This place feels like a hidden gem in the Tri-Valley. I like how this cute little cafe is local owned and there are good variety of drinks and desserts. Apparently, they are well known for their bingsu (Korean shaved ice). For me, that's a great spot for a hot summer day or perhaps all year round. The woman working was by herself and was friendly. I got the Honeycomb Latte with oat milk. I recommend letting it sit for a bit so the honeycomb flavor melts into the drink. The honeycomb pieces had a caramel like flavor with a slight smoky taste. I'd come back to try the shaved ice especially since summer is right around the corner.
ngl I have been trying to gate keep this place for years now haha occasionally telling my friends to go try the roasted rice matcha omg & the shaved ice! Are you kidding me? Everything is handmade & fresh. The lady who runs this shop is the sweetest & always is so kind to us. We love it here because most of the time it is super quiet!
Stopped by a handful of times for iced coffee and panna cotta, but there's never panna cotta. Not sure why it's even on the menu as being items available for purchase. Honeycomb & Spanish lattes are my go-tos. Have yet to try the shaved ice creams.
This place is so good for a shop so hidden away! I came during my lunch break and luckily it's right around the corner. The shop was quiet and empty but there was a lady working in the back. Once I decided on my order, I rang the little bell in the counter and she came right out. You have the try the strawberry matcha with boba!! I'm not sure what exact kind of boba she used but it's SO good, it almost tastes like brown sugar boba instead of plain cassava boba. I will be coming back to try more of their menu, I have my eye on the panna cotta! :)
Was craving something refreshing and sweet. Went 30 minutes before they closed. Worker was very kind and explained the different flavors offered. Went with the mango flavor and enjoyed it very much. Really want to try more flavors next time. Inside is small but cozy. Nice mom and pop shop. Will continue to support!
Came by on a very hot Saturday afternoon and wanted to try Kinako shave ice and the Roasted Matcha Latte. Both were amazingly good, especially on a very hot day! The Kinako shaved ice was filled with mochi which was a nice surprise and the roasted matcha was smooth. The owner was really sweet and patient! Definitely will come back for the shaved ice :D
Little small mom and pop shop in the plaza with Burger King. They have various sizes for the drinks (small, regular, large), and a regular specialty latte ran to about $6.75. Prices are not clearly listed on the menu. Their coffee has quite the bitter aftertaste, so I'd be very curious to try their hojicha and especially the bingsu! PASS: + Honeycomb latte ($6.75 regular) has toasted honey and sugar topping, which melts into the drink about 30-46 min later and helps offset the bitterness. Didn't blow me away though because it just tasted like a plain latte with low quality espresso afterwards
We came in on a Sunday morning and it was not busy and in an unassuming plaza. The lady working was very friendly and we ordered a strawberry matcha and a honeycomb latte. The matcha color was good but it was on the sweeter end probably because of the strawberry jam but it overconsumed the matcha flavor. He got the honeycomb coffee and it was strong and had huge chunks of honeycomb that we weren't sure if it would break down. But it eventually did in about 30 min. The drinks were okay and weren't super impressive but it was worth a try!
First of all, the owner is so sweet! She greets you with the most radiant smile. Second of all, these drinks are STRONG. If you aren't a regular coffee drinker, it'll hitttt. Our favorite was the kamo, which the owner freshly and perfectly whisked the matcha for. The honeycomb latte was good but I would have preferred smaller chunks so it can fit in the straw. The espresso is rich and the perfect temp. And you can buy matcha to go! A chill spot with cute little anime decor for my nerds, which I am one so I loved seeing the Pokemon cards and whatnot. Will definitely be returning.
New favorite shaved ice in the bay! My biggest pet peeve is when shaved ice relies on ice cream and minimal fruit but you won't get that here. There was fresh mango in every bite, simply delicious and not too sweet in an artificial way. Decor and ambiance is very mom-and-pop small shop which we loved. Service was prompt and very nice too. Already craving it and wanting to come back!
I had high hoped for Kamurocho. It's an unassuming cafe that has a relatively simple menu. However, I was incredibly disappointed by their roasted matcha rice latte. I ordered it with regular milk, hoping to get the flavor of matcha more, but instead the drink tasted like roasted rice and milk. There was absolutely no hint of matcha. Definitely would not recommend for matcha enthusiasts.
Great Hojicha latte. They seem to use brown sugar which is healthy. Friendly staff, easy to park, no long queue
I was looking for Japanese shaved ice in the Bay Area and outside of SF, this is one of the few around. While passing through the area on a warm day with my parents, I remembered I had this place bookmarked so we stopped in for a bit. It was empty when we walked in. We ordered two different shaved ice flavors. A bunch of kids subsequently came in after us so the nice lady had to take their orders before she was able to work on our order. We liked both flavors with my mom liking the mango better and my dad liking the kinako better. The ice was so soft and delicate and such a great treat on a warm day.

