Potato pancakes with scrambled eggs and sausage. Delicious!

Excellent little local restaurant with great food and super friendly service! Potato pancakes were delicious as was the ground beef steak and eggs with nice crispy American fries. Just a great meal at good prices and prepared with great care and love!

Let me start by saying this is a 3.5 star review. I'll keep hammering Yelp to allow reviewers to give half star for more accurate reviews. My friend and I decided to give this restaurant a try as we had never been there. It is a standard, local restaurant with no bells or whistles. We found a menu brimming with plenty of choices, a casual atmosphere and friendly service. I went with the Mexican omelette. It was large, prepared nicely but lacked flavor. I ended up adding salt and salsa, which I always try to avoid. The hash browns and pancakes were good. My dining partner had the thin french toast. He thought it was good. My coffee cup never went empty during our visit. The atmosphere was very casual with several groups of older men having what appeared to be their regular coffee club. The price of breakfast was reasonable and the portion size was generous. We will certainly consider a return trip, to try something else on their menu.

Awesome little breakfast joint in Appleton, WI. Friendly service, delicious food, and great prices. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town for work.

A local favorite! The food is great and priced appropriately .. my new favorite is the Kimberly Sandwich! We've only ever been here for breakfast, will look to expand into lunch soon. The building decor is a bit outdated with wood paneling all over, but it does give the place its character. The service staff is always friendly, however they seem to be understaffed during busy times.

Everyone at our table was satisfied w our meals! It's a classic American diner type of place. Huge portions and reasonable/cheap prices. The server was pretty freaking awesome. She was serving the whole diner all by herself and she was absolutely killing it. Friendly, patient, and attentive. Definitely give them a try if you need a warm and relaxing meal. Unfortunately I didn't get the servers name.

This is my go-to spot for a morning feast. My little man is all about the lumberjack meal, while I can't resist the gyro omelet, raspberry crepes, and the fab #5 Waffle Combo. In my two-year stint in Kimberly, not once has this place served up a breakfast that didn't tickle my taste buds. The staff? Always grinning. The fellow patrons? Just as chirpy. It's like a slice of small-town charm with a side of syrup.

fairly low quality. Probably cheap ingredients but who knows what makes a bad pancake or a poorly cooked egg. Just not good.

Huge portions, average service times, very laid back greasy-spoon diner atmosphere. If you leave hungry, you have problems.

You seat yourself and a server will come over with menus and take your order. I ordered the senior meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and peas. Hubby ordered the three-cheese burger cooked medium and fries. My meatloaf was tender and flavorful with just the right amount of gravy. Mashed potatoes had small little lumps that tasted homemade. Peas were crisp tender and buttery. Hubby's burger was cooked perfectly and fries were slightly battered, hot and crispy. We both liked how our servings were a little smaller than what you get nowadays. Servings have become too large in most restaurants and it contributes to unhealthy bodies but these servings were enough to satisfy you without overfilling you. Service was prompt and she checked on us enough without coming over too much. The place is so interesting with all of its historical memorabilia. I've eaten at this restaurant about a half dozen times during the past three years. I don't think it gets enough credit locally. The food is always good, the service is reliable and the restaurant is well maintained. The theme, as the name implies, is veteran oriented. There are nice sized tables and booths, which make dining comfortable. I've always eaten there for breakfast. The size of the menu is just right, offering many options for anyone in your dining party. I've had a couple of different breakfasts and found the flavorful, well prepared and filling. If you drink coffee, you'll never have an empty cup! To me, this is everything a local restaurant should be. If you are in the mood for breakfast or lunch, I wouldn't hesitate to give the place a shot!

We went to one of their limited dinner services. I had called the day before and reserved a table. When we were quickly seated at a table by the entrance, I admit being suspect of how our visit would go. The hostess asked if the table was alright and pointed out a heater by the table. Not only did it keep us warm, it made our table feel cozy. Despite it being very busy, I'd describe the restaurant as being a great place for a special date. Our waiter for the evening brought great energy. His timing was great and his knowledge of the food served was helpful. Without hesitation he suggested the Napolitana (which was phenomenal). He also made the restaurant less pretentious than I had assumed it would be and it definitely wasn't pretentious). We ordered the empanadas and beet salad as appetizers. Great picks and I'd return just to get the empanadas! As previously stated, I had the Napolitana. My dining partner has the quinoa bowl but added chicken to it. No complaints for either. We finished with two desserts suggested by our waiter. Although truly full from our meal, we polished off the tasty treats. I'm going back, just disappointed I've haven't visited it before now.

They're located in an old building along the main street in downtown. For lunch, they seemed to have a short list of items...and not really catering to a red meat eater like me. I picked the chicken pesto sandwich since I normally eat chicken sandwiches for lunch and opted for the house potatoes. Our waitress was very loopy and loud add seemed overly happy about her job. My colleague thinks she was yelling at us whem she spoke, but I believe that is just how some people talk. My chicken sandwich was good...but the chicken breast seemed like a machine formed patty and it was small. I was expecting something a little fresher, like a whole grilled chicken breast for the price. Instead, this seemed like a pre-made patty from a vendor they just heated up in an oven. The house potatoes were simple and pretty good though. They add cheese and herbs and spices to these to amp them up. I can't really speak for the breakfast or cocktail program, but their music was pretty good.

There is a hostess stand and an area to sit while you wait for a table (it was about a 10 minute wait for a table). Service: They delivered the food and refilled coffee and waters promptly. Food: They can't accommodate any custom requests. I asked for extra crispy bacon on my eggs benedict and they said they would see what they could do. It was really soggy and chewy so I couldn't eat it (texture issue). Do not order the eggs benedict, three of us at the table ordered different variations of this dish and were all disappointed (zero texture, extra soggy, no flavor, too much hollandaise sauce). Do not order the eggs benedict on the potato pancakes if you are hungry, the potato pancakes were as thin as a dime and the size of my hand. I left hungry and went home to eat. The one person who didn't order the eggs benedict loved their food. The rest of the food that was coming out looked great, I think we just ordered the wrong dishes. We'll give this place a try again in the future to try something else off the menu.
