I was skeptical, ordering the baked salmon dinner and let me tell you that was the best salmon I've ever had. i'm very critical when it comes to how salmon is prepared, but I absolutely loved it with the honey mustard topping. The service was wonderful even though we caused some delays of our own and she was very gracious about it. Whelp here is my review take it or leave it, we ordered 5 dinners, one of the dinners took longer to prepare and father than stager start the food they just cooked it all at once so 4 of us got our food and the last dish took them 45 minutes longer so we were all done eating before the last person got their food. Sorry that's not acceptable. Next the waitress just disappeared so people weren't getting drinks, we asked for salt, ketchup, and tarter sauce which took another 20 minutes and then when we went to pay the waitress got it all wrong and we ended up paying for a meal we didn't order.. food quality was a 6.5/10 nothing was seasoned and semi cold when it came out. Waverly Beach is a great spot with a fantastic lakeside vibe. I ordered the Captain Burger, which was solid and hit the spot, and enjoyed a couple of Busch Lights during happy hour--great deal! The location is definitely the highlight here. The view of the lake creates a relaxing atmosphere that's perfect for kicking back with good food and drinks. This seemed like such a fun spot to check out during the summer with their lakeside patio equipped with a tiki bar and live music. Located right on Lake Winnebago, Waverly Beach is in prime location to show up by boat as well. In the past I had split a pepperoni pizza here and have also tried their Margherita flatbread. I felt as though both the pizza and flatbread were very oily/greasy. On one occasion we were told to seat ourselves upon arrival, but were ignored at our table for a good 15 minutes while we watched a handful of servers and staff at the bar right by us chatting before someone finally came over. I wanted to give this place another try since it has such a cool location and the vibes outside are so fun. However, Waverly's food has consistently been a flop for me and their service is hit or miss. After trying their Brisket Mac & Cheese during our most recent visit I knew I wouldn't be returning. I didn't even end up finishing my meal. The flavor combination was just not right and the cheese was a big grease pool. Their fried cheese curds were even lackluster. I'm almost positive they were reheated. Maybe I'm picking the wrong items on the menu here but after giving Waverly Beach three chances, they've officially struck out for me. I was at Waverly Friday afternoon at their tiki bar. I ordered food and what I got could barely be called food. It was a Bang Bang Shrimp Wrap. The shrimp tasted like it was about to turn, the rest of the ingredients were just as bad. Very bland. Even the tator tots were bad. How do you mess up tator tots?? They tasted like they were cooked in oil that needed changing. This was the third time I have eaten there since the Anduzzi's took the place over and it was terrible every time. It's a beautiful place but looks aren't everything. They need to put some money toward the decent chef because their food is bad! read more

When brought up to the manager he did nothing about it at all besides say it's written on the menu. We did not see it on the menu. Very sneaky way to make extra money. BEE prepared! I had a tiki-rific time there! I watched a wedding from my spot from afar, which was a lovely sight against the lake's rhythm. The bar buzzed with bees, a bit of a sting in my comfort zone due to my allergy, but I still enjoyed the tiki bar. Due to bees and flies crawling among the limes, lemons, and olives, I avoided drinking with drink garnishes. Despite that, the drinks flowed, the staff was friendly, and I am all set to try the food next time inside. Even with the bees, it was a tropical paradise in Wisconsin! We used to enjoy going to Waverly. Food was never the best but was OK. We just ate there tonight as it was a beautiful day to sit by the water. The food however was quite bad. I had fried shrimp and the breading was so thick and hard, it was hard to taste the shrimp. My wife had a pasta dish that was so full of garlic and hard bacon, that it was hard for her to eat it. And this being Wisconsin, you would expect great cheese curds. The curds were weird and mushy inside. Never tasted such bad curds like this before. Most likely will not be going back. read more

Doubling-down on every poor-service comment here-in. Ordered 3/4 water and 1/4 cranberry j. at Tiki, tiny cup and charged $5.00; told young girl that usually the guys don't charge, but...then I tip $2-3 depending on friendliness. I paid the $5.00 and she received no tip. I asked If I could have refill, she said, "yes", but as I know that is not always the case, my 2nd was "water" only, as I did not wish to pay $10 for what I received as 95% ice and water= small cup. Arrived at a "shared-table" and waitress's back-side to me at all-times. Tell staff to be aware of "joiner/s" and to keep their faces toward tables, even when trying to solicit tips from "one" guest, by the method of hanging-over the paying-guest. Although they may be unaware of joiners, they should be aware of differences between "what" is in-front of some persons and what is "not" in front of other persons. This will give them a "hint" that, perhaps, another person "would" like a drink, refill, a menu, or something else, especially....nothing or an empty drink appears in front of a guest. I waited tables, for a solid year and the "lack of" simple-awareness-of "what is going on" within a server's area of responsibility, at Waverly, could be much improved; have them "practice" on senior staff so they can, then, appear on Yelp as "excellent wait-staff." I'll still come out to Waverly, and I tip extremely well for table-staff, but since I didn't order anything, she lost the tip. I went to Waverly twice last week for the outdoor atmosphere. On Monday, I went for happy hour and the wait for a drink was about 30 minutes (although not busy). We also never received our BOGO deal as they advertised. Friday, while busier, was much worse. My server gave incorrect drinks multiple times and then after having friends join us, told us she was unable to split the bill. There was zero attention given to our table to the point where one of our friends never got a meal which went unnoticed until she brought out the bill (1 hour after bringing food out). He ordered bang bang shrimp tacos, and just got the bang bang sauce (which he still had to pay for). Because she didn't allow us to split the bill, there was a 20% gratuity added. I understand why businesses do this, but the lack of attention did not deserve this large of a tip especially when you can see servers standing in circles on their phones. I am disappointed, because the food and ambiance has improved over the years, but it is no longer affordable for the lack of service. read more

