Read great things about QP Tapas, so my boo and I decided to give it a try. We got there a few minutes before our reservation time, and were asked to sit at the bar since they were still getting ready to open. The service was kind but definitely hands off, if that makes any sense? It took a bit to get our order taken and we weren't offered any bread initially. I had to ask for it when I saw the table next to ours receive it. There's no dedicated server and instead you're helped by everyone, but that leads to gaps in service. Some restaurants (like Cote) have mastered this, but it's not quite there at QP. Plus, every check has a 20% service charge automatically added, which is steep considering there were moments I felt ignored. With that said, the ambiance is very relaxed with great music playing throughout. Now, for the food. The portions are hearty for being tapas, but they're definitely pricey. And, while the flavor combinations are very unique, all of our dishes were too salty. We started with the matrimonio (pan con tomate topped with anchovies), which we expected to be salty, so this was actually our highlight. We also got the yucas bravas topped with a fried egg, which was tasty, but the sauce overpowered the dish and the chorizo added another salty component. The uni risotto was interesting, but unfortunately overpowered by the chili oil. The lamb belly was tasty and nicely balanced. The most disappointing dish was the basque cheesecake with mango caramel, which also tasted too salty for my liking (perhaps it was because the top was too burnt). While it was fluffy, it was missing that gooey center that basque cheesecake is known for. As for drinks, I went with their house sangria that was absolutely divine. If not for the fact that it was $17 a pop, I would've had more, as it was bursting with flavor and extremely refreshing. For those (like me) that need to know about parking - there's street parking nearby, with valet and lots also available.

I must've just gotten all the wrong things. Didn't help that when I asked the waiter for recommendations she basically pointed out the entire menu lol. I had the croquettes, the chorizo with honey, and the peppers stuffed with tuna. I don't remember the specific names they gave them. None was great and I had to force myself to finish the meal (the chorizo I just couldn't... way too sausagey if you know what I mean). Had their sherry caipirinha which wasn't terrible, but also wasn't great. They put a ton of citrus in the drink to mask the sherry taste, but both are noticeable. You kinda get used to it after a few sips, but definitely not the smoothest drink. Overall, just wasn't impressed. Probably won't be back unless someone else is treating.

I wanted to check this place out because I've been in the mood for Spanish cuisine. This isn't your traditional Spanish restaurant. From the menu and the inside it's more of a fusion of Spanish-Japanese. What we ordered: - pan con tomate 10/10 : haven't been to a place in Miami with Pan con tomate like this one - pork belly 10/10: love the flavors ( our favorite) - lamb belly 10/10: it's verrry unqiue, has a lot of flavor with the teriyaki sauce. - yuccas bravas 9/10: really yummy but it was strange that the waitress said the sauce was on the bottom, it was difficult to mix it all around in a small bowl - txistorra Gilda 8/10: I liked the combo of the chorizo and honey. - cheesecake 10/10: this isn't your traditional cheesecake, it's baked differently to be more airy and light. The service was fast and the staff was very nice. I would come back for happy hour and try the frozen sangria.

Trying to hit all the spots infatuations list, and QP Tapas shows up. We ordered jamón serrano, garlic shrimp, yuccas bravas, lamb belly, and rice pudding for dessert. The garlic shrimp absorbed lots of flavor from the crispy garlic while still being soft and subtle. The leftover oil-based sauce was a great dip for the little round breads that with the jamón serrano. Instead of the typical patatas bravas, they offer Yuccas Bravas with smoked tomato, chorizo, cotija cheese, and a fried egg. Of all the dishes we ordered, I have to say this plate was my favorite. Charred Lamb Belly was presented in a sauce made up of fish sauce and teriyaki. Magnificent. I'm not a huge fan of belly meat due to the fat content and the texture, but this lamb meat hit differently. It was moist and incredibly tender. The fat melted in your mouth instead of being gummy. For dessert, we ordered rice pudding with mandarin oranges and what looked to be homemade whipped cream. Surprisingly Refreshing! The service was excellent! The food was quickly presented after ordering. I want to go back and try a couple of other dishes real soon!

I came here for date night & had a really nice time. The food was delicious and the ambiance was ambiancing LOL! They had lots of seating options both indoors and out, and I was pleased to find that even on a Saturday night they weren't crazy busy like Green Street down the road was. Our favorite thing we ordered was the Txistorra Gilda. I'm Spanish & had never had this type of chorizo - plus, the honey on top gave it such a nice sweet and salty balance. I'd also recommend the Charred Lamb Belly - so delicious & filling.

