic to say the least. Luckily my husband got out of the car when he saw me with her and helped walk me back the rest of the way. The creeper showed himself again only after we were back in our car... but I am forever thankful to the young heroic woman and the lovely woman who worked here for not only their service within the shop, but their actions afterwards to make sure I felt safe. In this day and age, that kind of support is so important especially for other women. This shop went above and beyond in my opinion. So if you want to support a business that cares for their customers, this is the place for you! Now, onto my food and drink review: The Egg puffs/egg waffles were very yummy!! Freshly made to order and was a great fix for my craving. The onigiri were top notch too. You can't really get these kind of onigiri anywhere close to Dublin.. so that was such a nice surprise to see available for purchase. I got two drinks. I got Jasmine Green Milk Tea with boba (50% sweetness and 30% ice as suggested) and it was PERFECT!! She suggested the perfect amount for my very picky tastebuds. (The lovely woman really KNOWS her stuff) I also ordered a Strawberry Iced Milk. My son hasn't tried it yet but I am sure it's going to be just as amazing as all the other items we've tried. Second time coming here but it's been awhile since the first time so I decided to come again with my little brother. I didn't know that it closed at 8pm, but the door was open so we walked in around 8:10pm. The man at the register didn't even mention that they were supposed to be closed already despite their store hours saying so, which was really nice. He had his mask on and there was a plastic covering plus hand sanitizer was provided so it was nice that there was protection against COVID. We ordered the passionfruit tea with lychee jelly (80% sweetness, 30% ice) and the oolong milk tea with boba (100% sweetness, 30% ice). There was only one size though. They both tasted very delicious and were made quickly by the one man working. I appreciated the willingness of the employee to serve us after they closed, but I thought it was a bit pricey since it was nearly $13 for two drinks. Day 5 bonus! Dropped by QTea on my 7 Days of Boba week. Located in kind of a more obscure shopping centers that is a bit further out from all of the other busier spots not too far away, QTea is wedged Happy Lamb Hot Pot and Tandoori Pizza. If you see Mayflower, you're on the wrong side of the shopping center. It's not a very large shop, but can accommodate roughly 3-4 people standing inside with social distancing respected. Staff is pretty friendly, and there definitely seems to be some locals that frequent here as I saw one of the staff just conversing with the customer casually, and vice versa. Pricing wise, also fair. Got the classic milk tea w/boba for under $5. Be aware they don't accept card for anything under $10 though, so be prepared to have cash on you if you plan to only get a single drink. Just fyi, they only have one size for cups, so no small or large options here. It was a bit dark inside though, as the sky was already getting dark early, from the outside it was kind of hard to tell if the place was open even when I was sitting outside in my car looking in. They have lights inside, but probably didn't want to turn them on (or already turned off) by the time I got there. Could have used some more lighting, but minor aesthetics issue. Lots of cute designs though, as penguins are definitely their thing here. Let's get to the drink now. The milk tea here is good. Not too sweet, and the tea flavor was well balanced. Good. Boba was also nice. Nice QQ texture, and definitely good for those who like chewier boba. Final verdict: The staff is friendly. Pricing wise is also fair. Was a bit dark inside though, especially when outside gets dark so early, could've used just a bit more light even though I understand they were closing in a couple hours when I was there. Have cash on you if your order is under $10. Drinks tasted good, and boba was pleasant. Might take a bit to find, but definitely a good boba spot for an area that's packed full of them in the surrounding shopping centers. P.S. The network here is terrible for any of the Gs, so if you're trying to check in while in this shopping center, you may not have any luck. The tea quality is A1 and the prices are reasonable and affordable (two drinks are about 11.58 before tip). The staff is very sweet and kind as well. You can choose between white and dark meat (I prefer white) and varying levels of spiciness. I'd recommend getting the spiciest, I barely feel any heat and it's much more flavorful. Milk tea there is 4/5, the bobas are smaller than average but they're generous when they add them to your drink. I love that they do text orders !! I texted my order (taro milk tea and medium spicy popcorn chicken) Saturday night and they responded within 2 minutes asking what sweetness and ice level for the boba and if I wanted white (breast) or dark (thigh) meat for the chicken since I left that info off the order. They also asked for when I'd like to pick it up by, I said in 15 mins. They even texted me to let me know the order was ready. The cashier was very friendly and super attentive. I was waiting outside the door since there was a customer being helped and she waved me inside since he was leaving. I paid and they had lots of clean pens to use and she also pointed to the hand sanitizer dispenser to use after. She noticed it dispensed too much and quickly fixed it. They gave a lot of popcorn chicken and tasted really good since it was hot and fresh. The taro milk tea was pretty decent, not a lot of tea flavor which is how I prefer my milk tea but could have used a stronger taro flavor. Boba was a good consistency.
