WOW oook Fratellos stepped up their game! Got the zucchini sweet potato dish. As a vegetarian I expected it to be average and edible, much like other restaurant vegetarian options - but no! It was so flavorful, vegetables had texture, not over cooked and a lot of interesting flavors and textures throughout the dish. Inventive and smart and choices! Whoever redesigned the menu knows what they are doing. My lunch companion got the mushroom pasta and said it was absolutely incredible. It's over 6 years later and I recently went back for a work outing. My comments all still stand from last time. Clean, gorgeous, nice enough staff, ample parking. The location is fantastic. Food is still mediocre at best, and way over priced. The best thing on the menu is the French Fries. Everything else was just lacking in flavor and/or quantity. We had several items off the menu but nothing was really worth it. 2 meatballs (about an 1.5" in diameter), 2 cherry tomatoes and sauce for $20. Yes I get that they are using "wagyu" beef, but my meatballs at home with less costly ingredients are more tender and have more flavor, and I'm not using Wagyu beef. $14 for maybe 15-20 curds? That's almost a $1 per curd. Luckily I wasn't the one paying for it, I can't see myself returning again. read more

I visited on the weekend and had the Wagyu Beef Meatball starter for my entree. Mine seemed very salty but it was otherwise very good. No one else mentioned their food being too salty so my tastebuds may have been overly sensitive. Our server was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful. I have no complaints. It was a good time of catching up with friends. We had a large party and I called ahead to make reservations. They had no problem separating the checks for everyone. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon with 8 other people and sat in the outdoor patio area. It is self seating on the patio. We came to mainly order appetizers, drinks and to hang out as a family. They have a good selection of both mocktails and cocktails. I got the orange obsession and would recommend it, as it's not overly sweet. We ordered the cheese curds, truffle fries, bruschetta, and the bam bam shrimp. The highlight was the bam bam shrimp with the sauce and the coleslaw. read more

Pricey, but beautiful view and always quite packed. We came for our anniversary and they did give us a complimentary chocolate cake that was very decadent. Food is always good. I've been wanting to try squid ink pasta for a long time and finally got a taste. This venue was perfect for my girlfriend's birthday dinner. Appetizers were amazing got the Kaptn Krunch chicken tenders wich were surprisingly the best thing we had really cool and flavorful. Short rib app was really good too and the potato bacon soup amazing! Really bummed about the Trio diavalo I love diavalo pasta and this was terrible sauce tasted like tomato from a can and was very soupy with bits of chunky tomato couldn't taste the shrimp or steak and wasn't spicy at all. My brother got the miso salmon was very flavorful but the salmon was extremely over cooked like eating an eraser. I've been to Fratellos on a number of occasions now. To start, the location and venue are gorgeous. I love the industrial vibe of the inside and the large windows giving way to their waterfront view. The first time I came here for lunch I got the margarita pizza and it was not my favorite in all honesty. However, upon return to their bar and a couple times for dinner I had a change of heart. The bar staff is very friendly and their drinks are delicious! Dinner has been phenomenal as well. My favorite meal was the portobello mushroom ravioli. So creamy and delectable! Lastly, their white chicken chili is a crowd favorite. Overall, this has turned into one of our go to date night spots and I highly recommend it. read more

Went for an early lunch on my mother's birthday and was seated right away. She wanted a spot by the water so we sat by the window (which was a bit dirty, but unrealistic to keep clean ALL the time). We ordered the cereal covered chicken tenders at recommendation as well as pork belly. Portions for the chicken at the price was disappointing and the chicken itself was serviceable at best. The pork belly was fantastic, the glaze used for it was incredibly sweet which didn't fit my personal preference, but the rest of my family loved it. When the entrees came out, my sister had a gigantic fly in her pasta. Given that this restaurant is by the water, it makes sense - but it was still super freaky. Thankfully the waitress who was serving us took it away and got a new one out. A gentleman I believed to be the manager came to apologize and took it off of the bill. No real complaints as it was handled professionally, but the questionable quality of the food continues into my own dish. I got the Pancetta & Nduja pasta. Since the dish had a lot of meat in it, I was relatively prepared for how salty it would be. However, I was completely taken aback as it was overwhelming to the point where I felt like I was forcing myself to eat it. An absence of water refills made it hard to eat, as I wanted try to finish it to avoid complaining about yet another aspect of the meal. However, my mother mentioned it to the same gentleman from earlier and that dish was removed from the bill as well. In addition to that, they also brought out complimentary desserts for all of us to apologize for the quality of the food. I cannot stress enough that we were treated great given the circumstances - but I just felt an air of awkwardness about all of it. All interactions were professional and incredibly generous, but the environment of it all just made me feel as if I shouldn't have mentioned anything about my own meal. After complaints were made, interactions were brief and sparse. On the way out, we were given a few strange glances from the kitchen staff and it was really awkward. In all, the food was disappointing and not up to my standards for the price, but the actions taken to make up for it were more than enough. My wife and I had dinner here a couple of nights ago while visiting from Arizona. Incredibly clean. Great views and ambience. My wife has Hashimotos Disease and a strong gluten allergy which made Fratellos a prime spot. Their gluten free accommodation was beautiful. My wife ordered the pasta with chicken breast. She thoroughly enjoyed the taste and texture of the gluten free pasta. I went with the salmon BLT which was tasty, light and fresh. Highly recommended! read more

