My Husband's mother passed away in April and we needed a place for the Celebration of life. My husband checked the website for Greystone Ale house and attempted to use the online reservation for a large party. Every April single date appeared to be booked so he called the restaurant. He spoke with a staff member and asked if the restaurant was completely booked. Staff said no, the app was not working. My husband outlined what he wanted and thought he was set. No one called to confirm or to set up the menu. We stopped in person to see the space and confirm the reservation. We sat at the bar and asked for the manager. We spoke with a manager and were told there was an incomplete reservation that nobody followed up on, with only a first name and no number. She then grabbed a lap top and asked the customer next to my husband to move over and squished her way between the two. Of course there was no privacy with the arrangement plans. The room we were to rent was unoccupied and would have been more private and just a few steps away. There were multiple issues the day of the event. We did not have a dedicated server. A group of 25 people should have a server dedicated to that group only, since the bill was over $800 with a mandatory 18% tip. The server did not remove drink glasses from the table or ask if family needed another drink. Family had go to the bar to get another drink. The food was served buffet style. We were missing barbecue sauces for the meat that was dry. We used the bake beans as barque sauce. We were also missing the coleslaw and potato salad. After a while the family began complaining that the food wasn't hot. Server had been absent some time so we went out looking for her and found that she was working other tables. We sought out the manager and told her of the complaints and the servers absence. Most everyone was done eating the lukewarm BBQ food without BBQ sauce when the server came in apologizing for not reading the menu for the party and the missing food. She brought in the BBQ sauces and left without removing dishes on the tables or offering to get more drinks. The manager brought in potato salad but the coleslaw was never brought even though I asked as she was leaving the room. Our recommendation to anybody seeking a venue for a party or group, do not use this one. read more

My wife and I went here for lunch. We shared the prime rib sandwich and an order of onion rings. It was a huge portion of prime rib that was perfectly cooked to order and probably the best onion rings I have ever had. We enjoyed a couple of beers. Mine was a spotted cow on draft served in a frosted glass. My wife had a Leinenkugel Summer Shandy served in a bottle. Both beers were as cold as they could be. The service was excellent, even though they seem to be a bit shorthanded. The waitress was doing double duty taking orders and going behind the bar to get beers. An airy roomy bar/restaurant with plenty of windows, which you may know is my weakness so I probably give a star for that alone. You like beer. They got beer and plenty of changing brands. We were quickly seated and handed the food menu. I asked for a beer menu and the server pointed to the QR Code on the table. I did the Boomer explanation I just don't like those, so they came back with tablets and the beer menu laid out and probably a cute ..."OK Boomer", grin. I picked the Beermosa Berliner Weiss which looked like a tall fresh glass of orange juice but it did have the right amount of sour kick. Nice selection of food, mostly American style menu with nothing too fancy. The Cuban Pulled Pork was thick and juicy. The big surprise was the homemade chips with their homemade dip. Looks like kettle chips but far better, this is a great thing they created and I recommend that as a choice with beer or whatever you order. We ordered for take out on a Tuesday at 11:30am. The good was ready on time but the quality was not what we expected. The sweet potato fries were soggy and burned on the edges, and the pile was small. The patty melt was good. My daughter ordered a chicken sandwich with tots. They were over cooked and so crispy they couldn't be eaten. Unfortunately we seem to have at least one meal that is not good each time we order from Graystone. Usually I think Yelp does a good job rating a place. However I was a little taken back that Graystone was a 3 star place. The service was good. The food was good and the portions were generous. I think if anything that may want to stop up charging for extra side and just raise the prices a little. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip. It was very very good. Served in a bread bowl and with vegetables. Because if all these carbs I got the side salad which was a $1.50 up charge but the salad was a good size side salad. I was pleasantly surprised. I also got the cali Turkey wrap. It was good with a lot of vegetables. It was what I needed. I saw a pic on Yelp of a turkey panini, I would have loved that but the wrap was good. I brought half home. All in all, I wouldn't drive across town to go here but if I'm in the area, it's a good place to stop for a beer and meal. read more

