Currently sitting here on a snowy night because DoorDash messed up and never delivered my food. The service and kindness I've received from the staff here at GameDay is exemplary. While nothing was their fault, they took care to ensure that I was bringing quality food home at no charge (DD refunded me). Multiple workers checked on me and offered apologies for something that wasn't their fault. I've been a long time customer, but I cannot let this experience go by without a shoutout to the service this place has offered me. Will be back numerous times. read more

Food and atmosphere is great, but calling yourself a "Sports Bar" and not playing the broadcast of the main sporting event of the immediate time in lieu of music is a travesty. Bartenders don't pay attention to you when you need a drink after you have been sitting and waiting for a drink for 20 mins when there is only 10 other people in the bar and 3 bartenders.. One of my top 3 places to go in Appleton when I am in town visiting family. Simple and complete. Service is always great - fast and friendly. Came here on a Saturday night. It was a pretty hopping place and after spending a few hours here I see why. I ordered Moscow Mules to drink and they were made perfectly for being in a plastic cup. I ordered the wings and fries. Wings were some of the best wings I have ever had since moving to Wisconsin. I can't wait to try more flavors. The fries were typical fries and nothing special but they complimented the wings well. The service was fantastic. Even though it was busy I never had to wait to long to order a drink or food. Our server even came outside regularly when we were playing the outdoor games. Speaking of the outdoor games they had a good selection. We played Cornhole (or whatever its called up here where you throw the beanbags and try to get them through the hole on the board) and Testicle Toss (how y'all have a game called Testicle Toss but dont call it Cornhole will always remain a mystery to me :-P) So, to sum it up, if you want a good place to have a drink with friends and still be able to talk to them while listening to live music, this is definitely a place to go. read more

Spacious indoor and outdoor bar with good food. Can't really beat that. My favorite appetizer was the "Bases Loaded" Tator Tots. Tots topped with cheese dip, cheddar, bacon and sour cream. I was with a group of friends and we ended up buying two more dishes after the first. So addictive and so delicious. The Nachos Supreme was decent. It just didn't pack the same flavor as the tots. I guess I have mixed feelings about this place because the outside part is amazing it has a bar sometimes a band, ping pong tables, bean bag toss and even a playground for your littles. Although the inside is not the cleanest and overall the people who work there are not in the best mood and are kinda rude and the inside is definitely not meant for kids, the food is OK but definitely not the best and make sure to wear bug spray in the summer if you are there because the mosquitoes are terrible. Met an out of town coworker last night for some drinks and wings. He had never been here and wanted to sit outside. Our server was very lax when coming around to see if we needed refills on our beers. We waited 30 minutes and had to flag her down to get our bill. Wings were .50¢, lots of sauce but no taste to then. Our bill was $51.65. We only had 5 beers total between the 2 of us, and the food bill was $20.00. Extremely outrageously priced beers - $ 6.00 for a pint of beer? WOW!!!! That's a tad pricy and taking advantage of a customer. Game day is a great place to join a weekly league like volleyball or darts. They have also put in a ton of work renovating the kitchen and upgrading the outdoor patio bar. Fridays and Saturdays in the summer are crazy. While the outdoor patio is great, food and service can take a fair amount of time. They also don't have any tap beer in the outdoor patio bar. I found this to be a bummer. UPDATE: They more recently increased the price of domestic pitchers and changed up their menu. Moved down to two stars because they are overpriced, IMO. Plus charge for adding fries or any side to any sandwich or wrap. read more

This place is amazing! Unbelievable food, appetizers, and drink selection. Also the service was better than any other sports bar I have been to. My wife and I went to watch a game here and it had a great vibe with a great group of customers that were here. We found ourselves meeting new people and staying later than expected because we were having such a good time. I love the outside bar and entertainment area. This is a pretty good place to eat, I like going because of the atmosphere. The people are usually pretty nice, I just think it's kind of stupid to be kicked out after 9:00 pm if you're under 21 (I was 19) even when I said I just wanted some food. I love the out door bar area. It was/is a nice place to go hang out with friends. Comfy chairs, nice tables, fire places, sometimes music, lawn games... All great. But, I Was there on Saturday night, at 11pm, there were two girls tending bar. And neither of them were overly friendly. The short haired lady looked annoyed to be working there at all actually. Zero Amount of joy to be found around her. She made my drink and I gave her my debit card, she said "i'm leaving this open" I thought it was weird to not have a choice to cash out but whatever. When I was leaving for the night, I told the girl I needed to close my tab, she said "we have a $10 minimum on cards" I said i'm sorry, no one told me that, I don't have any cash, and I am leaving..." She rolled her eyes at me and said "you don't have any cash?" Nope. Just As I said....No cash, and i'm leaving. I looked around the bar, I didn't even see a sign that said $10 minimum on cards. She handed me the receipt. And walked away from me. My drink was $4.75. So actually even if I had gotten a second drink I would still not have made the $10 minimum...but whatever. So maybe they can tell people that when they are ordering or make a sign so people can know this is the policy..... Oh, And while you are at it....so that you don't have to yell next time... I really like Game Day, which is the old Checkered Flag. They have a good food and good service. The atmosphere is casual and it is definitely a sports bar with many options of viewing games. They have a good menu with good food. I recommend the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Cold beverages. 3 sand volley ball courts and one outside with a cabana bar outside as well. Here is why they don't get 5 stars. The bathrooms. They are clean but both girls I was with said the paper towel holder was way too close. And complaint 2. Smokers. They stand by the front of the door so you have to walk through their smoke. Yuk! All and all a fun safe place to hang with friends. read more

