Enjoyed a recent visit to Mud Creek while staying nearby at High Cliff State Park. My mom and I needed both caffeine and wifi, both hard things to come by in such a small town, but we're delighted to have found Mud Creek. With the turn of the new fall season, we were of course drawn to their seasonal menu. Queue my first pumpkin spice latte of the year! We asked for half the sweetness and that was plenty. Super tasty and not too sweet. Also, extra points for any cafe that makes your drink in a real mug when dining in. We ordered some food to-go as well - the chx salad wrap and turkey avocado. Had a bit of both and they were great. Nothing like supporting small and local, especially in little towns like these! read more

Stopped here on a whim and it was a welcomed surprise. Sat outside with my pup to enjoy the sunshine. I ordered the chipotle panini and it was honestly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. They serve it with a little blueberry scone on the side. Also ordered the chocolate mint iced mocha and it was DELISH. Service was fast and the staff even gave my dog a pup cup so she was living her best life. 10/10 recommend! read more

We had lunch at Mud Creek Coffee on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the chicken salad salad, half size for $9. It's called the chicken salad salad because it's Waldorf chicken salad on a bed of salad greens, and it came drizzled with local honey and topped with crushed pecans. The chicken salad was really creamy and not sweet, white meat chicken with grapes, and it was very enjoyable. Personally, I can't imagine eating the full size version. They offered Colectivo coffee, but I just had a glass of water. There were both booths and tables available for seating. The cafe also had a nice selection of bottled wine adjacent to the counter. They also had a sign advertising banana butterscotch baked oatmeal, which sounded delicious. read more

Hadn't been in before, nobody was engaging with me. They have one area that looks like an order spot... it's not. Staff is apparently afraid to speak up and say come over here when ready to order. When I did order it took almost an hour for one sandwich when the place was pretty slow. An hour for bread, eggs and bacon? Absolutely ridiculous, and it was an utterly mediocre sandwich to boot. Under new ownership but the flavor and quality hasn't slipped a bit! Enjoyed getting to meet new owner Matt. I had the new break bowl which is 3eggs and your choice of toppings by type of bowl you pick. I visit all the Fox valley coffee shops regularly and have to say by far the best pumpkin latte in the area. Worth a visit outside of town for a quiet day of rest or just some fresh new adventure. Mud creek is a true diamond in the rough. I am from NY and cannot be more pleased with my experience here. I've been to many place in Manhattan that wouldn't hold a candle to the food and ambiance of Mudd Creek! The coffee is astoundingly fresh and flavorful. My only wish is that it was closer to me so I could visit more often! I look forward to my next trip here just to enjoy a breakfast panini (Denver) and a caramel white mocha. They have Colectivo coffee, so they're automatically awesome. I come here with my girlfriends - one of them got me addicted to the Sea Salt Caramel Mocha. It is SO GOOD. I also love their Snickers Mocha Freeze.. very tasty. I've had their breakfast and lunch too - everything is good. The staff is always nice and friendly. I've only been here on the weekends.. it's usually pretty busy. They must be doing something right. I believe they also have a drive-thru if that's your thing. read more

Coffee is great. Owner is not welcoming but most other staff is wonderful. We have been at this coffee shop multiple times and one would think that the owner would be more respectful and appreciative of business. I have witnessed a family who seemed to frequent the place often just by their demeanor. She seemed so frustrated and upset when their child spilled milk. The family was so kind about it and cleaned it up themselves after she handed them a rag. Another time, during a traveling art fair, their was a sign posted telling customers not to stay long or use their computers that day. I have a difficult time patronizing a shop with this kind of unwelcoming behavior. read more

I had 2 different opportunities to visit during a recent trip to High Cliff State Park. I wasn't disappointed either time. Once was cold sandwiches to go, once was hot sandwiches and soup to eat outside. Both times the food was very good, and service was quick. This is a hidden gem on the east side of Lake Winnebago. Skip the fast food and chains and buy local - you won't be disappointed at Mud Creek Coffee. Just wish they were closer to home! read more

I had the DayBreaker espresso which was very delicious without feeling like it was too decadent. My friend got the Sea Salt Caramel Mocha which was so good- for one sip...and then was a little overwhelmingly sweet. We find ourselves driving from Fond Du Lac to Manitowoc quite often. We've seen the sign for Mud Creek many times; but we always turned off before getting there. This time we took the detour. Glad we did. Coffee and tea were stellar. The chocolates are off the charts. Raps, paninis and breakfasts are very good. A vegetarian friendly place that uses high quality ingredients. There are also gluten free items on their menu. The people there are friendly and personable. This is an out-of-the-way gem in a small rural town. Don't let that fool you. I love frequenting local businesses, but I have experienced such rude customer service here time and time again that it straight up stresses me out to think about ever returning. Examples: I used to go in there a couple of times a week to study. I arrived one morning and found a line, so I went to pick out a table while I waited for the other customers to be helped. I was immediately confronted and informed I needed to purchase something in order to use their wifi. I was totally horrified. I had been a frequent customer and felt this was an incredibly rude and inappropriate way to treat a customer. A better response might have been to ask what they could have gotten me? Or on a basic level to have had the wherewithal to recognize a frequent customer who doesn't just abuse free wifi? Then, after a years-long boycott, I recently decided to try it again with a friend and we were again confronted and scolded because the five year old with us was drumming on the GRANITE( I.E. INDESTRUCTIBLE) tabletops. Again, was an incredibly inappropriate response. I would have liked to see maybe a more gentle way of saying "hey could you please not do that" vs what happened, which was basically this girl shouting "no no no stop that is not happening" from behind the counter. I'm not even exaggerating. Maybe because we don't personally know the owners? So rude. Not what you would expect from a local small town business. Not sure who their ideal customer is, but it apparently is not between the ages of 0-40. The girls behind the counter don't seem to be having much fun and are obviously not enjoying their time working there. Sad. Never returning, which is such a shame, because it had decent food and fun coffee drinks. read more

Oh my gosh, we were not disappointed. It was a rainy day camping and while searching for s late breakfast, we found Mud Creek only 3.5 miles from our camp site.
