We stopped by Bober Tea on a weekday evening (after 8 pm), and the first impression was instant. Such a cute, aesthetic little café. Ordering through the kiosk was simple, and we settled in, chatting and taking photos with the fun décor while waiting for our drinks. As other customers came and went with their orders, I started wondering why ours was taking so long. It finally hit me, I had placed the order... but completely forgot to pay, so it never went through. With a hard stop coming up, I checked in at the counter, half-panicked and fully embarrassed. Thankfully, the gentleman behind the counter handled it with so much grace. He quickly took our order on the spot, had our drinks ready in record time, and even offered complimentary mochi donuts. I declined out of sheer embarrassment, but my daughter accepted one (churro flavor), and loved it. The drinks themselves were excellent: the brown sugar crème brûlée with konjac jelly was rich and satisfying, and the pineapple green tea with lychee and konjac jelly was light, refreshing, and perfectly balanced. Between the cute vibe, quality drinks, and genuinely kind service, this place left a great impression. A small hiccup on my end, but they turned it into a standout experience. read more

I got a strawberry matcha latte and it had large chunks of ice in every sip, which made it hard to enjoy. It was obviously not blended enough. For $10 I would expect better! Back at one of my favorite mochi donut store. I wanted something sweet today after dinner, so I came here to get some mochi donuts. One of my favorite flavor is Ube and they still had some tonight. Hurray! I end up getting two Ube donuts, one pebble, one Oreo, and one Cotton Candy with a cute butterfly on top. The mochi is soft and chewy. My son and I can finish it in minutes. Looking for boba, saw this place and went in. Cute place with the aesthetic and pink everywhere. Only one thought popped into my mind.....Vietnamese Iced Coffee. I only knew one other Bober Tea shop, that's the (now closed) location in Alameda. I'm guessing this San Ramon shop has different owners because they had better service and pricing. I walked in and got immediately hit with the bright pink decor. The place has a mirrored ceiling, and looked like a old school dance floor! I was expecting to have to stumble thru the screens of the ordering kiosk, but no.....the lady at the counter took my order. I just asked for a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. She asked if I wanted to add a mochi donut. Hey smooth suggestive selling! I added a chocolate donut with sprinkles. Very fast service at 830pm. The coffee was cool and refreshing, with just the right amount of ice. The mochi donut was soft and chewy. Not bad for late in the evening. I will surely return if I'm in the area again. read more

Came on a weeknight and the place was empty, which was nice - meaning that seating was available. When you walk in, the Instagrammable walls catch your eye and it's a fun spot for pictures. At the kiosk, ordered the Coconut Coco Cloud. There was an option to add on a mochi donut for $1, so ordered that, too! My order was ready within minutes of me paying! The drink was not bad, but nothing special. The cup looked a little small compared to other Bober Teas I have been to. Not sure if it's a new size across all locations or if it's just this location. The mochi donut was good. My friend and I sat down inside at one of the tables and finished our drinks and our mochi donuts. One interesting thing is, that when we left and got into our cars, we both noticed that our hair and clothes kind of had a smell to it as if we came from a BBQ place (like a K-BBQ). The only thing I can say is the Oreo mochi donut was good, and the presentation with the cute bear cup lids was adorable but that's about it. The taro milk tea just tasted like plain milk, and the boba was just okay. The lychee slush was absolutely terrible, it tasted like pure syrup. We ended up tossing it after only two sips because my husband didn't want to complain. To top it off, we both ended up with upset stomachs for the rest of the night. Stopped here for some mochi donuts and a drink. We ended up picking out Banana pocky, almond, strawberry, chocolate, cookies and cream, matcha flavored donuts and I got the Brown Sugar Matcha Latte. The donuts were pretty good very soft with a light flavor. The brown sugar matcha latte was ok wasn't bad but I personally wouldn't get it again. The service could have been a bit better I was the only person standing in the establishment no one was there to greet me or ask if I had any questions, I put in my order using the kiosks they have by the counter and waited a good 15 minutes even after ringing the bell for service, eventually someone came up front made my drink within a couple of minutes and boxed up the donuts and sent me on my way. Stopped by here when we were charging. Excited to try this place since the rating looked pretty good. We walked straight over after we started to charge, but the door was locked. We see the lights on and mochi donuts displayed. So we called and no one answered. We really wanted to try this place so we walked