The octopus over black rice was outstanding, the shrimp tostadas with salsa macha were full of flavor, the fava bean purée was unique and delicious, and the Tlaxcalan-style barbacoa marinated with dried chilies was simply unforgettable. Wonderful experience! Frankie, the maître d' was very welcoming. I also requested a high chair or space for a stroller for my friends who brought their 2-year old. Frankie acknowledged it right away and they seated us in the perfect corner table. The drinks were all spectacular. We had the Mex-Tlan, Miami Vibes, and Umami Mule. The food was also equally delicious. We had the taco de hongos, tiradito de kampachi, tostadas de camarón, arroz negro, and a barbacoa de Cordero. The service was also excellent, and we received a surprise text after we left because the 2-year old forgot his dinosaur toy behind & Frankie reached out to ensure they could be reunited. Lovely spot in Calle Ocho. The restaurant is in an unassuming shopping plaza with free parking. However, once you open those doors, you are transported to a chic and vibrant room with a beautiful long bar by the entrance. The bartender immediately greeted us and served us delicious cocktails! We decided to wait at the bar while we were waiting for the rest of our party, but as soon as everyone arrived, we were escorted to our table. Everything was absolutely delicious. I recommend ordering a few plates to share like the tiradito, shrimp tostadas, octopus in aguachile, and pork belly. The food and service do not disappoint. Can't wait to come back! read more

Adorable new Mexican style French Bistro in the heart of little havana. what a fun and colorful ambience that fits the Cuban neighborhood. great intentive service, they change your silverware and plate wear out after each meal. dishes are designed to be shared for parties of two or four. we ordered a number of dishes to get a real taste of everything. I don't even know where to start. some of my favorites are the octopus for starters, ceviche, and the seafood soup! we tried their Catch of the Day which was a branzino. The delegate fish was cooked perfectly soft on the inside with a crispy crunch on the outside. We also tried there wagyu tacos, which is build it yourself tacos so you don't actually have to create the taco if you prefer to eat the meat by itself, but comes with a ton of condiments that makes it really delicious combination. We also try to the flan and berlinesa for dessert. They berlinesa is topped with truffle which is a really unique twist on dessert! great spot for fine dining for dinner for two or a celebration! I went on a Thursday night, and there was only one server (poor guy), so the service was a bit slow, but he did the best he could. The food was delicious. We loved everything (branzino, shrimp tostadas) with the exception of the braised beef, which had the least flavor. Really special. The food was fantastic and I cannot recommend the cocktails enough, specifically the Mex-Tlan if you like your drinks smoky. The wagyu dish was simple and to the point--the beef shined, it was very tender and cooked perfectly. I recommend sitting at the bar to socialize with the bartenders, and every staff member was kind and quick with orders/requests. We also received quite a few freebies as a token of their appreciation. The decor is a nice blend of old and new Miami with art deco vibes. Transport yourself to Mexico City, but in Miami! You'll be blown away by the decor and the ambiance of this restaurant, and forget that you're in a strip mall in Calle ocho. The staff went above and beyond to welcome us, and give us the best service imagined. The food was magnificent and that's rare to say about allot of places in Miami! I know the menus will seasonally change, but if they have the mussels, do yourself a favor and order them as well as the octopus! It was divine. I look forward to going again. Just know they charge you $15 to park in the strip mall, so do yourself a favor and park outside the strip mall where there's allot of parking for $4. This place was fantastic! I cannot say enough good things. First the food was absolutely amazing. We started off with the ceviche verde which was great. It was fresh and flavorful and unique with the peas and the crunch on top. We also had a dish with crab on a bread which is pictured. I forget what it is called but it's worth noting. I usually don't like crab but the flavors of this were so great. Also the branzino is a don't miss if they have it and the pork belly was the perfect doneness. I think that anything you eat here would be delicious. Remember to get a cocktail too while you are at it because the flavors blend together beautifully. Second, the place is so cute and the staff were amazing. We felt like we were dining at a family member's restaurant the way they took care of us. Everyone was so friendly and explained each dish to us. I live out of town but I would come back to Miami just to eat here. read more

