I was about ready to give this place 4 stars, but a few things detracted from my dining experience. 1st: I asked my server what was on tap - she listed a number of out-of-state brews, but when I asked about "anything local" she neglected to mention SPOTTED COW! I've had the cow in WI before, and it's my favorite beer of Wisconsin. Instead the only beer she remembered was an irish stout, which was ok, but was no spotted cow. I found out about their cow after waltzing past the bar taps. Ok, that's strike 1. Strike 2 was my 2nd beer: spotted cow. It had a soapy flavor. I had to send it back. My replacement spotted cow tasted great. Strike 3 was my dinner order. I ordered the west coast burger but asked to have tanglers on it (shredded fried onions). The west coast burger's guac was just a green hue instead of a layer, and there were no tanglers. Other than these 3 strikes, the restaurant was a pleasant experience. Just had drinks at the bar...decent selection, the middle aged male bartender was excellent/funny/personable. A great bartender can make an otherwise average place great! read more

Just had lunch here on the patio! The service was exceptional (I think his name was Brian). It is a large restaurant which can accomodate big parties, although I recommend eating on the patio if it is a warm day. Try any of the salads, sandwiches were great too. read more

My sister's hyped this place up, saying they heard great things about it. The location is very nice. Our server was helpful and attentive. The food was only okay. I ordered fried fish and there was nothing special to it. Nothing special to the sauce I dipped it in too. I also ordered a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer, it tasted better than my fish. The only thing I didn't like was that one slice had nothing in it. Okay, so it wasn't entirely nothing. It did contain at least one chunk of chicken and a little cheese. I also tried the potstickers, nothing special there. I've had better at Chinese buffets. The mixed drink I got was not very tasty either. Overall the food and drinks here didn't match all the great things people were saying. I might have had a different opinion if I didn't hear how great it was before going. read more

Cool location and decor but the fries were so salty as to be almost inedible. And, who doesn't bring ketchup to the table when delivering a burger? Having to wait while the server took another table's order was beyond annoying. read more

Pullman's has three things going for it: the food, which is very good, the setting, which is stunning, and the ambiance, which is better than average. We chanced upon the restaurant through the recommendation of a local resident and were delighted when we tried it for lunch. Then a few weeks later, we returned with a party of 6 and had a delicious dinner marred only by the appearance and bahavior of other patrons who dressed like hicks (think state fair) and, in some cases, behaved like louts. Pullman's fine chef and excellent waitstaff deserve better. (The clientele is probably more chic when LU is in session.) read more

The hag who is the hostess sets the tone for a horrible experience. My fish sandwich resembled a fish sandwich from McDonalds. Speaking of McDonalds, I've gotten better customer service there too compared to Pullman's. The only reason I even gave it one star is because it's a cool atmosphere, but you couldn't pay me to go back there. I'm not even picky when it comes to food, but I was actually pissed that I paid $8.99 for a McDonalds fish sandwich. I should have just stayed home and made my own dinner. I could not believe how horrible our waitress was....I'm not going to go on and on about it though because this review would end up being a book. read more

My husband and I went to Pullmans for our Anniversary this past weekend. It was fantastic! The views are a romantic backdrop for a great evening out. Both of us really enjoyed our food. I had the Spicy Spring Shrimp and he had Tenderloin topped with Bleu Cheese. Fabulous! The staff from the front desk, bar, dining room, and management was top notch! Way to go Pullmans! I have to say I was a bit leery of hosting our 25 wedding anniversary (25 people) after speaking with the manager over the phone. He wasn't giving me a warm and fuzzy feeling or offering suggestions. But we really wanted the atmosphere of the back patio/waterfall setting. We're we surprised! They were very accommodating with our beer and pizza theme and our waitress (Aliyah) was exceptional... the beer was cold and the pizza was delicious (Pizzalad was a hit). My only complaint all night was the waterfall wasn't running which was a little disappointing but not a big deal... read more

My daughter went with a group for prom. When the group got there they were short 4 seats and the restaurant would not accommodate for 4 kids. Hostess was very rude to the kids and parents. These 4 kids had to leave and were not able to eat with the group. Reservations were made before hand so the restaurant knew this group was coming. This group came on a bus so the 4 that were not accommodated for had to call for a ride home. This really ruined my daughter's prom and she was very upset. I would not recommend any with an important event to go here. It was just terrible how the staff handled this situation. read more

Decided to give Pullman's a go tonight. Overall, we haven't had a bad experience there, until tonight. Everything was fine until I started eating my steamed broccoli. Found a maggot in there after eating a few pieces. Let our server know and she took it away. No apology, just an "Ok" and away she went. Came back with a "fresh" bowl. Needless to say, my wife and I both lost our appetite. The reaction from the server almost seemed like this is a regular occurrence. Later, she came back and was apologetic about it, letting us know she let her manager know right away. No manager ever came to our table. I'm not one to say there should always be something done, but in this case, I would think something would be done. Nothing was done. Bill came in full. Having been a server before, Im a firm believer that when you go out to eat, us as the consumer know that we are paying a little more for service and the food. In return you expect at least decent service as we had dozens of places to choose from and be treated the way you would treat others if something like this happened. In this case, Pullman's failed. Would not recommend unless you want to pick through your food to ensure no Maggots are in it. read more

This place is horrible. The only redeeming factor is the atmosphere, so not worth coming to this place though. The food was horrible, bland and obviously frozen. Our table of 10 were all unhappy with their meals. We tried the calamari and it was chewy as all hell. The crab cakes were tiny and without taste. They overcooked a steak, they can't tell the difference between medium and well done, obviously. Two ordered the chicken Parmesan, myself included and it was so bland. Noodles, marinara sauce, a tiny piece of tough chicken, and a slice of cheese. Tasteless and highly overpriced. This place tries to pass itself off as a fine dining establishment merely with appearance, the food SUCKS so it all meant nothing to me. The server made excuses which only angered some of us more, she screwed up twice brining the wrong sauce for one of our wraps, or the cook did yet she couldn't catch that. The best tasting thing there was my strawberry lemonade, in which I got four ice cubes in and was room temp. Nobody in appleton seems to have any taste buds, or this town might actually have a great restaurant or two. read more
