Really good place to go to. Prices are reasonable. Food is always hot and fresh. Service is great. The guys working the grill do a great job. Once they get the order they immediately start working on the order or as soon as they finish up existing orders. The serves are great at making sure you are content. They check to see if you need anything like a refill for example. This establishment is located in the heart of Baraboo WI. So if you are vacationing out at Devil's Lake State Park, it is about a mile away. If you are coming into town to take in the circus come a little early so you can have a great breakfast. Or maybe after the circus go to this place for a late lunch. Highly Recomended based on quantity and quality of food. Based on service and prices. Excellent establishment. Stopped here on the way back from a camping trip and we're so glad we did! Monica, our waitress, was amazing, such a lovely lady with the funniest jokes. The inside definitely had those old-school diner vibes, but our group of 6 sat outside so we'd have be all together. Everyone loved their food! The blueberry pancakes and chicken noodle soup were the fan favorites. We were told the soup was made completely from scratch, and you could definitely taste it, it was delicious!!! I had the kids' Mickey Mouse pancake with a mimosa, and honestly... amazing new combo for me!! Such a great spot to stop at on the way back to the city. Friendly service and delicious food. First time here. We were on our way to the Dells and hungry for some breakfast. The place has a nice retro feel to it. The stainless steel diner has been well cared for and updated enough to make it more comfortable for staff and customers. There are some tables out front and two different seating areas inside (it's bigger than it looks). All the cooking is done behind the counter, where you can see it all happening. It can be a bit noisy as the metal spatulas hit the grill, but you can still have a reasonable conversation. It's a busy place, and the servers are efficient, with a no nonsense approach to taking your orders. The menu is large, with lots of traditional favorites (no avocado toast here). There were two pages of breakfast items, and it was a tough decision. We ordered a number of different items: corned beef hash, pancakes, and potato pancakes with eggs and sausage. It did not take very long to get our food. Very good portions, everything was plenty hot, and all flavorful. Everyone was happy with their choices. The corned beef hash was not the kind you get from a can. It was large, fresh pieces. The pork sausages were plump and well seasoned. The poached eggs were perfect. My only complaint: I ordered my potato pancakes extra crispy, but they didn't seem "extra" to me (extra extra crispy next time). The regular pancakes were good, but not fluffy enough to be "excellent". A very nice place for breakfast, and somewhere we would return to. read more

Wouldn't return, I really wanted to like it I did, from the outside super cute. Inside cramped and loud. I don't even mind cramped and loud per se but then my Bloody Mary wasn't great. Weak. The mix was like tomato juice nothing to jazz it up. I had the eggs benedict it was just kind of flat, the hollandaise lacked seasoning and flavor just tasted like blah. My husband said the same of his meal. Which I can't even remember what he had it was so forgetful. The homemade bread was the reason I gave one star for the effort. Not good. Won't be back. Driving through Wisconsin going home to Wheaton, Illinois from Eden Prairie, MN, my hubby had me search for a highly rated, yet affordable brunch place along the way. Broadway Diner is a little off the main southbound highway, but when I read the story behind it and some positive reviews, I really wanted to try it out. How cool is it that this is an actual old time, well used diner from the East Coast that was transported to the Midwest and restored to its original beauty! Frank Sinatra era music played pleasantly in the background. Very happy and friendly wait staff wearing black shirts that said "Body by Bacon" greeted and served us. I loved the hollandaise sauce atop the Farmers Market Benedict Scramble I ordered, and that it came with a side of fresh fruit. My husband's Corned Beef Hash was a bit salty for him. Very cool 50s themed restaurant car sort of diner. Clean, small, and intimate. The best thing about this diner was the service. Our server was so friendly and attentive with a warm smile. At the end of the meal everyone was playing along with dad jokes and riddles. The food was fine to good. My only gripe was the toast had the texture of stale bread that was toasted it crumbled in your mouth immediately. At the end the server asked about a cookie and if we wanted it warmed up. After a long motorcycle ride, we looked forward to having a late breakfast/lunch at the Broadway Diner in Baraboo, WI. We were disappointed and will never return. The menu advertises "homemade" bread for toast (not so) and the hashbrowns had been kept 'warming' on the grill from an earlier time (they were petrified) - I saw them there when we arrived. The hashbrowns we ordered had been hacked off that awful mass and were inedible. After hacking off our portion, the cook threw the remainder out. When I pointed out the awful hashbrowns, the waitress said, "We like to serve them crispy." Clearly, no one gave a damn. The bathroom door and knob were black with many dirty hands going in and out. Overall, the food was awful and the restaurant wasn't clean. read more

