Hubby and I were both craving diner-type food and the Old Glory Cafe did not disappoint. The food and the decor was totally worth the trip. You seat yourself and a server will come over with menus and take your order. I ordered the senior meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and peas. Hubby ordered the three-cheese burger cooked medium and fries. My meatloaf was tender and flavorful with just the right amount of gravy. Mashed potatoes had small little lumps that tasted homemade. Peas were crisp tender and buttery. Hubby's burger was cooked perfectly and fries were slightly battered, hot and crispy. We both liked how our servings were a little smaller than what you get nowadays. Servings have become too large in most restaurants and it contributes to unhealthy bodies but these servings were enough to satisfy you without overfilling you. Service was prompt and she checked on us enough without coming over too much. The place is so interesting with all of its historical memorabilia. They are true patriots and honor vets and service members, demonstrating their love for our nation. Great lunch experience. read more

My actual rating is 4.5. I'd like to once again thank Yelp for their decision to not allow reviewers to utilize a half star. I've eaten at this restaurant about a half dozen times during the past three years. I don't think it gets enough credit locally. The food is always good, the service is reliable and the restaurant is well maintained. The theme, as the name implies, is veteran oriented. There are nice sized tables and booths, which make dining comfortable. I've always eaten there for breakfast. The size of the menu is just right, offering many options for anyone in your dining party. I've had a couple of different breakfasts and found the flavorful, well prepared and filling. If you drink coffee, you'll never have an empty cup! To me, this is everything a local restaurant should be. If you are in the mood for breakfast or lunch, I wouldn't hesitate to give the place a shot! read more

I would not recommend this place unless you like a grumpy server. I'm pretty sure he was the owner. He pounded our drinks on the table, yelled at people to move out of the aisle and never once smiled or said a pleasant word. I'd also like to have a friendly breakfast without the owners politics in my face. The food was pretty good. The omelette was good. My chorizo eggs were okay but dry. This is our second time. We aren't going back. I'm sure the owner would say it's our loss. I think he should retire. read more

The waiter/server was the worst we have ever had! Rude, nasty. My friend and I along with her 95 year old mother were ignored from the start. He became very ticked off when taking our order. We told him we were leaving, he said "good". I told him he should be more concerned since the place only had a few customers and he'd need the profit. He was truly a 50+ year old bitch! read more

Rude waitress took our drink order and refused to take our food order by walking away fast as soon as she heard water. Ordered a skillet, which i would have thought implied cooked. Raw greenpeppers,raw onions, way undercooked potatos ( when i ordered specific well done ). To top it all off not one refill on my coffee. I still left a nice tip but I will not be coming back. We had wanted to try Old Glory for quite some time. We went for breakfast at 6:15am. There were only a few people there. The waitress took our drink order and we said to give us a minute to look at the menu. Fifteen minutes later, she still hadn't come to take our order. The only good thing was, when we went to pay for our coffee and say we were leaving because we didn't get our order taken, the waitress said we didn't need to pay for it. We won't go back. We went to Rico's and had a great meal. We were in and out in less than an hour. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We came on a very busy Mother's Day so it was understandable that it was busy. However, we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for food that came out lukewarm and incorrect. With having 5 children among us, this was not ok. We waited 45 minutes for an orange juice that we had to remind them to get. Drinks sat empty for close to an hour and we had to flag someone down to get them. All of this would have been ok if there was any sort of communication. The owner was taking care of us and is one of the most unpersonable people I have ever met. He took our order and we did not see him again until our food was sporadically delivered. We come here so often for breakfast because the food is wonderful, but there are plenty of other diners in the area with good food, better service and MUCH faster delivery times. In other words, if you are not prepared to have an almost 2 hour breakfast experience that basically turned in to lunch due to the wait times... go elsewhere. Update: when we inquired with the owner about any kind of compensation for our wait, he shrugged and said "it's Mother's Day." When we made a comment about the poor customer service he said "then don't tip" and walked away. read more

Went on a Sunday for lunch. Asked for hot turkey on senior menu. Said out of that and hot pork. Ok I'll have the meatloaf. Oh out of that too. Ordered tuna salad sandwich. It was fine. Son had pancakes. Not good. My wife had pot roast melt special. Two pieces of shoe leather. Tuff and dried outside. Waitress asked how everything was. We told her about the pot roast. She kind of shrugged it off. Another woman (maybe owner) asked how everything was. Told her same. She agreed it looked terrible. Offered to bring something else but everyone else was done eating. Waitress comes back and said yeah I saw that didn't look good when I brought it out. I'm thinking she was afraid to tell the cook because I think he was also an owner. Waitress said I'll only charge you for the toast that the sandwich was on. Really? charge for the toast when the sandwich sucked. Then there's the decor. I get the flags with the name of the place and the owner can decorate how they want. It in excusable though to have black people holding a fishing pole ceramic decorations throughout the restaurant. I felt bad for the black guy working there. Definitely inappropriate. Come on already and get with the times. Overall a bad experience and terrible food. Won't be back ever. read more

Love my neighborhood diner. Great breakfast, decent dinner. Always check out their specials written on the white board near the booths. They come up with unique ideas for omelettes and have to say all have been great. Skillets also are great and the polite wait staff comes around often.
