Wow!!! Great service and delicious food (bring your appetite). The servings are more than satisfying. Breakfast today was the veggie omelet and hubby had French toast. Got to the restaurant on a Tuesday, 10 minutes after they opened and the joint was jumping. Since they are known for their potato pancakes, that's what I had. You can get the two or three. I had the 3 thinking they were average sized. Ha! They were the size of my plate! They were light and super thin and delicious. They are served with bacon and applesauce. I could not finish them due to the enormity. My man had the sausage and cheese omelette with American fries and it also was immense. Coffee pot sat on our table with giant glasses of water. Always an off-menu breakfast and lunch special on the chalkboard. Always a great selection of desserts. Tables can be a bit cramped when it's busy, but I like this place! They have some breakfast dishes that are different from all the other diners if you like having something other than a Denver omelette everywhere you go. read more

This little restaurant is a well kept secret no longer. Although it's a few miles off the highway I will tell you there is no better place for breakfast! Always good and helping sizes are large. We are huge fans of the Third Street Diner!!! We moved to the other side of town last year and tried to find our new 'greasy spoon' (I say this in the highest regards) ... couldn't find anything even close. Whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner you can't go wrong with 3rd Street Diner. Their breakfast though. Man oh man. If you leave hungry it's your fault. Their coffee is amazing. Love this place for breakfast. Fast friendly service. All the food is on point just like Mama fixed it. Daughter had pancakes and bacon and my son had French toast and bacon. I had the western omelette and American fries. Everything was hot and delicious. Need to go back just for pie next time as I saw their pie list as we were walking out. This is a good "greasy spoon" kind of place that beats the chains hands-down when it comes to breakfast. Its a nice little diner with some of the best pancakes around. Usually I won't order pancakes because they are always mushy, tasteless, and just plain disgusting. However, I think Third Street Diner makes theirs from scratch and its an effort you can taste. Comes with a generous scoop of butter melting its way through the center of the pile. I'm a hearty eater but I can only finish maybe half of a 3-stack. And the coffee. Seriously. What do they do different that makes it so awesome? They fill your cup and bring you a carafe of the brew so there's no waiting for a refill. I'm not a coffee drinker in the summertime, but I order anyway and always want to take some home with me. Its rich and delicious. The service is fast and the place is clean. I haven't tried their lunch offerings, but will always recommend their breakfast. Give a try and support a local business. read more

We stopped into Third Street Diner a while back mostly based on the Yelp reviews, and I have to say I was a little disappointed. This is more of a true greasy (little bit dirty) spoon than a quaint, quality diner. The food is cheap (big breakfast for probably around $6-7) but the ingredients are no doubt low grade as well. The waitress was super friendly but she seemed a little on the inexperienced side of things. The decor and upkeep of the place is not much to write home about. I found this joint to be a decent spot to rev up on coffee and get something in your stomach but in terms of cuisine it wasn't anything more than grilled-up breakfast staples you could find in any hole-in-the-wall spot in the USA. Perhaps the rest of their menu is different, I dunno, because I only popped in once the day after a Packers game. This place has the right kind of vibe: Regular folks workin' to make a living. But like the dysfunctional newspaper boxes outside the front door, it's not all it's cracked up to be. Now that doesn't mean you shouldn't go and see for yourself. read more

Very few times do we visit this area without stopping in for Sunday breakfast. Good kid's menu, friendly waitstaff, and awesome traditional diner food. Omelets are huge and very filling. My favorite breakfast, though, has to the apple fritter french toast. (I know, right??!) This used to be a place to get a good cup of coffee and a fairly priced, but also fairly ordinary meal. The prices have jumped considerably over the years making it not-so-much of a value for your hard earned cash. The staff is always friendly and willing to go out of their way for you, however. This is what makes me return from time to time, then I get the check and have to re-forget why I stopped going. The breakfast menu is short, but most items are delicious. The pancakes in particular are great. The lunch and dinner items can't compete with their breakfast and its evidenced by the full lot in the mornings and then a severe drop off in patronage near to the lunch hour. I WANT to give more stars because of the service, but that's only 1/3 of what you go out to eat for. The value and food (excepting breakfast) just isn't there. read more

The best chicken fried steak in the world! Also they let you order pizza from the place next door. Chicken and dumpling soup was awesome. Great service.
