Worst breakfast experience around. The waitress acted as if I was not welcome. The toast was soggy, the food was blah, and I was actually embarrassed to be there after driving into a pot holed parking lot. This place clearly prefers their regular customers, and I would have walked out but I was super hungry for breakfast so I thought as long as I'm here I might as well try it. It was an expensive at $17 for a basic breakfast (that is miles better at Perkins) & bad breakfast not to mention the entire unwelcoming vibe. Do yourself a favor and don't go. Heard lots of great reviews but not today. Service was excellent that is why the 2 stars. I ordered the sausage gravy skillet and sourdough bread from servers suggestion. Awful. She brought it to the table and the sausage gravy was like water. She said it is not usually that thin but the cook said it was ok. If I was the server I would not have bought it out. It was slop. Sent it back because everything was mushy. Why do servers not stand up to cooks and refuse to serve it? My husband ordered the potato pancakes and the potatoes were still raw. We did have a cup of their breakfast soup and it was delicious. I think it was a bad day for the cook. Usually I would never go back to a place where the food is substandard but my brother said it is not usually that bad. read more

I've eaten here before, but it had been several years since my last visit. They offer an extensive menu. The one thing I immediately noticed was prices higher than most restaurants in the Fox Valley. Our server was attentive and engaged my dining partner and I several times during our breakfast. The coffee was hot and our server made sure to keep the cups filled. My partner had a Mexican omelette. I'd say it wasn't the prettiest omelette I've seen; however, my partner enjoyed it. I had a breakfast skillet. It was very large and tasted good (a little greasy). I have a hearty appetite and could not finish the entire skillet. If you are looking for a menu online or through the restaurant's social media, you won't find one. It is a good country cafe that could use a little updating but clearly has regulars; who were helping to fill the tables. Because Yelp won't allow for half stars, I'd say this rated a low 4, high 3. Visited during a weekday morning. The exterior makes you concerned. Inside was quite dated, but cute and quirky. Carpet was sticky. Service was A+ and very friendly. Food was typical greasy spoon, which hits the spot if that's what you're looking for, and I was. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals. I had the breakfast poutine, and it was very good. Only real negative is that it is very costly as far as a breakfast restaurant goes. It was $65 for my group of four, which included two children. One word. Amazing! This won't be a long one, but sometimes less is more. The meals that my family ordered came out fast, hot and delicious. Service was amazing with a real family "out in the country" feel to it. As we were enjoying our coffee (which was awesome) one of the girls came by and brought us a sample of sausage gravy. Yum! It's nothing to look at from the outside, but in Oink's case, it's what's on the inside that counts! On our way out, a couple of the girls gave us $4 dollars for our son's 4 year old birthday! WOW! What a find! All four of us agree; this is the best breakfast place we have ever been to! The food is absolutely amazing. The pancakes are some of the best tasting cakes I've ever had, hands down. They must put vanilla in them, so delicious. Eggs all cooked perfectly for all of us. Hash browns grilled to perfection. Sausage links cooked perfectly and so flavorful. Friends got country fried pork, Julio biscuits and gravy and eggs Benedict and they all absolutely loved them, they can't stop raving! When you drive up it looks like and old time garage truck stop. But when inside, it's all about the breakfast. This place was the bomb for breakfast. Pigs everywhere and it did not disappoint. Friend had the Hog Wild Skillet - bacon, sausage, ham, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, green peppers, and black olives mixed with hashbrowns or american fries topped with cheese, three eggs and toast Half Order $7.99 Full Order $10.99. He ordered it without black olives (what the heck is wrong with him?) He had the half order which was huge. He said it was all perfectly cooked. As for Dawn, the sassy waitress, she was a hoot. Did an excellent job and obviously likes to tease her customers. Everyone seemed to enjoy it. I know my friend and I did. A waiter/ress can make or break a restaurant experience. Upon entering we were scolded to "not sit in my section". When our food arrived we were told we were being timed. I have never been so disrespected in my life. We had a short brown haired waitress. It was busy so we thought we would clear out space for people waiting by the door. We left way over the amount the bill would have been because she was doing her best while busy. She proceeded to chase us out the door and accuse us of not paying before she went to the table to look and see we left her a large tip. I should not be that disrespected because we are young and trying to do the right thing. I go there often and have not seen her yet. I was not impressed one bit.