Waverly is a very fun spot in the summer! Love the patio, which is pretty consistently busy (I didn't snap a pic although many of my fellow yelpers have). We came around 445 and most tables were full. I enjoyed the service and when the beef on our nachos was forgotten, they took the food, got us a new batch of nachos all within a few minutes. The Waverly Mama is a rum/Malibu cocktail that tasted so so good!! Highly recommend:) also love music coming up this summer so be sure to check that out read more

Great location. Very nice remodeling - set up for groups of all sizes. I highly recommend the "bottled" beer and "canned" soda - everything else is absolutely atrocious (for those of you in Menasha, that means it's really bad). Something happened here. This USED to be an excellent place for "Friday Fish Frys" - or a burger, or even a cocktail. Not anymore. 5 people - non of us could eat the food - IT WAS THAT BAD - left a $30 tip - felt bad for the waitress - until I checked my CC statement - she changed her tip to $80! Since they are on the water we opted to sit outside. There is small bees just a FYI. Our party of 4 ordered a salad, 2 flat breads and the Salmon. Salad I was told was good. One flat bread came out cold. My salmon the rice and especially the broccoli was cold. Sent both back but did not come out much better. Went to Waverly Beach to enjoy a meal with family members a couple of nights ago. Music was so loud that we had to shout orders at our wait staff. We asked if there was any way to lower the volume a bit. Wait staff said they would ask. Received our meals with wrong sides and such (maybe wait staff could not clearly hear our orders?), with wait staff stating that the DJ had been approached but would not lower the music volume. So, we ate our wrong orders as quickly as we could and got the heck out of there, as it was not possible to carry on the conversations that make for a family dining experience. Originally we just planned to attend an entertainment event in the ballroom, but when one of our friends invited us to join them for a Friday night fish dinner before the show we readily agreed. Our time with these friends was quite nice and the show was great. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the restaurant and the food. The first, and most important thing I must mention is that I observed a server directly handle food with an ungloved hand. It may seem like a small thing, and I doubt the server even realized what she did (some slices of bread slipped off the plates and though they landed on her serving tray -- and thankfully not the floor -- she reflexively picked them up with her bare hands and replaced them on the plates). In this time of the coronavirus (not to mention that it is still flu season) this is unacceptable. I will note however that our server (a different server) properly handled our plates with her hand on the bottom, not touching the food or eating surface. As for the food, my fish dinner was pretty sad. The fish was encased in a soggy breading that ranged from slightly under-cooked on two pieces of fish to almost burnt (yet still soggy) on the third piece. I peeled most of the breading off and just ate the fish which fortunately was acceptable. The cold, dried out french fries apparently died in a holding bin -- there is no way that they just came out of the fryer. I was also served a dried out heel end of the bread -- not even a couple pats of butter could salvage it. The coleslaw and tartar were okay but unspectacular. My plate was missing the slice of lemon that I noticed on all the other plates at our table (there were twelve of us). If it fell off my plate at least the server didn't pick it up with her fingers and replace it. Lastly, from an independent source I learned that the establishment only scored 78 out of 100 in a recent health inspection. Fortunately none of the violations were "critical," but I doubt the kitchen would get an "A" placard in New York City. On the plus side, the ball room was a decent venue for the show we went to see after dinner. But I'll never be back for the food. read more

Decided to give it one more shot this year. Haven't been there since last year. The inside Bartender could not care less if we are standing at the bar. By the way two bars, maybe four people sitting at the bar. The outside music used to be a go to place, not anymore. Took forever to get our food as usual. It was not very hot. Fries were advertised as natural cut, they were not. These are coated french fries. We spent just about $200 drinks and food for four adults and two kids. The waitress was very nice, but not trained. We sat at our table for about 30 minutes after we're done eating and she never cleared the table. So we paid and left, It's a beautiful place but I won't be back until I hear people talking about great things there. They need to bring back good music. It is such a beautiful setting; the building is impressive. Why was the nice parking lot not full? Okay, it started well, our waitress (Nickera) was wonderful! From there it went downhill. It's Friday night in Wisconsin ... no fish special? They have perch, cod and salmon on the menu ... no walleye, haddock or blue gill. Pricing, I wish I could say it was worth it ... it was not! I had the perch, the proportion was average, the fish was over cooked, price was the highest I have seen. We had 7 adults in our group, we agreed at best the food was average. In spite of the high prices, they added a 3% card fee! Oh it doesn't stop there ... After spending over $200 on food, 3 of us went out to listen to the band, We sat down at a table, a waitress informed us we needed to order food in order to sit at the table. They did provide a "detention" area way off to the side where we could sit without ordering food. With so many good restaurants, with so many reasonable restaurants ... it will be a while before we go back. read more