around the area and went back to check again in about 20 mins. Again, no one was there. We tried to call again, no answer. We went back to the car and right before we were about to leave, we called one more time. This time someone picked up so we were able to try. Walked back to order. Would have been nice if they had a sign or some indicator they were out and would be back. The ambiance is super cute. Tons of pink hearts on the wall like a valentine explosion. The stuffies they give in a surprise cup similar to Ume Tea is super cute, but it would cost another $4.95 for the cup which is not worth it according to my daughter. We ordered through the automated area, which are two wall systems. The price shown is for a small, which is already costly. To get a normal size which is a large we had to pay an extra $0.99. We ordered the Signature Milk Tea. They coat the cup with house-made brown sugar syrup, stir-fried brown sugar boba, and black milk tea. They top it with cheese cream and brulee'd brown sugar. The stir-fried boba was a bit too hard for me. My daughter liked it. I prefer bouncy, chewy boba. Also, the drink is good, but a bit too sweet. For the cost, it was not worth it for me. Quality of the drinks are not great. Drink was strangely grainy for one of the flavors I got. Some of their popular flavors are just from syrups that are in large jugs on the stored on the ground. Donuts are ok, but on the sweet side to me. The atmosphere is nice and ppl enjoy the decorations. We ordered the watermelon refresher, lemon pepper popcorn chicken, a fried chicken sandwich, and waffle fries. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The chicken sandwich looked nothing like the photo shown on the kiosk and tasted very bland. My husband noticed a mirror on the ceiling and later realized it appeared to be there to reflect the chicken patties being used, which looked like frozen chicken patties you can find at a local Walmart. The chicken was unappetizing and nothing like what was advertised. The waffle fries were dry, greasy, and had no seasoning. The lemon pepper popcorn chicken had no lemon pepper flavor and was extremely oily. We asked if our drinks could be blended since the option wasn't available on the kiosk, but they came back thick and worse than before. The inside of the shop was uncomfortably hot with no air circulation, forcing us to step outside multiple times for fresh air. Overall, the food was bland, oily, and misleadingly advertised, and the drinks were poorly prepared. This is not a matter of personal taste. Products should closely match what is advertised and meet basic quality standards. The food and drinks did not. For nearly $50, this experience was highly disappointing. Improvements need to be made to ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy in what is being sold. We would not recommend this establishment. read more

Went it in the afternoon to get my regular brown sugar cookies & cream milk tea . It came out tasting very weird so the young lady remade my drink a second time same thing . The owner comes Out asks how it tasted I said it has a burnt taste he then realized their machine had burned the brown sugar syrup he quickly replaced it and remade my drink and even threw in a free Mochi donut . Original brown sugar milk tea with boba: If you've got a sweet tooth, this is a drink for you. It has brown sugar on the sides of the cup as well as a creme brûlée topping. It was lukewarm when we got it which tells me it was made to order. It was super rich and had good milk tea flavor. 10 Yen cheese cookie thing: my husband loves trying these novelty food items so of course he had to get one when he saw it on the menu. He says it's like a pancake filled with mozzarella. He says he wouldn't go out of his way to get one but if he was hungry and already there, he would consider it. Mochi Donuts: we got three flavors: pink skies (strawberry), dirty taro (taro with Oreo crumbs and fruity pebbles), and matcha. Truthfully, the flavors were barely there. The matcha had no matcha flavor, the strawberry had just a hint of strawberry and the taro had a hint t of taro as well. The donuts were a little oily but the consistency was decent. Basically what all boba shops offer. Fried boba is their specialty. Sips: taro latte (5.90) upgrade to large +0.00 -taro bits/chucks not noticed. Liquid version meshed well with Strauss organic milk. Tasted overly sweet. Taro usually is nutty not sweet. Velvety texture a plus. 3.5 Eats: black sesame mochi donuts ($1) tues. promotion. -fried mochi donut flavorless, slightly oily. Layered on black sesame paste very unnaturally sweet. Black sesame has nutty texture, only slightly sweet. 