Sazs was the exclusive caterer for our wedding hosted at The George in Walkers Point, MKE. The catering menu had a wide variety of appetizers, entrees, sides and styles of serving to choose from, it was both impressive and appetizing! Their team was responsive, helpful and flexible in helping us achieve what we wanted for the event. We had some request that seemed like a big deal, but Sazs event planner Michelle said "no problem!" as she helped develop our menu and overall timeline for the evening. Something I appreciated was their willingness and focus on taking care of our guests with allergies/dietary restrictions. While planning was truly a breeze, the service the day of was impeccable. The staff was helpful, professional and very efficient throughout the entire evening. We had so much positive feedback on the food that evening- everyone loved the apple cider glaced short ribs, blackened swordfish and the supper club style relish trays. We had a wonderful experience working with the Saz's catering team for our wedding reception and rehearsal dinner! Katie coordinated both events for us and made the overwhelming process of wedding planning easy and seamless. Saz's facilitated all communication in a timely manner regarding our tasting, final decisions, and timeline for the events. They were also very accommodating with phone calls instead of in-person meetings with us not living in the same city. For the rehearsal dinner we set up a buffet and the food was great! Many of our guests were going up for seconds and told us how good the food was. We went with their burger and chicken bar and there was not only plenty of food but the set up and takedown process after the event was handled with great professionalism and timeliness. For our wedding reception we could not be happier with Saz's as well! All the staff were professional and the food was amazing. We decided to go with hand passed apps for cocktail hour, family style dinner, and then a late night nacho bar. Holy cow they are a game changer. Stop hesitating, they are the one. Not only do they have a large menu with items you actually understand, they've been doing this for over 40 years. Those years of experience shine through every aspect of pre-wedding communication, planning and day of execution. They hosted an amazing tasting for us and 4 others (we chose our parents). We sampled so many items, met the chef, picked out linens after seeing them in person, etc. All of that was part of the catering fee, not additional. Day of, they didn't have a single question, we were not interrupted one bit. They had it down to a science. As we had dinner, we had forgotten what we chose and were taken back to that amazing tasting. Then, every guest came up to us after dinner complimenting the food. This was incredible especially considering they were not one of the more expensive options. We previously had started our journey with a different, well known Milwaukee catering company, they were TRIPLE the price for LESS. They also had fees for the tasting, crazy fees for linens, other fees for fees sake, and on top of it were difficult to get ahold of and rude (after contract signature of course). We made a change. We could not be more pleased with Saz's and would recommend them to everyone!! If we ever have a big party in the future, they will be my first call. read more

If you're looking for a great caterer, I highly recommend Saz's Catering. Everything that I had the pleasure of eating during a work dinner I was a part of, the food was all outstanding. The Winter Salad that was served came with candied pecans, pears, and goat cheese croquettes. The only thing I didn't prefer were the pears because they didn't taste fresh. Other than that, the salad was amazing; especially the crispy on the outside and moist on the inside croquettes. The ribeye was cooked perfectly on everyone's plates, and it was a group of 40. We all had medium rare steaks that were great. No one complained about anything. Even the scallops were cooked nicely. The best part of the meal was the Honey Crisp Bread Pudding with Cinnamon Ice Cream! My group is still talking about how delicious the dessert was. The ice cream was out of this world. The wait staff could use a little more training. It was kind of awkward the way they would skip over certain people to serve others first. Also, a few drinks got dropped. Overall, I had a fantastic experience having a four course meal catered by Saz's and I'd definitely recommend their services to anyone! read more

