Over the years we have gotten some cakes from Noland's. They don't carry premade cakes in the shop anymore, so you would have to preorder. Now we go for the cupcakes. My brother-in-law ordered 2 cakes for my sister's 50th birthday. My mom called yesterday asking them to have both cakes in boxes and ready to go for the next day because she'd be in a rush. As my mom spoke to them, they didn't even know which 2 cakes were ours. My mom and I got to the store this morning and nothing was ready. Mary (asst manager) and her cashier were scrambling for boxes, trying to figure out which ones would fit, only to have to tape 2 boxes together. While putting the boxes together they damaged the sides of the cake against the inside of the box causing the frosting come off. Mary then takes the sheet cake back into the kitchen to have another employee add more frosting or in Mary's words "fix the cake." My custom cake was delicious, but my design is not what is order. I needed a cake for my daughter sweet 15 and in person and text exchange I requested pink and silver. I asked for glitter. It is in writing. I gave a picture reference of a cake example I wanted and a picture of my daughters dress so there was a color reference. Glitter was not added cause he felt it was too much and would look busy (even though I wanted it was told ok) and the color was more of a vanilla/off white color. First picture is the in cake at my venue under darker lighting (they took), next pictures. are the cake at my house in daylight, and last picture were the reference once I gave. I have the exact text exchange we had with all the pictures attached and owner still refuses to acknowledge mistake. He kept insisting it was a light pink. So unfortunately cause cake was delicious and beautifully made. This was my first time ordering from them. Would have overlooked the mistake if owner would've acknowledged the mistake but he wouldn't. He believes this cake is light pink and I don't agree. Used Noland's for my daughter's first birthday cake and it was great! I was able to communicate with them via phone and email and they met my expectations and more. I explained what I wanted my design to be like as well as sending some pinterest photos and they nailed the design. I was very particular about how it would look and didn't want it to be cheesy or off but it was great. The cake traveled well and everyone enjoyed it. We got lemon cake with a raspberry filling. The filling was more of a cream filling not like a raspberry jam. It wasn't overly sweet and the outer buttercream was light. I'm glad I didn't go with fondant as it usually doesn't taste good. Extremely bad experience for the host, the guests and as well the birthday boy who didn't even would want to go near that cake after the first bite :( We had requested for an eggless cake from one of their existing designs and were not informed of anything that could be attributed to the end result, which turned out to be a brick to cut through and tough nut to crack. It looked like it wasn't baked hood as well. Wow!!! What a great experience from beginning to end. I was looking for a bakery to do something special for my daughter's bridal shower. I went to Noland's on a Monday morning and the staff spent over a 1/2 an hour helping me design a beautiful cake. Picked the cake up Saturday at 11:00 just liked they promised. Wow what a horrible experience I had with this cake shop yesterday. They have been my Go-To Bakery for over 35 years including for our wedding cake, baby showers, baptisms and birthdays.. but no longer. I showed up shortly before 10 am as scheduled to pick up a cake for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday, but was told they needed 1 more hour because it was scheduled for 11 am. WRONG!! Since this was unacceptable, they hurried and finished it in 25 minutes and it was sloppy and disappointing. It didn't even have "Happy 2nd Birthday"written on it! I had explicitly said I didn't want a digital print of a train, which looks tacky, but that's what they did! They were unapologetic and unfriendly. When I asked for a discount on this overpriced, underwhelmingly decorated cake that was now making me late for the party, the baker rudely argued with me. So sad to have to break up with my bakery.. but never again. It doesn't matter if it tasted good.. we will have to remember this bad experience every time we look at the photos of this beautiful child's birthday party. read more

First, the pros: - The cake was beautifully decorated. So so pretty. - Cake was delicious (we ordered champagne cake as our first choice and chocolate as second). Moist and Italian buttercream they use is so good. - Dealt with co owners from beginning to end. She was extremely helpful and friendly when I initially came in to place my order. Now the cons: - when I went to the store, I didn't decide on the cake or anything yet. I paid for half to reserve a 2 tier cake. I also bought the mini cupcakes so I can taste the diff flavors - same day, I called her back to place my order. I told her that my daughter's first choice is the champagne cake and filling. I wasn't sure about my second choice but finally decided on chocolate slaw and filling. She said "okay I'll do champagne for bottom tier (bigger tier) and then chocolate for top tier. The cake was delivered to the restaurant. When they cut it, it was chocolate at the bottom and champagne as top tier. So we had the champagne cake gone quickly and hardly anyone at the chocolate cake and we had 1/3 of it left! When I called and spoke to the co owner, she took zero accountability and started with "well I w been taking cake orders for a long time. So I know how to do this." Really? Can't make an (honest l) mistake? Then she tried to say that I placed my order at the store during my initial visit which I most certainly did not. Then she said "well you got the cake. It tastes good right? You got the cake you ordered and I gave you a good price." She said she couldn't give me anything then at the end, offered me 3 free cupcakes when I told her I'd leave a review on Yelp. Mind you, after I placed my order, the customer service and communication tanked. I had to ask them to confirm. I asked the day before if delivery was set for 6 pm. Then the day of, 10 mins before delivery time, during my daughter's graduation, I get a text saying I have to pay the balance asap for delivery. Why didn't they ask me the day before? When I told her, no accountability again. She said "well we didn't know if you will be at the restaurant or not to receive the cake}." I told her "why didn't you ask me and she should have confirmed everything a day or two prior." The cake and design were amazing. And so was initial customer service. I even referred a friend. But based on the lack of accountability, I don't think I will be returning, unfortunately. read more

My mom's company ordered cupcakes and a custom cake from Noland's in celebration of a big milestone project and I am so glad they chose this place. The cupcakes and cake turned out so beautiful and were all perfectly assembled! The cupcakes were magnificent. We received 2 chocolate and 2 vanilla. Although I have not yet indulged in a chocolate, I have no doubts it will be 10/10 like the yellow cake was. If you are looking to custom order desserts for a special occasion, I highly recommend coming here. If you don't believe me, just look at these pictures!! The cake is moist, the frosting is fudgy, and the filling is smooth and creamy. Everything comes together to create flavors so much better than I can describe in this review! The one thing that kind of threw me off guard was the delivery. The cake was delivered to my house uncovered, which I found odd. Although I understand trying to prevent anything from getting squished or butchered in the process of covering it/boxing it, I would expect some sort of enclosure to prevent germs or dirt from getting on the cake..especially during covid!