I love coming here for a kinako kakigori, both the food and the service is refreshing and calming. Kamurocho is a small shop and the ambiance reminds me of small town shops in Japan. Their coffee drinks are strong enough to wake up Snorlax! The cost is relative to its location, so be mindful that the South Bay and the peninsula may have more economic and competitive pricing. read more

I do not come here often. I should come here more often! The honeycomb coffee is still as good as it was many months ago when I had it. Strongly recommend it. Ordered the Mango Shaved Ice and it still is very good: ice melts into your mouth at first bite! Given the price of everywhere eating out now and I assume rent is increasing, shaved ice for $15 is reasonable. Service was friendly, fast and very attentive: I mentioned less sweet for the Coffee and it came out just spot on! Ambiance was nice, simple clean and cozy store. Parking was easy: spots outside the store and easy to find a spot. Will come again. read more
Tri Valley temps were hitting almost 100 so wanted something to cool down. Found this highly rated place on yelp. They sell a ham & cheese croissant, coffees, teas, lattes, and four flavors of Japanese shaved ice called kakigori, which is the star of the show. The texture of this shaved ice is like fluffy cool softness that melts in your mouth. It is different than the traditional shaved ice and it is far from a snow cone. We ordered mango and kinako (a roasted soybean flour commonly mixed with sugar). These are large desserts! It takes time to make them since there are fresh ingredients inside. The mango was superb with little bits of fresh mango buried inside the ice. Not sickeningly sweet like the syrups most places use. My husband's had little mochi pieces mixed inside. It is common to add kinako to mochi so this was a bonus and a nice surprise. The kinako dessert was sweeter than the mango. Please know that there seems to be no a/c in this little shop but she has fans going. We went in the late afternoon so it was really uncomfortable inside. I had to leave and wait outside until the dessert was ready. It's hard to take these home as it melts fast so we sat inside to enjoy them. It was like heaven in my mouth and it cooled me down instantly. You must be patient as it takes at least 10-15 minutes for her to prepare the desserts but it is worth the wait! There is a small parking lot right in front shared with other businesses. Located right off the freeway behind Burger King. read more

Kamurocho- is not the fanciest cafe in the world. But man, it's comfy. We dropped by on fairly quiet, rainy afternoon. There was a large group leaving the cafe, and I thought that was a pretty good sign. We walked inside and found an unassuming interior- but funny enough I grew up visiting many homes that felt the way Kamurocho feels. After taking our order, the lady behind the counter (the owner?) began hand-whisking tea for our lattes. I can still hear the brush swirling around the bowl. We received our order a few minutes later- Mango Kakigori, Black Kamo (espresso & hojicha) Latte, and an Iced Hojicha. The kids devoured their shaved ice while the adults sipped up some tea goodness. It was quiet. There was no music. I don't even know if they have a bathroom or wifi. But we felt at home, at ease. Not every place can do that for you. Thanks for that Team Kamurocho! read more
Been hearing about this place and finally went under the hot weather to cool down. We got a tiramisu and mango shaved ice and a honeycomb latte. There's only the owner at the time, so the service was a bit slow. She did alternated between orders and we got a shaved ice to enjoy while waiting for the other items. The shaved ice were delicious and amazing! It's airy, soft, and flavorful. The tiramisu shaved ice has cocoa powder and coffee poured over it with boba in the center. The boba tasted so much softer than the regular store-brought boba. The mango shaved ice just has mango syrup poured over it and tasted very refreshing. The honeycomb latte was good and smooth. The sweetness increase as the honeycomb melts into the coffee. The price ($35 total) was on the expensive side but we think the flavors made up for it. read more

