It has been a bit since I have been to Chefo's. The last time I was here was during the Great Egg Shortage. At this time, they got a bit pricy. However, things have calmed down significantly and the prices are back to normal. Today I had the Mexican Skillet. I have been having an issue with jalapenos, and this had some in it. Let's just say I devoured this breakfast. The American fries were perfectly Crunchy on the outside. I had mine with bacon instead of chorizo, which was perfect for me. Great little spot!! Was in town visiting family and stumbled upon this place on Uber eats. Instead of ordering I decided to go dine in! So glad we did! Our server seated us immediately after greeting us at the door! We placed our drink orders and took a few mins to look at the menu!! I went with the Mexican omelette, so good! My only feedback would be to chop on the jalapeños better. Eating whole slices was a bit awkward!! My mom got the huevos rancheros, another hit!! Let me start by saying this is a 3.5 star review. I'll keep hammering Yelp to allow reviewers to give half star for more accurate reviews. My friend and I decided to give this restaurant a try as we had never been there. It is a standard, local restaurant with no bells or whistles. We found a menu brimming with plenty of choices, a casual atmosphere and friendly service. I went with the Mexican omelette. It was large, prepared nicely but lacked flavor. I ended up adding salt and salsa, which I always try to avoid. The hash browns and pancakes were good. My dining partner had the thin french toast. He thought it was good. My coffee cup never went empty during our visit. The atmosphere was very casual with several groups of older men having what appeared to be their regular coffee club. The price of breakfast was reasonable and the portion size was generous. We will certainly consider a return trip, to try something else on their menu. read more

My family and I went here again for breakfast. I have nothing but praise for Chefo's again. The food was plentiful and delicious and the service was great and attentive. We walked in and seated ourselves Sat for 10 minutes with no acknowledgment that we were in the restaurant!! No menus, nothing!! 3 employees were standing around the cash register and one waitress was delivering food to seated customers. A local favorite! The food is great and priced appropriately .. my new favorite is the Kimberly Sandwich! We've only ever been here for breakfast, will look to expand into lunch soon. The building decor is a bit outdated with wood paneling all over, but it does give the place its character. I was so excited to come back here for breakfast when we were in town. Because the American fries there were the BEST. They are the sliced kind- not cubes and were delicious. Huge portions, average service times, very laid back greasy-spoon diner atmosphere. If you leave hungry, you have problems.

Atmosphere: Typical small diner with booth and table seating. There is a bar area you can sit at up front. The parking lot is quite large and is easy to access. You can tell everything on the inside is really old and hasn't been updated in a while. Service: I've been here twice, the first visit the service was insane, ABSOLUTELY flawless. My coffee cup was never empty, my water cup was never empty, food was fast. Literally perfect service. The second time I had to get up and get my own coffee, twice. And we had to go up to the counter to ask for simple things, like napkins, or water. The staff was so busy cleaning and closing down (2 hours to closing) that all of the tables were mumbling about the service being nonexistent that were seated next to us. There were maybe 5 tables in the whole place full. Have one waitress dedicated to waitressing and the rest to clean up if you are so worried about it. No offense, but I don't want to spend my brunch listening about how sauces need to be filled as it is shouted across the room. I felt like I was bothering them as a customer for even being in the restaurant, which I did not like. Food: The food was spot on both times. Really good homey comfort food. The quality and quantity you get here is fantastic. The people I dined her with agreed 100% that the food was great and were as satisfied when leaving as I was. It is the first time here to Kimberly, Wi. So I took a Yelp reviewers advice from 6 years ago to skip every thing and go directly to the "stuffed cinnamon French toast". Very yummy so it gets my 5 star Baby Bell award‼Three, small lightly baked-in cinnamon French toast layers, perfectly cooked in egg batter that have two layers of Philadelphia cream cheese that melts and overflow with goodness. The cream cheese is mild. I thought I would need to add syrup...No need, the sweet flavor was enough to carry it through. The French toast was lightly toasted on the outside and moist enough to cut with my fork. Good French toast is all the work of a good chef. Great job! For a big guy, you need to eat this as a "combo". I ordered 2 eggs/ easy-over. The egg yolks were not over cooked. Bacon was crispy like I am used too. Nothing special, just standard good quality. Coffee was mild enough that 2 half and half dispenser cups was all I needed to eliminate the need for sugar. Service was excellent, waitress was friendly but the table amenities lacked attention to detail. No sugar packs, missing stir straws or spoon for mixing the coffee and I thought I needed syrup so I had to borrow a dispenser from another table. I came into dine around close to 2 pm, past the rush hour on Sunday so that might explain the problem of stocking my table. Nit pick items that did not detract from the overall quality of the food but the waitress should have picked up on the missing details. I will definitely be back to try more specialty food items. read more

Friendly staff and good service too. The biggest cup of hot chocolate you've ever that made my boy soooo happy. There was an inch of just marshmallow below the whipped cream. We received menus and coffee fairly quickly, but waited for about 20 minutes before anyone remembered to take our order. 2 other tables near us were seated with new customers, orders taken and received their food before we could even place our order. My husband's eggs in the Eggs Benedict were cold and the side of bacon never arrived.
