Ordered delivery from the Glass Nickel on 6/18/18. I ordered a fish sandwich and the "bacon blue" salad. Delivery was within the 30 minute time frame which I was quoted, and the food arrived very hot (sandwich) and cold (the salad). They definitely kept the two temperature foods separated. The Fish sandwich was excellent. Two fried fish patties, cheese, lettuce, tomato, on a toasted long roll with a side of tartar. The fish was light with a crispy batter and not at all greasy. The bread was not soggy and had a bit of chew to it. The tartar sauce was nice and tangy. All told, an excellent sandwich. On to the salad. What can I say? When they say it's a "bacon and blue" salad, they mean "BACON AND BLUE". There was a good deal of fresh, tender spinach but the amount of bacon and blue cheese crumbles was amazing. The star of this salad was the the bacon and blue cheese. The spinach was there as a vehicle to help bring these two to your mouth. The salad includes walnuts, BUT they're plain. The salad would be so much better if these were candied walnuts, to bring a bit of sweetness to the salad, and if they included some cranberries or some other tart fruit, it would help cut through some of the richness/cloying of the bacon and blue cheese. These additions would have made for a bit of a more well-rounded flavor profile for the salad (hope someone from the restaurant reads this). I made the mistake of going with blue-cheese dressing with this salad. If you were to order this salad, I would say go with something like a vinaigrette, again, to help cut through some of the richness of the salad. I can't speak to the dining room, but I can say that you will not be disappointed by the food. read more

Service was incredibly slow. They forgot what we ordered multiple times. Dont try to get the actual drink u order - just settle for whatever makes it to the table (be happy anything made it to the table). Food orders were completely worng too. Took over 30 minutes for chicken strips- and then had the wrong side and dip anyway. Servers - they dont even talk to each other or know their tables. They come to take an order - when a different person already took the order...that never came. Want a bill? Plan to wait...and then you wont get the right one anyway. Great place to get some food if you're staying at the hotel right next door. The pizza is good but not the best. They also forgot to add my jalapeños onto the pizza. But they did offer to give me a side of jalapeños. Not the same when it's baked all together :( I wouldn't recommend the cheese curds here. I feel like the cheese curds lacked flavor. So, Glass Nickel Pizza isn't my favorite pizza in Appleton, but it is still good. Glass Nickel has a lot of specialty pizzas and we had great service for our group of 10. Mistakes happen, It's how you respond to mistakes is what separates a good establishment from a horrible establishment. My first pizza was completely wrong, as I said, mistakes happen. A second pizza was sent out, if was so undercooked that the crust had the consistency of wet toilet paper. This was showed their driver who was oblivious to what a pizza is. John, their general manager refused to be on the side of a good establishment and refused to correct their mistake. This was a large order of over $150.00 to feed a large family, the food that was sent correctly was sub par flavor at best. I requested they add a few plates and napkins because after placing a large, it seemed like a responsible request. They charge per paper plate. An extra $.60 for 12 pates after spending over $150.00. I ordered delivery from here on Day 2 of the COVID-19 "Safer at Home" recommendation. I was charged $11.75, without tax, for the Mediterranean Lasagna. The portion size I received wouldn't be close to sufficient for a child's entree, let alone an adult. The other items on the order were clearly not prepared so that they all came out hot at the same time. The cheese sticks felt rubbery but warm, like microwaved leftover pizza. First, a disclaimer: we ordered on a day that it was snowing, so we knew going in that the pizza wouldn't be delivered super fast at all. We didn't expect, though, for it to take 2 hours. There are many different and crazy specialty pizzas to choose from, or you can create your own. This was my first visit here, and it was hoppin busy for trivia night. Service from waitress Bridget was adequate and not overbearing; e were a large pesky group and she handled it with seeming ease. On Wednesdays for trivia night, happy hour pricing is on the whole time. I had a Titletown Dark Helmet on draft, and it was only 3 bucks. Spotted cow was 4 bucks for a pint. The draft beer selection was fairly modest, but you probably could find something to quench ypur personal tastes. There appeared to be a decent bottleselection, but i did not study the list extensively. With happy hour pricing, Nickel Nuggets were only $1.98...a steal. The doughy parmesan bites co.e with marinara sauce and are a huge serving. Cheap eats! For pizza, we had two selections at our table, the Buffalo Nickel (buffalo chicken style), and thr monthly special Chicken and Waffle. The chicken and waffle was tasty, just lightly sweetened with syrup, a sweet and salty mix. I also thought the buffalo chicken was great. In general, the pizza toppings may run a tad on the greasy-ish side, but what else would you expect? A solid pizza joint. We will be back on another trivia night to try our luck and use the team's 3rd place winnings. read more

