After seeing billboards all over town featuring big ass cookies that looked delicious, we stopped into Caramel Crisp while bumming around town. A good decision that was!! This shop is half store, half bakery/cafe/delicious eats! I browsed around the store - which was full of local trinkets, clothing, magnets, and other that was just fun to look around. The bakery/shop was filled with trinkets, souvenirs, clothing, wine, snacks, popcorn and cookies! When I say this is popcorn heaven, I mean any and every flavor you could think of, is here. White Chocolate, Loaded backed Potato, cheese curd, everything! While the popcorn is impressive, it's the cookie bar that's insane....and what we came for! All cookies are made and decorated in house - with the coolest flavors and pairings around. For $15, we could pick 6 cookies of our choosing - all of which were fancier than a simple chocolate chip. I can't remember our flavors, but all were moist, delicious, and reminiscent of a Crumbl cookie - only better! We left with a few Wisconsin items and noshed on the cookies all weekend. I was in the area to grab breakfast and stumbled upon this cafe. As soon as I WALKED in I began getting CHRISTMAS vibes which I LOVED. Came in for Father's Day treats, around 4:40. Within minutes, we were told all areas for shopping were closed. The bakery, popcorn and ice cream were only available. They had 30+ flavors of ice cream and signs advertised several flavors of floats! I ordered a Root beer Float. NO vanilla in ANY of the 3 freezer cases! Our server asked her co-worker? She said she'd go check for some in the back? Our server says "Don't bother. I'll just tell them we're all out"! I'm like, I'm standing right here, I hear you! My son, and10 year old granddaughter were speechless! We ended up with 3 single scoops in dishes and n were out the door by 4:50. We were sitting at their outside tables, the 2 girls came out, put locks on tables/chairs, so we moved to nearby wooden benches, they then locked store door and left at 5:01! This is the most adorable little place in Oshkosh! When you walk in you can go to the left and visit the bookstore, go to the right and visit a gift shop, or walk straight ahead to look at their Cafe menu,popcorns, and ice creams. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I'm excited to go back and maybe actually have lunch there. But we strictly went this time to get popcorn! We chose Jaapeno Cheddar, Peanut Butter Thai, and their Caramel Corn of course! Let me tell you there is nothing like the smell of when they start popping fresh popcorn I thought that I had gone to heaven! We tried all three of the original flavors that we bought and we were back 2 days later getting more of the Jalapeno Cheddar and grabbing a couple others that we hadn't tried yet. This time we grabbed the Garlic Parmesan and Asiago Chipotle. No surprise these were both delicious as well! The staff was super friendly during both of our visits! Also their prices are pretty amazing! I used to work at a store that sold popcorn and it was nowhere near this affordable! As I said I would love to go there and actually have lunch. Maybe next time! Such a cute eclectic place! And yes the cookies are the best I have ever had!! The door county cherry is my favorite. The popcorn is the best too! If you get the cheddar be ready for orange fingers. The place is a combo book store, cafe and gift shop. Don't let any grumpy Yelp reviews deter you from coming here. The staff was very friendly and quick. The food was really good. The Mac n cheese yummy! The lasagna soup was hearty and flavorful. The sloppy Joe was good with tasty chips. A fun little dining area to eat. First time stopping by recently, such a cool spot. You'd never imagine it to look the way it looks on the inside just by looking at it from the outside. Has, ice cream, coffee, cookies, sweets, popcorn, giftshop, café lounge area, great for students in the UWO area. My bagel sandwich unfortunately was just okay and my coffee did not taste... the way I expected it to taste. When I asked for half and half in my coffee... the barista asked.."of what?", so that threw me off a bit. Slogan for this shop states Best Cookies. So I stopped in to grab a couple for my in laws and my husband and grabbed some of their famous Carmel Corn. Their gift shop is huge and filled with lots of varieties of wine, olive oil, cards, magnets, tshirts and numerous other items. Very unique and cute. The staff was friendly and attentive. They had a large variety of cookies. And while the cookies were good, I think maybe they are more of an average cookie. Nothing that would bring me back. I stopped at this cafe after having a meeting next door. I was shocked at how large the place is as well as how many offerings are located inside. The cafe includes