Terrible service behind the bar. They avoid eye contact and not uncommon to wait 20 minutes for a drink if they are busy. The owner said he was overwhelmed and I asked if he could please just be nice. When I shared my feedback with his husband he stormed away and said we were done here. My family won't be back! The food was good, no complaints there. But it took fifteen minutes just to get our order taken, and after that we had to wait almost 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Meanwhile, two people who had arrived half an hour after we did got their food served to them immediately after we got ours. Someone seriously dropped the ball. No apologies, not a word of explanation. Also, it was very loud, with music blaring and two people making a huge racket playing skee-ball. Neither of us will go back there again. read more

Met some friends out for supper on Saturday 3/7 around 5:30. It wasn't super busy, but the waitstaff was stretched very thin and not able to keep up with the tables. I got the Tenderloin and Stuffed shrimp. I ordered my steak Medium Rare. When it came out it I was cold and barely had grill marks on it. It was so nasty that when you tried to cut it, it was hard to do! The stuffed shrimp were good. She did get me a "replacement" but it came after I was done eating. One friend had a ribeye sandwich, to be done Medium, and looked so white and pale, we thought it was a pork sandwich. Another got what she ordered, it it's hard to mess up a burger. It took out waitress a while to return to out table and see how things were. The staff as a whole didn't smile much and seemed grumpy! Given 2 stars because I know they can do better, but made last nights experience one to forget. read more

Waited over 2 hours from the time we placed our order to get our food. We were told by our waitress (one of the VERY few times we heard from her after we stopped drinking after 4 cocktails each), "your fish is in the fryer right now", Then proceeded to wait another 20 min to get our food, I fry a lot of my own fish at home, didn't realize it took over 20 min to do that, I must have be doing it wrong all these years!! Group of 4, 2 got their meals and started eating after the long wait, they were over 1/2 done by the time the other 2 got their food 10 min later. Fish was good, baked potatoes were ROCK HARD. We've been to Lake Park numerous times before, sometimes wait is acceptable, other times an hour or so...but this time waiting over 2 hours and dining area and bar area were NOT full, was just totally unacceptable. Take out orders going out the door left and right, while we wait 2+ hours?? Amazingly, once we were done eating, the waitress was there multiple times to get us to go boxes, the check, & more or less pressuring us to leave to free up the table to have another group wait 2+ hours. Will NOT be going back. Will take our weekly Friday business to a place that cares about its customers such as The Outpost! The owner at the Outpost would NEVER allow this type of service in his establishment. read more

What a complete let down. The one hour wait was not too big of a deal but the drinks that took 20 minutes to get were flat and weak. Once we were seated a little after an hour, the food (broiled haddock and perch) was luke warm and quite tasteless.... unless you like the taste of grease. My stomach was upset before I even left the restaurant. And to top it off, there was no water at the table or even an offer for any. I hope this review (2017) clears up some of the confusion surrounding the quality of LPP. You'll be pleasantly surprised if you manage your expectations! This place is NOT a Supper Club (go to Mark's Eastside). It is not fancy dining (drive to DePere). It is not a dive bar (drive to Pete's in Oshkosh). This place IS a quirky hangout with a strong local/Hwy 114/Lake Park Rd./Menasha clientele. You will feel out of place the first time you walk in. That's because you are! Everyone there (but you) is super local and has been coming for years. They all know one another and they all know the "drill." You haven't and you don't. Be brave and either saddle up to the bar and order an old-fashioned from a friendly bartender or make your way past the bar and check in at the host station. Once seated in the bar, YOU get your own drinks at the bar. I know, it is kind of weird. Quirky. See what I mean? Who cares! Suck it up and order your own drink! My wife and I went there for a late night dinner on a Friday. I am from WI so I have to have fish. She is fancier and had a chicken sandwich. ;-) Our server was great. The food was just fine. Certainly not the best fish in the Fox Valley (Mark's East Side) but it hit the spot at 9:30 pm. The place was packed with locals hootin and hollerin all having a great time. They all knew each other and were more concerned with having a good time than who's the new couple. It seems sometime in the 90s fish fry went from an all you can eat, cheap, loss leader to get people in the door to $15-$20 for a plate of fish. This place is no different. Prices are in line with what everyone else is charging and the quality is right in line as well. i.e. The fish is overpriced, but it is everywhere else, too! In conclusion, we were pleasantly surprised with our experience. I am the kind of person who lets one negative Yelp review ruin my chances of going. I am glad I didn't let that happen with LPP. We will be back. Not every week, but when a good OF and late night fish is in order, we will definitely be back. Especially when I don't want to get dressed up cuz no one cares! read more

