It was tough to find outdoor seating here, but glad we found this super friendly pub with a patio and good food. Irish stew, potato pancakes, bangers 'n mash.

This place had everything to make the evening an awesome one. Guinness was excellent and so was the food. We tried the Galaway wings with Yellow spice and the Fish and Chips. The latter was marvellous and I would definitely rate it as one of the best. What best way to end an evening than with the Irish brownie Kudos to the server who was regularly checking up on us :) I could give an extra star just for the atmosphere of the pub.. With folks singing aloud at the bar counter and everyone else joining them. It was truly a Gala evening.

Best Reuben EVER! We were just driving down the road looking for a place to eat and my husband asked if we could stop in here. It is a spacious bar atmosphere almost feels old world like with all the dark woods. We found a table in the dining area and were promptly asked what we would like to drink. We both asked for any sort of dark Irish beer you have and that was a great choice. The dark beer that we were served paired well with our food. I ordered the Reuben sandwich but asked for coleslaw instead of chips. I always worry about subbing sides but the kind gentleman with the cool Irish accent did not bat an eye to my request. When the Reuben came out it was served with a side of thousand island. I like that it was not on the sandwich as I could dress it how I wished. It was mouth watering good. My husband loved the sheppard's pie. I would come back here to try other things on the menu as well. The chips and curry sound amazing. Worth a stop in if you are looking for traditional Irish food.

Just had a fabulous lunch here today, Irish stew and Irish coffee. Great restorative break from a busy afternoon shopping.

I had two kilt lifter scotch ales and a Guinness (which they pour beautifully) for a reasonable price.

The bar itself has been overhauled and re-finished in several parts until you get what you see now. In short, the place was transformed by its current owners. So, that is nice in that you can walk into a pub in Custer, WI and feel like you walked off the street in any larger town in America. The beer selection is stellar for this neck of the woods, and there is a special attention paid to Irish-oriented alcohol because, well, it's an Irish pub. That, and the owner (Clancy) looks like he crawled out of Braveheart. The food is standard to better-than-average for the most part, but by and large it is done well by Clancy's wife in the kitchen. She runs the show for the most part, and though she is alone, she manages to keep up with the appetites of those who come in...for the most part. The most celebrated food there is probably the Friday Fish Fry (a Wisconsin tradition if you didn't figure that out yet). I've eaten it a number of times, and the consistency of that particular dish is outstanding! Whether you're in Stevens Point, a local, or just moving through the area...Clancy's is worth a stop. It's also the FIRST place you should stop in its neighborhood. There are other bars, but Clancy's is going to give you a bit more of what most people are looking for. Then again, the other bars aren't terrible or overly lacking. They're just more, hmmmm, specific to their particular clientele's needs.

But the real stars are on the menu - all home made by the lady of the house - mostly with an Irish / English twist, and all with character and great taste. Personal favorite is the Saint Paddys pizza - a variation on the staple of corned beef and cabbage - served up on a pizza base with a gorgeous mustard sauce. Friday fish fry is baked and crumbed - nothing deep fried and is a pleasant change from the norm. If possible skip eating in the main dining room - it mostly lacks the atmosphere of the front bar and games room - and instead soak up all this place has to offer while sitting at or alongside the bar. The place gets full and busy on Friday nights but is never rowdy and the TVs are well placed and not obtrusive. And leave room for dessert - again they're home made and there's always a couple of themed items that are sure to please. Prices are very reasonable and portions are a good size. I'm a fan.