I've tried it several times, and I just can't recommend this place. The food has gotten worse. At least they weren't playing the terrible music/not-music. Most recent experience: Server asks me to use the QR code for the draft beers, but the code is so worn out I have to scan one on a different table after she walks away. I go through the selections, pick a beer and I'm told that one is no longer on there when she comes back. The reason? The beers aren't always up to date (on the list I was asked to use). Good thing I used the QR. Server advised that the boneless wings were a "good product", but they were mostly bread. The spicy Thai sauce was ok. So...breading dipped in ok Spicy Thai sauce. Mmm? My kid specifically asked that we go try a pizza since we hit the Dollar Tree nearby. Terrible pizza. Over-cooked crust. Bad sauce. Even dipping bites in marinara didn't help much. The manager took the pizza off our bill, so that was appreciated. Maybe I should've tried a burger again. Skip the Graystone Ale House and just go lick the floor at Dollar Tree. read more

Our family came here after my uncle's funeral service. It's a nice, large space with a lot of room and it's nice and bright with lots of large windows. They gave us an entire section of the restaurant which was lovely because we were able to catch up with one another and visit. We shared a slew of appetizers. The cheese curds and the onion rings were fantastic. For lunch I ordered a BYO burger - bacon, cheese, BBQ, and pickles. Nothing out of the ordinary. :) My husband ordered the poutine because they use tots instead of fries and that man is all about the tots lately. The menu has burgers and sandwiches with a few dinner selections. Our group ordered a wide variety and everyone seemed very happy -- I didn't hear any complaints. Our server was great. She knew the very extensive beer menu well and helped my husband find a hoppy IPA. She checked back with us frequently and made sure we had everything we needed. This place is a favorite of ours. They have a large craft beer selection, bottled and on tap. We follow them on Untapped and stop in when new fun beers are put on tap. The food is good too. Stopped by for an early supper. Hostess did not even say hello when we entered. She finally acknowledged our presence after appearing like she did not know what to do. I said we need seating for 2. She looked around and looked around then finally brought us to our table. No further words spoken from her like your server will be right with you or is this table okay. From the person who answered the phone and took our order, who was so polite and accommodating...to our Delivery Driver, Wally, who was just great....and then to the Delicious Food! We ordered the Lake Perch Dinners and Bruschetta, and both were absolutely Amazing! My Mom kept saying....this is the Best Perch I have ever had! And the best French Fries, and the best Cole Slaw! And this was food that was delivered....and it was that good! The Bruschetta is "out of bounds" good, and I have had a lot of Bruschetta at various restaurants! Hats Off to Graystone Ale House!!!! I also guess the prices are due to being in De Pere. But with that being said theres a Burger King down the road. A Buffalo Wild Wings if you want coffee. Graystone is a nice place for lunch or dinner, they have a great menu with a good selection but not an overwhelming selection so you can't make up your mind. The layered nachos are on the appetizer menu but are a meal unless you order them to share. The Cali turkey panini is my favorite sandwich and they also have great pizza, instead of building your own I recommend the Rodeo. Graystone also has a great beer selection and the have a monthly featured brewery so you can find something different from very month. Today I was excited to find Deschutes is the featured brewery for the month and my favorite beer, Fresh Squeezed IPA on tap. Every time I go there the service is great, it has a nice atmosphere and even though they aren't a sports bar per say, there are plenty of televisions around the entire bar so it's a great place to watch a game. read more

Was severely overcooked and very small. Will probably not eat there again, but have a good drink selection. Graystone is a staple for when we want to dine somewhere close to home (De Pere) and don't feel like driving around town for dinner. Always has plenty selections of beer, and the menu is extensive enough that everyone can order something they'll like. I'm a fan of a few of their salads - the Cranberry Pecan is great for when you're craving something a little on the sweeter side! The pecans are candied, and the raspberry vinaigrette is sweet but tart at the same time. But the Oriental Salad steals the show for me every time! There's so much that goes into it, and that's what I love about it. It's got Thai chili marinated chicken breast, shredded cabbage, carrots, cilantro, sesame seeds, red peppers, green onion, mandarin oranges, and sriracha peanuts, all tossed with a soy ginger dressing. MAN it is good. It reminds me a bit of Panera's Thai with Chicken salad, but a lot spicier. The spice comes from the peanuts, so stay away from the peanuts if you don't like as much spiciness! I've had other things from Graystone, like their Chicken Pesto Sandwich, which is delicious, some of their different pizzas (love the crust), and their salmon for Friday Fish Fry -- yum.
