We always go to the Ruby Owl when we are in town for our annual conference. It's amazing how they always accommodate all of us, often without warning! It's the closest restaurant to the convention center so everyone happens to walk there for our lunch and we fill the place up and are all back in time for the afternoon session. Great food, burger was a little too done though when I asked for medium rare. Great beer selection as well. I love the sun drop! Went to dinner here during Oshkosh airventure airshow. We had a :20 minute wait to get a table. We were on the tail end of the dinner rush. Waitress was nice, but the service was slow. Drinks took a good while to come out, dinner was about an hour. Tables were clearing as we waited, so I felt that the kitchen wasn't slammed. Overall I was satisfied with our experience. It did take awhile to get some waters and be acknowledged. And a couple times it looked like our waitress was standing around and talking to other coworkers while we waited for refills or to go containers. But she was nice. The food was a little on the pricey side but it all tastes good. The serving of avocado fries were generous. They were tasty but after a few I was over it. Glad I tried them but not sure I'd get them again. The cheese curds were tasty. The Nashville hot Cobb salad was really good. My youngest was not a fan of the chicken tenders. But my oldest devoured his. My youngest daughter apparently doesn't like arugula. She had got the steak and arugula salad. It looked really good though and my husband ended up eating it. First time going to Ruby Owl. I got the Never Mid Burger, the burger had good taste do wish there was more arugula and crispy onions. The Server was pleasant and was quick with answers and food delivery. The cocktails we got were wonderful and the cheese curds were something I wish I had and endless supply of, so good. We were going to go up to the bar and order because we hadn't seen someone in like 15 min but there wasn't anyone behind the bar and the bar was full. Eventually our waiter showed up. He was nice but obviously stressed. I'm not sure they had enough staff for a Sunday afternoon. Once we placed our food order it took almost an hour to get our food. We arrived for a planned reservation, 22 people. The restaurant is a bit small, however, they were ready for us, and they had adequate room. The food was absolutely awesome. Everyone enjoyed it and commented. We ordered a variety of items, the appetizers came quick, and for the fact that we had 22 meals, the food came very quickly. I had a burger, fries and coleslaw. All of it was among the very best that I've ever had. I didn't plan on eating all of it, I ate all of it. My wife had a cheese, grilled cheese sandwich. She said that it was unique and the tastiest grilled cheese sandwich she had ever had. Came here for some lunch before heading up to Central Waters for their anniversary party. We were told this was the best place for burgers and we were not steered wrong! Ok, I can't back here 4 times in 3 days. I'm not sure how I could give any one place a stronger recommendation. I had the butternut squash salad, had to come back the next day and have it again. In later visits I have had the Buddha Bowl and the Brussels Sprout salad. Flavors complex, salad carefully crafted and presented - just awesome. On the Brussel Sprout salad I just had a added chicken too when I chose to not add anything before. Even that add on was nicely marinated and dry. A friend I was with had the avocado fries. The breading on these and the sriracha aioli dipping sauce is just so good. I was expecting a fried mess, or at least just a batter like I get on fried mushrooms or the like. Not at all here. This breading is good by itself, and clearly not a Sysco bought in bulk offering. Love this place and am sad I don't live in Oshkosh! read more

Went here on a Thursday night to grab food before a Packers Game. I'm happy we got there kind of early to get a spot at the bar because the place got pretty busy. It had a very good night game atmosphere. I was super excited to see that they had Bull Falls beer on tap, so that had to happen. We also ordered the Szechuan Chicken Sandwich with sweet potato waffle fries and the Bourbon BBQ Pulled Pork with cheesecurds. There is an upcharge for the sides per usual, but definitely worth it to try them. Sweet potato waffle fries is my ideal fry, and these lived up to expectations. They were crisp, yet soft in the inside. Loved them! The cheesecurds were also pretty good, with a long cheese pull and the ranch was nice and thin for dipping. Both sandwiches were really tasty, but also pretty messy. We were thankful for the extra napkins that they gave us. The chicken sandwich had a very light breading, but also had a nice crunch. It was perfect for sharing because they cut it in half and had the right balance of sweet to savory. The bun was also clutch to absorb all of the juices from the sandwich. The pulled pork was very thinly shredded and fell out all around the bun. You definitely get your value on this sandwich! The creamy coleslaw paired nicely with the sweet and salty of the pork. Also, as the pork fell out of the sandwich, it was nice that the held a texture and consistency so that you could pack it together back in the sandwich. It was very satisfying. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked everything. It was much better food than we were expecting for a bar atmosphere and the staff was super friendly. This is definitely going to be added to the list of places to stop at in Oshkosh! read more

We tried this place on a whim as we were in town and had a taste for a good pub burger. It was honestly phenomenal. I had a triple smoke burger which was topped with smoked gouda, bacon, and ancho guacamole. It was really well balanced. Smoked gouda can be overpowering but the other flavors played really well with it. My partner opted for the roasted Brussels sprouts salad and declared it was one of the best salads she's had out. I tried some and had to agree. A generous pile of spinach was topped with warm roasted Brussels sprouts, roasted leeks, bacon, and hazelnuts. It had a really tasty vinaigrette. The service and atmosphere were also great. Our server Steve L was personable and gave us just the right amount of attention.