It's been a while since I've last been here (about 2 years) so I was excited to see all the new drinks they had (particularly matcha drinks). Parking is easy as it's located in a plaza and fairly close to the freeway. It's spacious inside with a good amount of seating. I went at around 11:30am on a Saturday right before my movie and there were a few people waiting for their drinks. Drinks were made quickly! I ordered an iced roasted rice matcha latte with oat milk and sweetened with brown sugar then asked if they had a cream top which they were kind enough to do! Service was super awesome and helpful. I would've loved if the matcha was more of a vibrant green but I really enjoyed the roasted rice flavor. Definitely come on by as they have an array of drinks and desserts! read more

It's a small space, not much ambience and it's a one person operation, but that doesn't stop them from making everything to order. We had the mango kakigori and it was amazing. I also got a strawberry matcha drink, I wasn't so familiar with that combo of flavors in a drink but after some sips I enjoyed it. read more

in the age of corporate smiski digicam labubu dubai chocolate matcha, kamurocho feels like a breath of fresh air. its homey and nostalgic and feels like an auntie is making fresh sweets for you. super lowkey shop, premium yums, cool sign, what more could you ask for!!! tried the honeycomb latte (7) and matcha strawberry latte ($7.60) both were great! could taste all the flavors. the drinks were on the sweeter side but not sickeningly, more like in a slightly westernized dessert drink way. as a westernized asian i approve. service was quick, limited seating, cute decor. will come back soon to try the shaved ice! worth a visit or two!! love u kamurocho read more

Small no-frills shop in a strip mall. Few tables outside. Not much ambience inside. However, do not discount the place, as the shave ice and drinks are really good. The owner uses high quality matcha powder and fresh fruits, and you can taste it in the products. We had the Matcha Adzuki(red bean) Kakigori, Mango Kakigori, and Matcha Strawberry Latte. The shave ice itself was very fine and flaky. The owner was not skimpy with the ingredients. We thought that amount of toppings(matcha, red beans, mango) used was appropriate. Each order of shave ice was generous in amount, and two people can easily share one order. The matcha strawberry latte was rich and flavorful, without being too sweet. The lady owner was really nice too. Glad to support her business. read more
Love this place and I finally had time to come back. I used to get the matcha with rice milk, but I was craving hojicha today. The hojicha tasted so good. I like the roasty flavor and the sweetness complimented it really well. Service was quick for this small business with only one worker. There is also limited seating, so keep that in mind. I came in today for the Kamo latte. Friendly staff. The price listed was $5. The nice lady said medium and rang me up $7.25. I should've paid attention... The drink itself was pleasant. It took me a while to get used to the flavor. I ended up finishing the whole drink. My boyfriend enjoyed it as well. read more

I will keep coming back here for their yummy drinks and the owner's conversation! She's very sweet and whisks the matcha right in front of you so you know it's good. Easy to order, definitely good to take to go but there are still tables inside. Kamo Latte (5/5): Nice blend of espresso and matcha! Cute mom-and-pop shop! Stopped by to support and try their matcha! My bf had tried the honeycomb latte. He said it's strong and the honeycomb made it sweet. The barista and owner are sweet and friendly. When our order was finished she made sure to hand it to us. read more

I'm really disappointed with my experience here. I first ordered the strawberry matcha, and it literally tasted like room-temperature strawberry syrup mixed with warm matcha. It wasn't even cold -- just ice sitting on top. Honestly, it tasted like something you could easily make at home with syrup and powder. I do appreciate that she was willing to swap it out for me, but unfortunately the second drink (the latte) was even worse. It tasted like straight-up dirt -- very bitter and unpleasant.Overall, both drinks were horrible in taste, and I definitely won't be returning. read more

Was near by eating at an all you can eat Korean Barbecue and wanted some boba. Found Kamurocho boba shop and checked it out. The honeycomb latte is highly recommended ! Very nice lady handle our order and loved that it's a mom and pop shop ! Support your local businesses people !!! read more
This is a mom and pop store that serves awesome shaved ice! We tried the matcha shaved ice and it was huge, it was big enough to feed 3 of us! Perfect for a hot day. We also got the Kamo latte. It's a matcha latte with a shot of espresso! We liked it a lot! Not too sweet. The place is small but when we went , we had no problem getting a seat and enjoy our treats! read more

I legit came back the next day (today) to get the honeycomb latte again but also wanted to try the roasted matcha rice latte. you guys! it's sooo good and comforting!! i love these two drinks!! and again, the lady was so nice Original Post: Cute little shop!
