The food, however, very subpar. First was the Flat Iron Steak Sandwich. Basically, a French Dip. Looked promising but the steak was cut thick and very tough. Flavor was fine but chewy. Next was the Pig & Fig sandwich. Reports were good and positive. Last was the special "Fresh Lake Michigan Perch". This was not good. It was over cooked and tasted like it was fried in last week's oil. One bite was enough. Burnt taste and very dry. Our server was very apologetic, offered something else and took it off our bill. There are plenty of other places on Main Street. I'd try somewhere else. BTW - Dockside Tavern, nearby, was very cool & good. All with a lakefront view.

They do have several tables throughout the restaurant/bar as well but they were all packed while we were in there. The bathrooms were clean. Service: Really nice bartender/waitress. She was quick to make recommendations and served up a WICKEDLY good bloody mary. It took us about 40 minutes to get our food after ordering so this is not somewhere to go if you are on a time crunch. Food: Yum yum yum! I had the reuben sandwich and minus the bread getting soggy on one side it was delicious. I also tried their potato salad and their reuben chowder. Everything was a homerun and I was in a food coma for the rest of the day and decided to skip dinner. I can't wait to come back here. I wish it was closer to home so I could kick back a couple of beers and just hang out and enjoy the vibes, but it'll be worth the drive when we do go just because of the food and staff.

It's really worth the wait though, the fish is cooked perfectly. The rum and coke I had seemed watered down, but I mentioned it to the bartender and she fixed it right away. Drinks and drink menu were great. The steak frites were awesome. I was impressed at how tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked they were. It was a fair portion for the price. The roasted Brussel sprouts were covered, literally smothered in bacon bits and feta. The sprouts were fried beyond crispy. If you like your sprouts super charred and buried under bacon, this dish is for you. I, however, would have preferred my sprouts less burnt and far less toppings. The French dip was shockingly NOT a salt bomb - which was a pleasant surprise. It's the first time I've had a French dip where I actually wanted to dip it in the side of au jus to give it a flavor bump. The real gem is Tanner's amazing selection of sides to choose from - you can swap in a twice baked potato, kettle chips with French onion dip, steamed broccoli, grilled asparagus or potato salad! Any other place would up-charge but Tanner's doesn't. I chose grilled asparagus and appreciated the separate packaging so the sandwich didn't get soggy. I would come back and try other dishes as the menu is quite large.