She was rude and she obviously had way bette things to do than help us. When my chicken sandwich came out it was 3 tiny chicken fingers that weren't much bigger than a French fry. I rarely give reviews but felt this was needed! Our recent visit to your fine establishment shattered our expectation! The service was 5 Star and as always staff was very friendly. It was so busy they literally sat people right next to us outside. The food was fairly priced and quality was impeccable. The pizza arrived hot and fresh and they even provide some type of special aged Parmesan cheese that added that extra flair! One small issue was resolved when one of our party had to return something. She even mentioned how the extra staff that overheard her quickly responded! Overall it's a universal 9.99/10 and we will be back to see about that extra .01 to get that 10/10 read more

Food takes forever to be served. Not hot when it gets to you. I have tried three times on three different occasions and it was the same.

Watch out for your bill. They take a credit card to start a tab, but if you pay cash they don't take the 3% credit card charge off your bill. Didn't see this till I got home, probably will not go back!! The food was so so. Wife ordered a burger medium rare and came out well done fries and tater tots very salty and the prices are crazy for what you get. This was my first time and I'm sure the last time i will go there. A great bar with a great location. They have good food that is I step above normal bar food. I got the Philly. It wasn't the best Philly I have had but it was a good sandwich. The tator tots were cooked perfectly, crunch in every bite. The beat part, was the service. The service was prompt and friendly. I would come back but I would get something else. Service here in the patio in the summer can be hit or miss. You chance getting a waitress who knows what she is doing or walking away with a gift card for terrible service. They have a great summer line up of bands. They have a great drink menu with fun beachy concoctions. Bring a lawn chair because it might be so packed they have more grass than seating sometimes. They have a large area to rent for private parties and sometimes have bands and public events in there. The menu is limited in Friday's and Saturday's but food is good if you have a good waitress ;) I'll come back for a band or a drink on a hot day. The view of Lake Winnebago and the breeze coming off it makes this place a local favorite. read more

First, I wouldn't completely write this place off just yet. They get a 5-star rating for the setting, upgrades and atmosphere. This place aesthetically is very pleasing. The two star overall rating is for a combination of other factors. One of the not so great parts: The Ultimate Bloody Mary was something I simply had to try. It looked obnoxiously impressive and kudos for the novelty factor. All three in our party sampled it and were in agreement: The food was not good at all. The chicken was dry. The pickle was replaced with a calamari cup, which would have been great if the calamari was decent. They were crispy little bits but subpar. The chicken was dry and texture was "blah". The cod in the cod sandwich and shrimp skewers were the only things that I considered edible, but nothing to write home about. The Bloody Mary mix itself was okay. It was a little spicier than I typically like but overall not the worst. I couldn't eat or drink most of it. The social media photo ops were not worth the $40 price tag. Save yourself the money and post someone else's photos instead. (Permission to post mine is granted. Trust me - I'd feel better about spending so much on that drink if someone else can learn from my impulsive mistake, lol.) Thumbs up for the Brisket Grilled Cheese with Gouda. Our waitress informed us that she was the ONLY wait staff on duty. Her attitude, despite this, was very positive! How can one person function properly in this situation? One of the bartenders stepped up and delivered our Ultimate Bloody to the table. (Thank you.) Some of the service issues: I ordered a beer sample at the same time the other two in our party ordered their drinks. Drinks were served minus my beer. I had to ask multiple times until it was finally served after a lengthy wait. The others at my table were almost done with their drinks. My SIL received her brisket grilled cheese without any napkins or silverware. I retrieved some at the bar (after a bit of a wait trying to get someone's attention). My SIL had to walk to the bar to inquire about my ultimate Bloody Mary drink. She was almost done with her meal but I was still waiting for drink/food. I had to go to the bar to request extra napkins/plates. The wait at the table was way too long. After trying the bloody, I knew I needed a beer chaser (shot glass) to cleanse my palate. I ordered one and the waitress happily agreed. Thirty+ minutes later (I timed it), I asked the waitress and she admitted she forgot. She did end up making things right. I know there is a staffing shortage crisis in our nation. That being said, if I was the owner and had spent so much money recently on such amazing upgrades of the physical establishment itself, I would want to assure that the money was well spent, and be on site making sure the infrastructure was in place to launch this beautiful reopening. I'd be running tables if need be! I'm very curious about what backstory is missing in the tale of this gorgeous launch gone wrong. read more

Really impressed with the new update of the bar area. Very nice TVs are great- great place to watch sports. Main drawback is the food and the service. I think the poor service may do the due to understaffing? However the food there's no excuse I had wings boneless and they were gray in colori inside and very chewy.
