Sunday Noon packed house, local after church folks, good solid menu, friendly attentive staff, great American food entrees. Enjoyed a clean diner atmosphere. Tried this new place in between appointments this morning. Service was superb. Our server checked on us frequently as did another server when she saw us looking around and came to see if we needed anything. As much food as you get, we could have totally shared a meal. Hubby had the meat lovers skillet with sour dough toast. He asked for sausage gravy on top of his skillet. He said it was flavorful and meshed well. I had the senior-size (2 eggs) Denver omelet with grits and pancakes. As you can tell by the photos, they like butter on their grits as much as I do! The omelet was so good with crisp tender peppers and onions. The pancakes had a slight malt flavor. All of our food was tasty! The restaurant was clean and quiet with a central location in Appleton. Menu looks good but it really seems like the cooks here are either inexperienced or not paying attention. If you order eggs over easy, sometimes you will get almost a hard cooked egg and other times it will hardly be cooked with much of the white still running. Paying for a botched meal that should be really easy to make is a surefire way to keep me from visiting. Especially when it's easier to make eggs and toast with some snausage at home. read more

I ordered oatmeal,one egg poached HARD, toast & bacon. The oatmeal came out first then 10 minutes later the rest of my food came out. When im the only person ordering food, i would like all my food to come out at once! Although the food was GOOD, other then the poached egg that was under cooked, service was fair. Not the worst place I've been too. Today was my dad's birthday so I let him pick where he wanted to go. He chose to come here. It seems like a local hang out a lot of regulars. I asked if they did anything for birthdays the waitress said no. I let it go and we ordered our drinks. Once I got my soda I noticed something floating in it ended up asking for a new one the waitress was pleasant and gave us a new one no issues. Then my soup had bones in it but I can handle that because at least it makes me think it was made by a person and not a machine. Our orders were large and everything tasted good. They we're never nice enough to make sure my daughter had enough to eat because she just had dental work and couldn't eat off the kids menu. The atmosphere is a typical truck stop diner.