Loved it! Service was excellent as usual and the food was great! The best plate is the uni risotto and the yuccas bravas

Uni Risotto. Delicious! Next time, I'm getting the okonomiyaki. Exciting menu!

Wow! My friends told me about QP Tapas and it's as delicious as they told me! The Uni Risotto was creamy with whole wheat orzo pasta. The trout roe and chili oil were a perfect match. The presentation was beautiful in a colorful ceramic dish. The Korabi and Farm Herbs salad was served with a spoon, and it is really needed to get all flavors from the top to the bottom of the dish. Textures and flavors galore! It's absolutely refreshing. Service was excellent, and I met the partners who were so friendly and did a great job. They are located in the MKT Kitchen at 18th and Ponce de Leon. Enjoy!

I took advantage of their 4 course $60 dinner special (not listed on their website but offered every day, including weekends) and went with the Caesar Salad, 14 oz skirt steak, fries and flan. Each dish was very good, the steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, the fries were crispy and good, and the flan was probably the best I've ever had. I enjoyed a very good glass of Malbec reserve with my meal. La Cabrera also offers a $39 lunch special. Ambiance was charming and the service was also very good. Far superior choice, food wise, to Chop.

A restaurant that still comes to mind months later is usually doing something right, and this visit confirmed what we loved about our first experience. We made reservations without any issues a couple of days before. The restaurant was clean, bright, and had not filled up yet with the busy Sunday family crowd. Upon being seated, we were provided with the regular menu and the Miami Spice Lunch menu. The Miami Spice Lunch, which has now become a daily Executive Lunch special, is a standout value. The portion sizes and the quality of the Argentinian steaks speak for themselves. As a group, here's what we ordered: Starters - Ham and Cheese Empanadas - Morcilla - Grilled Provolone Each starter delivered exactly what you'd expect from an Argentinian steakhouse. The empanadas were warm and flaky, the morcilla was rich and well seasoned, and the grilled provolone came out bubbling and perfect for sharing amongst our table with the restaurant's complementary bread basket. Entrée: - New York Strip Steak, 12 oz This was the only cut of steak we ordered. It was cooked to each of our desired temperatures and seasoned simply, letting the quality of the beef speak for itself. It is clear why La Cabrera has a reputation as one of Latin America's best restaurants. Sauces on the side, which included a BBQ sauce, and a chimichurri, were left for our choosing and were used for the side dishes more than anything. Sides: - French Fries - Jasmine Rice Both sides complemented the steak well. The fries were crispy and large in size. My father-in-law, a cuban man who's very serious about his rice dishes, thought the jasmine rice was very good. Dessert: - Dulce de Leche Ice Cream with Cone - Dulce de Leche Pancakes The ice cream was smooth and rich, while the pancakes were finished with a sugary powder coating that was impossible to resist. This lunch reinforced why La Cabrera continues to be stand out in a crowded field of steakhouses. Between the consistency, generous portions, and the value of their daily menu specials, it's an easy recommendation whether you're bringing family, hosting someone from out of town, or simply looking for a great lunch in Coconut Grove.

They really know how to make a girl feel welcome. From the moment we walked in we were accommodated at the bar and served promptly. I love how a cocktail bar has a carafe of water ready for you with two short glasses it was perfection and in my opinion, a great attention to detail. Now the bartender this guy is on point. I've never seen a cocktail be shook with such intention. Everything he (Tom) was making looked perfect and I definitely hope to come back and try some more perhaps a whiskey sour? The place is tiny, but so charming the lighting is perfect. The barstools are so chic. It's just super inviting and it's the perfect little neighborhood bar. Didn't say I was welcomed when I walked in the door! The bartender looked up and said (with volume and gusto) "Welcome to Mae's!" Now, I Am grinning! I told the bartender I wanted a Hendrick's martini, straight up, very, very, very cold; no vermouth, olives and a lime! When I tell you it was cold, it was my 3 very colds! Perfect! Now I am very, very happy! Mae's lived up to its word: it's all about the Art of the Classic Cocktail! There is no food at Mae's but they have a great arrangement with Chugs! We checked in with the bartender and he suggested we order the OG burger. Chug's offers a limited Menu at Mae's; I'm sure there might not have been 10 Items on their list. You order, you get a text, you go next door To the window and pick up your "snack." Know that you are not going to have a giant burger with the works; our OG had a patty, shredded lettuce, pickles with their sauce on a great bun $9.95; and we ordered fries which we shared. This was not the night. We left after one drink; with a 20% tip on 2 drinks, my bill was a tad over $34; which I claim reasonable. I will let you know when I go back!
