I really wish I liked their sandwiches... The service is friendly and quick, even during peak hours. The dining area is welcoming but nothing special. I have gotten sandwiches a few times from this spot, but each time I find the same thing: I don't like their bread. The ciabatta is crackly and hurts my mouth. The focaccia is just so much bread for a sandwich. Often I find my sandwich is just dry and not as flavorful as I'd expect for a spot that seems to be innovative and thoughtful about their rotating sandwiches. Every time, I read the description of the sandwich and think it'll be great, but every time I'm disappointed. It's dry and bland. I'd rather spend my money on food I enjoy, which is a bummer because I'd rather support local businesses, but I'd say save your money for Jimmy John's or Jersey Mikes.... But who knows, maybe I'm just not ordering the right thing. read more

Wow! Stopped by at 2pm for lunch on a Wednesday. A couple people inside. Explained the menu and the staff and family favs on the boards. I got Caddies fav and added salami and it was AMAZING! They make fresh focaccia for the sandwiches and press all of them like a panini. Sooo flavorful and yummy! Also huge! I ate one half and i was full. So it's two meals for a great price! Would definitely come back again, and the dessert menu was also tempting. Can't beat great sandwiches. Will have to try different toppings next time too. read more

Small NY style deli with amazing bites! We (and all customers) were greeted immediately and welcomed! Counter service with small tables inside and outside, weather permitting. Ordering seemed overwhelming until we realized there was a menu with staff favorite combos. You can create your own DYI sandwiches or staff favorite paninis, soup, bowls or salads. All customizable and made in front of you. Come hungry as the sandwiches are big! All of us only managed to eat 1/2 of our sandwiches, including the teenager! We tried Paul's, Emma's and Kristi's plus a DIY - all delicious! Despite being full, we couldn't leave without sampling some of the sweet treats. We purchased some raspberry macarons which were full of flavor and beautiful!! They were also sampling tiramisu and cannoli cakes that they are offering for the holidays. My sisters and I stopped in on a Thursday early afternoon and ordered the Megan and the Carson sandwiches to share. The staff was very accommodating to cut the sandwiches in fourths. I would recommended ordering any takeout sandwiches in advance as all the paninis are made fresh. It took at least 15 minutes for the sandwiches to be made as there were multiple online orders in front of us. I am glad we shared as the sandwiches are extremely filling. I got a full Carson Sandwich (a staff favorite) and my boyfriend got a full Cadee sandwich (also a staff favorite). With 2 bags of chips our order came out to $28 and some change. A deli shop that is simply delish! It's sun filled room has the slightest pale of smoke From the busy panini machines! Just awesome! Caveat: don't be in a rush as the food is all freshly made. It is not served in a "New York minute" like a fast food restaurant so set your expectations accordingly. Lots of options, especially with the build-your-own salad and sandwich choices. Food was really good, and my sandwich was so filling that I saved half for lunch the next day. And it wasn't even soggy! If I lived in town, I'd probably be a regular. My only complaint is that our order took a lot longer than I expected (over 10 minutes), and we were the only ones with an order in--just two sandwiches and a salad to go. When I first saw the ad for this restaurant, I was excited about eating there since it's supposed to be a New York deli. It has been a long time since I visited New York Deli, and I miss those incredible sandwiches. Ok, that said, this restaurant is disappointing; I guess it's "good enough" for a Sheboygan. Arrosto does have that New York "deli" look, and its interior is very appealing. I wish the sandwiches lived up to the atmosphere. So, let us talk about my order; I had the roast beef sandwich. The beef was not cooked with any seasoning, and the texture was rubbery. I don't know any roast beef recipe that doesn't season the beef; for heaven's sake, use a little salt and pepper. The garlic herb aioli that came with the sandwich was just plain lousy mayo with parsley, which added no flavor to the overall sandwich. Even the cheap "deli" mustard was disappointing and added no real flavor to the sandwich. Come on, you are supposed to be a New York deli; buy some decent mustards. The only saving grace of this sandwich was the fresh bread, which was exceptional. Unfortunately, even the delicious bread could not save the sandwich from being plain bland. I also ordered the chicken sandwich, which suffered from the same thing as its beef counterpart. Once again, the bread was fantastic, but everything else was plain bland. Once again, try cooking with some salt and pepper, and your meats will have some flavor. I wonder if this place should be a bakery and skip the whole New York style sandwich concept. Oh, one more thing: what kind of New York deli doesn't have pastrami, corn beef or tuna? It's sad when Panera Bread makes better sandwiches at a better price than a self-proclaimed New York deli. Remember that Arrosto is in Sheboygan so most people will settle for an overpriced bland sandwich. read more

Unless you are making salami and eggs, no one wants salami or mortadella heated. How about a simple roasted turkey, sliced thin, piled high on a good wheat bread. Lightly toasted with crisp lettuce and tomato. You want to make a sandwich with salami, mortadella and provolone? Okay, but don't stick it in a panini press. Use the focaccia or a ciabatta or a hard roll. They bake them right across the street. I'm not really interested in picking apart every misstep. The bottom line is, it's not a NY Italian deli.