What a great place to dine out. We met six of our friends here on the Fourth of July . The restaurant is in such a beautiful location on the water, it was wonderful! The interior is clean and tidy with an elegant touch. The staff were very helpful and authentically pleasant. Our waiter was on point all night long. He was instrumental in making the evening smooth and enjoyable, especially with a little one along. The food was flavorful and the drinks were cold. I was even able to get a fresh coffee, oh yeah, my favorite. We topped the evening off with a couple delicious dessert items which our waiter described perfectly and effortlessly. We sat on the patio and enjoyed some good cocktails and dinner. The wait staff is always friendly and on top of it. My only complaint was I ordered a caesar salad and they started serving it in individual cups of lettuce. The salad was hard to prepare to eat and just annoying. Go back to chopping the lettuce for us so it's easier to eat please. It is not cheap to eat here, but it does have good food and a wonderful setting. I recommend it. read more

Came here for father's day, was very pleasantly surprised. Everything we got was outstanding. Here's the order: 1. Ceviche -- Fresh and refreshing, the lime sauce had the perfect tang. The sweet potatoes were an unexpected but nice touch. 2. Octopus -- Phenomenal mainly due to its addicting Cambrian chili pomodoro sauce. Had the right savor mixed with spice, get some bread for this one! 3. Bam bam shrimp -- Crispy with a good sauce and slaw. Overall just a solid dish. 4. Blackened Pork Ribeye -- This was awesome. Pork was juicy, succulent and flavorful. Grits that came with it were great too. 5. Chicken Penne a la Vodka -- Very good dish with flavorful tomatoes. Wished we got some parmesan with it. 6. Salmon -- Really good because of the sides it comes with. Create really flavorful bites. 7. Corvina -- Also really good, croquettes are great. Kind of wish their was a tangy sauce to accompany though. 8 Dessert (Tiramisu & Chocolate Cake) -- Both were awesome. We had a girls day in one of the river domes and it was perfect! We made a reservation on a Sunday afternoon and there were 4 domes and only 1 other family in one of them. It was so nice and warm inside on a cold 30 degree day. We were all very comfortable. We got seated and the server came out with drinks and took app and drink orders right away. A very expensive restaurant for Wisconsin. Never heard of calamari for $29 before as an appetizer! Everything is an add-on... Bread charge was six dollars... Entrées are $30 plus but you will pay extra for salads, vegetables, etc... nothing is included with the entrées! We were celebrating a birthday and when the check came I was surprised too see a 10 dollar charge on our bill for the birthday celebration dessert! Came here for our anniversary. It was terribly busy which is understandable, but we were seated by two very large parties-a wedding/bach party and another birthday or something. It was so loud where we were we couldn't even enjoy any sort of conversation outside of small talk. Ridiculous, and it should have been our first clue to cut the evening short, but alas we chose to press on. Our server was pleasant and appropriately attentive. The food was very mediocre. This is not the norm for Fratellos. I believe they were so overwhelmed with the large tables that they just weren't putting the attention into the food that they typically do. The manager came over after we let our server know that one of our dishes was inedible and he was super awkward. We had said the dish was horrid and he approached us like we were going to change our minds? The whole encounter was weird. They took the dish off the bill which was fine. They offered to replace the meal but honestly at this point we were just ready to go. Overall it was just really disappointing. We will definitely mark them off our list for the foreseeable future. Appleton seems to have a rash of restaurants that charge premium prices for subpar delivery. So much potential but they always seem to fall short. read more

The only reason I'm giving this place three stars is because of the view and our waiter. The food sucked my wife had the ravioli which had an off putting flavor. I had the perch which is only served on Saturday. Being served one day a week is the best thing about it. That way people can only be disappointed one day a week. Horrible, that batter was not good it just wasn't good. Aaa ooo look it comes with truffle fries. That comes pre packaged frozen and we cook them, suck. Learn how to make good fries in house and put some truffle oil on them. That's what I thought I was getting. Then to top it off they gave me generic ketchup.
