Every table inside and outside the bakery has a beautiful rose centerpiece.

I stumbled across Primrose Bakery while in downtown Pleasanton. I was very impressed by the selection of cakes and pastries. Not only were there many options, but the cakes were crafted so creatively, and were also delicious! Customer service was friendly and efficient. This is a European style bakery and the interior reflects just that. I highly recommend this bakery and I have been a return customer numerous times since my initial visit.

Got some cupcakes delivered form this spot for loved ones, they had a box of 6 that had chocolate, vanilla and red velvet. I am deducting one star as I wish they offered an option to order your own flavors (aka all red velvets or 3 vanilla and 3 red velvet). But the loved ones loved them so it was good. Haven't tried this location in person, will update the review when I do get a chance to try it one day and will comment on service and ambience the n.

Great service. Beautiful Cakes, Pastries, Pies and other yummies, even dog treats. We kept it simple. English Muffins, Dog Treats, Chocolate Eclair and a Sticky Bun. Always the biggest challenge is trying not to buy everything!

Primrose is our family's go to place for baked goods. They have great selection of cookies, muffins, canollis, cakes, croissants, & anything in between. I just wish they had more seating area to savor the yummy goodness of each moment. (lol) Each delicious items are uniquely cater to those who loves coffee, like myself who just want a little treat to enjoy with every sip. I would definitely recommend Primrose to friends and family, and to those who wants to elevate your day to the next level.

    Cookies!

I forgot to take a pic of the actual cookie I had but I tried the Cowboy cookie from here! It was an oatmeal cookie with chocolate and butterscotch chips and walnuts. It was super rich and buttery and it was a pretty thin cookie which was nice. I devoured it in 5 bites! I liked how crispy the cookie was as well. I would love to try one of her cakes in the future :)

After dinner at an Italian restaurant, we decided to go for a short walk and happened to come across this bakery by chance. Once inside, the desserts on display immediately caught our eye. They all looked absolutely beautiful. We decided to try a cannoli and chose the pistachio one. It was incredible: very fresh, not overly sweet, and perfectly balanced. We loved it. We will definitely come back to this bakery, especially making a point to stop by whenever we're in Pleasanton.

Awesome selection of pastries. I got the almond one and it was delicious. Staff very friendly and the store was beautifully decorated. Great place to get cakes and pastries in downtown Pleasanton.

Slice of sweet potato pie with a dollop of freshly whipped cream

The sweet potato pie was a pleasant change from the chocolate pie we're used to having every year for Thanksgiving. The crust (sidewall) was great but the one at the bottom kind of blended in with the pie. We had some whipped cream to go with it which really added to the flavor...not sure if we'll try it again next year though...we'll see.

I have been wanting to come here for awhile. So glad I was able to check this off now. They are known for their pastries. Ordered their popular frangipane, pistachio cannoli and pecan pie. Also tried their coffee. It was pretty good to my surprise. I ordered their white chocolate raspberry latte. It gave off a strong raspberry flavor with a good balance of caffeine (medium roast). If you like bold dark roast, you may want to ask them to add another half shot. The frangipane has nice almond taste with light to medium cream texture. The pecan pie tart was a little on the dry side though. They don't fill it with the typical heavy caramelized coating which is a good thing for health conscious pecan pie lover.

    What are your GF options?

We have French Macarons, Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies, Florentine Cookies, Chocolate Raspberry Bar, Walnut Pecan Brownie, Creme Brulee, Red Velvet Cheese Cake, Flourless Chocolate Cake, and often we have sundry items on our display shelves, like…

Do you have egg free(no eggs, egg wash, egg yolk or egg whites; no eggs in any form) options on your menu?

Hi, Stephanie. We have a small selection: Vegan Raspberry Chocolate Bar, Vegan Brownies, Florentine Cookie, and some of our Turkish Delights. Our kitchen does use eggs in other products, so there can be trace amounts of eggs (and other food…

Do you have gender reveal cakes?

Yes, we do. The best way to order is to contact our cake designer, Maureen, at service@primrosebakery.com. Thank you for your inquiry!

What do you do with all your baked goodies that don't sell by the end of the day?

Hi, Elise. When the items are expired, we dispose of them. They would not be palatable anymore. Thank you for your inquiry. Best, -Jesse

Do your bakery make cheese cake?

    Yes they do

    Do you sell brownies?

I did not see any brownies at this bakery when I was there

    Do you make pavlova cakes?

Thank you for your inquiry, Angelica. I'm afraid we do not make Pavlova Cakes. Trying to think of the most similar thing we do make, our Saint Honore cake comes to mind. It is not meringue, but it is mage with puff pastry dough so it is crispy…

Hi I wonder if your pastries are vegatarian?

Hi, Emine. Yes, most of our pastries are vegetarian. (Not containing meat.) Included in the list is a blackberry croissant, which is vegan. We hope to see you in the store soon!

    Do you make 6inch cakes?

Hi, Avani. Thank you for contacting us. We do make 6" cakes by special order. I'm afraid we are booked up for special orders through August, but beyond that, we are open. We always have 8" cakes in our display case, which serve 8 - 10 people. And we…

Do we need to pre-order if we need 2-3 dozen cupcakes or do you usually have those in stock?

We sometimes sell out. To be safe, I recommend preordering a few days to a week in advance. Thank you for your inquiry!

Do you guys sell princess cake slices? I don't want an entire cake, just a few slices.

Hi, Swarna. Thank you for contacting us! Yes, we do sell Princess Cake slices. We stock them every day but they do sell out, so please call to make sure we have them before you make a special trip to buy them. If you buy them over the phone, we will…

I'm trying to order cakes for a birthday party, what are the largest size cakes that you do? And do you also do sheet cakes?

Hi, Vanessa. Thanks for contacting us. The biggest single tier (round) cake we make is 18" in diameter and around 4.5" tall. It serves 130 people and starts at $350. If we make a tiered cake (like a wedding cake) we can make it up to 300 servings.…

Will you have galette des rois?

Hi, Charbel. Thank you for contacting us. We have made galette des rois in the past but they haven't sold very well so we no longer make them. We do make wonderful frangipanes. They come in cranberry, apricot and pear (my favorite). We make mini…

How can anything made here be gluten free if it's made in a regular bakery? Cross contamination would be guaranteed!

Hi, Crystel. This is a good question. There is an important distinction between a gluten-free product and a gluten-free kitchen. We do sell GF products - products that are made with alternative forms of flour or with no flour at all. But we do not…

When that happens, I have to give them kudos because at some places, the changes are so subtle they're almost meaningless. The drinks were OK, and they did the job on a a cold and rainy morning. As for the pastries, they were just OK. I've had better at other bakeries (and other branches of this same company), and with the plethora of options around for baked goods, you can find better. With that being said, it may just have been the couple of choices we had for food. The ube filled baked good was not very good, but I say that as an ube fiend. I have ube a lot, including back in the motherland. It was more like taro than ube, when it came to taste. As for the quantity, there wasn't a lot of it either. The actually bread part was soft and nice, and it was pretty. The egg tarts weren't the best. They left something to be desired. I would suggest getting something else.
