First time at the brewery for a speed dating event, and while the event itself was good, the customer service left something to be desired. When I first arrived, I approached who I thought was the host, but she didn't look up or acknowledge me until I said hello. Since it was my first time there and the brewery was crowded with people for the event, I wasn't sure where to go. She directed me to the check-in table after I said I was there for the event. It was held in their upstairs loft area. The space upstairs was really nice, and overall I enjoyed the event. Afterward, I ordered a beer and some food downstairs at the bar. When I mentioned that I was upstairs, the bartender told me there was no server upstairs and that they would have to find me. I completely understand needing me to stay downstairs, but the way it was communicated came across as unnecessarily rude and like I was inconveniencing him. A simple, "We don't have a server upstairs, so could you please stay down here so we can bring you your food?" would have been much more pleasant. Overall, the food was tasty and the beer great (I had the pesto fries and the Garten Party IPA), the event fun, but the interactions with the staff made the experience less welcoming than it could have been. I'd love to come back to check out their outside patio with live music. read more

Such a fun spot! The vibe is cozy and nostalgic--brick walls, a fireplace, lots of wood, big coffee and cocktail bars. I had the Dousman Burger (half-pound, perfectly cooked, super flavorful), their blueberry sour beer (so good!), and the Salty Donkey cocktail--salted caramel whiskey and an apple pie whiskey combo that had me hooked. Our server even made the cocktail right at the bar, which was awesome. My friend got the same burger and a drip coffee, which he said was fresh and top-notch. The place has a fun twist: they encourage you to get off your phone with a game called Phone Jail. We successfully "jailed" our phones and got free fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies--so clever! If i could give the waitress 0 stars I would. Im currently writing this as the waitress on the patio has now served 3 people that have sat after me. Ive been sitting here for about 30 min just waiting. The patio says that we can seat ourselves. All the other people who sat after me and got their orders taken have sat themselves. This waitress wont look at me or anything. I have never been treated with such little respect at a place. And as im writing this the waitress was bragging about how she takes care of the outside area by herself, there are currently 5 tables with the biggest having 7 people every other table has 2 to 3 she obviously cant handle this much and needs to be trained again. read more

We were in town for a wedding, so the day before, we took ourselves on a little brewery tour of Green Bay...and this was one of our favorites! We parked at a nearby lot and walked over to this spot, but there is an adjacent lot! We sat outside next to one of the firepits, but the interior had plenty of character, with exposed brick and unique rooms for various size parties! Our servers were tremendous, as we had a few questions before landing on our choices for the night! We both had the Coffee Ale, which was on nitro! It was perfectly light, smooth, and just enough coffee for those fans of the flavor! I'd definitely come back for this one! We also started with the cheese curds, which were perfectly snackable and their Bloody Mary aioli was such an unique take on the classic! The REAL star of the show, though, was the burger!! I had the Dousman Street burger, which included a charred (in a good way) burger, aioli, lettuce, tomato, cheese. Now, I've never said this before about a burger, but my favorite part was the BUN! They get their buns from a local bakery and I was speechless eating that perfect thing! Soft, chewy, perfectly baked...it soaked up the juices from the burger without falling apart. For something that is usually a mediocre background dancer at best, this bun is a reason to RUN back to Copper State! Can't recommend enough! read more

I had a really fun experience at this place. Lots of great beers to choose from. My son and I tasted a few different beers while enjoying the outside patio. What added to the atmosphere was the farmer's market adjacent to the building. We were lucky enough to be there on a Wednesday evening where the town had blocked off the entire street for pedestrian traffic. The crowd was a good size, but not too overwhelming. And there were lots of food trucks lined up with different offerings ... and some great live music to take the whole experience to the next level. read more

I had the Turkey Melt in my mouth (which quite literally the name) and the loaded fries & yes, they were as fresh and flavorful as they sound. My husband went for the Truffle Shuffle Burger with veggies, and it was a total hit rich, savory, and perfectly cooked. We had a girls day at Copper State, and ending up spending our whole afternoon there! First off the service we had is why we stayed. Stacy was AMAZING! She gave great recommendations. The cheese curds and pub pretzel were great appetizers. The Bloody Mary aioli for the cheese curds was unique, but great flavor. The burgers, mac and cheese and turkey melt were all great entrees. The We Drink At Dawn! (beermosa radler), Platinum Blonde Coffee Cream Ale, and Stilt Stepper (NE IPA) were all tasty. We sat at the bar on a Friday night. The bartender was very busy and seemed stressed. We had to wait a long time to order and I requested water multiple times before being served it. We ordered some flight sized beers to try. Most of their beers are sours. We started with the cheese curds. They weren't squeaky and just tasted like fried cheese sticks. I visited Green Bay for the day and stopped to have lunch and beers at Copper State. The bar is super cool and warm and welcoming. The bartender is fantastic! He's local and kind and was AMAZING! I wish I could remember his name but he made the experience. He was patient and knowledgeable about the beers and other alcohol they had to offer. He stocks their liquor portion too so he's super helpful if you're maybe not feeling beer. Recommended items off the menu and all of them were great. The brussel sprouts were to die for! So crispy and flavorful. I'd go back just for these. The Philly cheesesteak was also very very good! The cheese curds have a slightly different breading than what I'm used to, but they were really good with a Bloody Mary dip that will surprise you (in a good way lol). The beers were crisp and fresh. There's also a large variety for everyone's tastebuds. And if you don't like beer they have an entire liquor selection as well as wine. read more