Highly impressed with Saz's catering after they were the vendor for a 150 person wedding I was helping a friend with. I was the contact for all the vendors for her wedding. The team arrived on time, all the staff was professional, and the team lead was extremely personable. The majority of the food was cooked on site and all 3 meal options chosen by the bride and groom were beautifully plated and from all accounts tasted delicious. For something that was cooked for 150 people in a kitchen the size of the one in my home, I was highly impressed. Service was speedy and professional. They also brought all the table linens and silverware. I will definitely consider them for my catering needs for parties in the future! Leah is an absolute rockstar! I'm an event planner from NYC and was recruited to help a friend with her 20th wedding anniversary at the last minute. I called a few other places, but I immediately felt that Leah was someone who "gets it". They were booked solid, so she hooked me up with Chris at West Lake Country Club, because Saz's recently started doing all their food. Chris and the staff there totally hooked us up with some seriously, massively, AMAZING food that even arrived a little early! Being unfamiliar with vendors in the MKE area, Leah gave me some recommendations that were highly useful. She probably cut my planning research and such by 2/3's. I always appreciate running into other event professionals that care about putting on a great party, and even though she personally wasn't making money on it, she helped her company score our account, and she helped me look like a total event planning bad-ass. My wife and I had a combined birthday party with 50 guests and we selected Saz's to do the catering for it. We worked with Joe Brueggemann the Catering Director who helped us with the right portions and the quote. Food was delivered and set-up on time and they stopped by the next day for their equipment pick-up. We used their set-up service which included braising dishes for the hot food and the did a nice job of decorating the tables with white linens and colored linens around the braising dishes. We had pulled pork, ribs, rumaki, swedish meatballs, deli sandwiches, Bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms. I ordered food for a retirement party. We picked it up cold so we could heat it up the next day. We really were able to get a lot of food for our budget. The food was wonderful! Everyone was raving about the ribs, barbecued pork, and turkey. We also had the pasta salad and baked potato salad. Both were great! When our original venue Cuvee closed, I knew we could reach out to their team and ask for help on how to find a new venue since we were only 6 months out from our date. We couldn't be happier with Saz's Catering and Michelle was fantastic! Even from the initial emails, phone calls, and consultation, the customer service was impeccable. The service could only be topped by the food, which was just amazing. The linens, table setups, appetizers and dinners were unbelievable. We received so many compliments on the delicious food! We imagined that the food at the tasting would be a much higher quality than the food on the wedding day (because of higher quantities), but they matched up perfectly! The salmon, prime rib, chicken and vegetarian dishes were so delicious, and did not taste like typical wedding food. Michelle was very accommodating for guests with special dietary needs - peanut & gluten allergies. She put our minds at ease on the big day, and even checked in with us at the reception to make sure everything was going well. We had our wedding in Milwaukee and really didn't know who to use as a caterer since I had not lived there for the past 15 years. Heard Saz's had real good BBQ, so I made a call to them and then worked through the details via email. Staff was very nice and responsive. Set up was on time and nicely done. The food was amazing. I lead Evans Transportation Services' internal events planning group and was so happy to hire Saz's Catering for the Thanksgiving luncheon that we had for the whole team at HQ last week! People couldn't stop talking about how delicious the food was and many even commented on the perfect presentation. Best moment was overhearing one employee walk into the luncheon room and say "Jeez, they treat us like kings and queens here." As a very busy marketing and comm director with little time to dedicate to internal event planning but a strong desire to treat our team to the best, Saz's is always the perfect partner: I place our order, then Saz's takes care of absolutely everything else without my having to worry about a thing - even meticulous clean up! We hosted our Thanksgiving luncheon in our training room and after the giant buffet was over and all 40+ team members had gotten at least one plate, Saz's cleaned up so well that - afterward - it looked completely unused and ready for the next meeting. Saz's catered my daughter's wedding at Best Place in Historic Pabst Brewery. We went with German to stay with the theme. Absolutely delicious and every guest was raving from all over the country, including VA, KY, D.C. and WI. Buffet food was hot and plentiful. Most guests were not aware they could have seconds, I would have wished the staff would have made that known. Saz's served our cake after dinner, but dance floor tables were taken away, so some of them were not offered cake. And, if you were not dancing you were not offered cake, so I would suggest having a cake table with cut pieces until all knew there was cake and the cake was gone. We were surprised that we went home with almost two sheet cakes when our guests were sad they did not get any cake (including myself!). We had pretzels with mustard and cheese brought out about 10:30PM. They disappeared fast even though the pretzels were cold. I would have thought they would be at least warm. read more

Two years ago we were forced to use a competitor because I didn't book the date soon enough...needless to say, people were disappointed. Unfortunately, I had a really bad experience with Saz's Catering. I was in touch with Laura Phelps in order to get a price quote for a custom menu. After over two weeks of not hearing back, she said she would check with the chef to see what they could do. I finally received a list of the items they could make and requested pricing for the items the chef submitted. I heard back another week later that the date I was interested in was no longer available. I had requested information over a month before by the time I was told my date was no longer available. I was very disappointed with how this situation was handled and received no response yet again when I expressed my dissatisfaction. This is not how you treat potential customers and I will definitely not be using Saz's Catering in the future. They may be ok for standard menus, but the process for any sort of customization is a nightmare. read more

We catered our Thanksgiving dinner from Saz's this year. We had moved into a small apartment and I wasn't sure about the logistics of coordinating the dinner in a limited space. I expected it to be good, but the dinner was amazing! I love to cook and my standards are high. We picked up the meal at noon and it was still hot when we sat down at 1:30 pm. The turkey was moist and delicious with a good assortment of white and dark meat. The mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy were every bit as tasty as I would have made myself. The green beans were crunchy with a generous amount of toasted almonds. I always make my own cranberry orange relish and theirs was as good as mine. I would not have bothered with the sweet potatoes, but their recipe with maple syrup was a big hit. The salad of mixed greens with Apple, craisins, almonds, feta cheese and cranberry vinaigrette complimented the meal. We added Saz's scrumptious corn muffins along with the rolls and they were a favorite. Dinner catered from Saz's will become a new thanksgiving tradition. I was able to really enjoy my family and my meal with a minimum of prep or clean-up. Thank you Saz's! read more
