juicy burger with mushrooms, cheese, and bacon

I am a visitor to Appleton and was absolutely starving when I arrived late at night. Tanner's was one of the few places still serving food when I called at 10 minutes to closing time. They were very kind and promised to put my order in right at closing so it would be fresh when I arrived. I over ordered as I usually do, but I wanted to make sure to post pictures because I noticed there's not many of the food and I thought this nice establishment deserved more visuals. they are right in front of two very large hotels so probably would be convenient for other late arrivals . They stop serving food at 10 PM although yelp says they're open until midnight, that is true only of the bar area. It was quiet with a few folks hanging out and chatting in a very comfortable way so clearly this place is popular with locals. Chloe, who originally answered the phone was super nice and Steve, who was manning the bar/kitchen service was also very kind and attentive. All in all I would recommend this as a homey and friendly place to come.

Atmosphere: Sports bar environment with high top tables and booths. Lots of seating. Big screen TVs with sports on. Quite a bit of parking in the lot which was nice. Service: Greeted right away when walking in. Efficient server that was knowledgeable about the menu. Food came out fast too. Food: Standard bar food (pizza/wings/burgers/wraps/fried apps). We ordered the app basket and the boneless wings. The sauces on the wings was really good. The boneless wings had a lot of breading on them but they were juicy on the inside. The app basket was standard prepackaged frozen to fried food. The chips in the app basket were a bit thick and needed salt. Drinks: Beers were nice and cold, decent list of options to choose from. This place is close by and I'm going to be going back to try more items off the menu, maybe some of their other items aren't prepackaged frozen and have a bit more flavor. I'll update my review then.

If you're looking for a place to drink and know you will probably get hungry this is a good place to go. Mostly this is a bar, not much on the grill. It's in the parking lot (almost) of the Fairfield Inn in Appleton so as a traveler might think this is a great option. You'll quickly realize this is a local bar hang out. The menu has a lot of choices. I had the French dip and the meat was wayyy over seasoned and overcooked. The bartender was very nice. Probably a fun place to go drink. If you have kids with you or are looking for a high quality meal, pick something else.

Big Teriyaki Chicken Wing. Tanner's glaze taste better than liquid sauced BWW competition.

Much to his dismay, they were out of the one item he even decided to come here for. To his defense, when several dishes on the menu have that one item in it, it takes away a lot of food options. He had trouble picking his alternate dish since his 2nd choice was catfish....and the way they serve it here is whole which he doesn't want to work for his food. We ended up walking out and trying another restaurant. Service was friendly and understandable about our choice.

We had a private room with pre-set menu that included bread service + soup or salad. Do not skip on the fresh bread with compound butter. I never knew how delicious bacon Parmesan compound butter would be. I want to be a butter snob now and only crave compound butters moving forward. :D Food presentation is beautiful but taste is what wins me over. The tenderloin is magnificent. All of the flavors are in perfect symmetry - the sprouts and mashed potatoes were dynamite. Having broccolini as another vegetable was even better. This is a generously sized dish and easily makes for 2 meals. I can't say enough positive things about my first Fratellos experience and very much look forward to coming back for another taste.

We went to one of their limited dinner services. I had called the day before and reserved a table. When we were quickly seated at a table by the entrance, I admit being suspect of how our visit would go. The hostess asked if the table was alright and pointed out a heater by the table. Not only did it keep us warm, it made our table feel cozy. Despite it being very busy, I'd describe the restaurant as being a great place for a special date. Our waiter for the evening brought great energy. His timing was great and his knowledge of the food served was helpful. Without hesitation he suggested the Napolitana (which was phenomenal). He also made the restaurant less pretentious than I had assumed it would be and it definitely wasn't pretentious). We ordered the empanadas and beet salad as appetizers. Great picks and I'd return just to get the empanadas! As previously stated, I had the Napolitana. My dining partner has the quinoa bowl but added chicken to it. No complaints for either. We finished with two desserts suggested by our waiter. Although truly full from our meal, we polished off the tasty treats. I'm going back, just disappointed I've haven't visited it before now.

They're located in an old building along the main street in downtown. For lunch, they seemed to have a short list of items...and not really catering to a red meat eater like me. I picked the chicken pesto sandwich since I normally eat chicken sandwiches for lunch and opted for the house potatoes. Our waitress was very loopy and loud add seemed overly happy about her job. My colleague thinks she was yelling at us whem she spoke, but I believe that is just how some people talk. My chicken sandwich was good...but the chicken breast seemed like a machine formed patty and it was small. I was expecting something a little fresher, like a whole grilled chicken breast for the price. Instead, this seemed like a pre-made patty from a vendor they just heated up in an oven. The house potatoes were simple and pretty good though. They add cheese and herbs and spices to these to amp them up. I can't really speak for the breakfast or cocktail program, but their music was pretty good.

We had a soda flight of their craft sodas for a super super reasonable price, and every single soda was spectacular. We're spoiled in the craft soda department by virtue of living in Wisconsin (Sprecher, Potosi, etc), but this was definitely the best craft soda we've had. Even the wacky flavors like blue raspberry were rich and flavorful--they didn't taste overwhelmingly artificial. I cannot recommend their soda enough, although I imagine their craft beer is pretty good too! We also had a delicious mocktail, which always goes a long ways in impressing us.