This was a just a stop for breakfast on Tuesday while driving through heading south... We had no wait, booth was clean, and our server was very friendly and attentive.. We both got omelettes which were very generous in size.. they had multiple options in bread which I got the English muffin and my husband got the white which was very thick and incredible light even with toasting... the hashbrowns had a very nice fried layer like hashbrowns should.. We always make a point to hit this diner when we're in town and it never disappoints. It's so cute inside; you feel like you're traveling back in time and it's so welcoming. The servers are always friendly and attentive, and the food is served quickly. I've never had a bad experience here, and this one today was great. I usually get the veggie omelette with one pancake on the side. Super tasty and filling; carries me through doing all the touristy things and I don't need to stop until dinner. This time I tried some bacon... and I usually hate breakfast meat, but this was awesome. Not sure where they get their bacon from, but it's thicker cut and has a great flavor. I loved this place! It's like stepping back into the 50's when you walk through the door. We were greeted immediately upon entry. We were seated quickly even though they were fairly busy at 7:15am. The diner itself was beautiful and clean. They play popular 50's music over the speakers. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and came out quick. I got the chicken and biscuits. Hand breaded chicken tenders made upon ordering. The chicken came between 2 cheddar biscuits and was covered with bacon gravy, 2 eggs on the side. My wife got the Wisconsin cheddar biscuits and gravy which came with sausage Pattie's, eggs, and a generous portion of hash browns. The children got "Mickey Mouse" pancakes. Next time you're near Baraboo, be sure to stop by. The menu is limited to breakfast and lunch, but what they offer is all excellent. The diner is open from 9 until 3. We were driving home from The Dells today when we decided we needed to grab some breakfast. We were impressed with the selection of eggs and omelets, but you can get what you crave individually, a la carte, including oatmeal and fruit. There are also a nice number of sandwiches (both cold and hot), along with some salads for those watching their figures! The entire staff is fast, efficient, and really good at what they do. Debra was our server - friendly, helpful, and really attentive to our needs. (Thanks again, Debra!!) It was fun to sit near the prep area watching the cooks. These guys know what they're doing. With each new order, they went to work immediately and got it out and ready to serve FAST! Can't say enough about the Broadway Diner. Baraboo resident here, this is a fun place! We come here every once in a while for the diner classic look, usually when family or friends are visiting because people like the charm. Pros? Reasonable prices for large portions & a variety of sweet and savory on the menu. The interior and exterior are really fun, I believe they packed up this diner & transported it from the east coast (???) & brought it to Baraboo. Very cool. Cons? It's very loud & very cramped. It can be difficult to hear the person you're sitting across from, so we tend to have a hard time having a conversation, especially in the front area. If you want to speak with people, see if you can grab a seat in the back/side area. The service is friendly but very rushed, although that's to be expected in a place that's always busy. The main reason we're not here on the regular is because of how greasy the food is in comparison to other little breakfast places & diners in the Baraboo area. I love the French toast on their homemade bread but eggs/hashbrowns/bacon/sausage is asking for a stomachache. Like I said, we still pop by on occasion & it's always busy, so they're doing something right! read more

Excellent breakfast and lunch selections. I wanted both but opted for breakfast. The hashbrowns were well seasoned and cooked perfectly. We also had great pancakes with a side of bacon but some of the food came out cold/lukewarm. I watched our server wrapping utensils while my plate was waiting at the window for a while. They could do better with their timing. Most people in the area just left their mask off after sitting down and few put them back on when leaving. The staff was wearing masks. We stopped in for the third time. This time we entered through the handicap ramp and side door. Just inside of the door the seating srea splits into a "L". Sign says to register with hostice. No one around. Stood there a few moments and decided to seat ourself, there was no one waiting to be seated. Once seated, we were ignored by two waitresses thst were serving the 6 tables. I greatly appreciated this diner! A lot of the small town Wisconsin breakfast diners make me feel overly full and weighed down, but this leave me feeling satisfied and light. I got the farmers market Benedict without cheese, and it was lovely. They did a sun-dried tomato hollandaise sauce, and it was so yummy. We were able to enjoy the food and the location because it felt like we were back in the 50's! Cute booths and you could watch the cook make your food.