Stopped in to watch the Brewers game and eat some food. They have 2 areas to drink and eat, one inside and a new addition outside. I sat outside. This area is so modern. Garage doors line the walls so a great warm breeze was felt while I watched the game. I ordered a philly sandwich which was tasty. The fries were crisp and seasoned well. Nice remodel that was needed and must have been done when they were shut down during Covid. Our entrees were great. My kids had the Mac n cheese and quesadilla. My wife got the honey bbq boneless wings and I got the Miller Park burger. Downsides were the Goal line sampler we got. $12 should warrant a decent portion and it did not. Won't be ordering that again. Other downside was their surcharge for using a card to pay. Tip for business, build that need into your cost, don't add it to someone's bill after they give you their card. The table next to us made a stink over it. Gave it 3 stars for these last two issues and we went for dinner but yet they had the music playing like it was midnight in a club. read more

Been going here for about 2 years for football sundays and occasionally the night out with friends. Recently it has gone to shit. Service is ok but food takes a long time. Had to wait over 2 hours for wings and fries, I get it can be busy on packer days but it's deep fried food, shouldn't be that hard. Been other occasions where food has taken quite a bit with not much business. Overall food is ok, service is eh, environment is good for sports. The food was so so at best. We waited over a half an hour for chicken wings and a turkey sandwich. I finally caught the server and she said it was almost done, but they're were cooking my veggies. About ten minutes later it came out. The veggies were clearly microwaved and a tiny bowl to the point a green been was burnt, hardened and stuck to the bottom of the bowl. We ate what we could. She insisted we needed to stay with her there and she even said "what do you want" in a terribly rude tone to him. First time coming to this place to try something different. I will admit, the outdoor space was nice, however the staff has a lot of areas is improvement. Without taking into any consideration of covid-19, the bartenders were acting as if they were 'overwhelmed' with the 15 people at the bar. Absolutely no personality or interaction from the staff (ie: do you need a refill or anything else). It's quite challenging to want to leave a very generous tip and excellent review, but every opportunity I gave the staff to redeem themselves, they further went into a hole. The individual areas that the staff failed at do not define all of the staff, but I will definitely not be coming back for mediocre food and sub par waitstaff. For the price, it's definitely worth trying somewhere else. Unfortunately, I will not be recommending to friends or family. read more

Thursday nights are hopping with plenty of sportsters in the seats. Indoor volleyball teams (at the bar) and indoor soccer teams (from across the street) convene to celebrate victories and agonize over defeats. Table service is moderate to low, so much so that our table just would just go to the bar when a round was needed. I wish the beer selection on the overhead TV screens would go slower so you could actually study the beer list while trying to make your selection...that's frustrating. And, the bartenders don't really seem like the type to be patient while you mull the higher-end beer choices, of which there are a few or more on tap. Very poor service. We started by sitting outside. We were to seat ourselves, which is cool except we talked to like three different waitresses before anybody took our drink order. Then a different gal brought us our menu (she only could find one for the three of us). And then we moved inside bs cause it was cold. The waitress inside got to us quickly but appeared to be very stressed, perhaps because she has too many tables. She was short and borderline rude a times. I the food was average. Well, we had 20 people for my son-in-laws birthday, so I called a few days ahead to make sure there would be room or if I could reserve tables. Well I was able to reserve tables for 50.00. Was told we would have a server designated to our area only, well she was designated to the entire outside patio. My husband never got a refill on his soda, whenever any of the guests would come to our table they wanted to open their own tab. They were told no it's on the table, when I called I told the woman I talked to, that everyone would be paying for their own. Well guess what, our food orders were screwed up, she brought food that wasn't even ordered then just left it at our table, my husbands salad came 20 minutes after we left which means it took 2 hours for a salad because the waitress screwed up the order. Then the kicker is I get a phone call from my older son saying my younger son and his family dined and dashed. I would have known that if she would have given me a detailed bill she just told me what I owed and yes I did tip her 20%. Apparently she didn't put my younger son and his familys food on my bill like I asked her to. but who would have known no one saw a bill. This also happened to someone else in our party she was charged 25.00 for 1 spinach dip appetizer holy hell that's outrageous.