3.5 stars the service & decor the stars. I don't know how to describe it but it's like not slimy idk 50% sweetness is still really sweet, I recommend 25% The build quality of the straws is impressive. They are a foot long and have peak structural integrity. Absolute unit, I don't think you could bend it unless you were trying to do so on purpose. I don't think I'm a mochi donut person till I try the mochi donuts here!! They have variety of flavors and each flavor stands out on its own. It's not too sweet and the texture is chewy and soft. When I came back to try them and hoping they would be fresh, they were kind of stale. Flavor was there, but texture didn't hit the same as the other time I got the mochi donuts. It kinda seemed like they were sitting for a while. For the drink, I got the Pandan Mungbean latte. It was good; I enjoyed it a lot. I was confused about their cup setup. They have a lid, and also a plastic film on top of the cup? Not sure if that is on purpose but it just didn't make too much sense to me. I also wanted to comment on their cashier system. They have self ordering screens, which makes it convenient for new customers to browse and see what they want to get. However, the machine kept failing and it caused a long wait to order and pay. I am not a huge Boba Tea fan in general, but Bober Tea offers two things that really satisfy the sweet tooth. One is their iced Vietnamese Coffees! They have several variations if you want to add things like hazelnut, boba, etc but I like the classic O.G. version - bold, sweet, and bitter at the same time. Excellent drink for hit days and better than a Cold Brew from Starbucks next door! The other item is there Mochi Donuts! My favorite flavors are Black Sesame and Taro, but you can't go wrong with any of their flavors. They really nailed down that gooey texture and I find the sweetness level balanced for my taste. Some of their donuts are really fancy with edible They are a pretty small place and the inside is like an explosion of pink from like a Barbie Doll factory, LOL! My only ding is that their Doordash system doesn't allow you to mix and match donuts. If they did, I would double down on taro and black sesame. read more

I didn't see any photos of the interior prior to coming here, but I was so amazed at the countless number of hearts that lined the wall- they reminded me a lot of those candy hearts you get during Valentine's. They have neon light decor on one wall which is a great photo spot. We ordered for pick-up and the drinks were ready in under 10 minutes. I got the roasted oolong milk tea with their stir fried boba. I didn't make any adjustments to the sweetness or ice levels as I wanted to have a baseline for the drink tasted originally. The boba was a little firm but had really good flavor. The drink itself had the nice oolong taste profile that I look for when I'm trying out a new boba place. The drink came in your standard boba cup that was sealed on top, but also had a bear-shaped lid that went over the top for added cuteness. If you love the color pink AND mochi donuts, then Bober Tea/ Mochi Dough place was made JUST.FOR.YOU :) Upon entry, you're slapped across the face in all that is pink.  Pink hearts, pink flowers, pink everything. Luckily, this is my favorite color, so I was tickled pink when we arrived. As fellow Yelpers mentioned, orders are placed using the self-serve kiosks.  This location has two kiosks.  I suggest bringing some patience with you as there could be a long wait to place an order, most especially if there is a large group ahead of you, as there are many flavor selections.  Or, for a more swift and efficient visit, place an online order for pick up. We've had the Black Sesame, Taro, Strawberry Garden, Honey Comb, Funnel Cake, Toasted Maple, and Churro flavored donuts. Our favorites are the Taro and Strawberry Garden, as they're not too sweet for us. In our opinion, Mochi Dough's donuts are the best in this area.  They're quite dense yet exceptionally soft and fluffy, very light and flavorful. Came here to meet my bestfriend for a catch up. We've both been craving boba. I was excited to check out this place as its brand new. When you enter the inside of the building is completely pink which is super cute. I also love the heart words decorations on the wall - def a fun photo op. There was a cashier but they also have the kiosk to order on your own. We used the kiosk. You can still customize your drink using the kiosk but can't pre-select the flavor for mochi donut. I ordered the regular milk tea w boba and the round cheese thing for snack. My best friend ordered the taro and a few mochi donuts. The milk tea is delicious. The boba is fresh, chewy and tasty. The cheese thing was undercook - the inside was very doughy. My bestfriend also enjoyed her boba. The mochi donuts were alright. I'd def recco this place for boba not so much the snacks I also wish they play music to complete the ambiance. I think the cat is out of the bag about this place. I came here during the grand opening and business is starting to pick up. I have been going back since and with Summer around the corner, my iced coffees may take a back seat. Mochi Donuts: THE best mochi donuts I have ever had. They are soft and chewy. The flavors rotate monthly but the mainstays are plain, black sesame and taro - all three are my go to's. Bober Tea: I don't venture away from the menu because my favorite is a plain Jasmine green tea with boba. For preferring a zero sweetener, the blobs gives it the right balance for me! Pay: everything is contactless payment. All orders are done at one of two kiosks via card. Orders are called in the order it was placed.