I called in an order for pickup yesterday. 4 piece chicken ALL WHITE. Got home to find order contained a breast, wing (undercooked), thigh and a drumstick. I called today to let them know. I asked who I was speaking with and the female rudely replied, "who are you!" followed by, "What do you want!" I identified myself and said that her reply was rude. I began explaining the reason I was calling and heard her mumbling something nasty and she promptly slammed the phone down on me ! I have NEVER been treated so poorly. I am sure that I was charged extra for all white which I didn't receive for one thing and then treated like crap when I was trying to check about refunding the overcharge. If this is how they treat their customers, they need an attitude adjustment really fast! Their food isn't worth it !!! This place sucks big time If I could give a minus rating I would. I will never recommend this dump to my worst enemy much less a friend. To add insult to this, I even added a tip to the bill before I got home and saw their error. My husband and I just came from Lake Park for dinner. We're very disappointed since this was rated so highly. My husband ordered blue and I ordered perch. Both items were very subpar. My husband's blue gill was cold. Both of our fish had the breading falling off (which indicates that the oil was not hot enough for deep frying) and his fish was also cold. The fish was also very greasy.....ick! In general, the food was rather disgusting. It seemed as though they were concerned about the quantity of people they were serving than the quality of their food. There are many places with MUCH better food. We realize that Friday is a very busy night for fish. However, that is the reason we avoided the "rush". That is NOT an excuse for the poor quality of food. On another level, our name had been "put in" when we arrived (approx 7:30). A waitress took our order at the bar. After at least an hour, I asked the hostess how much longer it maybe. She replied she had no clue as she only dealt with the names on the list. Keep in mind that our name was "put in" when we arrived. Needless to say, an extremely disappointing experience. Very disappointing and quite confusing. We tried Lake Park because we had a coupon for a free pitcher of beer (who wouldn't want that!) and we had heard so much good about the place. Upon entering I put in our name for a table. When I asked the hostess how long the wait was she said " it will be as long as it takes the waitress to get to you" What? Apparently, you don't get a table right away. We stood around a very crowded bar until the waitress came and took our order. Then we waited some more ... and some more. Finally, when our food was ready they put us at a table in a dining room where only two other tables were in use so I'm not sure why we couldn't sit down. We had to get our own drinks from the bar as well. Our waitress was nice enough but the whole process is strange. The menu is VERY limited on a Friday night. They have a lot of fish - which I don't eat - but not much else. I had my heart set on a burger but they don't serve burgers on Fridays. Again, what?? Lake Park has been around for quite a while and I absolutely love their fish fry. It's a good spot to grab a beer and a bite. It's unfortunate they havent stuck any money into it since building. The bar could definitely use some work, like barstools with backs. Sometimes the waitresses arent as friendly but I still enjoy coming in when I visit. read more

We went there last night for fish fry. It was apparently ranked best fish fry in the Valley in 2011, but I don't agree w/that ranking. I mean, it wasn't awful, but it wasn't the best I've had in the area, by far. I highly recommend Old Bavarian's fish fry over this one. The fish was overly greasy and my husband's 4 pieces were pretty small, noticeably smaller than mine. The coleslaw was great, and I'm pretty picky about coleslaw. The tartar sauce was ok, but we didn't get any lemons, which was a bummer because lemon is my favorite fish fry condiment. We both opted for the Icelandic Haddock, beer-battered, and it didn't seem like it was seasoned at all, just very greasy and bland. But anyway, like I said, it wasn't awful, just not great, and definitely didn't meet my expectations for "Best of the Valley." The service was really good, but we sat at the bar because there weren't any tables available, so that wasn't an ideal situation for eating an actual meal. It wasn't packed, but there were groups of people sitting at most of the tables drinking (not eating), which is fair, because it's a bar, but then there were several otherwise vacant tables where it seemed people were just setting their stuff, using up space that could have been put to better use since they were still serving dinner. I'd go back to the place maybe for a Packer game or night out, because the ambiance was nice and the staff was great (besides one guy who seemed to be a dishwasher who was slamming stuff around and stomping like he hated the world, but hey, we all have bad days, right?) but based on this experience I wouldn't go back for fish fry or recommend it to friends for fish fry. read more

Seems unwarranted as the dining room was sparsely occupied for the duration of our stay. After this long and confusing wait, we were escorted to our table with our orders already there waiting for us. "Good luck with that." This is the title of this post. My husband and I have never been more insulted in our lives. We came in on St Patrick's day to have a couple beers and some shots of Jameson. After ordering two beers and two shots, we witnessed a guy behind the bar point at us and sarcastically say "Good luck with that." We asked the bartender who he was, and he was the OWNER of the bar. Dear Owner of Lake Park Pub, If you are doing so well off that you can insult customers to the point of NEVER returning to your establishment, good for you. I can't wait to see the CLOSED sign outside of your pub. Dear future patrons of Lake Park Pub, Beware... If you don't fit the "type" of person that this owner wants to earn money from, you can expect to be insulted and treated like an outcast. STAY AWAY!!! For the record, we left our regular bar to stop into your establishment tonight... And that is the bar that we are known to spend between $60 and $300 a week. Best Fish Fry in the Valley! I have been trying as many fish frys as I could, searching for that quality place. Too often we find soggy, oily, rectangular fried fish. Not here! The fish is flaky, crispy and superb! (Also shaped like real pieces of meat) My mother-in-law also tried the baked fish and ate the entire thing, which she rarely does. Plan on waiting for a table, it is usually pretty busy. But SOOOO worth it! read more

This was possible the worst service I have had in a long time. My broiled haddock came submersed in a bowl of butter. For some that may be perfect for but not when you are trying to be somewhat health conscious. It was the fishiest pearch and haddock we have had in a long time. I will never be back. Best fish fry I've had in the area. Definitely a bar atmosphere, so be prepared for that. The food and drinks are reasonably priced and the drinks are served promptly. I usually go for the Friday fish, which is quite busy. As a result, you put your name in with the host/hostess and eventually a waitress will come and take your order. They'll seat you in the dining area when your food is ready (or you can eat at a bar table, as we usually do). Try the potato puffs- they're awesome! I can only speak for the Friday fish but it is amazing. always fresh, hot and not soggy. Always moves pretty fast although they fill up fast and it pays to either get there early or be ready to enjoy your Friday and have a cocktail in the bar while you wait for a table. read more