Great place for beer, but super disappointed in the food. Visited on Saturday, August 2 for lunch and ordered two beers, the peach salad and the "Brewben" sandwich. The nitro beers were delicious and the salad super good. The sandwich, however, was so disappointing. See the picture below. There was very little meat on this sandwich and the side of macaroni was a complete joke. It was supposed to be beer mac & cheese, and we're convinced it was Kraft box Mac & cheese. I went straight to the bar as I was just in for some beer. I was beyond pleasantly surprised to discover two things. One is that the woman behind the "bat," Alicia, is freaking amazing. As other employees came by to pick up drinks, I noticed they seemed pretty cool too, however, Alicia is the BEST! She was so attentive and friendly. Made me feel at home immediately. Continued giving amazing service and kindness. I decided to stay instead of moving on to my planned next destination of Irish Temper and possibly Titletown. I was happy where I was at and with so many choices to drink. This brings up the other pleasant surprise. The offerings of drinks besides beer was very surprising, in the best way. Most breweries I have been to don't have "bar" offerings. To top it off, they had a bourbon that is hard to find and it was a fair price (pappy- rip van Winkle 10 yr). Great experience. Review is for the Cob salad. I appreciate that Copper State is attempting to put their own spin on the Cob, but a couple things ruined it for me. -Guacamole, instead of customary avocado chunks. The consistency of the guac doesn't align with a salad, was off putting to me... and I love guac! -Shredded cheddar cheese, instead of the customary blue cheese. Blue cheese is a key element in a cob salad. To me, the cheddar cheese was a downgrade, made the entire salad feel more like a 70s "chef salad" than a cob. read more

TERRIBLY SMALL PORTIONS! Firstly, I would like to note that the beer was actually pretty dang good and each of the different flavors that we tried in our flight was delicious. They tasted exactly like what they claimed to be flavored like. However, I do think that the pricing system on the flights is kind of stupid and it is ridiculous to pay so much for a tiny glass of beer. I was happy up until the food came. My Philly cheese was extremely disappointingly small (5 bites) and the mac & cheese was worse than box craft mac & cheese that my girlfriend made yesterday. I had one bite of my girlfriend's cheeseburger, and I'd say it was more delicious than my entire meal. What is this sysco crap that I am being fed for an overpriced rate. I saw something that said low cost, Copper State Brewing is not low cost. Not a bad place for food and drink, but it's gonna cost you. Seems they are trying to get Hinterland prices for okay food. Ironically this is in Hinterland's old building, before they were backed by the Packers. It was nice back then. In short, it's another place overcharging for mediocre service/food/drink. Visiting family and decided this would be a great dinner place for the group. On a Saturday night there was a brief wait for a table for 8 as college football beamed on the TVs. They had some great craft beers, the chocolate, coffee, peanut butter porter was incredible. My wife was feeling hoppy and got the stilt stepper IPA and it was solid. They have a full bar (in WI this isn't news) and everyone found their gear. They had several good burger options, pizza to share and some nicer entrees like shrimp n grits, scallops, pork chops and steaks. Also a few fresh, healthy options also and gluten free. We got the cheese curds appetizer to share and they were the great- not greasy and delicious. We decided on a truffle shuffle burger, margerita pizza, power bowl and some apple burger. Everything came out great. We had ordered the burgers medium. They came out a touch over rare, but we aren't complainers and we mowed down the mooing patties. Just be warned you may let them undercook burgers without asking. Overall very good and the service was relaxed. Great place to catch a game and lunch or dinner. We've been here twice and both times had a fun experience. The ambiance is like old time pub and very well done. The restaurant is right on the river, but we've only been there in the winter time, so we've got to go back in the summer some time. The wait staff are friendly and accommodating. It's a mini-brewery, but kids seem to enjoy it too. The food is great and I think the prices are very reasonable. I don't think they take reservations, so get there early. read more

I have now been to Copper State Brewing twice during my travels and it has absolutely won my heart and tastebuds! We stumbled upon Copper State Brewery on a drive to Dorr County last summer and feel in love. As a result, when I was in town for work, I had to stop by again. My positive feelings were only increased! First of all, the food is so delicious and hearty. I had the Truffle Shuffle Burger with fries and loved every bite. The fries were so flavorful, crispy, and yum! The burger was incredibly fresh, umami, and decadent. I'm drooling just thinking about it. Second of all, the beer is phenomenal. Being from Chicago, I come across a lot of good beer. Copper State stands in with the best! Without my spouse this time, I cannot speak to his love for the IPA variety (which he loved), but I can speak to the sours, porters, and stouts. I loved all of the beers in my flight, but two really stuck out. A new drink that made my palate happy was the Subliminal Messages Key Lime beer. It. Was. So. Good. Perfectly flavorful with key lime while also managing to be puckering sour and dry. YUM! But, the number one beer, our favorite both when we visited in the past and when I visited this time, is the Chocolate Coffee Peanut Butter Porter. It is divine. Decadent. Delicious. Sweet. But not too swift. Coffee bitterness is present. Pure deliciousness. I had to get a 4 pack to go. All this to say, whenever we are in the area, stopping at Copper State Brewing is a must.