Time: Took less than 35 minutes for this to get delivered to our house which is what they had said. Food: My boyfriend enjoyed his pizza, but the one I had was not cooked all the way. You literally could not pick up the inner portion of the pizza because it was a congealed mess. The walnuts on the pizza were burnt, but at least they gave texture to this gooey pizza. Painfully slow service. Came on trivia night, which they host weekly so youd think they could plan accordingly. No bartender, so wait staff had to make their own drinks. Took us 5 min to get seated while it was still empty (we showed up an hour and a half before trivia started so we could eat and be done before the trivia began... That was the plan anyway). After we were seated it took about 15 to 20 minutes before our waitress even acknowledged our existence. at least by that time we knew what appetizer we wanted what main dish and what first round of drinks. We ordered and got our drinks within maybe 10 minutes. And then the wait began. 45 min later still no food, no drink refill, no acknowledgement. Somebody at my table brought empty glasses to the bar to get a refill and one of the waiters filling drinks for his order said he was too busy to help her out, so he came back and sat. I guess that jogged the memory of our waitress and she came with a glass of wine for one of our table members and I was finally able to order my second drink. 55 minutes after getting there, our main dish arrives at the table. Mind you all we ordered were two salads and spaghetti and marinara sauce which literally take 12 minutes to make at the most. When the main dish arrived I asked about the appetizer that never came before the meal and she brought that over, and I did mention that completely defeats the point of an appetizer. no apology whatsoever and she just curtly responded well do you still want it? When we made the order we also ordered extra marinara sauce which did not show up. My meatless pasta had lots of cheese on top which nowhere in the menu was that mentioned, and I'm lactose intolerant so I had to send that back and get one redone with no cheese. Funny thing it only took about 6 minutes to get the replacement, how about that. The place was not more busy than usual but it just seems that every time I come to trivia the service is way too slow. Why they do not plan ahead better for these nights to add an extra wait staff or just put on a Flippin bartender would make a huge difference. so in the end, we got there an hour and a half before trivia started, and all still finishing eating while trivia started. Whoa! Ordered the 14" Deluxe, Regular Crust. No changes. The order was easy to manage and process online. 35-40 min from order to delivery. Pizza was fresh, toppings were well distributed. The pizza dough was chewy and tasty. We will definitely order out again soon! This was our first time doing delivery. My family and I have visited this location on several occasions. We always start with the Nickel Nuggets....cuz YUM! Their menu is extensive. But, we always go for the pizza...cuz (again) YUM! The restaurant has a booth seating area as well as a bar. There is also an area in the restaurant perfect for groups....bench seating, semi private area. During the summer, we love to sit outside in their covered patio area. My only complaint is that their tap beer selection is always pretty standard. I'd love for them to carry more local craft beers. We order delivery from them on a regular basis, but because of family issues, it's been awhile and we put in our usual $80.00 order the other night. We get the 'build your own' pasta with side salads, some chicken wings and a 14" 'build your own' pizza. Enough for the 2 of us for a few days. The pasta was tasteless; hardly any alfredo sauce - just pasta, a few pieces of chicken and about 3 mushrooms, in each order. The side salads were as usual, however they sent wrong dressings. The pizza, which was always the best we've ever had, was lacking in flavor in spite of our usual order of extra toppings. We sent them an email explaining what we received and expected an answer from them, but nothing. We don't know what's changed since the last time we ordered from them, but we won't be ordering again. I was a bit surprised on some of the reviews for Glass Nickel Pizza. We had been there before and really enjoyed it and new we had to try it again. We ordered take out during the Covid-19 crisis. We had a large specialty pizza and thoroughly enjoyed it. The crust was really good, right amount of sauce (we do not like excess sauce) on a pizza. My sister wanted the spinach cheese sticks and I was surprised how good they were. The sticks were a bit cold but I am giving the benefit of the doubt at this time when restaurants in general have new challenges. In fact we enjoyed it so much we are ordering again tonight. They website says they use Boar's Head Meats (the best) so we will try the subs and salads. read more