options for food, cakes / cookies, ice cream, and popcorn. The shopping areas include a gift shop, boutique clothing, many stuffed animals, games, and books. I ordered a breakfast burrito and a slice of cheesecake - breakfast and lunch. They were both good. The burrito had the option to include salsa. However, I didn't take the salsa as I planned to eat it in the car. The cheesecake was also a good treat. Looking for a spot for a variety of desserts or a local gift shop? The gluten-free "bread" is a bun but it holds the meat inside the sandwich so it worked for me. I wish it were a little bigger or that the cup of fruit as an added $1.50 was a little bigger (why is a $1.50 bag of chips free but if I skip the chips I'm charged $1.50?). A cute little coffee shop/candy shop in downtown Oshkosh! Caramel Crisp offers a wide variety of coffee and pastries/breakfast sandwiches to get everyone up and running in the morning. I was sad to see no regular cappucinos on the menu, but I was not in a position to complain about the form of coffee at that point. I was in town for a wedding, so this was a bit more difficult after a long day spent with family celebrating. The space itself is very arts and crafts-sy, with heirloom-type furniture, rocking chairs, and quarky decorations. Yet, if you decide to come by and satisfy your sweet tooth later in the day, they have cookies, pies, ice cream, and covered popcorn in a candy shop located in an adjacent room, perfect for kids. We stopped in here as we made our way home from a Labor Day weekend in Appleton. We saw a billboard and decided to check it out. What a cute little cafe & gift shop. We browsed for a little while and then eyeballed the baked goodies for quite awhile trying to decide what to get. We finally decided on 3 cookies: s'mores, turtle and sugar. My daughter had the sugar cookie, and she wasn't entirely impressed by it, but I can't vouch since I didn't actually try it. It was very pretty and looked good. My son picked the s'mores. He devoured it and had chocolate all over his face, so I'm guessing it was pretty darn good. My husband and I split the turtle. It was very tasty, but nothing that left me hungering for more. That said, however, the cookies were fresh, the prices were good, and the shop is adorable. If we're in the area, we'll definitely stop in again and pick some other flavors to try out. I think a good review should list all pros and cons, you be the judge. Pros: plenty of parking, friendly helpful and knowledgeable staff, great selection over all of lunch and desserts. Large open space for dining or shopping in gift store. Very clean space & bathrooms! Mixed crowd from 30s to 70s. Loved the apple pie! The crust was amazing and the consistency with the apples held up with a great tangy zesty flavor! Great selection of coffee and tea drinks - better than Starbucks! I ordered food to go from a husband and they bagged it up perfectly in containers and placed everything securely in a brown paper bag for carry out. They also offer plastic utensils to go. I'm glad they do not use any type of Styrofoam to go containers instead they use paper which is biodegradable and better for the environment! Cons : if you are a vegan or gluten-free this restaurant does not offer much of a selection. The only thing I noticed that was semi-vegetarian was the quiche. Full vegan Only the spinach salad or tortellini pasta salad. Only one kind of cookie was gluten-free. I believe they contained nuts which taste great but bad if you have allergies. The overall space for dining and gift shopping is huge but the area that you order near the glass food cases is very narrow and does not allow people to pass by you easily while you are viewing the food case. I would like to suggest to the owner that you add a couple more delicious gluten-free, and lunch meal options. Our lunch experience : We had the Strada for lunch which looked beautiful but had absolutely no flavor. It did not seem to have any salt, pepper, or any seasonings. We did not care for it nor the coconut macadamia cheesecake because the macadamia nuts tasted old and gave it a bad aftertaste. My mother tried the cherry pie and loved it. We are going to get this restaurant another try since it is a nice cozy place and We like to support local businesses. Our positive suggestion to the owner would be to add another person or two to the front area for serving and taking orders / especially during the lunch hour. There were three people working when we stopped in But they were all busy prepping food for clients and could not wait on new clients coming in at the same time ... There is no " set line" so as you wait people are cutting in front of you from the front door as well as the side - it does not seem to be organized well for check out. I would like to congratulate the owners I'm putting together a beautiful vintage restaurant and café and I feel it is a great addition to Oshkosh & Fox cities. I would be happy to recommend this place to friends and family and I look forward to stopping back soon to try more delicious goodies on their menu! read more

