They finally have the gelato!! Got Matcha with Jasmine Matcha gelato on top with 80% sweetness. The jasmine flavor really came thru on the first bite of the gelato and it paired well with the matcha. The drink was on the sweeter side even with 80% sweetness so I would get 50% or 30% if you like less sweet especially since the ice cream was sweet. I do prefer sweeter matcha and the ice cream was a nice touch on top. I also got an extra scoop of Hojicha gelato and it was really good. Still on the sweeter side with a nice hojicha flavor. I would even pair the hojicha gelato with the matcha drink next time. The workers were nice and gave me their opinion when I asked what they recommended. She said the level 5 matcha gelato was really bitter and that she likes the genmaicha or jasmine matcha gelato. I will definitely come back next time to try the other matcha gelato levels! read more

Stopped by to try a few of their matcha drinks, and everything was delicious! We ordered the Banana Pudding Matcha Einspanner, Einspanner Matcha, Matcha Latte, and Ube Matcha. The matcha itself tasted high quality--smooth, rich, and not overly bitter. The Banana Pudding Matcha Einspanner was my favorite. It had a nice balance of creamy sweetness without overpowering the matcha. The Ube Matcha was also really good, with the ube adding a subtle sweetness, sugar level 80%. The classic Matcha Latte and Einspanner Matcha were both well-made and perfect if you enjoy a more traditional matcha flavor. Overall, a great spot for matcha lovers. I ordered the banana pudding brûlée matcha and it was super good! The last time I ordered this drink at the Santa Clara location, the brûlée was completely burnt and left a bitter aftertaste. Here, the brûlée-to-pudding ratio was perfect. The matcha part of the drink tasted pretty solid too. Ordering is done on a kiosk - my drink was ready in about 5-8 minutes. They still have the original Yogost drink menu, but now have a Matsu Matcha set of drinks. You can customize sweetness and add 1-3 toppings. The mochi topping is very soft and light. Drink came out in 5 minutes. I've only tried the ube matcha so far but the matcha flavor is prominent. Couldn't quite taste the ube but maybe it's because I'm drinking through a straw. We ordered our drinks at 8:35 PM and immediately received a confirmation text saying they would be ready by 8:40 PM. The kiosks were having issues, so we actually had to place our order twice because the system froze while we were paying, then refreshed and made us start over. Once we got the confirmation text, I knew the 8:40 pickup time wasn't realistic because the place was clearly busy, so I wasn't too concerned about the estimate. However, we didn't end up receiving our drinks until 9:35 PM... An hour later. There were only two employees working, and I'm sure they were doing the best they could under the circumstances, but a one hour wait for drinks is pretty excessive. I also noticed that several customers who had ordered online appeared to be waiting just as long, if not longer. What concerned me more was seeing one of the employees refill a squeeze bottle with fruit extract and accidentally drop the lid on the floor. She immediately put the lid back on and continued making drinks without cleaning or sanitizing it first. We had ordered three drinks, so naturally I was worried that the contaminated lid may have affected our order. Regardless of whether it was for our drinks or someone else's, that's not a sanitary practice. We did bring it to their attention, and to their credit, they were receptive since the preparation area is completely visible to customers. After we pointed it out, she cleaned the lid and discarded one batch that had been made using the bottle. I appreciate that they corrected it when confronted, but it's concerning that it happened in the first place. It was a bit too sweet for me. I liked the banana flavor on top. It has small chunks of banana. Next time I might ask for less ice as well. There was a lot of ice in my drink and I wish I would've had more matcha, for the price. It was $9.47 for this specific flavor. That's why I'll give it 4 stars instead of 5. We have come here twice since they rebranded into matsu matcha, and the drinks have been disgusting and inedible ever since the rebrand. We have gotten the same drink here, oolong milk tea with boba, for years, and the last two times it has tasted either sour like milk had gone bad, or completely like chemicals. The most recent time we got it, we instantly felt completely sick with one sip and it tasted like some sort of chemicals, and even writing this an hour after receiving the drink, we feel very awful. I used to frequent this location back when it was Yogust and came again after the rebrand to Matsu Matcha. I was very disappointed when I got my drink as the worker who made it forgot to put any ounce of sugar in it. I ordered my drink with mochi and when I asked for the sugar correction, this worker blended my whole drink with sugar, completely destroying the chunks of mochi. I didn't think much of it since I've had very good experiences with this location before but I came again and was again, disappointed. The drinks were fine this time but the workers were incredibly inefficient and they were clearly understaffed for the amount of popularity of the location. It took more than 30 minutes to get our drink and they ended up serving one of our drinks in a cup with a hole in it so during the drive home, it leaked everywhere in the bag. We ordered boba in multiple of our drinks and they served it in cups that couldn't even fit a big straw. Overall, this location needs a lot of work, mainly just more staff so that the workers don't have to rush through every drink. Hope they improve. read more