Quaint and lovely little hidden gem in an unassuming strip mall near little Havana/the roads. Great vibes and very pretty decor (the inside is art deco night dimly lit just right.). We loved everything we ordered and the service was excellent. The owner came by to tell us his story and we really enjoyed the drinks, the apps, the mains and the desert. People assume that everyone speaks Spanish and not all staff spoke English but that's kinda Miami so we didn't really mind. Will be back and will make this place a regular spot. Amazing delicious food, come here without expectations and you might leave with the best little place to call date night on a weekly basis. Had the octopus starter con aguachile that is fenomenal, also the mussels that seem to be the sleeper on the menu, definitely show it some love. The main entree for us was the lamb shank pepian that melted off the bone. The cocktails are a very light refreshing and delicious and pair very nicely to the food. Frankie took care of us while simultaneously making the place feel like you're part of the family. Beautiful interior, fantastic service overseen by the vibrant and very attentive Frankie, as well as innovative and well executed dishes. Despite the rough around the edges exterior and location, the inside beckons like any well designed, elegant dining room would. The cocktail list plays on some of the classics while also introducing a very interesting innovative corn-ash cocktail. The ceviche and grilled octopus appetizer are among the best, freshest flavors I have had while living in Miami. The lamb shank, though a bit dry, was saved by the incredible sauce and bokchoy. The chocolate tart was incredible. I look forward to many more return visits. This has potential to be our new go to for girls and date nights. Only points of improvement would be to be careful about pouring flat water into someone's glass of sparkling water as well as cleaning out the bokchoi garnish to ensure no sand remains between the leaves packed together. read more

The restaurant is in the most unassuming place in Little Havana..right next to the Taco Stand. You'd never know there was a fine dining restaurant there..but once you walk in you're transported! The drinks are amazing! We were told that the head mixologist also hails from Mexico City and is ranked as one of the tops in the world. The drinks were creative and amazing!! But the food is why you need to go. The Executive chef was the Chef de Cuisine for years and years of the legendary Pujol in Mexico City. Constantly ranked in the top 50 restaurants in the world. (If you don't know it..you're not the foodie you think you are). Pancho was his name and he was actually at the restaurant when we went and he couldn't be more gracious to my sister and me. Chatting table side with us for a super long time. Was so much fun! They give you a complimentary starter that was so complex with flavors and so utterly delicious it was a super start to the evening. We started with (I can't remember their real names) the shrimp tostadas and the mushroom tacos...and we were blown away. And we split the branzino which was the best fish ever! Sweet, crispy skin, and oh so tender. Rolled in homemade tortillas with lots of accompaniments. And we had some chocolate decadence for dessert! This is a hidden gem. If you love fine Mexican dining...a reasonable price point...and strive for quality of the level of a Michelin starred restaurant in a beautiful space with super friendly servers and an even more friendly GM in Frankie...check it out! We ate in the dining room which was super cozy. They have a beautiful bar where they have bar bites and a 6 (?) course tasting menu that you can't get in the dining room. Bistro 8 nailed it. The El Burro Ahumado Mule that Gustavo made was perfectly balanced -- smoky, crisp, and seriously refreshing. The Cangrejo appetizer was rich and delicate, with King crab, toasted brioche, and ikura that made every bite pop. The Wagyu con Papas -- buttery Wagyu beef with mashed potatoes -- was just unreal. Melt-in-your-mouth good. Reuben took amazing care of us -- friendly, sharp, and totally on point. Frankie checked in during the night and brought great energy. Bistro 8 serves an absolutely delicious branzino and the roasted garlic muscles were just perfect. The decor is very pretty, with just the right lighting, but not as elegant as I had expected. I thought it would be very stylish with strong French influences, to contrast with its location in a strip mall, especially considering the prices. The appetizers start at $22 & $27 and the drinks around $17, which I expect to pay for luscious decor and location. The parking leaves a lot to be desired as well, since the "valet" is two saved spots in front of the bistro where you park yourself. read more