This is a very neat place in town. They just expanded and remodeled their interiors so it gave a refreshing look overall. I've heard they have great cookies, but I'm not a fan of cookies. I do find their caramel popcorn and jalapeño poppers grilled cheese being exceptional! It's a very nice place for a quick lunch or snack. I was in the area and time to get some work done. A friend suggested this place, plus there were some positive Yelp reviews so I had to try it out. It's located in the Oshkosh City Center. It's attached to a little gift shop. As you walk in, you immediately get caught in trance of cookies and pies. Besides desserts, they have a variety of coffee drinks and tea...not as extensive some other coffee houses but still something for everyone. They have a breakfast menu and a menu of sandwiches. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich. The sandwich wasn't terribly exciting. First, it was shredded chicken which I've never had for a buffalo chicken sandwich. It kind of tasted like the chicken was sitting in a Nesco at a church picnic. I really dig the atmosphere of the cafe and would give it a second try. The sandwich just threw me off. We tried: door county cherry, butterscotch, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter chocolate, oatmeal coconut chocolate chip, and a caramel filled one. All amazing! The staff was very friendly and patient as I was indecisive when choosing cookies. I also got an iced Carmel latte, and they offer many different kinds of milk including almond. Being native to Oshkosh I have been to the Caramel Crisp multiple times and have always found the cookies to be flavorful. However, during my last visit I walked away disappointed in the service and how I was treated. My husband and I made the simple order of two cookies and warm drinks to match. We remained friendly with the workers and patient while others were ordering ahead of us. When I went to pay I found the worker to be cold and uninviting. My payment card happened to have service members on it holding up an American flag. The worker took one at the card as I was handing it to them, gave me look, and swiped the card. As I was reaching out to grab it back from them, they slapped it on the counter and wouldn't look at me. The whole situation left me feeling odd and unwelcome. The drinks that we ordered were nothing fancy, yet my husband's had no flavor to it and mine was overly sweet. I had a few sips of it but decided it was too rich to finish and ended up throwing it out. While the cookies were tasty, unfortunately they are not a good enough reason to come back anytime soon. read more

The play area for kids is like the size of my bathroom, plus a door opens into it so people and venders are walking through all the time, sometimes with big boxes. The kids can open the door too and walk out onto a busy street also. There is lots of small chocking hazards for smaller kids. There is no door or barrier between the play area and the toys in the store, so it's hard to keep kids there from wandering trough the store. By the play area there is also some giant glass jars along the windows that little kids could break if not careful. This seems like a safety issue We noticed most of the cookies are labeled if they have peanuts or not. So we get one without and give it to my toddler since he has peanut allergies. He gave me a piece, and lo and behold it has peanuts after all! Their reason, "we don't have time to label everything." They even copped an attitude about it like it was my fault. I just wish they were better about labeling "contains peanuts." I like this place as there is a lot of unique things here, it's just way to packed and hard to walk through with kids. It feels overcrowded. I don't think this place is good for kids under 5. read more

Good breakfast options are limited in the area we are staying in so we decided to trek up to Oshkosh to check this place out. It's a conglomeration of a gift shop, toy store, cafe, and ice cream bar. Oh, and they sell popcorn. Lots of it. We didn't try any of it but it smelled good. We ordered from the cafe and all items were decent. Service was friendly and efficient. We both ate a full meal for less then $15, which is unheard of when you're from Chicago. We are on the patio, surrounded by cobwebs... thought this could be cleaned up and wouldn't take long! In side was clean but cluttered as it is a gift shop. Rest rooms were in need of a little tlc as well. Overall: cute option for an afternoon out. read more
